WOW! all i can say. My boyfriend and I are in maine for a vacation and we wanted a new breakfast place to try since Congdon's was closed today. And wow! I ordered a western omelet with cheddar, and my boyfriend ordered french toast and sausage. Was totally delish. The homefries were perfectly seasoned, crispy and so tasty. The omelette was fluffy and so tasty. My boyfriend's french toast came out and all i could smell was the warm cinnamon. I had to take a bite and it was YUM. Boyfriend said it was his top 3 french toasts he's ever had. Will definitely go back before we go home! So good! read more

Stopped by this morning for breakfast on a rainy morning. Not much parking, so we walked - and I'm so glad we ate here! Quaint and cozy breakfast spot with a delicious breakfast! Lots of omelet options and fair prices breakfast. I had blueberry pancakes (when in Maine!) and they were PERFECT - much better than the much talked about ones at The Wild Blueberry. Homemade home fries were also very good. My egg scrambled was just the way it should be made! I often have issues with consistency so I was impressed with their scrambled eggs. This place is fast, friendly, and delicious. Our food came out almost the instant we ordered it, the staff gave us excellent recommendations off the menu and for the rest of our trip, and our water glasses were never empty. We both settled on omelettes. They are huge and fresh. The veggies in my omelette were perfectly cooked. We also had an amazing blueberry muffin to split on the side that was still warm. Definitely the highlight of my morning. I'd go back and try some of the more adventurous and sweeter menu items, but this has been such an eating vacation that we stayed pretty basic with breakfast. The woman next to us had a Belgian waffle special and it looked amazing. She said it was fabulous. read more

My friend and I have been making an annual trip to the Ogunquit area for many years. Over the last few years we have added breakfast here to our itinerary. The use of fresh ingredients and simple, yet unique dishes keep us coming back. This year I ordered a casserole special (eggs, cheddar, spinach, tomatoes, basil and bacon), with home fries and rye toast. The fresh basil was a nice touch. They also provide a small cup of their delicious blueberry jam for your toast. My friend ordered the crab cakes eggs Benedict and their molasses toast. As usual, we both greatly enjoyed our meals and we look forward to returning next year. read more

This was a wonderful little spot for breakfast. Fast, tasty, super friendly service! The food really hit the spot!! But what really impressed me was how kind and helpful the waitresses were. We took my 19 month old son with us and he was a bit challenging. They were so helpful - even brought him two little trucks to play with to entertain him! We were influenced by a review that said this restaurant had blueberry pancakes that were better than those at the Wild Blueberry restaurant. When we drove up we noticed that one of their two parking spaces was free and we took that as an omen. Cheryl, our server, is homey, friendly and generous with her time and attention. Service was fast and efficient in this tiny restaurant. The coffee was good and so were our meals. The wife ordered the waffle special with blueberries, strawberries and walnuts. The dish looked very festive, see photo. I ordered a short stack of blueberry pancakes with well done bacon and real maple syrup. The syrup came in a small liquor glass instead of a bottle. The bacon was perfect. Meaty and thick. The pancakes were disappointing. They were cakey and thick with very few blueberries. I consider myself a mavin of pancakes and these do not hold a candle to those served at the Wild Blueberry Restaurant. That is why some people like vanilla and others chocolate. Different strokes for different folks. We will not be returning any time soon. read more

If you are wanting a "Maine" Breakfast this is where to go. I highly recommend the Lobster Benedict and the Maine Blueberry Pancakes to share (but if you are only getting one thing get the Lobster). TIP: there are two parking spots so if you gamble it might pay off (but ideally you walk). read more

I found the $3.50 "Kona" coffee to be awful and weak. Like drinking colored water. The place is not well air conditioned so be prepared to sweat through breakfast. I got blueberry pancakes that were dry. The inside is quaint though and you can sort of see the water. You can do better. read more

We were greeted with a 1 hour wait for breakfast at the highly-rated Amore, so we went back down the road towards Perkin's Cove and ended up having breakfast here after a more reasonable 15 minute wait. The inside is cozy with varnished wood beams and coffee mugs depicting lobster cartoons. The atmosphere was very genial, with locals having neighborly conversations across tables and the waitstaff bustling about cheerfully. The food was excellent. The pancakes were feather-light, the roasted potatoes perfectly seasoned with rosemary, and the lobster in my omelette was so fresh it tasted like it had crawled out of the sea and onto my plate. My only iffy moment was the outside of the omelette was a little overcooked, giving it that weird burnt-egg flavor. But everyone else's food (six of us sampling just about everything) was great so I can overlook it. I was a little amped up from too much coffee already, so I opted for tea -- extra points for decaf tea and tons of herbal options. read more

We have been to Ogunquit many, many, many times. We don't live very far away and due to living in a tourist town, we don't usually get to go out and be tourists until Spring or Fall. There is no parking and you're paying such close attention to the oncoming cars and people walking on a semi-narrow road that bends, you can easily miss this gem. From the outside, it looked like a place no one knew about. You open the door and it's packed! How did I not know about this place before?! While it is small and in close quarters, they have the tables strategically placed that once you sit down, you don't feel crammed in. Love the set up. It must be a local favorite! The service and the food was EXCELLENT!! The blueberry syrup is soooo good! My husband loved his omelet and the homefries were delicious. I don't like potatoes and even I liked them. That says A LOT!! The fresh, grilled (homemade) blueberry muffin and BLT were FANTASTIC. I can't wait to go back! read more

Located in a cute little house just outside Perkins Cove, this breakfast joint is friendly, quaint, and serious about grub. They whip up an amazing array of omelets, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, and more. In a town where most establishments make enough money by feeding rubbery eggs to clueless tourists looking to pass the time until their lobster dinner, Cove Cafe treats breakfast with the respect it deserves. The quality of the food was superb. The bacon, eggs, and waffles were excellent, providing just the right amount of fatty deliciousness to kick start your beach morning, and the home fries were seasoned to perfection (a lost art among short order cooks). The little kitchen is overseen by Jeb the paterfamilias, who incidentally looks like he might spend the winter teaching 19th century English literature at the University of Southern Maine. While you wait for your waffle with fresh berries, walnuts, vanilla butter, and His Majesty Real Maine Maple Syrup, you can read the epic Dufresne family newsletter on the back of the breakfast menu and get intimately acquainted with their professional accomplishments, athletic exploits, hobbies, children, friends, and pets. My boyfriend and I were really wanting a good breakfast this morning and after walking along the marginal way towards Perkin's Cove, stumbled upon this place. It may be small, but the turnover is quick and the atmosphere is so cute/ classic breakfast place feel. The staff were very friendly as well, immediately poured coffee into our mugs when we sat down. I got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin with home fries and a bowl of fruit and my boyfriend got the fresh blueberry waffles and a side of the hash. The bacon was perfectly cooked in the sandwich and was exactly what I hoped for! Home fries were the best I've had in a while and the fruit bowl was a mini fruit salad with lots of fresh fruit in it. My boyfriend loved his waffle and I actually got to try a bit of the hash. Can't say a bad thing about this place! Would definitely come back again. read more

We went to the Cove Cafe twice this week during our stay in Ogunquit! We LOVE how fresh everything is especially that it is all made to order. The coffee is the best way to start a meal in my opinion, always hot and freshly brewed. Everything from the blueberry pancakes, to the crab cake Benedict is awesome. Cannot say enough about this place. Cozy cottage-like cafe with the best blueberry pancakes on the planet. I've been coming here for years every October when I visit Ogunquit. Always high quality excellent food. Delicious coffee. Go early to get a table. Close to the Marginal Way walkway.
