Yes indeed, a good place to have a business dinner! Location is absolutely perfect, the restaurant is elegant, service was close to perfection and food delicious. Colbert, our waiter was funny but professional, attentive and polite. We opted out of appetizers, and delved right into main course, while we had drinks and good conversations. I went with a bone-in ribeye steak (my fault for not going with medium), which at $58 was appropriately priced. Side dishes were shareable and we had mashed potato, mushrooms, grated potatoes, asparagus and probably one more. Finished dinner with a good Courvoiser, while my colleagues indulged in pie tarts and cheese cakes. read more

I ate here for dinner and had a good experience overall. The service was good but the food had mixed results. The Courtside Green salad had way too much dressing, to the point then greens were soggy. The bread that came with the potatoes au gratin wasn't toasted. The goat cheese spread on top was amazing. If only they had toasted the bread... The broccolini was delicious. The filet was cooked perfect. They have a full bar and good wine menu. The restaurant wasn't too busy but they had no music on, so it was eerily quiet. She ordered the scallops with caviar but they told us as it was delivered they had no caviar; but didn't even adjust the price. The scallops were massively overcooked and the puree was watery. I ordered a medium ribeye which I didn't really care for. It took around 30 mins for my steak to come out. The waiter kept coming back saying it takes a while bc of how thick it is. When I got it, I was disappointed as it seemed overcooked. I let the waiter know and he said it may be the lighting. I cut into the steak more and some parts were medium but a good portion was med well/well done. I would usually send this back, but was so hungry and didn't want to wait another 30 mins for my steak to be cooked. The steak had too much charring which was all I could taste. No flavor just like the other two sides. Ordered an old fashion cocktail and I'm not sure what it was that I got, but it wasn't good. To be totally honest, this wasn't it for me. I understand it is part of the experience of staying at the Sanibel Harbor Marriott Spa & Resort, but compared to other steakhouses, the prices do not reflect the quality of food served. The service was friendly and attentive from our experiences, but the food lacked the "oomph" the prices suggest. I wonder why, being situated at such a classy resort, with so much revenue coming solely from the guests staying at the resort, this steakhouse does not try harder to be the best it can be. By the way, prices have gone up since 2020, so if you're looking at old menu photos, the prices do not reflect what's currently on the menu. I would do the following: Either add more love and creativity to the food, with ingredients that truly make the price worth it, or lower the cost of ALL the options. Even the "sides" are grossly overpriced. The three stars are for the following: clean restrooms, friendly and attentive service, tasty salad, and overall a clean and comfortable atmosphere. read more

For sides, we ordered mac and cheese, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. To go with our meal, we had a pretty standard bottle of Rodney Strong Merlot. In addition to having perfect beef and steaks Courtside Steakhouse had excellent desserts. We ordered creme brule, a chocolate mousse, and Key Lime pie. All the desserts got "A" grades. Our service was very good ... after a slow start. The decor was classy, although everybody was in casual attire. We have been going to the Courtside steak house since before the resort was acquired by Marriott - we are local and live a few miles away. Service - uneven - Audrey was great (our waitress), however basic water service, bread etc. while polite and friendly was lacking. Also service has to be taught. For example it is impolite to clear any of the patrons dishes while another is eating. Also do remove the appetizers before serving entrees, and remove empty place settings from the table on seating. So some training is needed. Menu - tired and should be re-done. Basic steak dishes OK, a few fish service OK. Nothing innovative, and no healthy choices (EG grilled fish without heavy sauces, salads without heavy dressings.). Not hard to find the 21st century. Yes we know it is titled a steak house. But you can still get healthy options at The Palm, Ruth Chris etc. Food quality. Uneven. On the plus side the Branzino was great once the correct order was delivered. Kudos to the chef in working with our dietary restriction (no dairy). The lamb was also excellent - though the portion was small. The Octopus not edible. Octopus when done correctly is heavenly. It should never be chewy or tough. This was both and evidence that it was not tenderized properly. So some training in the kitchen needs to be done. The bread was not worth having...warm rolls...great but these were mediocre and since these are so easy to make from scratch a real loss. We requested olive oil at the table and what was delivered was probably olive oil...but had no flavor or character. Small things make a difference. Ambience. - OK make up your mind. Sports bar. Then add fish taco's, burgers and sweet potato fries and keep the TV's. Watching golf and then "Gladiator" when dining is not a fine dining experience. Most important....remove that carpet. It smells. It is seriously rank and we almost left after sitting down. Carpets and restaurants are never a good idea. Combine with the tropics and then not steam cleaning weekly (yes weekly) and you have a problem. Great repository for bacteria, mold, vermin, insects and they collect odors as a result of the preceding. Replacing that carpet will make cleaning easier, eliminate the odor (unless you dont clean) and upgrade in one step. Hope you can take this as constructive criticism...there are only a handful of fine dining in Fort Myers/Sanibel and we would hope this could be one. read more

After reading the mix of good and negative reviews here, I wasn't sure what to expect. Luckily, our experience was mostly excellent. We were seated promptly and got our drinks right away. I got a ribeye that was perfectly seasoned/cooked. My girlfriend got a rack of lamb. It came with a cherry demi-glaze and she said it was way too much. She scraped off the excess and enjoyed it afterwards. What kept it from being fully excellent? We explained to the waiter that my girlfriend had celiac disease and her meal had to be gluten-free. He assured us that the creamed corn was gluten-free. It wasn't. It arrived with a layer of breadcrumbs on top. However, this is something that happens frequently at restaurants. Waitstaff will nod and tell you something is gluten-free when they really have no idea what you are talking about. One final note. Many of the negative reviews complain about the restaurant overlooking tennis courts that are old or in disrepair. We only found that to be partially true. Tennis courts, yes (It *is* called the Courtside after all) but they aren't old or broken-down. People were using them while we dined. It wasn't the problem for us that others seemed to have with it. read more

