I have been driving past the Country Kitchen for months and my curiosity got the best of me & here we are. Its located in a small strip mall off Cherry & Spring. I believe its family owned. The waitress was amazing, very friendly & attentive, very pleasant & she kept my wifes coffee cup full. It took less than 10 minutes to get our food, which was nice. The menu is pretty basic but I was told to.try the pancakes next time, unlike most places the fruit is cooked intonthe pancakes not just placed on top. We spoke to one of the owners before we left and gave praise to our waitress, Verniece, left compliments on the food and service. We will definitely be back
I'll be coming back here. The food and the service is 5 stars for sure. My veggie omelette was loaded. Mucho delicioso! The toast came pre buttered and it was perfect. Pancakes were fluffy buttery and syrupy . OJ was cold and slightly pulpy (which I like) . They do have a restroom in the rear. Always a plus. Family vibe in here. The staff are so friendly. Thank you
Country kitchen is that hole in the wall that becomes a staple for breakfast when you don't cook. The ambiance and customer service is sooooo good.You know there is so much love when the waiter is so knowledgeable and give little facts and details about the menu/food. I got the blueberry pancakes combo. And everything was really really good . The pancakes were buttery and had a good amount of blueberry. Also another thing that stood out was the breakfast potatoes. My boyfriend got them done extra crispy and they were so good we ordered another side of them. Definitely coming back
I heard all about the granola pancakes, so I had to try those. They have banana pancakes, blueberry pancakes, and the granola pancakes taste like all the flavors of pancakes rolled into one and then they add granola. They lived up to all the hype. You should definitely take the first few bites without syrup. They are moist and delicious by themselves or with just a little smear of butter. The other surprise was the house made sausage patty. The waitress recommended it when I upgraded to the combo and I tend to listen to the people that work there. They know what's up. That patty was the best sausage I have ever tasted. Tasted like it came right from the butcher then onto the grill and onto my plate. Fresh, fatty, salty and some unique spices inside it. Eggs were fluffy and my coffee got filled 3 times. The seating is limited so come early or try your luck with the wait. They do turn their tables over pretty fast though. Staff is quick. Highly recommend this spot.
We have been here a few times for breakfast and every time we come in the service is great. The waitress is nice and attentive to make sure you have what you need. The ambience of the restaurant makes you feel like you are at home eating some good food. My favorite dish here is the country fried steak and eggs. The steak is perfectly breaded and the sausage gravy they put on top has a really good taste and not too salty. I usually get my eggs scrambled and they are always fluffy, I would love to know their secret. The house potatoes that I steal from my boyfriend's plate are pretty good, too. I like the crispy ones so maybe next time, I will ask for well done. Overall, great breakfast spot but it can get a bit busy, but definitely worth the wait. Service is great and quick which is a plus when you are hungry. We will definitely be back.
I've been coming here for over a year fairly consistently. It's only gotten better and better. Today, for the first time, I tried their famous granola pancake. It's full of bananas, blueberries and granola. I don't know how but they managed to keep the granola crunchy which adds to the enjoyment of the dish. As I have heard people say, try the pancake without the syrup first. It really doesn't need any. I always enjoy playful banter with Yusi. She's an excellent server and I recently learned that she is the owner. This must be the reason why it's gotten better and better. I also want to shout out to Owen. He was the busser. Speaking of bussers, he was busting his rear during a very busy rush. He kept a clear head and kept focused on the tasks at hand. Great spot, busy for a reason. Parking can be tricky.
Wifey wanted to come here while we were in the area. Nice small restaurant in a small strip mall. We ordered the Farmers sandwich and the Piggy omelette. The food was delicious and cooked fresh. My order came with a biscuit and gravy- the gravy was bland and the biscuit was too hard. Decent and quiet place with not too much noise. Friendly and efficient service too. Come on in folks.
Located off East Spring St in Long Beach. Parking is small it's shared with the other businesses in this small little strip area. The place is not too big had a good amount of tables to dine in. They are only opened till 2pm so they serve only breakfast and lunch. The staff were friendly. I got the 2 eggs with 4 bacon strips and the homemade biscuits and gravy. The service was good and pretty quick. Overall had a good experience here the food can be a bit pricey for breakfast but I feel they gave enough to suffice the price. I'll have to come here to try the lunch items next time.

