The bar in the restaurant is great, with a couple of nice TVs for sports, and the somewhat dark, basement-oriented style of the restaurant is really cool and unique. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Grilled Bacon & Blistered Shishito Pepper Burger. While the burger looked delicious, and tasted decent, I had higher hopes for it. I was wanting the burger to be a bit more juicy and spicy. While there is some room for improvement there, it's definitely still a place I'll be back to!

I ordered one of their beers on tap: Orange Avenue Wheat Ale brewed with orange and honey 5.2%. This is one of their iconic popular beers and an award-winning brew. Stays as a classic in their books. I highly recommend this beer if you are indecisive of what to order from. 5/5 To eat I decided to order an appetizer: Islander Ahi Poke (Ahi tuna in a poke marinade with cucumber & avocado over seaweed slaw. Finished with wasabi aioli, sesame seeds & micro greens) Served with wonton crisps Very unique way to enjoy poke sitting over seaweed slaw. But it is refreshing and flavorful overall. Paired up well with my Orange Avenue Beer. This location offers indoor seating as well as some outdoor seating. A bar with TV displays that include fans watching the Padres play on the screen. Apparently, you can sometimes get German food from a window around the side of the bar but the cook was AWOL during our visit, which was honestly a major disappointment. Like many people, I need some kind of food or snack to keep me going while I am imbibing. Interior is from the 1980s or 70s...but still clean, dark, faded red carpet, vintage wood panel walls, beer decor, a single pool table in the back, an older, friendly and gentlemanly bartender, and a clientele that was 90% men at this early hour. Three craft lager beers and a generous mimosa was $29, which I thought was very reasonable in an expensive, ritzy, and yuppy filled city like Coronado.
