We stopped by Cozy Kimchi for lunch on Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too busy and we got seated quickly by the window. We ordered the man du (steamed dumplings) and the dol sot bibim bap. There's an additional charge if you want to add a protein option. We added tofu ($3) and beef ($5). The man du was a delicious appetizer to start with. The bibim bap came out quickly. The rice was perfectly crunchy in the stone pot. I enjoyed their homemade kimchi they brought out to our table. The service was great, our waitress and hostess were very friendly. Overall, this was a nice little spot. It's a little pricier than other lunch places in Newburyport.

Cozy Kimchi has become one of my favorite spots in Newburyport. Haven't had anything bad here. The fried kimchi mandu are a must try. They make their own kimchi here and converted me from not a fan of kimchi to loving their kimchi. Beef bulgogi is great but the dot sot bibim bap had to be my favorite. It comes out in a sizzling hot bowl and toasts the rice and veggies as you eat it. On top of that the crew here is super friendly and even remembered us after visiting only one time before. Surprised it's not more busy here, but means more kimchi for me!

Very tasty food, traditional, service is good and prices decent. This was listed as an appetizer and it has rice cakes, fish cakes, and egg and vegetables.

Lovely decor and nice cozy seating, especially the window seats. We were warmly welcomed by the host/owner. The food was ok. The pork bulgogi was very oily and was less sweet than other places. The kimchi fried rice was forgettable. The entrees are very expensive, $28 for the pork bulgogi and the beef is even more. Personally, I would rather eat at HMART for half the price.

When…read moreour family was planning my nephew's celebration of life, they were kind enough to close the restaurant so we could gather privately, and it meant so much to all of us. This was my nephew's favorite spot, so it felt especially meaningful to be able to honor him there. As a Korean family, sharing Korean BBQ and hot pot together felt very fitting. The food was delicious --fresh, high-quality meats and vegetables, rich and flavorful hot pot broths, and a great selection of soju. The sauce station was also a highlight and really elevated the meal. Everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. They even offered chicken nuggets and fries for the kids, which is such a considerate touch. So many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food. What we will remember most, though, is the compassion and kindness shown by Jason and the staff. They created a warm, welcoming space during an incredibly difficult time and made it easier for our family to come together, share memories, and celebrate my nephew! We are truly grateful for everything they did and would highly recommend this restaurant--not only for the excellent food, but especially for the people and the care they show their guests.

This was my first time trying this style of dining where you cook the meat at your table, so I was really excited going in. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. Several of the meats we were served did not seem fresh, and the overall quality was very disappointing. Instead of enjoying the experience, I found it unappetizing and honestly couldn't wait to leave. I know everyone has different tastes, but based on my experience, I would not return or recommend it. I was expecting a fun and memorable meal after such a special occasion, but it ended up being one of the worst dining experiences I've had.

Have tried many of the Korean restaurants in Allston and this, K Restaurant, seems to outrank them all! As for service -- indeed you pay first, but was a bit confused about the server/front desk who pretty much tell you to order before seated (choosing your own table), take your order, serve you with all the food, etc -- literally she handles all the customer service stuff -- wondering why she did not appear at pleasant or smile at all. Don't get me wrong, fully aware of wide range of personalities -- some appear more excited and enthusiastic than others others -- even without the the usual tipping at the end, and especially with the tipping at the end. Here, of course you pay -- and finalize your tip or no time before being served with your food, but still the server did not appear to greet or show those standard pleasantries expected all common in America ... She wasn't rude or anything. It just seems like she's not happy being there. Any event, just some thoughts here. Would definitely be back. And do recommend this place to others who want delicious meal but just note the above.

It's relatively small (only about ten seats) and at the time, only two people were working. It took a little bit for the food to come out (my dad was able to go order a coffee at Coffee Break Cafe next door and bring it back before our orders came out) but the portions were perfect for our lunch and my dad really enjoyed his! The noodles are dropped off on the bar for you to pick up and you grab your own chopsticks as well. We ordered the Chili Ramen (tonkotsu with chili oil on top) and the Shoyu Ramen, both with pork as the protein. The cook on the egg was great (nice and gooey in the center and the white was nice and soft) but it was a little cold and lacked flavor (could've been marinated for longer?). The pork was a nice cut of meat but despite being blowtorched it was a little chewy and lacked a bit of flavor also. The lack of marination on these toppings was helped by the fact that the broth was great and flavorful and if you ate them with the broth and noodles, it was satisfying! I think the broth was the best part; I tried both of them and enjoyed drinking the broth by itself even without eating the noodles with it. Overall, I thought the ramen was OK (the soup was the best part!) but for the price and portion I think this is a nice place to stop by for lunch! My dad enjoyed it a lot and was impressed by the authenticity for an American establishment.

** Burger and Donut Review **…read more Outstanding space with a rustic modern look, a 4-sided bar, balanced seating (booths, tables, high-tops), an outdoor patio, and a private room. My wife and I had the pleasure of sitting in seats more akin to living room furniture-- that's a good thing. Also good was the breeze that blew in from the deck on a hot day. -- Blackened Cod Sandwich: This was my wife's lunch and it looked very good, with a brioche bun, and no shortage of condiments. Most importantly, the tall portion of fish was very moist and very well seasoned. My small taste didn't have the classic "blackened" vibe, but it was very good. A mini basket of fries provided plenty. Probably frozen, but good quality and a good balance between crisp and droopy. -- Dry Aged Burger: As a burger aficionado, that's what I came for, and a dry aged one-- a rarity around Boston, sadly-- gets my attention immediately. This one, ordered medium rare, brought a decent crust and decent moistness inside, though both could be more pronounced. It was probably closer to medium than medium rare, and the brioche bun was a white bready under the dome, but it worked. The dry aged flavor came through immediately. Good supporting cast among the sauces and vegetation, and same fry basket treatment as on my wife's plate. Overall, good instead of the hoped-for great. -- Donuts: We came at brunch, so this was a nice option for us to treat as a dessert. My opening came when I saw another server walk by with a plate and I asked her upon returning, "What was that plate of meatball-looking things?" She said those were the apple cider donut bites, and proceeded to gush that they were her favorite thing on the menu and a don't-miss item. This prevented me from having to twist my wife's arm, so it was a done deal. The "bites" were fairly large, closer to baseball size than golfball size, with a nice thick outer crunch yielding to a very warm, still-moist-but-fully-cooked interior. Delicious cinnamon flavor on the outside, natural donut dough flavor inside, and kicked up by a thin, cinnamon-maple sauce underneath and a whipped cream (they called it and vanilla anglaise) on the sides. Fantastic, and in an era when "artisan" donuts run $5 apiece even out of a fridge, getting six warm ones of higher quality for $12 was a steal. The burger was closer to good than great, but overall a good meal, good service, great space, and surprisingly good value (on all three items). I'd be interested to try them for dinner.
