I came here to do laundry and the machine only takes bills if you want to get quarters. I had 75 cents in nickels and dimes and got change from the young woman at the counter. She only gave me two quarters and I told her that I had given her 75 cents. She said I had given her 50 cents. She rolled her eyes and made a face as she went back into the register and gave me my quarter. Rude as hell. Walked out and took my business elsewhere. Boycott this establishment. read more

I work in customer service so I notice customer service first. If a place has great customer service I can overlook other shortcomings. This place has NO customer service. My husband and I just moved into a place with no washer and dryer-for the first time. So we are looking for a place to do our laundry every week. We tried this place out since it is the closest. I pulled out my first load of clothes from the dryer, which included a brand new work blouse I had not worn yet (in fact I had just taken the tags off it that morning to wash it)- and it had stains all over it! So I left it at the laundromat with a claim form and was told the owner would get back to me on Monday when he was in. So he called while I was at work and I was unable to answer. When I called back 2 hours later he was already gone but had his attendant tell me that "there is nothing they could do because it is not their responsibility to keep their machines clean". I found that to be a rude brush off d a response, and not the way an owner of a business should be treating his customers. I will be driving farther out of my way to find a laundromat that wants my business. read more

It's hard to get excited about going to the Laundromat but Corner Wash makes it bearable. It's clean, it's cheap, and nothing's broken. What you see is what you get. They don't try to overcompensate for this, unlike their competitor Vegas Wash on El Cajon. (Seriously? VEGAS Wash?) And, they passed the ultimate laundromat test: we accidentally left our clothes after closing and the next day they were put in bags ready for us to pick up. read more

Yeah, it's a laundromat. But I dig that they offer a fluff n' fold. Let's face it. Sometimes you get too busy to keep up with the weekly chores. So the dust starts building up. And the sink could use a good wipe down. And you don't want to take baths because you haven't had time to give it the bi-weekly clean. And your laundry hamper is over flowing with clothes. And you want to prioritize your chores, so you choose cleaning the apartment over doing your laundry. That's when you drop off your laundry at Corner Wash and have them take care of your laundry. $1.50/pound, $2.00/pound if you want your stuff done on the weekend. They'll launder, fold, press your pressables and wrap everything up in a nice package for you for a pretty penny. None of my items were shrunk, even my tees The only downside, they use some kind of powerful smelling laundry detergent that will let everyone know that someone else laundered your clothes for you. Might want to supply your own stash if you want to avoid that situation. read more

NEVER GO HERE! Dropped off dry-cleaning, and came to pick it up... Only to discover that they changed the price of my items, I ended up paying almost double what my ticket said. Never did I receive a phone call to ask before the service was completed, then the attendant didn't care & wouldn't release my clothing until the new amount was paid. We are renovating our house, and without a laundry room for several months. There don't seem to be any fluff and fold places in our neighborhood (Mission Hills), so I took Yelp's advice and dropped my laundry off at the Corner Wash. I may never do laundry again. I've been doing laundry for oh... 35 years? But these people just do it better. Clean, soft, smells good! They will fold if you want folded, or hang. The home washer is out of commission for the weekend, being re-piped, so I filled up the back with bags of laundry. Scheduled several errands in Kensington, so consulted Android maps to search for a nearby coin laundry and here we are. The good news: Parking lot is sufficient. Did six loads simultaneously, YAY!. Place is clean, has wifi, fairly normal, pleasant clientele, Vons is close so you can pickup detergent and bleach and not pay exorbitant fees. Most of the machines worked. There is a coffee place right next door, though they close at 2 on Saturdays. It's a safe neighborhood: kids playing at the park across the street, De Milles Italian Restaurant is right there, too~ The bad news: One of the washing machines ATE 7 (SEVEN!!!!!) different pieces of clothing. SEVEN!!!!! WTF!!!!! Rips, tears, holes, shreds, OMG. It was as if a dozen rats had been in there chewing to their hearts content, making nests for the entire rat kingdom. Then, one of the dryers took a coin and suddenly flashed "ERROR WILL ROBINSON" (lol, maybe not WR, but you understand), The attendant was nice enough to refund the coin without question, though I took those remaining clothes home partially damp, being scared a dryer might suddenly acquire those rats from the washer. Mixed news: Bathroom was clean, had to put the paper on the roll. They do not accept credit cards, though that may be an industry standard, I don't know. Sign on the wall says the attendant will put your stuff in the dryer and fold it for six dollars per dryer, but attendant refuses, stating the sign is out of date and does not apply at that price. Again, WTF???? I asked how long, on average, does a typical dryer take to dry two loads of wet laundry. Attendant was not capable of making the calculation. Last time we were here, we needed change for a $20. The lady at the counter says "hold on, I'm killing fleas". This is a Laundromat! Stop allowing people to bring their dogs in here! Especially you!. This particular day there were 2 other dogs in here besides the usual kick- a-poo that's always in here (see photo). So she's washing peoples clothes and folding them in the back where there are fleas. That was the last time I will ever be doing my laundry here. Completely unacceptable! read more

