I love Cortina's so obviously this is not my first visit here. I was pleased to find out that they are now extending their business hours to Saturday, but sorry to hear that it was because their main location in Anaheim was closed and under repair for the next few months due to a fire! Because some habits are hard to break, I picked up my fave Cortina's Special sandwich. If you love Italian cold cuts, then this is the sub for you! It starts on their own specially baked roll, lightly flaky on the outside with a soft pillowy filling on the inside. Meat piled on (ham, salami, cap) with fresh produce and oil & vinegar. Delicious slices of provolone cheese adds to the rich flavor of this sandwich. I've had sandwiches to compare, but the never really equate to or surpass the bar of standards that Cortina's has set! I hope that even after the Anaheim location re-opens, that Orange will continue with its extended hours to service not just the weekday workers but also the local residents who may not work in the area during the week (like yours truly). And perhaps consider adding pizza to the menu? Ha, but one thing at a timed! :) read more

If you want to try this place out - order online! I came at 11:30am to try to beat the lunch rush but the parking lot was already full (even the extended lot in the back) so I had to do a few roundsto wait for a spot to open up. When I went inside, their kitchen was already super busy preparing orders and sandwiches from online orders were piling up on the side already. Crazy! I ordered their signature sandwich - the Cortina Special to see if it lived up to the hype - overall I'd say 8/10. It was a SOLID cold cut sandwich. Bread was perfect, held everything together. Seasoning was there - but a tad too vinegary/acidic for me. The meats and cheeses were flavorful and abundant. If there was a cold cut sandwich contest, they'd prob win. The only thing is.. it didn't knock my socks off and I wasn't craving it again the next day. Those sandwiches are 10/10. Maybe there was too much hype? I also made the mistake of getting salt and vinegar chips so I think I was just overwhelmed with vinegar. I am excited to come back and try the other sandwiches though. read more

6 years later and it's still the best Italian Sub I've ever had. I've brought them a lot of business as every friend or family member i have recommended to them has fallen in love. I really love the Anaheim location because of the market next door. They have a bunch of fun and delicious things to try on the menu and it's always so hard to choose. I would go an hour out of my way or longer to eat here. My ONLY complain is the fountain drink selection is way too sweet. I love the old fashioned looking sodas, but I wish they would just get plain ole Coke/Diet coke. The diet they offer tastes super weird and I've had it a number of times. Love ya Cortinas! read more

Cortina's is extremely good! My favorite sandwich here is the french dip. The meat has a unique taste. The atmosphere inside the place is very unique. Whenever I come here everyone appears to be happy, the place can get busy during lunch hour (and I can see why). This is one of the best places to go for lunch when you're in the area. I absolutely love Cortina's. All the food here is great. I often call in my order and tried again today. They have implemented a new online order system. Apparently they decided they no longer need to answer their phone because of this. They just let it ring and ring. When I arrived, they were barely busy. I was calling on speakerphone whole driving...I option to go online. 3 stars just for the great food. Technology is no excuse for poor customer service. read more

I do not always have a chance to enjoy a nice lunch out, but today we were able to go out. Unfortunately, and sadly this experience was awful due to a few reasons. The main reason was how busy the small restaurant was, how dirty the tables were, and mostly how long it took for us to receive our sandwiches. There was a very long line before we ordered and several people waiting already, and yet All those customers received their sandwiches before us. After 30 some minutes and still nothing..... I walked up to the front, and shared my frustration and all I got was an "I'm sorry." Our one hour lunch was waiting and watching others eat that came way after us. Just an awful experience and they disappointed manager or the employees that took our order didn't care either. Made us feel as if we did something wrong for complaining....Wouldn't you??? read more

Based on the reviews here I was hoping this would have been better, but nah, sadly I was mistaken. Now granted, I may have gone on an off day but boy I was not happy with my lunch today. My office recently moved to Orange about two months ago so, being unfamiliar with the daily eats in the area I tend to rely heavily on the Yelp reviews. So based off that me and a coworker went. She was familiar with their other location in Anaheim and said it was good. Ok, so cool, my choice is good (or so I thought) I order the baked lasagna which comes with garlic bread all for $9.07. (I ordered water as my beverage) After I found an available seat, the food arrived relatively quickly, so I thought this is great. I first noticed how large the portion of the lasagna is - another good thing. But then I took a bite and was disappointed in how bland it was and not meaty it was . I even sprinkled my usual red pepper flakes in the vain hope that it would vastly improve this meager lasagna. Nope, I was wrong. The marinara sauce is too tomato-y, which is of course the main ingredient, but it just tasted super bland. I didn't even eat a quarter of it. I did eat the garlic bread which was also sub par but I had no choice as I needed to be fed and wasn't going to leave without something in my belly. I do realize perhaps I ordered the wrong thing and I am willing to go back to try something else. But if that marinara sauce is on it, then no way man, I'm not falling for that ol trick. Overall if you want awesome, meaty lasagna then I'd go to Alejo's in Westchester. Now THAT is the bomb. Love Cortina's!! Best sandwich in OC! If you want a hot sandwich try the meatball. My go to is the All-American on the cold side. I've had them all, and they are all great. Try to arrive before noon though or it'll be too busy. My only knock on Cortina's before was the parking, and that's been addressed. Cannot possibly recommend this place more!! So good!!! Also, if anyone has tried a pasta let me know. They look great but I've never been able to go in and not get a sandwich! Haha read more

