The food is delicious here. We had the shrimp toast, sand dabs, pizza, the lasagna made with bone marrow ( a special of the day) and everything was fresh, hot and love the pizza. TLDR: the pizza is banging and recommended if that's the only thing you're going for. Everything else is good (not great, not worse). Reservations can be made on Resy sans deposit. They have street parking that's free after 6pm. Lots of outdoor heated seating, some indoor and plenty bar seats. I think everyone makes a reservation, I didn't see any walk ins or wait on a Friday evening. We tried the supreme veg pizza sans mushroom and my partner loved it! We also had sand dabs and a side of broccolini and spinach. Those were alright. I liked that there was no salt in the breading or veg but people may not appreciate the lack of seasoning. Drinks are mid (3/5) - cannoli negroni doesn't feel like or have a pronounced character described in the menu (ricotta wash) and the cervo (bourbon ginger) was refreshing but not unique or mind-blowing. It's $18 so at that price point it needs to be phenomenal. Cheesecake was ok, felt like a rigid panna cotta texture. I went to Cosetta for the second time with a friend, and we had such a nice time! It was decorated for the holidays which was such a sweet touch. Our waitress suggested we order something like 6 dishes to share, which we thought would be way too much food. Thankfully, we decided on just the chop salad and a pizza. Both were very tasty, and the salad portion was enormous! We ended up taking home some of the pizza (we ordered the pepperazzi) and it was so yummy. This lightly battered chicken was incredible with the bright acidic sauce paired with fresh tomatoes. A must have The shells. I forget what it's called since it's new on the menu but these sauced up shells have been fired off in the oven to create a crispy (but not dry) crunch that was phenomenal. That was gone in seconds Cosetta Caesar. If you're a fan of a creamy Caesar with crumbled croutons you will love this as did I! Pate & bread. As a pate lover this was so delicious paired with their sourdough bread (that doesn't cut your mouth). Of course can't go wrong with mozzarella sticks. I don't need an explanation. I think the concept of Cosetta is great! It's really cozy, amazing aesthetics, and the experience that we get was really fun. You can tell people really like coming here. The service is pretty well run as well. I just have some gripes about the menu and cost. The food is pretty decent, we ordered the Caesar salad, two pizzas, and a steak. I think everything except for the steak is just okay, they're made well but something wasn't connecting for me to really give a wow factor. Then the pizza came and they asked if we wanted ranch and chili crisps and we were like sure! But it ended up on the bill for an extra $2 and $4 respectively and I think that is what incensed me a little bit. I felt a bit blindsided and it kind of ruined my experience. The steak was definitely really good though, and our table ate it up really quickly whereas we would stare at the last bite for the other dishes. Overall I think this place is probably fine for a date night, it's just that be prepared to have your wallet cry a little. I think the value proposition is like not as amazing as it could be but if that's not your concern then I think this place definitely is a go to. read more

Once you navigate the parking, surrounded by dull rectangular office buildings, you will happen upon a classy, stylish joint offering Italian food in an upscale setting. The menu consists of bread and accompaniments, a mostly raw bar, small plates, salads, pizza, large plates and I Milanesi. My friend and I shared the Caesar salad, Buratta dumplings and Guanciale pizza. The Caesar was quite delicious, well dressed with anchovy fillets and a generous array of chicory, romaine and cheese. The burrata dumplings came on a bed of spicy arugula, but were a bit bland and one note. The Guanciale pizza leaned on the salty side, but the crust was thin and flavorful. I enjoyed the pork jowl, which was tender and thinly sliced. I couldn't taste the pollen though over the salt. As for cocktails, we tried the Cervo, a ginger forward bourbon cocktail that was nicely balanced and not too sweet. Loved it. Next time I'll be sure to come early for the weekday happy hour from 4 to 5 PM. They have a fire pit that will be lovely on a summer night. With no reservations available online we called to see if they could seat walk-ins (in 10 minutes time); we were told there were two seats (they could not reserve) at the bar, which were still there when we wandered in on Saturday night at 6:30. Loud, lively open space. The crowd ranged from families with small children to significantly older couples. The menu (which I'd only given a cursory glance beforehand) was standard, nothing unusual or notable. The $21 bluefin tartar on a was fine, but the ossobuco aioli added little to no flavor. The $22 Biancoverde Pizza with basil, spinach, cheeses and garlic had nice texture and flavor. We genuinely liked it, but agreed we wouldn't race back for it. Our reservation was for 2 PM. At 2:15 the manager came over and said we had to put all our orders in, and the kitchen was closing. We were rushed on a Sunday afternoon on Mother's Day. They dropped everything right away to get us out. I took my wife, my daughter and my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law can barely walk so to take her out is a process and something special. I get it. Fantastic! I am always trying to find a good go-to pizza delivery one the west side, and have been disappointed for years... until discovering Cosetta. The crust is great- the right amount of crispy