I was waiting for a boat tour and found this place hear by. The staff was so kind and accommodating, and I love how my server walked me through the menu and let me know what was big portions so I don't ever order. I still ate with my eyes and over ordered lol but no regrets! The combo platters were the best value in my opinion! Flavorful and delicious. Very filling and took good with me. Sadly, it slid from me on the boat tour and a rogue child crushed my food. I was so sad because the food was so good! 5/5 and definitely recommend. The epitome of a tourist spot - flashy, looks like a good idea, on the water-ish and in the heart of Clearwater Beach area. A red flag was that they don't serve anything locally off the boats literally right next to them like the other restaurants around them. Another would be the scarcity of crab selection on the menu. DAFUQ- The RESTAURANT IS CALLED CRABBIES. I ordered the crab legs (Bairdi crab) which the waiter stated was phenomenal. Well they were phenomenally bad. I couldn't crack them because they were bendy & were like rubber. I opened one and the meat was green and gray in which I returned the legs immediately (I hope I don't get food poisoning). The manager CHARGED ME for my replacement which I had to WAIT FOR. Mind you I didn't even want the sides because my whole party was waiting for me to get my food and I didn't want to slow down the process. She charged me for my replacement food for the bad crab legs I got (a la carte, no sides) and stated "we don't know what's in them until they're cracked open". cop out alert: Not an excuse to charge your customers for the replacement. I'm seriously blown away - I have never seen a restaurant do this. Also, note my husband's fish (mahi) was over cooked and rubbery and the rice was undercooked and crunchy but he didn't say anything because he's a pushover when it comes to these situations. Disappointing. I spent over $150 on dinner I literally felt like I may as well have thrown my cash into the ocean. Worst feeling ever (that is, if I don't get food poisoning on the plane on the way home in a few hours - FML) Good stuff: waiter was nice enough , nice view and location. read more

We decided to have a late dinner at around 7:30 at night. We had about a half an hour wait but it wasn't bad just shopped around the surf style store near the restaurant. We were seated upstairs and it was quite warm up there even the open patio but that's expected in Florida. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. So kudos to Savannah for great job. We ordered calamari and Ceviche for an appetizer both were pretty good. We also ordered oysters. Generally the oysters in the area were very small compared to what we've had in New Orleans and other cities. I had the 3/4 crab legs for dinner the smaller portion which included one claw. It was pretty pricey but it was still tasty. My daughter got the Cajun chicken alfredo and it was a large portion and quite flavorful. Overall food and service was great. Be sure to call ahead for a table at this classic beach restaurant, even on a Monday. Multiple stories to view the water and large parties welcome. The servers have a ton of energy and amazing attitudes. A great place to bring the family during vacation or take relatives who are in town. It's not exactly a locals place but it's good enough I think it's worth trying once if your can handle the chaos and find parking. The food is par the course, maybe a little better than your average beach restaurant for a similar price. It will be crowded for dinner, especially during sunset. The drinks are really good here and they have a variety of house specialties. I loved the crab spinach dip but would likely skip the crab cakes next time. They weren't bad, just nothing too special. On an awkward note, right when I sat down one of my chair legs slipped through the gap between the floor and the guard rail. First time here vacationing here in Clearwater and just went on yelp to see what we can eat around this area and this restaurant showed up. Food was pretty good here! Seafood is super fresh and delicious. Ordered the boom boom shrimp tacos, the creamy crab and spinach dip and the key west grilled crabby combo and all of it was delicious. We wanted to order the alligator bites but it was popular and sold out for the day which was pretty upsetting. Service was great here! Our server Sammy was so attentive, helpful and super friendly. She was super nice and provided us with absolute great service! The vibes to this place was awesome. We sat outdoors and the weather was perfect for us. Walked over after getting off the little toot, this was perfect spot for lunch. Our waitress was awesome and honest about what she liked on the menu when we asked questions. Service was pretty bad. Food was on par with McDonald's quality. We ordered several appetizers and drinks. We thought our waiter was going to be good because he seemed energetic. We ordered drinks that he delivered then ordered an appetizer. He brought us our drinks and told us our appetizer should be out shortly. He did come back after a while and our appetizer still wasn't ready, but we asked for another beer. He went past our table a few times, but must have forgotten about the beer. When he came back after quite awhile to tell us he would check on our appetizer that still wasn't out, he noticed that the beer bottle was empty never realizing that he didn't come back with the beer we asked for earlier. We again said that we would like another beer and never mentioned that he forgot it. (We couldn't even catch him because he either went to other tables or went somewhere out of sight) When we finally got our food he brought us the beer we had asked for and I asked for the check as