Cracker Barrel is usually a good choice for decent food and reasonable prices when travelling. We ate at a local place the day before but decided to stop here this morning - glad we did. Food was above par so we came back for dinner so this is a 2 part review. Breakfast: Served promptly and food was fresh. I honestly think that most of the food is fresher than the local place we enjoyed the day before. Love the breakfast sausage and gravy. Coffee could use some improvement. Dinner: We came back for the campfire dinners. I got the chicken - wife got the beef. Mine was perfect and just the right amount of food. Her beef was over cooked and dry but she said it was still pretty good. It was close to six and they were nearly out of the campfire dinners. Dessert: This is worth the price of admission folks. I ordered the blackberry cobbler which was decent but lacking much of the crust - which is the best part of a cobbler. Wife ordered the apple dumpling cobbler thing. First off, this thing is large enough for 3-4 peeps. WOW. And it is freshly baked - steaming hot - two scoops of ice cream and lots of crust - but not too much. We were hesitant to try to Cracker Barrel after reading the Yelp reviews, but after a week in Branson and staying by a hotel next to it it was our only option. Service is beyond quick, our waiter was very nice with a smile on their face, and the staff in the store was equally as friendly. If you are staying in the area this would be the only place worth eating as the other restaurants in the area are kind of hole in the wall. read more

Ate here on our final day of our Branson Trip and we were not disappointed. We came in fairly late for dinner, a little after 830 and were seated immediately. Our server Danielle was fantastic. She was very friendly, always smiling and was very attentive. Hubby ordered the meatloaf, which he enjoyed. And our son ordered the Mac n cheese, which he said was the best ever. Of course, to him, anything with cheese is the best ever. lOl. I ordered the campfire chicken which was absolutely phenomenal. Crazy flavorful and the chicken fell right off the bone, he vegetables (carrots, red potatoes, corn, tomatoes and onions) were juicy and delicious. I honestly could not get enough of this, and only wish I had enough biscuits to sop up every last bit. Our food came out in no time at all, and the restaurant appeared clean and organized. The shop was filled with nifty things as always. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here. I would definitely recommend the campfire meals to everyone. read more

11/23/19.. Our food we were served, party of 3 was disgusting. The hamburger steak was a frozen Patty that tasted terrible and they forgot to put brown gravy on it as we requested. The sirloin steak we ordered medium rare was like a piece of leather, the mashed potatoes had sour white gravy. We love Cracker Barrel restaurants, and found this one to great. We went for breakfast and found their pecan pancakes to be delicious. Everyone got their meals just as ordered. Terrible experience and we haven't even got our food yet! I called in on the drive here to see what the wait would be like and was told it would be a twenty minute wait. Arrived ten minutes later to be told it would be a half hour wait. We looked around, bought a few items, and an hour later we noticed the party of 21 that came in after us was being seated! I am pregnant, starving, and now extremely upset! The staff is acting as if they have no idea what they are doing! I'm sorry to say that this place was pretty dismal as far as the food goes. Our server was great, our food was cold. Biscuits were doughy in the center, grossly under baked. When we asked if we could have darker/more done ones, we were told they all look like that. While we do not live in the area, we definitely will NOT be going back in future visits, particularly after waiting an hour to be seated. read more

We waited 45 mins on a very busy Sunday morning for a table of 14 including children. The breakfast eggs, sausage and bacon were average to below average at best, while the grits were inedible. Our kids mac and cheese was burnt. Everything was luke warm and tasted like they were reheated in the microwave. The only things I didn't mind having more of was coffee and the biscuit and gravy. My husband and I came for breakfast as we usually do on our annual Anniversary trip to Branson. The last time compared to this visit were like day and night. Our server was SUPER rude, another server brought our food out while our server was so busy cleaning the table beside us. He walked right by us and never asked if we needed anything to go along with our meal. On his third trip walking by and never checking in on us- I finally had to Say excuse me sir we need a few things, he then brought them ten minutes later. We ran out of drinks, we had to ask for refills and then we got our ticket and had been charged for an additional item we didn't order. Our server never came back so we could address the issue. We got to the cash stand and let the cashier know we needed an item to be removed. They called our server to the front and he never apologized, just rolled his eyes "said ok what do you want me to do about it" real snarky. Worst service in some time and poor quality breakfast. Could've been okay even with mediocre fare, but the slow rude waitress that couldn't keep her fingers off the rim of the glasses and cups really made the experience extra bad. The days of Cracker Barrel being a dependable standard is gone. The last few times we have visited Cracker Barrel it has not been a good experiences. So in a way I'm glad we went to this location, because it has turned my devoted CB loving husband against returning. We ordered breakfast and much of it was not edible. The waitress was MIA except to give us a check. The grease they used was old had a bad taste. The biscuits were undercooked and doughy. The eggs were undercooked and watery. The only edible item was the pancakes. Like I said the consistence of CB is not there anymore, so as a part time local I won't be recommending anyone stop here. It seems their main concern is to get as many people in and out as fast as they can without concern about quality. Slow down improve the quality and be good again. read more

We've been here many times for great food but this visit was awful. The shrimp platter, advertised on the menu as a "full pound of shrimp" consisted of 7 medium sized shrimp.
