Sometimes I dread grabbing food at the airport--it's usually overpriced and kind of disappointing. I didn't mind paying a little extra for the baked potato with brisket at Cousin's BBQ in DFW. It came truly loaded with a sizable amount of brisket. The line moved quick and I had plenty of time to eat and make it to my gate.

I had a layover so I ate here on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered a Big Urban and it got to me in just 5 minutes, so this seems to be a good spot to sneak in a quick meal if time is limited. It honestly tastes a lot better than it looks. It almost looks unappetizing. The jalapeño cheese packs some heat. The sauce comes on the side, which really helps keep things clean. However it was still super greasy. This was a very basic no-nonsense sandwich. It's uninspiring but good - even pretty good for airport food

Why do I get so hungry in an airport? Dallas Terminal B doesn't have a lot of dining options, especially for breakfast. But there is a Cousin's BBQ with a bar. They have interesting breakfast options and plain old COFFEE. You can order egg and cheese tacos with any meat including brisket or breakfast burritos. For me, an egg and cheese taco and a cup of coffee hit the spot. The fried egg was super fresh and hot. The salsa was delicious with chunky bits of onion and lots of spice. Service was friendly and quick. Order at the counter and wait a few minutes. And the taco was under $3. There is a shared seating area that was clean and comfortable. I can't vouch for the bbq, but the breakfast options are good and I will keep a mental note of Cousin's BBQ. Airline staff were ordering the egg and brisket tacos, so they must be good. There is a bar here and people were enjoying a drink at 6:30 in the morning.

This was better than I expected. To be fair, I expected awful, like most airport food, but still... I didn't dislike the food here. I only had a breakfast burrito. It was actually relatively affordable (less than $10) too. Some people complained of their burritos being soggy - mine wasn't, it did seem fresh. It was definitely wet, due to the wet salsa on top, but it hadn't been soaking in the salsa for any period of time. The contents were decent. Not a ton of flavor, but it did the job. It was very quick, maybe 5 minutes order to ready. If this were outside the airport I'd probably go 3 stars, but I need to use a different scale in here. You could certainly do worse, especially with limited options in Term B (looking at you, TGI Fridays).

Great for airport food! Got the 1 meat plate - sliced brisket, which was pretty good. Comes with two sides but I paid for a third. I liked the Cole slaw and Mac and cheese, but really disliked the collard greens which were soupy. Got a glass of wine from the bar next door and had a fabulous meal! Left very full.

Wanted to get a quick lunch and this seem like an interesting option . I took the plate w brisket and some fries - the meat itself was ok and the fries were also nice . Probably doesn't worth the 26$ I paid for it though

My flight at JFK got delayed 4 times, so I had time for dinner. I stopped by Cousin's BBQ and got myself a 2-meat platter. My choices were chicken and pulled pork, with a side of coleslaw and potato salad. I also got a garden salad and a banana pudding. The pulled pork was a bit dry, but the chicken was tender. The salad was really fresh. The coleslaw had just the right amount of mayonnaise so it wasn't runny. The potato salad had a lot of vinegar which surprised me. I had never eaten this type of potato salad and liked it more and more with each bite. It really grew on me! The Texas toast that came with the meal was a bit on the thin side, but was still good. The banana pudding was sinfully delicious. I kept telling myself it's bananas and potassium is good for me! lol

While we were at the airport waiting for our flight, my family and I decided to grab some BBQ for lunch. Cousin's BBQ had a small location near our waiting area, so we decided to have lunch there. We ordered their two-meat plate that comes with two sides. The tri-tip, pulled pork, street corn, and potato salad were all delicious. Not the best BBQ I had in Texas, but still delicious. You can get a fountain drink with free refills. They have some sitting area that they share with other restaurants. I'm glad we were able to get one last BBQ meal before heading back home.