I came here earlier today around lunch time. It was busy, but the service was still fast! It was my first time here and I was surprised to find such a great place in the industrial part of orange. I got "the willie" sandwich and was amazed at the flavours, contrasting beautifully amongst each other. The bread was delicious, the meat was great quality, and the way the cranberry and cheese mixed together, I cannot wait to try their other sandwiches now. I am not a sandwich person. I've tried sandwiches everywhere from France to New York. Cortinas is DA BOMB! Their sandwiches are cheap, clean, tasty, and authentic. The bread is the best part. It's not super thick and doughy, so you do not leave feeling stuffed with bread. My god, this place is so good. I had the french dip, finished that, and went back for the pastrami. I HIGHLY REC. When I saw this place on my Yelp app, I didn't think it'd be popular as it was..until I got there. I got there at the best time too, during lunch hour. Line was slightly out the door, but worth the wait. I had a 6" pastrami sandwich, which was..$8.99 I believe, or $7. I just know, some of the 10" subs they had, reached into the $10 mark. I've had sandwiches that costs the same out here around my work area (DTLA), and aren't up to par. So overall, it's not too bad. There IS inside seating, as well as outdoor seating, all is kept clean as well. Service was great, friendly and quick. This is a great lunch spot. It is packed usually but they move fast and there is inside and outside seating. I ordered the regular size Philly Cheesesteak. I often complain about the lack of decent cheesesteak options in So Cal. While this is not necessarily a traditional cheesesteak, it is quite tasty. The bread has good flavor. It is substantial without overwhelming the sandwich. The meat is tender, juicy and seasoned right. They smother it with a good portion of mozzarella cheese. A hidden gem! Great sandwiches, perfect for lunch! Have had the Cortina Sub, Pastrami, Tuna and Turkey - I liked them all. They use fresh ingredients, the bread is fresh with a crunchy crust outside and portions are big (we'll I'm a girls so the 6' is plenty for me)! You can order ahead too so you don't have to wait, if you're in a hurry. They're open Monday - Friday until early afternoon so make time to come by during the work day otherwise you'll have to go the original in Anaheim. I highly recommend Cortina's! I ordered their Gnocchi Rosa and let me tell you I was not disappointed, definitely ordering it again...but in a month because it can get dangerous if you're watching your weight like I am ;). I use to frequent the original Cortina's when I worked near Anaheim. When I heard they had this location I just had to try it! For those who remember the early days of the Prosciutto sandwich here, it use to be the most delicious sandwich EVAR! Quality meat on a fresh french roll. The cheese was quality and fresh. It was a thing of beauty! Fast forward to 2013, you have to pay nearly $12 for that sandwich (which use to be $7) and now its only on the 6" roll. Now don't get me wrong, their sandwiches are still great, but we're talking $9-12 for a sandwich! I guess if I worked there I would still get the Fireball, Prosciutto+Cheese or meatball during the week, but not with the same joy I once did... Oh, and for those people who ordered the non sandwich and complained, this place is KNOWN for the SANDWICHES! For the love of god, order a sandwich if it's your first trip here! SMH read more

My officemate was drinking garlic that led me to crave Italian food. Provided that I only have 30 minutes lunch, I had to order takeout. Came across this place with great reviews and I had to give it a try. The first day I had spaghetti which was very good. I love the pasta as it was perfectly boiled. The two meatballs were good size too. I am still having lingering craving for it. On the second day I tried their Prosciutto special of $12 of 6" sub. It was good. I can taste and smell the basil. The mozzerella was fresh. It just doesn't get better than this! Next, I am going to try their french dip. The missing star is due to its super crowded place and no signs that indicate for pick-up vs. take order line. But, yes, there are 2 distinguishing lines. On the first day I stayed in the wrong line until someone who came after verified with the cashier. Luckily the man was kind enough to acknowledge that I was there before him and let me go first. With 30 minute lunch, I have no time for mistakes like that. Also, confusing parking area... the neighboring businesses have ample parking but only if you are those respective customers. You can easily miss Cortina's parking alley. Signs would be helpful. read more
