If you're looking for a traditional American fare breakfast spot, this place might honestly just be for you! It's one of Cambrian's finest places, and let's just say: you're in for a treat at this establishment. Here's how my experience went: We went in approximately half an hour after they opened their doors for the day. There were still lots of empty spaces open, so we opted for the side of the restaurant as we were comfortable there. I got the Denver style omelette with hash browns, and even ordered some of their orange juice. The orange juice, I could tell, was freshly squeezed with heart. The Denver omelette was cooked well, with all the ingreidents inside cooked well to one's satisfaction. Service was courteous, fairly quick, and they definitely gave us time to look through the menu and order our preferences.

This is our Hoya breakfast spot in Sundays after coming from Church On The Hill. The location is convenient, the wait time has significantly decreased now that you can put your name on the list through Yelp! The service and staff are amazing, friendly and hardworking and the food is excellent. I've only had breakfast and lunch but look forward to coming here for dinner as well. It's a great place to eat with family and friends and they have indoor and outdoor seating.

    RIB EYE BONE IN $55

Overall 3.5 stars. Here's a quick rundown of this standard American fare: Food (2.5 stars) - Beef eggs Benedict was an off menu item. I should've stuck with the salmon which was my original intent. The beef was thinly sliced and lightly seasoned. It didn't really work together for this breakfast meal I'm having at lunch. Loved the hash browns though. It has a nice crispy layer. - Bone in ribeye comes with salad, mashed potatoes, and side of steamed veggies. The steak is cooked to order with excellent grill marks but you have to add your own salt as it came unseasoned. It was also cut a little thin for my liking. My friend raved so much about this ribeye that I had too high expectations. I'm sorry but I'd rather go to LB steakhouse for ribeye. Service (4.5 stars) + I forget her name, but the waitress helping us has a great smile, and attitude. She kept asking if all is well and shared juicy restaurant gossip. + Food came out in a reasonable time. I was able to have my lunch within the hour. Ambiance (4.5 stars) + It's a decent diner with elegant light fixtures and slightly updated furnishings. There's a bar with sports on the tv, booth style seating and a typical diner counter. I will come back for their breakfast style food. Next time I'd stick with the menu. And I'll stick with traditional steakhouses for steak dinners.

1st visit to this location. I ordered green chilaquiles with steak and Irish coffee. The chips were nice and crispy (how I like it!) and a bit of spice! The steak was a bit overdone but still tasty. The Irish coffee was strong and flavorful. Service was great- would recommend and return!

My friend and I had a lovely lunch here. He chose the place and is a regular, but it was my first time here. The restaurant is located in a large, newish strip mall in the Cambrian Park area. The menu is either the same or very much like the Mission City Grill in Santa Clara, so it seems they might be a small chain; I believe they serve breakfast all day. I had the crab melt, which was excellent; it comes with a choice of salad, soup, or French fries. I chose the salad, and it was very good. They don't have honey mustard dressing here, so I had the Thousand Island. My friend had the banana pancakes and a side of bacon. The portion of pancakes was huge, with plenty of sliced bananas and whipped cream. Somehow, he managed to eat most of it. The service was excellent. Chances are good that I will be back. :)

Had brunch at this location and I was impressed by our server who was delightful. It was very crowded but they took our names and we were seated in ten minutes. I have to say it again: Our Server was amazing! I had the Joes special and it was cooked to perfection! My wife had the eggs Benedict and she was pleased! Little noisy but not so intrusive that you are not able to have conversation! I really enjoyed the food and we will be back!

Saw this place after working out nearby and had to try out after craving breakfast/brunch. Upon entering was greeted immediately by the host and was seated right away. They have a counter if you don't want a booth and also a bar as well. Orders steak & eggs with hash brown and a pancake with a side of fruit. The steak was juicy but was lacking seasoning. The has brown was very crispy and not greasy at all. Eggs were cooked to perfection and the pancakes were decent. The fruit was fresh and juicy. Overall a solid place for breakfast if you're in the south side of San Jose. Will come back and try their lunch menu.

Good American brunch spot! Cozy but very popular and busy. The food is solid and they have an extensive menu. The hashbrowns are super crispy which was a plus.

Jack Holder's is just a couple miles from where I live, so I decided to have my lunch delivered from there. Ordered a BLT with garlic fries, chocolate shake, and apple bread pudding. BLT: Was supposed to include avocado, but didn't. Garlic fries: They were ok, but there was no ketchup. Luckily I had some at home. Chocolate shake: Tasted like vanilla. There was no straw. Apple bread pudding: Was supposed to include vanilla soft serve, but didn't. This was an expensive lunch and I ended up throwing half of it away because it just didn't taste good.

We had lunch here over the weekend here and i couldn't believe how packed the place was. Our name was put on the list and we were seated within 5 minutes, which was quick. We were seated in a nice clean booth. We both ordered the grilled rosemary chicken sandwich. I chose the soup for my side and my husband got the salad. Our food arrived quickly with our sides arriving first. My soup was the fideo chicken and it was delicious. The salad my hubby ordered looked really good and it was big. Our sandwiches arrived shortly after that and we both thought they were excellent. The grilled chicken was moist and juicy and full of flavor. Our service was also excellent. We will definitely be returning.

My only complaint was the steak. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium well, a bit dry and was tougher than expected, making it difficult to cut. It was still tasty--just not cooked quite the way I was hoping. The mimosas were good too, a great value. The staff is polite and courteous. They left a signed note on the table for my husband's birthday which was a sweet gesture. For the drinks, we started with the jean claude pandan, pandan being the my husband's current favorite ingredient in food and drinks. I had the drink with dill, which the server warned me about being centered around the flavor if pickles (which I am personally fond of). The pandan drink was a light and refreshing highball and I found the dill cocktail to be creamy and delicious, but didn't really leave me with a sour aftertaste. For food, we went with the drip trio platter which came with fresh pita bread pieces, and the drip trio of hummus with roe on top, chilled tzatziki, and muhammara. Then we moved on to the oysters which were fresh, will a dressing of an herb oil of some sort. They also had a complementary palette cleanser in between which was a shot of watermelon and orange juice. For maincourse, my husband went for the tagliatelle and I chose the ravioli, both choices were corroborated by our server to be the right ones to go for. The tagliatelle is expensive because of the lobster and caviar that it comes with. However, the pasta is delicious and comes in a decadent sauce. Not a lot of lobster pieces though. The ravioli had a robust mushroom flavor and came with a light sauce of mushrooms, crispy fried shallots, and pine nuts. We skipped dessert because we were pretty full already. Would definitely recommend this place for a cozy dinner out but it's quite expensive so might not be a place to go to frequently.