I came across this BBQ spot inside DFW Airport and was pleasantly surprised. There was no line, and I was able to order and get my food fairly quickly. I ordered the one-meat plate with two sides--lean sliced brisket, elote, and collard greens--and everything was so good. The food was very flavorful and hearty. The bread with butter was also toasted to perfection: crispy on the outside and perfectly buttery, just the way I like it. The BBQ sauces were just okay, though. I tried them, but they tasted a bit bland to me. That said, the brisket was so delicious that I ended up eating it without any sauce and didn't miss it at all. Overall, this was probably the best BBQ meal I've ever had--especially impressive for an airport restaurant! I just wish we had this amazing BBQ place farther north of Dallas, in the Plano/Allen area.

I am returning from a red-eye flight and was looking for a simple, easy to grab breakfast option other than McDonald's. This place is next to Gate B43. Service was quick and the place was clean (they haven't had their lunch rush yet). The food was a solid 7/10. I had the Egg, Cheese, and Sausage Biscuit and bought a cookie.

Delicious BBQ! We always hit this spot in the Dallas terminal. It'll fix your Texas BBQ craving. The 1 Meat Plate is $23.99, 2 Meat Plate is $25.99, and the 3 Meat Plate is $28.99. At these prices, you're losing money if you don't get the 3 Meat Plate. Plus, it's delicious, so why not. 3 Meat Plate - $28.99 - We got sliced brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and pulled pork. All 3 were done perfectly. The brisket is rendered well and tender. The sausage is spicy and juicy. The pulled pork had a good ratio of fat, so it was juicy and well seasoned. Get those 3 meats. Our sides were mac and cheese and coleslaw. The sides were fine, nothing to write home about. The meats are the star. 5/5 stars. Laura's Banana Pudding - $5.49 - This hits the spot. Delicious with nilla wafers and a hint of cinnamon. Perfectly way to end BBQ. 5/5 stars. Service is friendly and fast. Ambiance is fun. Tables are clean. Highly recommend.

Found this restaurant in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth Airport and I was impressed with the food and service. We sat at the bar and ordered a 1/4 pound of brisket to try it out. Wow! It was moist and delicious. Our server was Ashley and she was attentive and so wonderful! The location was perfect for a great glass of wine and actually pretty quite for an airport. The menu was extensive and I wish we had more time to have a full meal. But we couldn't leave without trying the brisket. Great place! Check it out.

Tasty BBQ as you would expect in Texas (even at the airport). The service was friendly and quick (also an airport necessity). I had a chicken Cobb salad and Coke Zero. They have 4 dressing options and I got the ranch and it was delicious. A little bit pricy as usual for an airport. read more

If you are at the DFW airport and have a stopover, it makes sense to make a beeline for one of the bbq joints on premise. That was my plan and I acted on it. But this place is a fast food place that serves a strip down pulled pork sandwich with no fixins. I hobbled some sauce on it to add some flavor but it was pretty blah. Should I have expected decent bbq in an airport? Fair question. read more

Cousin's Barbecue Ambiance and decor: Spot is located in the Dallas Fortworth Airport, Terminal B, in B12. Small little BBQ spot, that has a sports bar connected to it. Spot was pretty packed for a Saturday afternoon. The bar area tends to be packed by those looking to get a quick drink of beer or whiskey before heading off to their next destination. Service: Quick!! With having a counter order, I was expecting a 5 minutes way, but I was surprised that by the time I put my phone away, my order was ready. Food: We order two things; brisket/ hot link sandwich and brisket nachos. Brisket nachos spread of nacho cheese, chipotle sauce, jalapeños, and throw down of pickled red onions. My Goodness, I down that plate quickly. Felt almost embarrassed on how good that was. The brisket and hot link sandwich was great as well, but the nachos overwhelmed my palette to the point I ordered another one. Drink: There's a bar area and regular non-alcohol drinks you can get at Cousins. Verdict: 4/5 best Barbecue spot in the airport. read more