This place still sucks. Was asked to wait for change for my $20 because she had to take the fleas off her dog. All while sitting and folding an unknowing customers laundry. Christine is rude and lazy. I never see her do any work, she hides in the back and doesn't check to see who her customers are. She needs to be fired or find another line of work where she doesn't have to interface with other humans. I would give this place zero stars if it weren't close enough to my house for me to run home after I throw my clothes in the dryer and have a cup of coffee while I wait. Even though it is a little pricier than other laundry Matts its totally worth it. It's in a nice part of town , in the location there are working vending machines a tv with cable ( always on a kid and adult friendly channels) also offers free WiFi ! the two ladies that work here are super friendly I havnt seen them stop cleaning since I've been here ! It's a nice change compared to most , that are crowed with bored kids running around and crancky people . The only reason why I give corner was a 3 star is because of an experience I had in there a couple of weeks ago. (I know, I'm late, but I was doing another review for a nail place so I just thought I'd do this one too.) This day I did my wash and I used the bathroom and used the rest of the tp. So, when I got done I told the young lady that was working. She said ok. Then, the paper towels were out at one of the dispensers so I told her. She said ok. Then, when I was drying my clothes, I noticed that the rubber seal was coming off the door of the dryer so I let her know. About ten minutes later, the next girl came in for her shift. My last dryer that had two heavy towels in it all of a sudden was barely, and I mean barely spinning. So, I told the girl who was on shift. She says to me "well, its still spinning". I was dumbfounded that she did not offer to either move me to another dryer or give me my two quarters back. I don't care about the two quarters mind you. I moved my clothes to another dryer myself. I wanted to get the heck out of there. Bad customer service. (These two girls are sisters) The owner was in this last week when I went to do laundry and so was the really nice guy who empties the quarters from the machines. They were in the office with one of these girls. I noticed that one of the handles from the soap machine was stuck so I told the owner and he said "thank you for letting us know" and the the other man who was doing the machines said "I will check it right now". If I owned a business, I would want to know if the machines, etc. weren't operating right. The owner was very appreciative. He and the machine man are always nice when I see them. Cathy used to work there and she was always so polite. Donna and Becky are great too. Hopefully the owner won't ask me not to come back. Corner Wash is not the cleanest or hippest laundromat in San Diego, but it's close to my place in normal heights and it's clean enough. The prices are reasonable. $1.75 top loaders for your single loads, $3.50, $4.00, and $5.25 for multiple loads in the commercial washers. There are 32 dryers which makes it easy to get in and out. They also have a fluff & fold which I have yet to utilize. read more

This place has always been eh, it's dirty, dingy, old, the dryers are decrepit and eat my quarters. The same washing machine has been out of order for months. And they don't post their prices for the dryers anywhere. I even gave them a pass as they edged prices for washers and dryers up after a series of break-ins. But today, Christine and her poor attitude have pushed me to make this my last visit. I came in last week and needed fresh ones to get the coin machine to work and she questioned whether or not I was a patron. Today, as I was feeding the machine a $20 she told me I couldn't get $40 worth of quarters, which is standard practice for me since I do laundry here once a week. All my quarters go to this place. Christine not only questioned whether I was a patron more than once, she told me I couldn't get $40 worth of quarters and only questioned ME about my patronage when there were others in the laundromat she didn't address. When I confronted her about this she told me that they don't know where the quarters are going. When I told her that if she weren't hiding in the back on her phone she would know who her customers were. She told me that she doesn't have to explain herself to me, and asked me if I watch th news. If Mike, the owner is reading. You lost a weekly customer. Your place was already trashy and questionable, but today was my last load. I hope developers bulldoze your place and put in an apartment block. read more

Not a whole lot of laundromats as nice, convenient and large as the Corner Wash. Machines are typically in good service. There is always a staff member on hand if you have questions or need help. There is plenty of seating areas and prices are reasonable. Really can't go wrong here if you need to wash clothes. Plus they have tv's and there are good spots nearby to eat. Overall, the Corner Wash is defintely one of the nicer laundromats in the area. I've always had a good experience here. read more

