I hate to post this review but my meal today was SO DISGUSTING. One of my favorite sandwiches is the Hoosier Daddy, sometimes they are HUGE and sometimes they are small - but always good. Today though it was just all this gristle and fat (and small size luckily). If this is prepared in-house than shame on the worker who allowed this to get through (or the person who trained him). I've been a happy patron for 15 years but it will be a long time to get this terrible taste from my mouth. read more

Great, unique atmosphere! Not another boring chain restaurant. Good prices and very good food. Never too crowded. Great place for a lunch meeting or to watch a game. The Smothered Chicken is amazing and if you love a great tenderloin, you can't go wrong with the Hoosier Daddy! Generous portions and friendly staff. Wow!! I have lived in Fisher's area for a while and have always wanted to come here. Today I finally did because I was craving a tenderloin. What a great experience. Lots of TV's, action figures, pictures, and posters all over the walls. I asked our server about the name because it's a little different and CR stands for (see our) and Hero's because of all the action figures and super heroes on the walls. Very cool environment, and I can't wait to bring my nephew here. Some TVs are playing kids movies and others are playing sports. I found out they have trivia every Thursday so I'm looking forward to coming to that too! We told our server it was our first time here and he offered us a free single pretzel as an appetizer! The place was okay until they slowly started taking everything off the menu, then took away half price appetizers, then decided it was better to start toxic trivia 40 minutes late and speed through it like an inconvenience. After two years of sitting in our lucky booth every other Friday, we are ready to leave this "fine establishment." Why have rules if you aren't going to enforce them? Why is it okay to disrespect MY time, if I am also a paying customer? Not just me, but a room full of people who arrived ten minutes before it's scheduled time. I am saddened by how much this establishment has changed since I first started attending both toxic and family trivias. The worst part was how the OWNER decided to tell the people waiting for trivia to start to calm down, but did not want to tell the table full of kids to leave (who had already finished their dinner). Updated... OCT 2014 They turned the sound down, put more appropriate TV shows and music on and got back to what made them a favorite of ours. Summer 2013 Not for kids anymore after the fire. After they had the fire they put in a ton of flat panels. So now its too loud and too many TVs for a family dinner, BUT it's still great place for solid food and watching a game. Sometimes the service can be a little weak, as the staffers in the dining area are generally teenagers who are too busy chatting with other teenaged co-workers vs being focused on their job. That said everyone is friendly and food always pretty solid, so if you can be patient and want lots of TVs, then you'll like this place. read more

The wife and I were leaving the movies the other day and decided we wanted to try something new. So of course we turn to Yelp!! Looked up the menu for this place and decided to try it out. First of all it says "pub" but it totally family safe. The bar is on one side and the restaurant is on the other (an actual wall in between). The wife has to be gluten free and they have a full gluten free menu with a separate fryer just for gluten allergy people!! I ordered the grilled tenderloin and fries and it was amazing!! Great atmosphere, great service, great food, and I love the theme of honoring our heroes. Local and national!! This is a must try!! read more

My friends from Lawrence rant and rave about how great this place is. One had said they had one of the best tenderloin sandwiches in the state. I will say I'm a little disappointed. The tenderloin was average and sweet potato fries were not crispy. It reminded me of an Applebee's. My friends liked there wraps. Very easy to get a seat and the service is great. read more

This place is only worthy of its current (4 star) rating if you are really in the mood for deep-fried food, food smothered in cheese, or ranch dressing. If you are, great! If you aren't, go elsewhere. Positives: Fun, kid-friendly decor; it's a local establishment and coming here is better than patronizing one of the many nearby chain restaurants; gluten-free options. Negatives: I've tried to order from among the few healthier options on the menu on multiple occasions and been disappointed -- the food is either bland or overly salted. Was really surprised how good this place was. Appetizer we got soft pretzels and they were yummy. Seriously best I've ever had. I got a BLT grilled cheese minus the T and tator tots. Spouse got Philly cheese steak minus onions with cottage cheese. All was really good. Desert was the best. Fresh litte donut holes / bites covered in cinnamon and sugar with fudge and cream cheese frosting. They were awesome. A lot off our beaten path but totaly worth the drive. In short, this place is a local gem and you should eat here. The food is outstanding. Burgers, chicken wings, and sandwiches this place does not disappoint. Time after time they pump out great tasting food whether you're lucky enough to sit down and enjoy it there, or pick it up for a nice bite to eat at home. Pricing is cheap. Hospitality is great. I found this place recently, and have ordered many times since! the service is always quick, and the staff is friendly. I actually have never eaten inside, but I use the pickup service a lot! They have it down to a science on how the curbside pickup works. It's nice to find a good local place with a variety of foods to pick from. The Firecracker burger is so tasty! read more