It was my first time here, and I ordered the biscuits and gravy. It was around $10, and you get two biscuits cut in half with a heaping serving of sausage gravy--plenty of sausage, too. I didn't want anything too heavy, and this was just right. The service was wonderful. They brought the food right over to where I was sitting, and I ordered a drink at the bar as well. The bartender checked in on me to make sure I was doing okay and even cleared my items without me asking. I would definitely come back again. read more

Probably the saddest Biscuits and Gravy I've ever experienced, I would recommend them pull it from the menu if this is how they intend to serve it. There was no gravy just grease and sausage on top of a mediocre biscuit. Gravy out of a mix and pour package would feel like gourmet delicacy compared to this pathetic representation of culinary anything. I wasn't expecting too much for airport food, but they managed to mess up a pretty easy and typical southern breakfast dish. I audibly gasped when I opened the box. For anyone else traveling into Texas, this doesn't even graze anywhere close to the standard. Save yourself from fainting before your flight. Skip this menu item. read more

Not bad for airport food, and not bad BBQ. It's a little pricy, but it's the airport and this is the real thing. The brisket is okay, and not too dried out. The cheese sausage is yummy, but a little dry. That's to be expected when they don't cook it on site. I really like the vinegar based sauce, but I'm not a huge sauce guy. If you are looking for a place to sit, and nice people, and a great place to people watch... it's pretty quick. 4 STARS read more

TLDR: great bbq.. I'll be bold and say this airport bbq is better than most of the places I've had in New York. Never been to Texas besides the airport but my friends from Texas always tell me how I don't know what barbecue is until I've tried barbecue from Texas. I thought I'd give this place a try not expecting much at all. Decided to get a two meat platter and got the pulled pork and sliced brisket. Also came with a slice of buttered toast and two sides; i chose the collard greens and coleslaw. I was so surprised how much I liked this place. Both meats were juicy, tender, Smokey and everything else you associate with great barbecue. If this airport barbecue is this good I can't wait to try what else there is! Order at the counter, find a seat. Saw some drama in the previous comments. Haven't had an issue with trash and it was pretty clean to me. Overall: I wanna do a Texas barbecue road-trip after that lol read more

The staff was wonderful. They took the time to explain the menu. They were super kind and earned the tip. The food was a solid "meh". The lean brisket was brutally dry. The moist brisket wasn't great. The bbq sauce is not good. Sides were ok. I don't think I would ever want to come back here but it was as filling, quality ok-tasting food. read more

Stopped in location at Terminal B and my first time. Ordered the Brisket Potato and Wow! Presentation was excellent, flavor was great. Had Collard Greens on the side and I'm super picky and another big WOW. Young lady who took my order was ok and gentleman that provided it to me was nice. They have a small bar area where I observed the bartender doing a great job. Nice feel. My new stop at Terminal B. Stop in you won't be disappointed. read more

Needed a snack while at the airport, I got a kids grilled cheese with fries and my friend got a pulled pork sandwich. Service was nice and food came out pretty quick for how busy they were. Negative 1 star because they are crammed in a corner with the other restaurants and a bar with limited seating and no organization so you gotta fend for yourself. The grilled cheese was buttery delicious on the toast and the fries were well seasoned and yummy. I just wish the cheese was spread out between the toast instead of all collected in the middle. I was told the pulled pork was decent. read more

Like clockwork, arrived at gate b14, ordered my traditional brisket platter, lean this time, potato salad and coleslaw, they include Texas toast. Dropped a crazy Bidenomics $30+ (I am in a captive audience airport) and in a few minutes was on my way to terminal c for my next flight. No disappointments when I arrived at my departing gate and enjoyed a delicious lunch. read more

