This is a much needed staple in Vacaville! My mind wanted to visit, so we made a stop on the way back from the Bay Area. This is a decent sized market, although not as huge as 99 Ranch or SF Supermarket. They have a lot of different Asian foods, including Chinese, Korean, and Filipino foods. Specifically, there was a hot to-go food section with Chinese food, some bakery items that were Korean and Filipino. There were lots of your typical Asian snacks, including Pocky, Peppero, chips, etc, but they also had some unique offerings that other Asian markets don't offer, like the Korean almonds that come in different flavors like grilled corn, hot and spicy chicken, and tiramisu. We decided to grab a box of brown sugar boba Lotte choco pies, which was super unique! Looking forward to trying it soon. read more

This is a great one stop shop for all your Asian needs! It's comparable to Seafood City in Vallejo or 99 Ranch in Richmond. They have a wide variety of Asian snacks and delicacies, as well as a wide selection of fresh seafood, quality meats, and vegetables. It is a little bit pricier compared to other seafood markets I've been to like this, but it's sufficient enough for being the only one in this area. Everyone that works here is generally helpful and friendly. They also have a hot food section of the store where they have dim sum in large steamers and Asian entrees kept on food warmers to take to-go. I would suggest visiting this section earlier during the day since they do tend to run out of entrees and dim sum towards the end of the day. They keep this area very clean, and they clean the food warmers everyday. All the food here is really good! This review is for the boba counter. There was a young lady that helped my family pay and made my boba drinks. We got the matcha green tea and the thai ice tea, both snow (blended like a smoothy). My kids were waiting at the counter for their drinks. She keep them entertained by talking to them and keeping them engaged in conversation. Sometimes adults dont always talk to kids. My kids are super social. Sometimes I have to pull the reigns on them but it's nice when they can have a conversation themselves with other adults. read more

The deli food is not good. It's ok. The worst part is the customer service. The lady serving the food was rude and she picks and choose what kind of clients she is nice to. I waited to see if she was just having a bad day, because we all do. Then I notice that she was nice to a Caucasian lady and a Philippino lady, but not to me a southeast Asian person and a African American gentleman. I don't know if it's because my skin is dark and the other two ladies had a lighter complexion. It was not right. At the end of the day we are customers and you need to treat people with respect. Country Square Market, the name doesn't really sound very Asian, but what this store sell sure is. It has very easy freeway access and parking. I was with a friend that said this was just like a 99 Ranch that they have in bigger cities in the Bay Area and Sac, basically a big Asian supermarket with hot prepared deil foods, dim sum selections and BBQ or Roasted meats, like pork chicken and ducks. Their meat department is big as is the seafood. This store offers cooking (frying) of a whole fish if you buy it there for just $1.00. I even saw a whole live in a tank Alaskan King Crab, that thing was huge! Browsing the hot Chinese food deli, most of the food seemed more on the "real" Chinese food style, like I didn't recognize very many of the dishes. There was sweet and sour pork and fried rice and chow mein though. The other dishes were some egg plant dish, and there were even chicken feet and fried chicken wings. I got some wings that were super tasty. There were roast pork and roast duck hanging in the glass case too. The store seemed pretty clean and not as jammed pack as the 99 Ranch stores. What I found more surprising was, all the employees I spoke to all spoke good English, which is not the case at 99 Ranch. I was looking to get some bone marrow for soup and I had to ask the guy behind the meat counter to get some out of the freezer. I thought the prices were pretty cheap ... well, way better than Whole Foods! It's good to know that this place is here in Vacaville. read more

County Square has a wide variety of everything you'll need to make your favorite Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese any kind Asian dish. In addition to their dry shelf stocked items- spices, canned goods, noodles, snacks and tea they also have a freezer section, fresh vegetables and a fresh seafood and meat department. If you buy fish they will even gut and clean it for you. The staff is pretty helpful and good at keeping things neat and clean. I can't stand fish markets that are wet and smelly. Overwhelmed and rather not try cooking? No worries County Square has a deli area with an array of cooked foods. You can buy roast pork, bbq pork, duck, and chicken. There are also soups and many popular and traditional dishes you would find at Panda Express but healthier and more authentic. There is also dim sum and even tapioca drinks and desserts. County Square is not limited to food. They also have household goods, lucky plants, jewelry and other Asian decorative items. This place can get busy on weekends and after work so be patient if your there at a peak hour and the old granny in front of you is taking her time. County Square Market has the most organized and safe COVID-19 setup that I have seen out of any grocery store. They are currently open an hour early from 9:30-10:30 a.m., just for seniors and first responders. I have been going during this time with my senior parents. Staff allows us to enter right away and there is always plenty of space, more so than during regular hours. The line to check out is orderly and the staff is very good about ringing up your newspaper manually if you don't feel comfortable with them touching and scanning it. Sheltering with high risk family members, I greatly appreciate how serious this grocery store is taking the safety precautions and have great respect for their friendly and competent staff. read more