We are staying at the condo's need the restaurant and decide with some friends to go this steak house for dinner. My reservations and first opening was at 6:45 pm. Went up to check in with the heat person and they were on the phone discussing some reservation for the next day for about 8 minutes while we waited. There were only about four tables with people and the rest of the place was empty. Strange that we had to wait until 6:45 pm. The staff want to seat us by a walkway and my wife ask to seated by a window. Of course, the staff person was not pleased about the request and made it a point to show her displeasure with the request. Our waiter finally came with water and then walked away and disappeared from the face of the earth. After 20 minutes of no drinks except for the water which is now gone. We got up and walk out. There are a lot better to go to which have better service and food. Also, loved the view of the broken-down old tennis courts. read more

I had dinner here while staying at the Marriott. It is a good option if you don't want to leave the resort, but it is a bummer it has a view to old tennis courts instead of the water. I ordered a wedge salad, Filet, and Au Gratin Potatoes for dinner and finished with the Creme Brûlée. The steak was cooked perfectly and was a nice piece of meat. The potatoes were rich and gooey and delicious. Unfortunately, the salad had few toppings and a tasteless dressing and the Creme Brûlée was an odd texture and not a custard like you would expect. Overall food was a little inconsistent, but service was good. I would probably return if I was staying at the resort again, but would not make it a destination. read more

Our party of 9 arrived not realizing that (post-Hurricane-Ian) the elevator was out of service. Since the restaurant is on the second floor and our guest of honor was wheelchair-bound, we thought our evening was ruined. But the staff here was so gracious that they served us in a private room on the first floor! They could not have been more accommodating! I'll preface this by saying that this is a steakhouse, so know that it's expensive and know that everything comes ala carte (no sides included w the steaks). That said, everything I had here was excellent. I got the lamb chops which had a cherry sauce and they were AMAZING. The shrimp-cargot appetizer was delicious even down to just soaking up the leftover liquid with bread. The au gratin potatoes were delicious - if anything I'd almost say too cheesy (if that's even possible). And the bacon Brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked. My husband had a filet (Diane style) and it was well cooked although maybe slightly salty. The only other weird thing is that there are TVs at the bar which takes away from the ambiance. To start I had a tuna poke which tasted super salty and my husband had a shrimp cocktail which he said the shrimp wasn't clean properly and it tasted old. The other was at the Marriott Marco Island. Pathetic. At both places the service was lackluster too. If you can't even manage to answer the phone to take a reservation then maybe you ought to consider another line of work. The restaurant's website is part of the site for the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort and it is pretty much down. If you click through they show you a picture of someplace that is not this place and nothing else. Had to search online to find a menu and found one on Yelp but it was outdated. I took pictures of the menu tonight and posted them for our convenience. Again, if you can't keep your website running and post your menu then maybe the hotel/restaurant business is not for you. The steak was good. They only have 3 cuts...odd. My companion had a roast chicken dish and it was dry...definitely NOT up to the standards one would expect from the steakhouse in this price category. Lots of by-the-glass choices on the wine list. I asked the bartender if she knew the list well and she said she did....she didn't. For a resort location the prices on wine are reasonable. This is a really nice hidden restaurant in Fort Myers, Fl. I say really nice because the food was honestly very good. We had the escargot provencal, beet salad, and the shrimp-cargot as an appetizer. The escargot isn't typical at all but very well prepared. Came with fried leek, mash in a buttery tomato type sauce. Honestly delish! The shrimp-cargot came prepared as typical escargot and was very good but slightly over done. The beet salad was good, but I'm not a beet guy that was enjoyed more by our house guests. Now the steak! I ordered the Cowboy Rib-eye (tomahawk style) cooked to perfection at medium. My partner had his medium rare both yummy! We shared the two sides we had the cheddar potato gratin and truffle Mac and cheese. Both were easily big enough to share between two people. One of our house guests ordered the petite filet that was cooked well as she doesn't eat to much meat. She stated that the steak was still very juicy. She also ordered the Brussels sprouts which, were amazing. Our other guest ordered one of the specials. I can't remember exactly but the dish consisted of a white fish that we all tried and was also perfect not dry and flakey he also ordered the mash potatoes which of course were great! Also, the meal with about 3 cocktails each (top shelf) ran about $550 with tip about $150 each person. Not bad considering the wine one guest partook In was $30 a glass. LOL. Anyways great place don't let our bill scare you away! You can do much less expensive just avoid $30 wine and top shelf drinks. I wanted to give this place a perfect rating because I just had one of the best steaks I think in my life. The service was unbelievable (Stephanie was amazing). They don't have a kids menu - which means you're paying full pop for the little ones. They were kind enough to split the dishes for us. As I mentioned - I had a 16 oz prime rib special. It was better than perfect. Started with the Caesar salad. That was good. Others had the duck (amazing), the scallop small plate (very good) the spicy tuna role (very good. Went last night for dinner. This place was a big mistake for NYE! We got there for reservations at 6:45pm. Drinks took over a half hour to arrive and some were forgotten. Should have left at this point. Ordered our meals. At about 8:30 we started questioning where our meals were. No one in the restaurant had food at this point. Were told it was coming soon. Started receiving pieces of meals about 9pm. No sides came. I don't think anyone even had a correct meal. We ordered King Crab which came ice cold and you have to specify you want them hot. Someone had ordered the special for the night which didn't even come until almost 10pm. We talked with the waiter and manager. They kept apologizing and bringing more alcohol. I guess they thought if they kept bringing us alcohol we would be silent. I would not recommend this place. Nothing like ending 2020 with the worst dinner ever. read more