Great BBQ in DFW - - - - - - - - January, 2024 Visit My wonderful wife and I visited Palm Desert / Palm Springs in January, and we flew STL - DFW - PSP. Our flight through DFW arrived at dinner time. There are many places to eat at DFW and we're glad we found Counsin's BBQ. My wife is gluten intolerant and the team quickly helped us understand which couple items to avoid - she/we could enjoy most of the menu, as only a couple items contain gluten! We ordered and greatly enjoyed brisket with two sides - cole slaw, and collard greens - good and tangy and make your lips tingle... not burn, but tingle - very flavorful! Most airports are full off cookie cutter restaurants. Dallas DFW is a bit different with a number of TexMex and Barbecue restaurants. Stopped by at Cousin's. Pretty good barbecue given the fact that the kitchens are not full like regular restaurants. Tried their Big Urban sandwich and it was a hit. Recommended in the context of airport as you can get much better BBQ in the metro area. You are better off ordering a plate vs. A sandwich and a side as the small Cole Slew is $4.50. Also massive beer options. read more

Easy counter-service place to pick up some food while in the airport. The area was crowded, but Cousin's was quick and my brisket sandwich was just what I was looking for while I waited for my flight and make sure that I didn't leave Texas without at least a bit of BBQ. I don't expect airport dining to hit quite the same as a full restaurant, and this met those expectations but was still a good spot. read more

Alright choice for airport food. Brisket sandwich was alright, had a good smoky flavor to it but was quite a bit tougher than I was expecting. Had to douse that thing in sauce to soften it up. The sauce btw was a nice vinegar based sauce with a mix of spices. The cole slaw was great. Service was fast which was appreciated but the staff hardly acknowledged you when taking you order. read more

Best food I've ever gotten in an airport. Simple, nutritious, and flavorful breakfast. I ordered two sausage and one chorizo breakfast tacos. The sausage ones NEEDED to be topped with the salsa and sauce that came with the order, but when combined they were scrumptious. If you eat the sausage taco plain, there's something wrong with your mouth. The chorizo taco was literally dripping with flavor. The simple menu means fast service! Partner got the brekkie burrito, very surprised at its heft. It's always hard to find adequate protein in an airport, so glad we stopped by! They do offer military discount. read more

Okay...this is pretty good for airport food! (3.5 stars) The service was friendly and fast! The gentlemen who took my order even addressed me by my name. I expected the chopped brisket to be small bits..but to my surprise it had some decent chunks! Could it be smokier? Probably, but overall, not bad! Prices are expected to be higher in an airport, but for TX and for the portion for the price, probably a bit on the border or gouging. One of the better options amongst the many options available. read more

Had the flexibility to order just meat. Ordered 1/2 lb of sliced moist brisket. Surprisingly just about as good as I have had here in TX. Yours may not be as good because that's just how brisket can be, but 5 stars for my meal read more

Had a 4 hour layover in Dallas and wanted to take the kids for some Texas BBQ without leaving the airport ( don't worry we've been to authentic places before, e know what's good :) ) took the sky team from terminal E to B just to try out cousins and let me tell you TOTALLY WORTH the effort. Staff is friendly and fun and the food was delicious! Thank you cousins for making this gross layover a good experience! Y'all are the best ! read more

It was just okay, the jalepeno sausage was really dry and wasn't the great. It was also really expensive for what you got. My wife and I ate there and it was over $60 for the two of us. I know its airport food but if your going to charge those kind of prices you need to back it up with good food, so for the food to be just okay and the prices high it leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth.... read more

Had the sliced brisket. Completely dry with no fat at all. Jalapeño sausage is not the best. Poor snap and over-cheesy. Mushy, is the best way I can describe it. My coleslaw had zero tang. It was like eating raw cabbage. There was also a large, inedible end-piece of the cabbage included in my portion. Mac and cheese was edible. The Diet Coke was well-carbonated. I'm giving it a 2 instead of a 1 because this is the DFW Airport location and I had low expectations about airport food going in. Just go to McDonalds instead and get some nuggets or something. read more