Was very disappointed today . 1st visit! Maybe my mistake by ordering a monte cristo. Probably the greasiest thing ever. Chose homemade "seasoned " chips. Not a grain of anything on them. Not crisp as would be expected. Place was not busy at all. Service was non existent. Bills had to be done 3 times. And they still were not right! We gave up. The concept was cool. What they lacked in ambience (was kinda dark inside) and food presentation, they made up for it in the taste of the food. My wife really enjoyed their Grape Long Island. My daughter who ordered the chicken & waffles, enjoyed it, but would've preferred to have the syrup and butter on the side. I ordered the hero sirloin with sauteed onions and mushrooms. Hubby and I went last Friday night for the first time. It doesn't look like much driving by, it's in a strip mall with a few other places. We didn't realize that there are two separate sides, one for family dining and the other more of a dive bar. Friday night at 730, the family side was super busy and loud. We opted for the bar side which was completely empty. We ordered pretzels as an app and holy cats, they're amazing. Puts Auntie Ann's to shame. I could eat them all day long, hot and buttery on the outside, fluffy goodness on the inside. The ranch and cheese served with were tasty too. Hubby ordered the chicken and noodles which he devoured. He proclaimed they're almost as good as homemade. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken was a bit dry, but nothing honey mustard couldn't fix. Fries are good, nothing earth shattering. The menu is extensive, nice range of options. Service was prompt and food probably took 20 minutes. Decided to stop in based off some reviews and we were not disappointed! There is a bar, completely separated by a wall from the family dining side. We ate on the family side. The walls are covered in superhero decor, both the superman and real heros (like fireman) varieties. Lots of tvs with cartoons and sports playing. Our server was Matthew. He was very kind and attentive. My husband asked him to put the Cubs game on, and he happily obliged. He answered all our questions and was excellent. We ordered a sampler appetizer. You can pick 2,3,or 4 items. We did fried pickle chips and a pretzel. We added beer cheese for 0.50. Both items were excellent, especially the pretzel & beer cheese. My husband got the friend tenderloin sandwich and fries. I got the firecracker bites with Mac and cheese. Each one cost $11.00. The firecracker bites are little crispy chicken bites, with firecracker sauce, covered in cole slaw, served on Hawaiian rolls. Delicious! There's a small game area for kids. And from signs it appears they have special kids eat free nights, game nights, etc. Highly recommend checking this place out! read more

Met a friend there because it was close to where he was dog sitting and he had been there before. Billed as a family pub. One side is the bar area the other is larger and family friendly. I guess they're trying to please all hero lovers....there are super heroes and sports heroes and political heroes plastered everywhere. Decent selection of craft beers on tap, written on a chalk board but didn't say what type of beers they were. Our server was very helpful on that front. Food exceeded all expectations. Cold fresh salad with real lettuce....not that bleached bagged crap. I had the petite filet and twice baked potato. The steak was seasoned nicely and cooked perfectly medium rare. The potato was the blow away. In a large ramekin were smashed potatoes, sour cream and butter with cheese, chives and bacon on top. YUM read more

The kids menu is fairly large and includes shakes. This menu is not the healthiest but if you're in the mood for some junk food then this is your spot. First time I went service was great! Food was delicious, not a single complaint! The second time we were seated, and that was the last time we were acknowledged by the staff. Every table around us was seated after us and had put in their orders before we got up and left. I'm sure there was a miscommunication somewhere but we waited for 30 minutes and weren't even looked at. Unacceptable. read more