soon as he could get it to us because I was afraid we'd be waiting forever to get the check and would be sitting waiting. Well, he never brought our check by the time we finished our meal. We saw him organizing cups at the bar and waiting hoping he would remember us. He didn't bring our check just like we were worried about. So, we decided to get up and see if we could have the hostess get a check for us. I realize that's not her job, but we were pretty irritated by then and wanted to leave. She actually asked us to find him to get our bill. Then she said she would go get him probably after realizing we weren't very happy. We normally tip 30-40% while on vacation. We didn't do that this time. UPDATED REVIEW! A lot has changed since I went here about 3 years ago. New menu, new seating arrangements, new vibe. We got there around 7pm on a Monday. It was PACKED! However, there are 3 floors of seating options. We opted for the top floor for bar seating, which was plentiful. Our bartender/waiter was Phrank. He was awesome!!! He's the reason I went with 5 stars for this review! Food: oysters only come in a dozen but my sister in law destroyed them. We also shared the crab & spinach dip. A MUST for your appetizer. We both opted for the crab or lobster plus--2 sides and the rest is al a cart. The jumbo lobster tail is to die for. Drinks: literally everyone we drank was delicious. They have a full bar so if you don't see what you'd like on the cocktails list, they can make it Parking: street and beach parking. I suggest parking at the hotel that has Jimmy Crows Nest on the roof. It's not free but sometimes you get lucky. Short 3 minute walk to Crabbys from there. Attire: beach casual. 10/10 , what a great experience from start to finish , this place really knows how to handle a busy crowd! Gave our name to the hostess they contact you via text when they are ready for you ! We waited for our table in the bar area and although very crowded the bar tenders were very attentive and the drinks were delicious ! We were seated on the second floor with Jenn T and could not be more pleased from start to finish , she was running circles around the crowds and was phenomenal about drink refills and checking on us , was super helpful with explaining things on the menu ! Got everything on our order correct and served to us faster then lightning , she understood the importance of being out to dinner with a toddler and made sure to get our little guy a great big chocolate milk with a lid and got his order of fries to our table within minutes which made such a relaxing dinner for the adults , she was a server whom went above and beyond ! I live in Clearwater and this was my first time visiting this location. They seem extremely busy all the time. we were told was was 45 minutes but they called us within seven minutes. This was my first time at Crabby and it was pretty good. The restaurant is 3 stories and has a great view of Clearwater beach and pier 60. You do have to pay for the parking that's right next to the restaurant with parking meter/ by app. Once we got to the hostess table, the host gave us a ticket that told us which floor our table would be at. And right next to the first floor hostess table is the elevator and stairs for easy assess to the second or third floor. The waitress was great and knowledgeable on the menu! The food: I ordered the alligator bites which were amazing and probably the best thing at this restaurant. I also order the fried calamari and I felt there wasn't any flavor so I didn't not enjoy it. My family weren't impressed though since it taste like chicken. I also ordered the Bairdi crab with their old bay seasoning and butter garlic. It was pretty good but the old bay seasoning does get repetitive and more salty as you eat it. I would just recommend less of it or seasoning on the side since you won't have the seasoning on the crab leg meat. My family had the other dish and said it was good. It's a very mainstream place, but I've still really enjoyed all of my experiences at Crabbys. It's literally right across the street from the main part of Clearwater beach which is so convenient, I think it takes maybe 5 minutes to walk there from the sand depending on traffic. My mom has an unhealthy obsession with coming here- she lovessss the coconut shrimp, and they are actually super good. They are huge and there is a pepper jam that you can dip in them that is just fantastic and really pulls the dish together. Clam chowder is pretty good too, Key Lime pie is nice and tart and yummy, and the workers are always super friendly that I've seen. I recently tried the grouper tacos and those have been my favorite thing I've had yet. There's also 3 levels and two floors of outdoor seating with a gorgeous beach view, along with a nice patio seating area where there's live music sometimes. read more

Asked the chair-rent guy where he recommended for lunch--he said Crabby's--"great food and not quite as expensive as the ones kind of closer". (When you leave your rented chairs, put a towel over to save) Just across the street from beach--Crabby's is one nice place. I had the grouper sandwich, wife had Buffalo chicken sandwich--both great. I spent eight full days in Florida and this was my favorite restaurant of all!! We were overjoyed to find reasonably priced parking that allowed us to eat and peruse the pier with no trouble! We were seated immediately, despite a spring break crowd. We sat upstairs with a view of the harbor and had a great server who was attentive and easy on the eyes, which our teen girls enjoyed immensely (ha!). The food was OUTSTANDING. We ordered several appetizers (see photos) to share and our group of four did not go hungry! The portions were large and the quality was top-notch.