Stopped here during airport layover. Split a brisket sandwich and fries with my husband. Brisket was tender and flavorful. Just wish there was a little more on the sandwich. Enjoyed bottle of local beer. Staff was friendly and a delight to dine with. The breakfast items looked good but we were already working on our second meal of the day. read more

So I'm traveling back from work and always try to find a place in the airport that is a small business rather than a big chain. I end up here. The staff are really helpful. What's good? How hungry am I? Popular sides? So I wind up getting the brisket, side of collard and beans. The brisket was top tier... tender, seasoned with a good outside texture. The collards were not traditional but surprisingly tasty. Had some peppers that gave it some spice but they clearly also added some sugar - but not too much. Everything was a little salty. The beans were trash - but I don't like chili beans- which may be a Texas thing. The portion size was decent - maybe two who aren't that hungry or one who is very hungry. I passed on the beans and still had some left over. The price ?!?! Almost 24 for a one meat plate. I guess. All in all a good experience. They also had the Olympics playing. Go Gabby!!! read more

Cousins in DFW airport, near gate B9. Good customer service. Man taking the order was friendly and helpful. Made recommendations. Food arrived quickly. The street corn was really good. The Mac and cheese wasn't memorable, but good. My family and I were disappointed with the quality, taste, and texture of the meat. I ordered the chopped brisket maybe the sliced brisket would have been better. The average cost was $30 per person. Not bad for airport prices, but not a good value for the quality of the food. read more

For airport food, I'll give this an extra star. I've eaten here a few times now and the quality is consistent. The Smokey flavor is unmistakeable. Service is always pleasant and area is clean. Seating is limited as it shares area with a two other venues so I usually take away. Chose the beef over the pork every time here. Sides are all good. The Mac n cheese is much lighter but nice. read more

I had barbecue at the Stockyards and here and this was the best I had. No joke. The brisket sandwich was so flavorful. I was not expecting to be so stunned at the airport. And it was pretty cheap not just for airport food but also good quality Texas barbecue. Was a great way to leave Texas on a high note. read more

Ordered several items for a business gathering. The smoked chicken had just the right flavor. The brisket was juicy, and you didn't need a knife to cut it. The pulled pork was great, and the bbq sauce provided was great. We had collard greens that had a little sweetness to them, maybe from the peppers. The cowboy baked beans were "kickin" and to round things out with the cheesy corn. Would definitely order from them again. read more

By the time the store opened, the line had grown to being over twenty parties long, so plan accordingly if you don't want to be waiting for a while. Between the four in our party, we shared a three meat BBQ plate with bacon burnt ends, brisket, and their house made sausage. For our two sides, we chose their hatch chile mac n cheese and their Mexican street corn. Following the recommendations of many Yelpers, we also ordered two of the brisket tostadas and two of the birria tacos. When we received our plate of meat, I was a bit surprised at how little of each meat there was on the plate, but in hindsight, this ended up being the perfect amount of food, where everyone was able to get a sample of everything. Of the items we ordered, my favorite was definitely the burnt ends. These were melt in your mouth tender, and was insanely rich and decadent. Each of the three pieces in our order had a beautiful bark on the outside that resulted in a satisfying crunch with every bite. The casing to the sausage was snappy and the sausage itself was very juicy. The brisket was fall apart tender. The brisket was a bit light on seasoning, so I ended up using the Aztec Gold BBQ sauce they had sitting at the table with it. The sides that we chose were both delicious. The pasta in the mac n cheese was cooked perfectly and the noodles was generously sauced. The elote was sweet and smokey, and the Cotija cheese added creaminess to the side. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hurtado Barbecue and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit if you're in Texas and are looking for great tasting BBQ.

