I read reviews and wasn't sure if this place. Glad we didn't listen and are here. I had the shrimp tacos. They were very flavorful and had a kick (hubby didn't think they did). The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Husband got the fish & chips and he didn't leave a drop. Glad they had fish sticks on the kids menu, my son had eaten enough chicken on our trip. They weren't the frozen ones, they were just like the fish & chips just a smaller portion perfect for a kid. Not a drop left on his plate either. The quality of the food has been consistent and delicious every time we visit. The staff could be a little more attentive but seems to be expected now days. We were traveling down to Orlando and decided to take a detour through St Augustine on A1A to look for a nice lunch spot. We stopped in at Crabby's which is directly across from the public beach parking. Crabby's has both indoor and outdoor seating and has a bar in both the first and second floor. We elected to sit outside on the upper balcony. We shared an appetizer of hush puppies (half order has 6) and then shared the Mayport Shrimp Boil. The hush puppies come with honey but I like the tarter sauce. The shrimp boil had plenty of shrimp to share and came with a large sausage link and 2 ears of corn. The sauce was delicious! I would have loved some potatoes like a traditional low country boil but this dish doesn't come with potatoes. Our server was super and really kept our glasses full as it was hot outside during our visit. I look forward to trying some other dishes on a future visit to Crabby's. read more

The staff was friendly and attentive, although it took them a while to notice we were there lol, but other than that - very nice and helpful. This place is really good! We went on Saturday night and called ahead for 11 people. We got there a had to wait about 30 minutes (which was expected for a Saturday night). We had excellent service and the food quality was exceptional. I had the salmon with broccoli and cheese grits and I really enjoyed it. I can't help feeling that for the price the place should have been a lot posher. For $54 we got a smallish wine, a beer, one good looking and tasting grouper sandwich, and a small but tasty Key Lime pie. Silverware wrapped in a thin napkin brought in a plastic container. Tables set up in a severe formation. I didn't find it very charming. Just down the street the Sunset Grill is full of beach charm, with good food and a better wine pour at a much better price. My wife and I went and had some good food and I really enjoyed the oysters and the artichoke spinach dip. The service was great. The reason we chose was because they were advertising 10% off for locals. We live in the Hammock/Marine land area about 17 miles south on A1A. And were denied the 10% discount that was advertised for locals because they said we were too far. We consistently eat in Saint Augustine Beach and go as far as Flagler Beach. I hate to say it, but I don't think I will be back for something as petty as that. We go up to that area at least twice a week and always tip very well and our loyal. Go here now! Great food and perfect service!!!! Ask to sit in Cholette's section! We arrived at our vacation destination early and needed to kill a little time. At first we were going to go to another beachside eatery but the parking was a zero of 10. We decided to try this Crabby's location. The parking was plentiful and stress free. We had the good fortune of being seated with the best server in St. Augustine, Cholette. Our daughter was disappointed to find out that chocolate milkshakes were not a menu item, but Cholette and Carol found a work around to make her happy with what our youngest called the best milkshake ever. There is a slight view of the ocean. The inside is clean and relaxed. There are two bar areas and restrooms located both upstairs and downstairs. We discovered they serve breakfast also! And Cholette is working breakfast! The price for 3 entrees, appetizer, specialty drink, and draft beers was around $80 which is a fairly good deal. Over all happy with our visit and will return soon. The sweet tea they have there is TOP TIER and absolutely fire the service is was good and checked in us often. The location of the place was calm for a Tuesday and there wasn't many people around. We had an amazing lunch experience at Crabby's beachside. We were traveling from Georgia back home to Broward county Florida and stopped for a beachside lunch. We were with our to dogs and the staff was wonderful. As soon as we got to our table someone from the staff came out with two bowls of ice water for the dogs.
