    Chips and salsa

I came here for lunch and met a friend. I got sat right away. Service was a little slow. It took a while to order but we got our food quickly. They give you a mild and a hot salsa. The mild was pretty bland but the hot salsa was pretty good. I got the lunch special number 5-taco, burrito, and rice. I got my daughter a kids burrito and a taco. One thing I noticed about this place is that they nickel and dime you for everything! They charge you for more chips and salsa. They charged me for shredded chicken instead of beef even though it didn't say there was a charge for it. The menu literally just says "kids burrito and taco". They also charge for to go orders. It's really a turn off. Service still wasn't that great. Our drinks were completely empty. Not sure if I would come here again.

Two years from my last review of Coronas and much is the same. The sodas are still $2.69 and we did come right after church, the place was busy. We were seated (party of 5) quickly and even though there were two other large parties, service was attentive. We only had theee soda drinkers this time so it was $8 in soda. Five people $65 plus tip. The food is good, but avoid the tamale as they are very thick and doughy with very little filling - not at all really "authentic" like the thinner, more filled, husk covered ones from other places. (Disclosure: I do order tamales from Texas over the internet, so I'm a bit of a tamale snob). Decent enough for a return visit, but be aware of the drink cost if you have a large party.

The food was good but our service was horrible. We barely got service and our waiter just seemed so annoyed with us eating here. Not sure I will be back.. #disappointing

Typical mexican food but the service and people are great. The chips and salsa are great! Good people and good food! Will revisit.

I've come here a lot. They have fairly good fajitas. I love the spicy queso dip. Standard chips and salsa upon arrival, not the best, but its free! Margaritas are huge! I really like the peach margarita that was blended, made me want to go to the beach. I would recommend this place over Willy Taco, especially for Cinco de Mayo. They really go all out on Cinco de Mayo!

Staying at a hotel nearby and this place was walking distance. Totally surprised by how good the food was! I had enchiladas rancheras and my mom had a combo. It was happy hour so the margaritas were on special. We will definitely be visiting again, fantastic food and drinks and even better service! Don't let the name keep you away lol.

My review is quite different from the others. I didn't enjoy the food at all and I will not be back. The salsa looked liked and tasted like tomato purée. This is the first time I have had a taco with no flavor. It just had beef and cheese on it. My burrito only had beef in it. The red sauce on top tasted like Ragu. I have been to tons of Mexican restaurants all over the US and Mexico and this was far from Mexican food. I have been to 5 Mexican restaurants in the area since I moved here last year and this one ranked next to last.

She was so kind, patient and knowledgeable. I asked for her opinion regarding a couple of menu items I wanted to choose from and she was more than happy to recommend what she thought I would enjoy most. Juliette also made our spicy fresh salsa herself and it was absolutely delicious! My husband had the shrimp and chicken fajita's and I had the Carne Asada and we both could not stop commenting on how excellent everything was prepared and delicious the food was! I just can't say enough about the incredible food, service and ambiance. I truly love this place and whenever I am in the Greenville area, there is nothing that could keep me from returning to this gem of a restaurant! Thank you so much Juliette for your awesome service, kindness and positive customer service we had the pleasure of enjoying while visiting with you! Juliette obviously loves her job and is truly excellent at what she does. Please ask for her when you visit as you will not be disappointed!

The interiors are colorfully decorated with plenty of indoor or bar area seating, and limited patio seating out front. I liked that their menu had cheaper options for food for those not looking to eat a full meal, which makes it ideal for visiting either before or after a game at the adjacent ballpark. Meals start off with complimentary chips and salsa, which is always appreciated while waiting for meals to be prepared. I went with 2 chicken quesadillas (one with grilled chicken and one with shredded chicken). I found both to be extremely flavorful, with high quality tortilla shell and wonderfully delicious cheese that hit all the right notes with me. Service was extremely quick and friendly as well. I wouldn't hesitate to return and would gladly recommend Viva Villa to others looking for good Mexican food in Greenville.

Chips and salsa are not complimentary, but you do get these cute little wagon wheel looking chips called duros. They're like puffed air and remind me of pork rinds but not as crunchy and probably made from flour. The drinks are all delicious and strong. The margaritas are small but watch out, they'll sneak up on you! Lots of options. They specialize in tequila and mezcal with flights as an option. The bar is the spot to be; bartenders are friendly and they have small TVs to watch whatever sports are in season. The atmosphere is a little lacking in my opinion, but it's all about the food. Food is delicious and the portions are larger than expected. We got the chips and queso, Heidi's Flautas, soup of the day, and the Birria Egg Rolls. Too much food for 2 people so we took some home.