Sometimes you just want a straightforward meal, and Country Kitchen fit the bill. The place itself had a cozy, no-frills feel, and our waitress was quick, friendly, and efficient. We received our food in good time, which is always a plus. As for the meal, it was okay--not bad, but nothing that stood out either. It filled the spot, but it wasn't the kind of food that makes you rave or crave a repeat visit. Overall, Country Kitchen is a fine place for a quick bite when you're hungry and want friendly service without the fuss.
Great service and comfort food for breakfast, brunch, or lunch only. In addition to omelettes and toast, they have sandwiches such as tuna melt, salads, burgers, and burritos. Vegetarian options include veggie burger and veggie omelette. Additional options include egg whites, grilled cheese, and kids meals. They are famous for their home fries and freshly made orange juice and strawberry jam.
Be careful here. They don't take food safety seriously - I was served a pink hamburger. The server said the cook must have rushed it since he was on the way out from his shift. Super gross. Maybe breakfast is safer here but I'd at least avoid the burger.
Country Kitchen is located on Cherry and Spring in Long Beach, about a mile away from the Long Beach Airport. It serves diner classics like pancakes, chicken fried steaks, omelets, and the like. I came on a Sunday morning and there was no wait to get in at 11am. The food was prepared nicely and the country fried steak and home fries were seasoned well. They offer biscuits and gravy as an option for your bread with any of their breakfasts and it was nice; however, the gravy was bland. I went with a standard pancake combo with scrambled eggs and sausage and it was exactly what I wanted - no more or no less. They do have the option for a "granola pancake", which offers some crispy textures in your pancakes, but that's not what I was craving. Overall, I left happy and I got what I was hoping for. I felt that Country Kitchen was a solid place for a diner meal with no frills.
Had an amazing breakfast. I've heard so much about their granola pancakes that I had to try them. I've eaten here many times but usually get something on the savory side. Also, their soups are amazing and they will serve it for breakfast too. Back to my breakfast. The pancakes were full of granola, which gave it a nice crunchy texture, as well as fresh blueberries and bananas. I only ate half and will finish my other half later. Waitress said I could order a single pancake next time. Made it a combo with two eggs over easy and. House made sausage patty. That sausage patty was so worth it as well. I also asked for some salsa for my eggs and it was all so delicious. If you are nearby, give this place a go. You'll love it too! Flew into Long Beach Airport on a Saturday morning and was starving. Quick Yelp search and found the Country Kitchen a short 7 minute drive from the airport. Pics, reviews all looked good so seemed like a no brainer. This place did not disappoint but was also a great experience. First off our waiter was a young man (teenager) that displayed polish and professionalism far beyond his young age. Owen was knowledgeable, articulate & friendly. We mentioned we were first timers and needed his recommendations. He gladly described their most popular menu items and added that his personal favorite were the Granola Pancakes. They are now our personal favorites too. This young man has a bright future and his mother should be commended for raising such a solid young man. When we're back in the area we'll definitely be back. read more

First time eating here, we ordered sausage (was greasy on the bottom) & eggs over easy with potatoes & sourdough toast and the veggie jumble with biscuits & gravy which was excellent. The restaurant and restroom are clean, service is friendly and attentive, food is well prepared and tasty. I would go back. read more
Back at Country Kitchen and I must it was another wonderful breakfastexperience. The Granola Pancakes were genuinely the best pancakes I have ever had and they are so unique and delicious. The Portuguese Sausage and home fries is also delicious. The food is unpretentious, and delicious. The service staff are attentive and warm. Relax atmosphere, the dining area is a bit cramp at times especially during the busy hours. Also parking can be a nightmare, but it's not the restaurant's fault. read more

10/10!! First off, service was amazing! Our servers were these nice ladies who were so attentive with everything, they constantly checked up on us, refilled my coffee, AND my creamer that she noticed I liked more of which is the french vanilla flavor. Such sweet and nice people, truly felt so taken care of. My husband ordered the combo plate with 2 eggs scrambled, that came with your choice of toast or homemade biscuits and gravy, and home fries. He absolutely devoured the plate. The toast was perfect! It was buttered and toasted lightly, came with this strawberry jam THAT THEY MAKE (which was sooo good. I ordered the veggie jumble which has 3 eggs scrambled with home fries, spinach, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers & tomatoes. It also came with a side of toast or homemade biscuits and gravy. Just add salt, pepper, hot sauce.... that's it, it was so filling and satisfying. This restaurant gives me home style cooking which I enjoyed a lot. In addition, the price for everything was such a good deal! I mean great service, great food, great prices...what more can you ask? I definitely recommend trying this place, it will not disappoint. I've been wanting to try Country Kitchen in Signal Hill for a while and finally made it in for an early morning meeting with a client. Service was great, and the restaurant was clean with a nice ambiance. I ordered the turkey patty breakfast, but unfortunately, the patty wasn't fully cooked and had to be sent back. Even after that, it lacked flavor. Everything else was solid, though. The bill came out to a little over $43, which was okay!!!. Parking was also pretty tight. I might give it another shot and try something different next time, but I'm not in a rush to return. read more
Had Machaca with home fries and corn tortillas. Machaca was full of delicious shredded beef, salsa was fresh and homemade, home fries rich and buttery but fluffy, tortillas sweet and warm. Place hits all the marks for me for a small diner and not overly expensive. Also, they have WiFi! Service super friendly and ambiance is homey and inviting. I will be back.. great spot! read more