A solid, convenient place to do laundry. I have become a regular at Corner Wash because it is close to home, reasonably priced, and has wifi. The attendant is also friendly and helpful, and the parking lot is a convenience as well. Hard to downgrade the place that is responsible for conveniently washing my clothes. For almost $7 I did two blankets in less than an hour. Probably could have done less but I think I overdid it on the dryer. They have vending machines and magazine to help you pass the time. Also, across the street is a bookstore if you can trust others. Didn't have any problems, was in and out. Really appreciate the fact they have their own parking lot. Others in the area have shared lots and who needs it? read more

Update (12/29/2017): They've done a lot to refresh this place since I wrote my original review. All new machines replace the old ones except for the single wash machines. Dryers are clean and work well. 25 cents per 7 minutes; normally takes 28 minutes to fully dry my clothes. The seating waiting area is still dated but at least they have WiFi. The Corner Wash earned me back as a customer. Hopefully they keep up the momentum! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The machines are old and many are broken. The interior is dirty; not a place I feel comfortable having my clean linens. The woman that owns it is extremely rude. Overall, I would pass this place up for any of the other good laundromats in the area. It's a dump. read more

It's now 9:58pm, and they close at 10pm. Regardless it does not warrant the treatment we received by the Hispanic woman working here. We spent all day doing laundry here. When we put our clothes in the dryer and went home to take the dog out and do some chores, our alarm went off to remind us that our laundry would be dry in five minutes. So we headed back to fold our clothes and bring them home. We walked in around 9:05 and instantly started to be scolded by this woman about how we should have been there sooner to get our clothes and how we took up more than one dryer. There were only two other dryers in use by another customer and they weren't full so I have no idea why this was relevant for her to bring up. She would stand over me as I was folding and repeatedly tell me about how I won't be done by 10pm and to just go home. My boyfriend finally had to stop her and tell her that she was being so disrespectful and that we'd leave by 10pm. We weren't rude to her, we weren't messy or disheveled, and if anything, I think we were really nice to her at first because we figured maybe she had a really hard day... she kept saying that she has broken English that's why she works in a laundromat. So I would tell her that her English was fantastic and I believe she should follow her heart and work wherever she wants. But she still stayed in a sour mood and spoke to me with such a bad attitude. She kept telling us to just leave and go home... like what???? I'm trying to fold my clothes. It's 9:15pm.... The other patron thought it was ridiculous as well. The women kept repeating that their alarm turns on right at 10pm so the other customer folding his clothes, while laughing, made a comment about how at 10pm if we don't leave, the alarm goes off and the SWAT team arrives. Lol it was pretty funny, but realistically, come on. If a customer that's been slaving away on laundry all day stays until 10pm, are you really that upset? My review is based on their Fluff & Fold service. Here's the deal. I'm not normally opposed to doing my own laundry. In fact, I quite enjoy it, as long as my W&D are convenient, like in my apartment. Last year I moved in to an apartment that did not have a w&d in the unit. I was okay with it because it's a small complex (only 7 units) so I didn't mind sharing. But not the point. After a year of having to actually plan out when I can do laundry, I found myself doing it less and less frequently. After chatting with my friend the other day, she convinced me to try Fluff & Fold. I had my reservations. But she talked about The Corner Wash and said they were amazing. 24 hour turn around time, reasonable prices, super friendly staff. What's funny, is I have a friend back home that sends his laundry to a service and I give him a hard time. I find myself doing exactly what I teased him for doing. But I digress. So, after taking advice from my previously mentioned friend, I pulled together a standard sized kitchen trash bag and stuffed it FULL of my laundry. I threw it over my shoulder and headed off to The Corner Wash. Now, I could have checked out the F&F place close to my apartment, but I decided to head over to Kensington because this place came highly recommended. Let me tell you. I was NOT disappointed. I dropped my clothes off Sunday evening at 5:30, and when I called to check on them at 4:00 on Monday, everything was all ready to go. I have to tell you, I was really excited to pick my stuff up. All of my t-shirts and socks were folded nicely and wrapped with blue paper to keep them all together. All of my polo shirts were hung on hangers. I was shocked to find my polo's hung up. I didn't ask for them to be dry cleaned, so I would have been pleased if they were folded. The attendant saw my shock and said "Better than you expected? I wasn't sure if you wanted them hung up so I just went ahead and put them on hangers." Um, better than I expected. 100 times yes!!! I had high expectations already, but they were exceeded by all means. My bill? $19.50 for that entire trash bag full of clothes!! Not too shabby considering you get FULL treatment of your laundry (pre-treatment, stain treatment, and any other necessary items), it's clearly taken care of, and it's so convenient. I don't know what they do, but everything felt fresher than I've felt it in a long time. My socks felt new again. My t-shirts looked better than they have in who knows how long. Even the 2 t-shirts I had washed that I've owned for years, looked fantastic. I definitely am a fan of the fluff & fold service, and I certainly will be back to visit the crew of The Corner Wash! I live about 2 blocks from this laundromat and have been doing laundry here for over 2 years. I usually do laundry in the evening and for the most part don't have any problems with this business. Generally speaking the employees are unhelpful, unfriendly and seem to be always "watching" every move I make. Its as if they are trying to catch me stealing something or otherwise committing a crime. Its a little annoying but the place is super convenient for me so I deal with it. Last week I went there in the morning for the first time ever and I had almost every article of clothing I own, plus my sheets, towels and about 6 zip-up hoodie jackets. Needless to say, it was the mother load of laundry and it required an almost militant like strategy to time it all out correctly. The first order of business was to make change for something like $40(two $20's), so I parked my truck and walked in without any laundry to make sure the coin machine was working and could handle two $20 dollar bills. As I approached the machines, I could see a man I had never seen before crouched down with tools in hand who appeared to be repairing something or perhaps replenishing the quarter supply. I asked him, "Are the machines working?" "Are you doing laundry?" He replied. "What?" I responded, with a twinge of sarcasm. "Are you doing laundry... here?" He assertively clarified. "Ummmmm....ya" I answered. This time with unquestionable sarcasm because it seemed like the most obvious reason for being at a laundromat at 9am and I couldn't tell through his accent if he was joking. Also, at that time it was unclear why a quarter machine repairman would be drilling me with questions. Then, as if the conversation couldn't get more bizarre, he stood up and said, "Where are your clothes?" At this point I started to get annoyed. Being extremely confused and too tired to question his right to ask me the location of my dirty laundry, I answered, "In my truck." This time, my sarcasm was replaced with defensiveness as my level of confusion exponentially grew. "Go get them", he now demanded. "These are my quarters and they need to stay here. I now understood why this man was so inquisitive towards my motives for making change. I told him I had been doing laundry there for over 2 years as an attempt to show quarter loyalty. He responded by saying he had never seen me before and motioned with his hand for me to go retrieve my dirty clothes before he would let me use the machines. I never knew quarter machines needed this type of security and now understood the watchful eyes of the other employees. Regardless of my understanding, this guy was a jerk and my tolerance towards the general unfriendly and unhappy demeanor of these employees has run out. I give this business 1 star because of the way I was treated during this encounter and the encounters before this. One night about a year ago, a blonde employee locked the doors on me while I was outside on the phone smoking a cigarette waiting for my clothes to dry. My back was turned toward the laundromat front doors and when I turned around, all the lights were off and the doors were locked. It was like 10:10pm and they closed at 10pm. I know its not there job to round everyone up at 9:50 to get there clothes but when she locked the doors she had to have looked right at me and ducked out the back door. Almost as if she did it on purpose. I will never go back to this place. read more