The drinks arrived, and the appetizers followed about 10 minutes later -- fine so far. But there were no utensils. We had to ask for them, and we asked for plates as well, which never came. The empty dishes from our appetizers sat in front of us for a solid hour with no one clearing them. The bartender who took our order never once checked on us. With 3-4 people working behind the bar, only one server approached us during the entire 40-minute wait between appetizers and dinner to ask if we needed anything. The bartender told us twice that our food was "coming out shortly" -- and still, 40 minutes passed. When dinner finally arrived, my order was wrong. I ordered the Mongolian Short Rib, listed clearly under the Entree section of the menu. The bartender claimed I had ordered off a "happy hour" menu -- one I never saw or was told about -- and had swapped it for BBQ Pork Ribs without saying a word. Knowing a replacement could take another hour, my friend swapped plates with me and took the ribs. He had ordered the steak frites, which, for a rare steak, should have taken no more than 5-6 minutes to prepare. The third entree, fish and chips, was just okay -- a bit soggy and not particularly fresh. To top it all off, after everything we dealt with, the bartender never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food has potential, but the service was inattentive, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable for a busy restaurant that should know better.

While in transit through Dallas, I made an impromptu visit to Cousins BBQ, an experience I won't soon forget - and not for the right reasons. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by the unpleasant sight of a series of cluttered, unclean tables. Even as a temporary traveler, it's clear that cleanliness is not a high priority here, a notion which I find quite disheartening. My dismay further intensified when I was instructed by a server to seat myself at one of these litter-strewn tables. Despite the initial shock, I collected the trash from a table and moved it to a nearby counter, which in my mind was the least I could do under the circumstances. To my absolute surprise, the server rebuked me, implying it was my duty to dispose of the rubbish in the trash bin. Rather than address the issue at hand, the supervisor accused me of being "hostile" - a sentiment I found comically absurd. To add insult to injury, he threatened to call airport security on me, all because I expressed my dissatisfaction at their questionable customer service standards. So, fellow travelers and prospective diners, be warned. If you're considering a meal at Cousins BBQ, you might be stepping into a realm where customer expectations are turned on their head. It appears you may be expected to clear your own table of previous diners' trash, and if you express any displeasure at this, you risk being labeled as "hostile" and potentially have security called on you. While the BBQ may be great (I can't comment as I left without tasting), the quality of customer service and cleanliness was undoubtedly lacking on my visit. I have a great appreciation for Texas BBQ. In fact, I enjoy all BBQ, but the Texas style holds a special place in my heart. During a recent business trip, I had a layover at DFW airport and decided to indulge. As I made my way to my gate, I researched BBQ options within the airport. Cousins caught my attention due to its positive reviews. As fate would it, it was also very close to my gate (B9). I got the Big Urban sandwich, which featured both brisket and sausage. I also got two sides: baked beans and mac and cheese. Both sides were enjoyable, with the baked beans standing out as particularly delicious. However, the $3 cost for each side is absurd. Considering the small portion size, which was more akin to a sample rather than a side dish, I found the pricing to be excessive. My friend chose the baked potato topped with chopped brisket. The portion was incredibly generous and looked absolutely mouthwatering. The service wad very fast. The woman who took my order was very courteous. Overall, the food was of good quality and certainly surpassed my expectations for airport dining. While it may not have reached the pinnacle of Texas BBQ standards, it was still a satisfying meal. Supper mean blonde running the bar side!! Didn't even get to try the food she was so nasty we just left and in conversation with other patrons she does this a lot!! Very disappointed!! When people have a hard day traveling and are away from home the last thing they need is an extremely rude human to make it worse!! Absolutely discussed!! read more

OMG! Be ready to eat when you get here. Don't eat breakfast if you come for lunch. The meatloaf and chicken fried chicken is off the chain. The hospitality by the staff and other guests were fabulous! The sides were amazing and helpings plentiful. The restaurant is very clean. Can not go wrong trying this place out! read more

I love Texas bbq and Cousins had just what i wanted yummy brisket,beans, and Texas toast. Not bad for airport prices at $12. Very friendly staff and lot's of seating. Dallas airport was a nightmare but cousins made my 4 hour layover more bearable haha. read more