This is NOT a country kitchen. This is a Korean-owned restaurant (pay attention, this isn't racist) that is simply trying to get people in the door LOOKING for country cooking. I was raised in the South. I know real country cooking. They don't even have grits. That says it all. read more

Went for brunch for the first time. Had to try the famous granola pancakes. Delicious and enough for two meals! Unfortunately, the only photo we got was of my son's waffle. Besides the food being good, the staff was SO friendly and nice. We enjoyed that very much. Everyone in our party liked their meal and we all agreed that we will be back. read more

Mom and I had errands in Long Beach which we completed much earlier than we anticipated. Needless to say, we had plenty of time on our hands. "Brunch?" I asked her. "Yes!" She quickly responded. Since I'm not at all familiar with the area, had to do my usual Yelp search and find the closest one. You our delight, there were quite a few places, and the only reason this won out is because it's was less than a mile away. However, we both agreed that if we didn't like the menu, we'd bounce to another. Bring it a weekday, we didn't expect a crowd. We found parking immediately (right up front even!) and stood outside reading through their menu. An ice couple came out and told us immediately, "whatever it is you order, it'll be good. Come in, the staff is wonderful." Sold! We were seated and given the menus immediately. I was set with my usual go-to in first time diner visits (country fried steak and eggs.) Mom saw a picture of a banana pancake and didn't bother looking at the menu, "I'll be having THAT!" Easy enough. Also ordered an Arnold Palmer for me as well as house coffee black for her to wash the grub down. Overall ambiance is humble. There was nothing flashy or showy about this place. But that's not what we were here for: it really is all about food! COUNTRY FRIED STEAK AND EGGS: I had it with eggs over easy. Steak was seasoned, breaded and fried perfectly. The gravy was a good add to the taste and texture. I didn't get to try the home fried potatoes - I'm simply not a fan, but Mom is, so she happily took 'em off my plate. But yes! My mean was incredibly satisfying! Mom was also happy with her banana pancakes. They were generous with how much she got, so she took the rest home and snacked on it later. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 5. Staff was friendly and attentive. Service with a smile is always a plus. VALUE: 4. Above average. PARKING: Private lot shared with others. Not an issue on a midweek morning run. OVERALL: 4.75. That very nice couple were right: whatever we got was, indeed, good! Definitely on my radar for whenever I find myself around this 'hood again! read more

Small, clean restaurant with lots of booths. Very good service. Food came out quickly and hot. My eggs were scrambled perfectly. The potatoes were home fries that didn't add anything else. Cooked beautifully. My Sweetie's blueberry pancakes filled the dinner size plate, full of fresh blueberries and beautifully browned. We'll be back! read more

If you're looking for classic breakfast to eat where you get hashbrowns, then this is the place for you. The sandwhich is simple but delicious! The bread was crispy all around. The sandwhich in the picture is the Farmer's Sandwhich. The egg,bacon and "home fries" was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed every bite. They all you to sit wherever you'd like and they are attentive immediately as you sit. They waste no time in giving you service. The restaurant itself is decorated with some pictures and fake plants but it adds to the simple breakfast ambience that you would expect at all homey breakfast diner. Granola pancakes are good! Very unique idea in my opinion. Tasted very good! It is pretty rich and filling but fun to try! The breakfast burrito was pretty good- wasn't the most tasty one I have had but it wasn't terrible. I would rate it a 7.3/10. It's just pretty ordinary flavor, maybe a little more potato's and meat would help? I love eggs, but I tasted more egg in most bites. I would also love if they had a unique salsa of some sort. Overall from the owners being very friendly and the vibe being low key and relaxing. This place is a good place to enjoy quality food with friends or family. I would go back and try other things for sure. read more
Country Kitchen is a great casual and affordable breakfast and lunch spot. I find their portions to be rather large and filling. The last time I came here was to pick up a breakfast burrito ($13). Unlike other places they don't use a lot of potato filler in it. I asked for no potatoes and they gave me a side of cottage cheese instead. The burrito was filled with lots of egg and goodies. You have the option of sausage or bacon. It came with some of their salsa. I did find the burrito to lack in a flavor a little bit but those who don't like too much salt might like it. The lady who I ordered from was really nice and helpful. She also made sure I got everything I needed and the order came out fast. The inside of this spot is smaller but there are some tables and chairs. It's great if you're in the area and looking for a breakfast or lunch place that's easy. read more