I want to like this place for the location and proximity to my place but this place is just absolutely unacceptable! IT IS A DUMP and just getting worse. So you really cant even replace a f***ing soap despenser by the sink!!?? Really? How much could that possibly cost? Most dryers either show an error and dont work or they sound so warn its like your drying auto parts in them. Bathroom is disgusting. Overall the place just looks like it is one step away from being abandoned. At this point i dont even wait for my clothes to be fully dry bc I just want to get out of there. She deep sighs and rolls her eyes for just about anything that comes out of your mouth. lol anyway I did laundry here with my boyfriend and forgot to two loads of clothes because it was so insanely busy that day. Not realizing til a couple days later I went in during the week And s nice lady working showed me everything theyy had and even took me into the back room and I found one of my loads I thought that was all I was missing until I couldn't find a few other expensive pieces of clothes. So I went back and dealt with tHe lazy lady I explained to her what had happened and her response was "it took you a whole week to realize you're missing clothes" like????? First time here and very disappointed. Problem with the washer as it wasn't rinsing completely - its like it never even went to a rinse cycle. I showed her the washer I was using right next to it and it had no problem. I showed the lady that works there and she said "it wok, it wok...too much soap." I told her no, I didn't put too much soap (I've been doing laundry since I was 13 and that was over 20 years ago). Then she just walked away and couldn't care less.