Korean dramas and variety shows get me everytime when I see ramyeon being inhaled or whatever it may be that gives me the hankering to go to the Country Square Market. Going to the supermarket and finding parking is half the battle, but there will be no push or shove here. Even on a hectic day there will be space for you in their large lot. Although, do be careful of the hefty potholes on the property. Over the recent years it has been clean and doesn't have that characteristic Asian market smell that can be bothersome to others. As customer service goes, I find that they are very lenient when it comes exchanges or returns. Also the young faces are also easy going and a lot of times smile during transactions! We all have our go-to's for what we like to satisfy our preferences. Here I come for the varying variety and sometimes challenging to find noodles, rice, kimchi, sauces/condiments, pre-packaged/frozen foods, and Korean milk/alcohol. They have an entire aisle dedicated to all the noodles you can imagine and even have them from single to 16 count. When they go on sale take advantage. Guilty as I confess it is quite the deal especially if you eat them often! In general anything they promote on sale is hard to pass up. Yep, they have the large sacks of rice in the front. Don't forget a few aisles down from the noodles next to the beginning of the produce are bags that are more suited for apartment living or smaller families. For just me and my husband we like to get the 5 lb Nishiki premium brown rice. To continue what we like there is also a hot section where you can find a display of hot appetizers and entrees. Personally, I just prefer the japchae to bring home to eat when we have a Korean inspired dinner. Having a difficult time finding what you need at other grocery stores? I'm just gonna comment on the combo meal I got from this place. The Chicken Chow Mein was bland & in need of the essential ingredients like Chicken strips & the usual veggies. There was just some Mung bean sprouts & no green onion. After years of experience eating in the Chinatown districts of NY, SF & Oakland, I can tell the Chow Mein was just poorly executed. The fried shrimps had the overpowering taste of the Shaoxing wine but otherwise OK. Similar places in Vallejo & Fairfield can do a better job. The place looks clean & parking was pretty easy. I agree with some of the previous reviews, the management has to come up with a system to speed up the take-out process. I've been on the hunt for a trusted Asian market and this was one my coworker suggested. I finally was able to stop by a few weeks ago. It was great to know that all the products and specific brands I'm used to seeing in my moms kitchen can be found here. I also like that there is a hot food section. $1.50 dim sum?? Count me in. UNFORTUNATELY, one star off because of the early closing time. They close at 7 and I get off work at 7. This store is on my way to work, though, so either I do my shopping before work and stuff things in my office refrigerator (and not have hot and fresh dim sum *sigh*) or I have to travel 20 mins on the weekend. But also, the one time I happened to get off work at 5, I went straight to County Square because I wanted to pick up dim sum on the way home. As a Chef of 20+ years, and having worked in Asia for a long time, I find this place to be amazing for the size of it. They have wonderful produce, a complete butchery and seafood section, a home goods corner, and a restaurant in-store! All of which is very reasonably priced. They offer grocery items from Japan, Korea, China, and several other countries. I have never left without finding what I'm looking for: From Pho noodles to lye water. Looking for Asian products and food? County Square will probably have what you're looking for! They have lots of snacks and drinks as well as a hot counter with dim sum! The dim sum is pretty good as well as many of their hot counter items. They usually have fresh seafood and live crabs and lobsters! They had frogs too, for eating and not to adopt and take home. When Dungeness crab season started back in late November 2010 I was determined to get my hands on some live ones to feast on but I didn't really make it a priority to shop for crab. So as time went by, I devoured other things along the way and had completely forgotten about my beloved crab until one day I was reminded. We were sitting around our dining table planning for what we should have for dinner and for some reason crab took over the topic of our conversation. Next thing I knew we were en-route to County Square Market. A couple of years ago my in-laws turned me on to this Asian market. It looks a bit more upscale than your run of the mill Asian grocery or food store. This place was clean and well stocked. Besides your traditional Asian goods they have Dim Sum, Baked Goods, a variety of Hot A la Carte Food, Roast Duck and more. There's a dining area or you can take your ready to eat meal to go. But what I really like about this place is the LIVE Dungeness Crab! In the seafood section they have tanks that carry phat lookin' live crabs. Normally it's 2.99 on sale and as high as 3.99 per lb. from what I've seen here. I believe it's a pretty good price versus 4.29 and above elsewhere. Coming from the perspective of a local Asian person who previously had to drive a while to either Oakland, Sacramento, or even San Fran to buy real Asian ingredients, Country Square Market was a blessing when they opened up. Located right next to one of the largest and most popular churches in town: The Father's House, Country Square is kind of hidden, but once found they're a gem. Although a little pricey at certain areas, they're still better than wasting all that gas/money going somewhere else, and by pricey I mean maybe two dollars more than some other stores. They always have little sales though, so that's always good. (Deli) They have a hot deli and cooked meat area with the hanging ducks and such. The food is pretty average for a quick bite, and for every 20 dollars you spend you get a 1 dollar voucher for the deli area--so that's a nice little bonus to eat/shop here. read more

The market was just a street down from my appointment and I came in to just browse- but left with bags full of groceries! Its not a mega grocery store, but it has a lot of goodies. Writing this review just from the Korean items perspective, I was highly impressed with their selection of produce and items. I'm still in my rural, less- privileged mind of thinking so I know I shouldnt be so happy about stuff like this knowing that I live in NorCal now- but... still! The workers at the meat section was helpful & very attentive. I didn't get anything cut but one guy was always on standby to make sure he could be of any assistance. One of my " go to" places when I need ingredients for Asian recipes that I like to make - the store has everything that you can think of. The store is very clean and that's really important to me. They have a kitchen section that you can buy hot meals and dishes - I haven't tried it myself, but I hear it's good. One thing I do know and have tried is their fresh produce section. Their vegetables are very fresh and of high quality. Lastly, my daughters love to go there and get Asian snacks when they get the cravings.
