The meal comes w/ eggs, hash browns and toast, biscuit or half a waffle. First of all, there was a ton of food for the price: I'm glad we shared. The CBH had plenty of corned beef and it was moist. Likewise, the hash browns were nice and crispy. Lastly, the signature waffles were light & airy. I'm not much of a waffle guy, but I'd order a dish like chicken & waffles the next time I come. Other rellies had a chorizo burrito, avo toast and biscuits & gravy. No one complained about not having enough good food. Regarding the ambiance, its simple but roomy inside. Okay, so first off this review is based off my food, not the food my friends got. I went with breakfast in mind, but we got there late and I am a sucker for a chicken Caesar wrap. So I went with that and it was a huge mistake. The chicken was flavorless and dry as a bone. The wrap was 80% lettuce, 15% tortilla, 4% chicken, and 1% dressing. All in all the entire thing was super dry. I had to drown it in Cholula to eat it. The fries it came with were pretty good. They were fresh and crisp but lacked salt for sure. My friends got chilaquiles. I tried it and it was pretty freaking good. I had major food envy. The service was okay, they made sure our waters were full and the food came out fast, but after the food was dropped off we didn't see our server again until we requested the check. When I ordered my wrap I asked if they could put chilies torado inside of it and the server refused saying they would be too spicy for me. I didn't want to argue with her so I said I'd take them on the side. I know my palate and heat tolerance and was a little annoyed she wouldn't put them in the wrap. It would have given it some much needed moisture. I will go back for the breakfast for sure. I should have went with my initial instinct but I can't pass up a chicken Caesar wrap when I see one. This place really deserves better than the 3.9 rating it has. I went at 11 p.m. on a busy Saturday, took 10 minute to seat our party of 5 (+1 Baby). Service was very fast; whoever the guy with all the tattoo's is, is super duper nice and thorough. Food came out before I could sip my orange juice twice! Even just the plain pancakes are to die for; a sign of a quality breakfast place. My wife and I was at the hospital and did not eat for several hours. We stopped by Country Waffles in Clairemont. We went inside and the tables, floors, booths were immaculate. I usually do not see a restaurant this clean. We ordered some hot and iced coffee that was outstanding. Nice aroma! I asked our server Cynthia to give us some ideas what is popular on the menu. We had the Caramel Banana Waffle with whip topping and nuts, Waist Watchers was a healthy scrambled egg whites with turkey bacon, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, spinach, dry toasted english muffin, cold and crisp fresh medley of nice ripe natural sweetened fruit which included grapes, honeydew ,cantaloupe, pineapple, and blueberries. We also split a Turkey melt, Avocado, slice American cheese and tomato with battered onion rings. We had to take some of the food home due to the large portions. At first, it seemed a little expensive, but when you see the portion size and the quality of the food it was well worth it for the price. Thank you cook's, our greeter, dishwasher and especially Cynthia who served us. She took her time to throughly explain the menu items in detail and made recommendations for the most popular items. Stopped by here for breakfast one morning. The waffle was light and fluffy and the Oreos added a nice crunch and sweetness! Wow, I wasn't expecting this gem. One of the guys who works for me recommended it, so we did a group outing of six here to eat. I forgot the gentleman who was our server, but he was blisteringly fast with his service. Bang soda or water empty, bang refilled. The food came out piping hot the portions were huge I had the Bacon platter, did I mention the portions were huge everybody at my table had the big belly walk after we left. What impressed me most was the incredible teamwork throughout our visit. There were at least five employees who consistently anticipated our needs. My coworkers and I got scrambles. I got The Joe with egg whites which were extra and my coworker got the Farmer with regular eggs. The menu is expansive with different flavors/ options for everyone. My scramble was hearty, not too greasy, but could've used a little more flavor, which could've been because it was egg whites. Both scrambles came with a side of a half waffle which I had to get being that the restaurant was called Country Waffles. The waffle was fluffy and delicious and came with both whipped butter and syrup. The combination of the butter and the syrup was so good. You've got to love the hot coffee which the attentive wait staff refill as often as you want. The three egg omelette is filled with ham, onions and peppers and is served along with country potatoes and 1/2 a waffle. Been here several times already, don't know how I keep forgetting to leave a review, this place is wonderful! We're locals born and bred, you know all about the old country waffles and the original ones and over the years it's been hard to except the changes. However change is not always bad and it's easier to be adaptable to your surroundings and remember the good Ole times and blend it with the new. It's exceedingly hard enough to find great breakfast places that can accommodate all, be affordable and be delicious. That's here!! We've come here with our little family, we come here for a quick breakfast date away from our kids, and it never disappoints. The menu has made changes, and it's added it's own flavor of something new while still keeping the original plates....if that makes any sense.... make your own interpretation haha. The staff, are just joyous and wonderful. Accommodating, friendly and I love having conversations with them with random things gnat make your day better. I love that this place always leaves me smiling coming in and leaving. The atmosphere is very open, can accommodate large parties, and the littles. Clean floors and equipment easy to see kitchen and food comes out quick, fresh and hot. They offer daily specials which is always a nice adventure to try and I love LOVE that they are open to suggestions and messaging changes to see what sparks the interest in the community.
