It adds more flavor to the brown sugar boba milk. Their royal thick milk tea is another drink that I order pretty often. It's on the sweeter side, so I usually get 25% or no added sugar. I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, so if I come here at night, I go for mango yakult 25% sugar with no ice (as pictured.) 3.5 stars for my first visit, but rounding up for their friendly and helpful staff! Since they're still in soft opening mode, I'm sure they're still working out some kinks. I'm looking forward to coming back in a few weeks once everything is ironed out. Cozy Tea Loft is located in a large strip mall. All toppings were an additional $0.65 (except for the QQ, which was an additional $0.75). It wasn't busy when I stopped by around 6:30pm on a Friday, and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Since it was already late in the day and I had to avoid the caffeinated drinks, there weren't too many options on the menu. Upon first sip, I enjoyed it but I know I could have dropped the sweetness level a little more. The cashier was insisting on 50% or more with our group. The shop is super spacious and has a quirky theme to it. There are photo-oops in almost every corner; if you are into that stuff. All in all, I enjoyed my tea. The store's decorations add so much to the ambiance of the whole store. There are plenty of tables to sit and study or talk with friends at, and the chairs are super comfortable too. The decorations make the inside feel so clean and cozy. I ordered the lavender green milk tea which is non-dairy (perfect for lactose intolerant people!) and tried both their black honey boba and their golden caramel boba, both of which were so good. Right off the bat, if pink isn't your thing, avoid this place lol I had came to this plaza to pick up dinner at the japanese restaurant just next door and was craving something sweet. I was making my way back to the car when I turned around and caught the storefront with my peripherals. We dont have too many Taiwanese based tea stores in the area, other than Chi Cha and TP Tea, so i decided to give it a shot. Depending on what time you go, upon walking in, you're blasted by a sea of pink which I didn't mind. The whole setting felt very welcoming to say the least. It was two baristas running the whole store, there were no other customers present, it was a very quiet environment which I appreciate greatly and actually prefer. They even have a Pokémon vending machine which is a nice touch. I got myself the lavender green milk tea with golden boba. I had asked the barista the difference(s) between black and golden boba and they said it was caramel in the golden boba so I decided to give it a shot. It's not the best milk tea I've had but it's by far not the worst either. Like someone else had said, the flavor is there but not quite yet. I'll come back again to try other items on the menu (maybe straight up milk tea next time) but there are other locations nearby, like teaspoon just five min away down the street in the mitsuwa plaza. My friends and I got the tieguanyun milk tea with black pears, Taiwanese pineapple green tea, and the toffee milk tea with golden pearls. I like how authentic all the tea is, and 25% sweetness was perfect for me (I don't like my drinks too sweet). Both kinda of pearls have great texture and the right amount of "Q" ness. The black pearls were a bit tasteless to me but the owner explained to me that they only use sugar water because they wanted to keep all the ingredients healthy and organic. On the other hand, I would say the golden pearls were sweeter as well as what I preferred. Loved my visit to Cozy Tea Loft, may have found my second favorite boba shop after TP Tea. Got here around 2pm on a Wednesday and there was no line, albeit a short wait for drinks due to several parties having ordered before I got there. Got the standard tieguanyin milk tea (all their milk tea drinks are lactose free unless marked otherwise), 0% sweet, with PUDDING! I love pudding as an add on but can't find it at many boba shops around the bay, so make sure you stop by here and support Cozy Tea Loft if pudding is your jam. As one reviewer stated, the pink is a little bit everywhere when you first walk in, but I personally think it's very cute. They've got fake sakura branches coming out of one wall, and the seating is comfy if not totally matching with my personal asthetic. The service is usually excellent. I had a couple times where I was given the wrong lid (because I never get boba), and it's kind of hard to enjoy the cloud foam if you're forced to drink through a straw. It only happened twice before whoever is in charge there swapped out the lids they were using for ones that can double as both a straw lid and a sipping lid. Super nice service and delicious drinks! I've gone here twice in the same week and they did not fail to deliver. Drinks: Tieguanyin with crème brûlée foam Black tea with crème brûlée foam Both were very tasty. The tea is dark and strong with a great aroma (esp. the tieguanyin). The foam is not as thick as other places which I actually prefer. It was light, not too sweet, and added a really good texture and flavor to the tea base! I did not shake and just sipped from the cup and it was really so delicious. The shop itself is very new and clean with some seating / a bar to stand at. Service was quick and very nice. The owner (I think) was really attentive and asked us if they should improve/comment/etc., they were also just really nice.
