If you like cold pancakes this will be your go to. Came here today and ordered a pancake meal with eggs scrambled soft. My eggs were over cooked and the pancakes were hot enough for the butter to sit on top unable to melt down. I asked the waitress for fresh cakes which she had no problem doing. However now I'm completely done eating my sausage and eggs and still no pancakes. She came to ask if everything was good. I said NO and please remove my meal from the bill because at this point I don't even want the pancakes. She said she would send the manager over. Here comes the manager walking up with a tone of what do you want. He said "HOW CAN I HELP YOU" I looked up, smiled & said it's OK. I am good. #1 it now felt like a joke. #2 he smelled so bad I couldn't even get my words out. He walked off but the server came back with the bill without my meal being charged. This location doesn't seem to be up to par with other Cracker Barrels. They seem to have only one or two harried waitresses working when there are large crowds of people. On a Thursday evening we were told that the wait would be at least 40 min and this was after waiting a long time to put our order in. Apparently they had several call in orders that left the kitchen backed up. After seeing the waitress apologize about the wait to several other tables we decided to try dinner somewhere else before we put our order in. I have tried the Coca cola cake here before and I agree with other yelpers that its just not what it used to be. Now don't get me wrong, I love Cracker Barrel. We visit at least one location every time we come out to Phoenix. Today we tried a different location from our standard I17 location. The Watson Ave location off I10 was conveniently located in the Tesla Supercharger parking lot so it was a perfect. The restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. It was warm and inviting. The fireplace was lit and provided great ambiance. The staff was pleasant and very welcoming. Our visit was great until our food was delivered. None of the three meals were correct. My bacon and egg sandwich was missing bacon, DH two egg breakfast with toast was missing toast and my FIL's double meat breakfast had undercooked soggy bacon. Finally got the correct order! We were served very quickly and the waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. The reason for the 3 star and not at least a 4 is due to the lack of product in the store that we were looking to purchase and the cleanliness of the restrooms. We were driving back to Los Angeles County this day and looking to purchase some candy bars for the ride. We were looking for plain Hershey bars and the store only had Hershey with Almonds! Then, obviously we wanted to use the restroom prior to leaving and the restroom was just nasty! Upon walking inside of the restroom, there were paper towels overflowing from the trash can onto the floor. There was a disgusting odor, and the stalls were unclean! First time CB visit, hopefully not the last! Have been hearing about this place for a long time but, being in CA, never had the chance to check one out. By all the sounds of it, the food is good, solid home cooking...not meant to be healthy by any means but instead is for comfort and cuddles. On our visit, we were NOT disappointed. We were on our way back to CA from AZ and wanted some breakfast. This place popped up on our Yelp radar so we took a detour and stopped in. It was doing brisk business but thankfully there was no wait to be seated. It did, however, take a bit to get waited on. It appeared our server was responsible for our entire section and maybe part of another. She kept apologizing but was able to come around more often when some of the other tables cleared out. The food...was solid, good and really hit the spot. Certainly, I don't think any doctor recommends having chicken fried steak or biscuits and gravy every morning...but it sure is a great occasional treat. Hubby ended up getting a the Country Boy breakfast and he went with the sirloin steak and hashbrown casserole. I got Uncle Herschel's with a ham steak and hashbrown casserole. And quite honestly, the hashbrown casserole was one of the most amazing things I've tasted in a long time. That such humble ingredients could be transformed into some deliciousness reminded me that you don't need truffles or foie gras to dine well. My ham was really tasty as well, being not too salty with just the right amount of fat. Hubby's steak, while not the most tender, was well seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium. From what I could see, most of the breakfasts come with "the fixin's" which was a pile of tender biscuits, gravy and butter/jam. The gravy was nice and smoky, kind of different from other versions I've had. Definitely not a bad choice for breakfast. In town for work and have seen this place in shows, so decided to give it a try. Tried the country dinner and peach tea. Crispy fried chicken, side of Mac and side of mashed potatoes with gravy. So good and good prices! The tea was delicious, not overly sweet, they even gave me one to go The best part of the experience was the customer service! Every one I encountered was super nice. My server, Adriana M., is kind and attentive. I overheard her having a conversation with a family and it was so sweet how she remembered them from previous visits. Sea did a fabulous job today when me and my sister went to go and eat. She went above and beyond and made sure me and my sister had a great experience for the first time going to eat. Don't normally have a bad experience with Cracker Barrel but this location specifically in Buckeye has had poor customer service for on 2 different occasions. First time I ordered hash brown casserole as a side and requested them to be made plain. I got to curbside checked in and my order came out and they weren't made plain. So ok fine I called in to see if I can get them remade since I have gotten plain hash browns before with no issue. They transferred me 3 times I speak with the manger which I did not request by the way but she told me that they don't make them plain and that they couldn't do anything about it. Ok fine understood. 