    Specials for This Week!

Stopped here with a big group, and we all really enjoyed the food and our experience. Prices were great, especially for the portions we received. They were able to split the check which was so helpful for us. Although we stopped by for a work lunch, I would definitely come back for a lunch with friends or family!

It felt like I walked into my grandma's kitchen with a tasty open faced turkey sandwich and pecan crusted chicken sandwich served hot! Great friendly service!

Cornerstone was a delightful and delicious find!! They have a great menu. Pot roast, meatloaf, burgers... a nice selection of refreshing wine too. Very pleasant service.

It's a pretty dark, steakhouse, vibe inside with old school Frank Sinatra-esque music in the background. The service level here was perfect, I love a place where the staff plays zone and if someone notices something then they cover it seamlessly. Nick was our server and took great care of us. we tried the following: Drinks - I had a dirty gin martini and my wife had a captain and diet (her go to) and both were perfectly mixed. Appetizers - We were really looking forward to the buratta appetizer, but it had just gone off menu, so we went with the goat cheese that replaced it, which was good (but I would cut down the number of sun-dried tomatoes by 1/3). My wife ordered the onion soup and really enjoyed it. Mains - My wife had the filet and said it was the best she has had in a long while. I am a sucker for lamb and wasn't feeling like a steak, so that is what I went with. Both were amazing and we both had mashed potatoes. Mine also came with carrots with a demi-glaze. Everything was delicious. Dessert - The restaurant was kind enough to serve my wife a complimentary dessert for her birthday. It was amazing, but we were so full we could only manage a few bites. Will definitely be back!!

It was an early seating 5:00. We were guided through a fairly empty dining room to the upstairs room. There was one couple already seated in an otherwise empty room. We were seated immediately next to them..... we may as well have been sitting at their table. I not only thought this strange but actually a bit rude. But, I did not make an objection. The food at this restaurant is always good and the wild game selection along with the specials are usually the good bets. In the past the wine list was more cost friendly but still not bad. My only criticism of the menu is the rather limited appetizer selection. Our entrees were very good but overall the experience was stilted by the poor judgement of the hostess serving us.

Of the bookmarks I had within reasonable driving distance, Sideliners Pub & Grill intrigued me the most. I ended up ordering the three piece beer battered perch with potato pancakes for the side and wings for an appetizer with half Cajun dry rub and half Jamaican BBQ jerk sauce. I thought it was interesting that the jerk sauce was specifically labeled as "Jamaican BBQ jerk" and it ended up being an accurate description. It was more BBQ flavored than jerk flavored and had almost no heat to it like jerk normal does. The Cajun rub, on the other hand, had great heat and Cajun flavor. The jerk sauce wasn't bad, but my preference was the Cajun rub. In a picture I saw of the potato pancakes they looked like they were Italian breaded, similar to mozzarella sticks. Again, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, the pancakes didn't live up to my expectations. The breading didn't have much Italian seasoning and the pancakes were like mashed potatoes formed into disks rather than more common potato pancakes that are shredded potato flavored with onion. The pancakes were my least favorite part of the meal. The perch didn't taste like yellow lake perch and was probably something cheaper like pike perch. Even though I did like the beer batter, it wasn't exactly was I was hoping for when I ordered perch, but it wasn't bad.

It was about 12:30 in the afternoon and I ordered the calamari appetizer, fillet and scallops with baked potato and steamed broccoli. My husband ordered onion rings for his appetizer, a small cheese and sausage pizza (he tries the pizza everywhere he goes) and a gyro sandwich. I honestly can't remember ever having a meal where every thing I ordered was prepared absolutely perfect and tasted amazing!! The Calamari was tender and delicious served with marinara and Parmesan, the onion rings were big, thick and delicious! The salad that came with our meal was not average by any means. It had tomato, cucumber and croutons, and not just one piece of each either! And the honey mustard dressing was really really good. I ordered my steak rare and it was very tender, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! The scallops melted in my mouth, again cooked perfectly. Oh, and the baked potato! I don't know why it was so good but it was perfectly cooked, tasted fresh and wasn't sitting in an oven too long making the skin hard. It was fluffy, buttery and probably the best baked potato I've ever had! I almost liked it better than the steak! The broccoli was steamed perfectly, bright green and crisp tender. My husband loved his pizza, it had a good amount of cheese and sausage on it, and the crust was nice and thin and crispy. He said the gyro was just average. We wanted to sit in a little more private area at the booth in the corner facing the lake, but it was taken when we got there. They were kind enough to let us move there after the people that were sitting there left. All in all it was a very good experience and we felt like were treated as if we were regulars. Even had our 40th anniversary party here (on a Monday night). It's an excellent restaurant AND with reasonable pricing. The restaurant is small and intimate. The menu is tapas style has a large variety of dishes, and they change it occasionally to keep it fresh. We started with the Brussels sprouts. They seemed deep fried, which isn't my preference, but we loved them. Garlic aoeli and Parmesan was an unexpectedly good flavor. They then served the roasted beet arugula salad. Although we don't like beets we loved this salad. One serving gave each of three of us a decent amount of salad. It had a great dressing applied in just the right amount and delicious pickled onions. The roasted beets seemed a touch mushy but were palatable to beet dislikes. Next we moved onto the scallops. We highly recommend them they arrived on a bed of pasta with some vegetables and a wonderful cream sauce. We loved them. Just be aware you need to say how many scallops you want. It's $8 per scallop. We finished with the beef tenderloin. Be careful with your requested doneness. We asked for medium rare and received rare. Otherwise they had a nice crunchy sear and a delicious flavor and accoutrements like mushrooms and the most smooth, creamy, and flavorful garlic mash I've ever had. It had five good sized slices. These three dishes filled up three of us. They serve one plate at a time which gives your meal a relaxed, social feel and also gives you time to digest. It takes about 20 minutes for the brain to receive the message you are full so I think dining at this relaxed pace allows you both to get the full flavors of each dish and also to eat just the right amount and not overeat. The only bad part of the meal was the espresso martini. Don't get it. I've tasted way better. Didn't even finish it because of not great taste.
