Ordered an Assam Black Milk Tea with golden boba and a Tieguanyin Oolong Tea Latte with golden boba. The Tieguanyin tea itself was fantastic - crisp, fragrant, neither bitter nor watered down, and well-adjusted for sweetness (at 50%). However, the golden boba pearls were extremely undercooked. I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence, or if I was just unlucky in coming here today, but the pearls were only around half cooked through--hard enough to be difficult to chew, with visible white centers (maybe only the outside 30% of the boba balls were completely cooked). This wasn't an issue of heating and reheating the boba either (i.e. sometimes boba gets less chewy when left in the fridge, but that wasn't the case here). The texture could not be remedied at home, though I tried to separate out the boba pearls and microwave them. The boba was just straight up insufficiently cooked, which was disappointing, considering that the tea itself was actually very enjoyable. May be giving this place another shot in the future for the quality of their tea, but the boba quality unfortunately left much to be desired. read more

I came here today since I didn't get the chance to go to their grand opening weekend. The store was pretty empty, with a few people waiting for their drinks. It had a cute atmosphere, and I think it would be a good place to study, though I didn't see any outlets near the tables. Some of their menu items look pretty unique, like the cloud and torched series. I got the royal collection thick milk tea with golden boba, since I haven't seen that anywhere else. The cashier was so nice and helpful. She told us that it had condensed milk and we should get less sugar, so I got 50% sugar. She also explained that the golden boba had caramel flavor while the black boba didn't. I got my drink after about 5 minutes. I thought it was interesting that they gave us the drink in a paper cup since we didn't get foam and it wasn't hot, and they didn't run out of their plastic cups or something like that. The tea was really good though - 50% sugar was perfect, and you could taste the floral notes from the tea. I should've asked what exactly was the tea was, though I think it was some kind of black tea. The golden boba was a little soft for my preferences, and the caramel and sweetness was fairly subtle, though I'd have to get the black boba to compare. I was making a boba run in the area and decided to stop by this place and I'm glad I did! I had the mango lavender green tea and the fragrance and aroma of the lavender and tea definitely blew me away. The drink itself was very tea dominant, and blend between the mango flavors and tea itself works really well if you want a refreshing drink in the summer. Although it wasn't the worst I've ever tasted, I tried all the drinks and they were lacking in overall flavor. The torched brown sugar milk tea can't be adjusted sweetness-wise, but even at 100% it tasted a little off. Not enjoyable in the slightest. The Hokkaido and Tieguanyin oolong didn't have much tea flavor and even the milk was a little watery. I would pass on this place. I don't have a sweet tooth, so I always have it at 0% sweetness. The drink is made with condensed milk, so it is already sweet at 0% sweetness. I like the golden boba more than the regular boba because the golden boba has a lightly caramelized flavor. The owner is super nice and sweet!!! The first time I was there, I wanted the Torched Creme Brulee Milk Tea, but I wasn't sure about the level of sweetness. The owner suggested 25% sweetness or 0% sweetness for people who do not have a sweet tooth. So I chose 25%, and when my drink is ready, the owner asked me to try it first. If the drink is too sweet for me, she can offer me a bit more tea in a separate cup, and add it to my drink, so the sweetness balanced out. read more

I have had my share of disappointed orders from other place, but glad to know that they advertise it here. It is also pretty, especially with their special golden boba. I get that being young sometimes means that you are insecure, but not saying thank you to customers and barely making eye contact is not 'cool' or 'cute', it's rude. This has quickly become one of my favorite hangout/ study spots. There is always a plenty of comfy seating and the staff is always super nice. Their cloud foam series are one of the best cream based toppings i've tried in the area ( versus sea salt foam and salted cheese at other locations). Today is the first time I came to the Cozy Tea Loft and I decided to try the Taiwanese Pineapple tea. Unfortunately the pineapple tasted fermented and I politely ask the worker if I was able to exchange my drink. She did not ask me if there was a problem with my drink or what I would have liked to change my drink to. She just asked if I wanted to change my drink entirely and when I said yes, she immediately said "No, we don't do that here". I paid around $8 for my drink for it to taste fermented.
