A short walk from our Airbnb, our group tried Crabby's last night. Overall a great experience. Basel our server was very friendly, attentive and created a fun atmosphere. We had a variety of dishes, Fish & Chips, Mahi-Mahi Taco's, Combination Platter of Blackened Grouper and Shrimp, and Shrimp Fettuccine. All dishes were very flavorful, fresh and tasty with good portions. They have both inside and outside seating with heaters, it was pretty windy so we sat upstairs which is open air but with heaters. The views at Sunset were amazing. Would definitely recommend Crabby's if in Clearwater Beach. read more

This is our 3rd time visiting Crabby's Dockside. As locals we usually avoid the more touristy places like CWB but the rooftop at sunset is amazing and the food is consistently fresh and good. We usually have the fresh catches like grouper or hogfish snapper and their house salads are amazingly good. We've only done rooftop seating and it gets windy up there but the atmosphere is great. With so many choices for fresh seafood it says something that we've been 3 times in 3 months. We even tried the crabbys at Johns pass and it was awesome as well. Our waiter has been Phrank 2/3 visits and he's great at what he does, no matter the situation he's got you covered. All in all I'm a fan, do rooftop around 7:45 and you'll be there for a beautiful show. Week nights you probably won't have to wait, plan ahead on weekends and holidays. I REALLY wanted to write an awesome review for this place, but our dinner here was disappointing. We were on vacation and decided to go here for our ONE nice, expensive dinner out. We arrived for a late dinner (around 8:30pm) after the dinner rush. We asked for somewhere with a view and the hostess told us to take the table on the rooftop. We walked the 3 flights of stairs and were led to a table, surrounded by other tables, right by the kitchen door. No view, and servers going in and out of the kitchen carrying plates, bumping my table several times and talking loudly. Were not the type to complain, so we took it. We ordered dinner (2 entrees and 1 app) and I had been really looking forward to trying the Ceviche. 20 minutes later, our entrees arrived... the appetizer never came. The waitress blamed the kitchen, the runners, anyone she could, for the mixup. She took it off the bill, but didn't try to make it right at all! As someone who has worked in food service, I would have at least given a free drink or brought the appetizer anyway, no charge. But nope! Also, we ordered the "upgrade" with the crabs and got mussels with it. More than half of my mussels were only shell. No mussel inside. I searched the broth to see if they had fallen out and into it, but nope- empty. What a waste. Also, we ordered the "upgrade" with the crab meal. For $10 extra you could get mussels on your plate. It was explained to us, that we got the same portion as the appetizer, but at a discount. We asked if it came with garlic bread and we were told no. So we ordered garlic bread too. In the end we ended up paying MORE than if we had just ordered it as an appetizer!! Completely ridiculous. Thank God we ordered that garlic bread or both of us would have left still hungry. Oh and they charge you by the 3/4 pound for crabs. Not the pound. So when you order, you recieve a piece of the crab. Not the whole thing. Just something to think about... It's a shame, because the food here is good. We loved our crabs. They were fresh and delicious. But the service leaves much to be desired. I'm bummed. When we went to Clearwater beach and saw it was there we were excited, and ended up going to both locations in Clearwater beach during our stay. This location is more modern than the other ones we have been too, we sat on the 3rd floor and had a great view of the marina and the beach across the street. We stopped in for lunch, brought them our fresh Spanish Mackerel catches from our fishing charter with Reel Deal Sportfishing, and they cooked it to perfection. For $10.99/pound, they'll cook it fried, grilled, blackened, or a combination, and the price includes fries and coleslaw. We went half fried and half blackened, and it was a mouthwatering delight. The staff is always welcoming and attentive, and they didn't seem annoyed that we brought our own fresh catches. It added to the charm of the place, and we left feeling like part of the family.