crunch when you bite in, to then get to the center- for this to be so perfect, after delivery time, right out the box?! I love the sauce, It has the slight sweetness, heat And depth of flavor that I haven't come across in pie in a long time. I got the supreme, and really appreciated that it was different from what you usually see on menus. You have a mix of a New York style pie, but done at more of an elevated level. Lots of texture and a wonderful dressing. The mozzarella sticks were good, not great. Like, how are these not amazing? I though the pizza would be like Sotto but it was dry, cracker like and paper thin. The crust is super dry. Not sure why he went in this direction when this chef is capable of making the best pizza in the world. The Milanesi was the best part of the meal. But it was timed so poorly by the time we got it, we were full. There are a lot of people scurrying around, but no one checks on you are makes eye contact so you can't get anyone's attention. Cosetta might not set its foot in the middle of the arrays of restaurants and cafes around the neighborhood, yet it made a perfect new dining spot with uberly gorgeous setting. Not only the indoor space, but also the outdoor one. The BOHO color mix with vibrant and earthy elements stood strong, and in a bright sunny day, the outdoor patio was just impeccable place to enjoy. Being relatively new, reservation was highly recommended especially during weekend and peak hours. I arrived just right before noon on a Sunday, and though it looked quite in the beginning, just in few minutes the venue started to reach its full occupancy. They carried slightly different lunch and dinner menu, with dinner one was probably more rich in selections but the lunch one surely offered plenty of options as well. Despite being busy, all the servants were super attentive, making it such outstanding first impression on the service. We started with their Caesar, which was colorful in presentations and surely brought quite generous mix of tasty ingredients. I loved the idea that it featured anchovies as it just enriched the overall flavors, and it's great that the seasoning wasn't overpowering, letting the veggies to still stand out. The next one we opted for was their 'Stepmother', their house version of Italian sandwich. The size was pretty filling if you went solo, but for sharing it worked better IMO, particularly if you wanna go for more pizzas. They were pretty generous in the stuffing, both the veggie and the meat, and the taste was decent although I wouldn't call out anything distinctive compared to similar ones served elsewhere. For me the highlights were more on their pizzas, for which my friends and I tried 2 of the white-based ones; Biancoverde and Peparazzi. I was kinda torn which ones were better as I thought each of them had their own unique selling point. The first one served those who wanna go meatless best, yet even for me who loved meat I did think it's flavorful especially how the garlic flavor stood out. Being a fan of pizza featuring ricotta, I really recommended to give it a try and it's definitely smart idea to blend it with spinach as the topping. The later was certainly for the meat lovers out there, and this one had the bolder flavor profile bringing together soppressata and pepper. It played with that sweet and spicy dynamic duo, complemented by the certainly not-to-miss mozzarella. All their pizzas came in 12 inch size and sliced into 6. I work in SMBP so I've watched for months as this restaurant was being built out. Shortly after they opened, my coworkers began to rave about how good the food is, so I thought it was time myself and a girlfriend paid it a visit. We came during their happy hour (4 - 5 p.m.) which offered a few dollars off their pizza, a couple of their salads and drinks. We ordered their caesar salad, funghi town and biancoverde pizzas. The food came out super fast and we enjoyed everything! The interior was also an incredible sight to see considering the outside is kind of bland. We came to Cosetta last Friday and had a mostly enjoyable evening. The ambiance is super cute and vibey, definitely a place I'd come back to for the atmosphere alone. The food was solid: we had the tuna tartare, mozzarella sticks, and a pizza. Everything tasted great, though nothing really blew us away. Where things fell flat was the service. Our server, Kaylan, felt off from the start like he was reciting a memorized script rather than actually engaging with us. That alone wouldn't have been a big deal, but his demeanor toward the end of our meal was really off-putting. We had a warm interaction with another staff member (possibly an expediter) who kindly offered to box up our leftovers and include two sides of their amazing ranch, which we'd requested. When we noticed the ranch wasn't in the bag, we asked Kaylan for it and his reaction was weirdly annoyed. He kind of sighed and said, "yeaaaaahhh ummm okay I guess..." before trailing off. When we asked if it was a problem, he told us he'd have to charge us for it, which again, totally fine, but the way he handled it made us feel like we were being difficult or asking for too much. To top it off, when it came time to pay, he hovered while we checked out on the mobile device, which made us feel obligated to choose one of the higher preset tip amounts even though the service didn't merit it. Went to Cosetta for the first time the other week and while the service and ambiance were great, I thought the food was a little lackluster. I feel like one of the tentpoles of this restaurant is their pizza, and I just wasn't impressed at all with the three pizzas my table ordered. We got the classic Margherita, Peparazzi, and the Hawaiian Sunrise pizza. The Marg was a little heavy handed on the basil and less so on the mozzarella and was a little flavorless. My favorite part was the crust which was nice and fluffy. However I did really enjoy the mozzarella sticks and the caesar salad that we ordered for the table! I thought the mozzarella sticks had such a nice crust and the perfect amount of cheese and they came to the table hot. The caesar salad was really interesting! I thought it was cool how they had whole anchovies on there and you got a nice mix of different greens. The breadcrumbs gave it that perfect crunch too. For dessert we tried the pressed ice cream sandwich and the polenta almond cake. I found the almond cake dry and flavorless and would not order that again. The ice cream sandwich was interesting, but wouldn't really go for that again either. The ice cream was good, but the glazed doughnut was a little greasy and salty and I didn't think the flavors mixed together extremely well. Overall, a lot of what I ate here did not leave me excited to come back with the exception of the caesar salad and mozzarella sticks. The service was lovely though, our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The heated patio was very cute and vibey, perfect for a date night. What do you when you take your daughter to Santa Monica for an audition and then realize it's 3:00pm and going to take 2.5 to 3 hrs to drive what should take an hour or less to get home?! You search Yelp for somewhere to grab dinner. That's how Nolie and I found Cosetta. I saw it was ranked #3 for dining out in the area I was searching and I saw Italian. Intrigued by that and the name, I figured let's give it a try. It was only a mile away, which in Santa Monica at 3pm took over 20 minutes to get there. But they didn't open till 4 so we charged the car while we waited. Luckily they had chargers in their lot and they validated parking - double win. At 4, on the nose, we walked in and were promptly greeted. The place looked nice from the outside and certainly didn't disappoint inside. A fairly small interior restaurant but a well designed bar and inside seating area. Quite cool temp inside and an atmosphere I really enjoyed. I asked Nolie if she wanted to sit inside or outside and she chose the latter. Good thing as they have a large outside seating area that perfectly complements the aesthetic of the interior. Only drawback is the street noise but after a few minutes I forgot it was there. Other than the occasional honk. Within seconds we had water on the table and a waitress pleasantly greeting us with the type of smile that makes you smile. She was genuine and helpful, which made me feel we were in for both good service and great food. I was right. We didn't mean to come at happy hour as we were just escaping traffic but alas, we had stumbled upon Cosetta at just the right time. I ordered a Menebrea Italian Lager and Nolie, being 17, had water. We asked out waitress what she recommend as it was really just a couple of salads, two apps, and pizzas on the happy hour menu - and she shared that the Cosetta Caesar is a fave of hers. So, we ordered the Peparazzi Pizza and the Casear to split. The salad joined our table first and as it arrived I could tell it wasn't your typical Caesar as it donned actual anchovies. I thought to myself, hmm, my British dad used to eat anchovies from a can... and... I like Caesar salads with that have anchovies (in the dressing where I can't see them)... so what the heck, give it a try. First bite, just the salad and crumbly topping. Mmmmmmm. So good. So, second bite... add the anchovies and a little extra salad just in case. Huh... even better. I'm a fan. Before we finished the Caesar the Peparazzi Pizza showed up. As it approached, I could nearly taste it. It smelled so good and it came straight from the pizza oven. I had flashbacks of a fave pizza that Gwen (my wife) and I talk about till this day in Hells Kitchen, NY. I think I even grinned a bit in excitement to switch from the salad over to the pizza. As I went to grab a slice it was so hot that I actually paused for about a minute. Which, to me, is a beautiful thing. As soon as it was possible to take a bite without scalding the roof of my mouth, I did... oh yeah... immediately I could tell I was going to love this pizza and put it on my top 10 list. The crust was just the right thickness in the middle and a perfect mix of crispy on the outside and soft and just the right amount of chewiness on the inside. It was flavorful and fresh and the sauce and toppings perfectly complemented each other. I paused to take a sip of the Menebrea realizing I accidentally ordered an Italian beer that made both my pizza and my heart sing even more. The balanced bitterness of my golden lager paired with an almost perfect pizza left me with nothing else to do except savor each bite, each sip, and each moment. Nolie was a ditto on everything but the beer of course. She loved the Caesar and the Peparazzi too. Considering that was a happy hour meal, I'm very much looking forward to returning for dinner with my wife and friends. Fantastic atmosphere, service, and exceptional food. I'd give you 10 stars if I could. And, our waitress was a big part of that too. It was such a simple nothing moment - a dinner before crazy traffic home, yet you turned it into an experience for us. Other restaurants should take note. It's not that hard, but it is. You have to care, and I could tell they do care at Cosettas. read more

Atmosphere is great. Beautiful space both inside and out. Food is mid - got the pasta shells, lasagna, fungi pizza, cesar salad, and tuna appetizer. Shells and Cesar were good. The lasagna was non traditional, it was 2 layers and very flat. read more