2nd time I had curbside Ordered the same thing figured hey maybe they will make them this time around but I'm not expecting it since my last experience. I checked in and waited at curbside for almost 20 min past my pickup time so I decided to get off since they usually bring it out right away. Mind you none of these times were busy peak times it was during the day with an empty parking lot. I go inside to find my order just sitting on the counter. The 2 workers that were there were just casually chatting away. So I let them know that I've been outside waiting and they just deflect and say we don't have hash browns. So now no hash browns here. Ok fine I get it but the real reason is If I didn't get off who was going to tell me about the hash browns and how much longer was my food just going to be sitting on the counter? Just very poor customer service and experience. So if your doing curbside don't order hash browns and don't use curbside here at this buckeye location. Shouldn't be that way since I can go to another location and order the same thing with no issues. With that said I still love you Cracker Barrel just not this location. Cracker Barrel has always been hit or miss for me. My Country Fried Steak was super salty, but it was cooked perfectly. My eggs were also cooked perfectly, but I had to eat slowly as my meal was very salty. I ordered their Peach Tea and although it was delicious, I never got the refill that I asked for. I needed the refill to cleanse my mouth from all the salt, but we ended up getting the check and leaving before getting the refill. It was super busy so service was slow (which is understandable) so I would give this location a second chance. It's close to home and our waitress was super sweet so it could have always been an off day for them. On another note, their shop up from has the best selection of old candy so I had to buy some to take home. Their prices are totally reasonable both in the restaurant and in the store. If you ever want Christmas decorations throughout the year, this is the place to go. read more

They have a cute little store that sells a little bit of everything, however it all seemed overpriced. We went on a Monday morning so we were seated quickly. It was fairly empty but the waitress seemed rushed. We had just sat down and were already asked what we wanted to eat. I ordered the French toast and my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. The food was good and fresh but I don't see what the hype was about. Nothing that would make me want to go back. And I definitely don't like to feel rushed. Especially since it wasn't even busy. I may try it again if I'm ever in an area with one and it's not busy, but I definitely wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes to eat here. read more

This is my very first review, and it's not a very pleasant one, which i wish it was! I came in today for my first time with my dad and boyfriend, and we sat close to the kitchen. Food was good, the service was okay, but what makes us not wanting to ever go back is hearing this guy call this girl a bitch like 5 different times! Is this how this restaurant works? We figured out which girl it was since it looked like she had been crying! My dad asked to speak to a manager. The lady that was just walking by our table said he's busy on phone calls, The manager needs to can that guy, and if someone asks to speak to a manager, maybe get off the phone for 3 minutes to see what your customer needs So if you want to hear some foul language while eating and being ignored by a manager, then this is your spot! We went in for dinner. My husband and I decided to go for breakfast for supper. I ordered the Breakfast Sampler and my husband got the French Toast and Chicken. Everything in our meals was very good except my egg whites. They had a very strong chemical taste to them. It coasted your mouth and even the coffee couldn't wash it out. I let my server know and ahe offered to have them remade. The second ones were worse!! My husband even tasted them and agreed they were inedible. We let Karen the manager know that the batch of egg whites was bad and shouldn't be served. She tells me that the next time I come in I should ask my server to have the kitchen make my egg whites with REAL EGGS instead of the FAKE eggs with additives I was served. That was very disappointing and the managers unwillingness to listen to us that those eggs whites should not be served. I have had egg beaters and the like and I have NEVER had them taste like floor cleaner. And the fact that a restaurant that serves country home cooking can't be bothered to separate and egg. Saw these restaurants on my road trip but didn't think to stop until my coworker suggested it. I'm quite glad I tried it because it was actually good wholesome food! I ordered the rainbow trout with turnip greens and Brussels sprouts with kale salad. This was excellent!!! Our server also offered the choice of having one of each: the biscuit and corn bread. The portion was just right and thoroughly enjoyed my order. My husband however had the chicken dumplings which I did not care for. But this review is solely about meal. When we head toward Phoenix, I typically stop at the Buckeye location because its the first one we bump into after crossing the AZ / CA border. By the time we get here, its usually lunchtime and we're starving. Its a Cracker Barrel. You see one, you've basically seen them all. However, for some of us who don't have a Cracker Barrel in our state (ie: California), we relish the chance to come here. Upon walking in, you're greeted by the general store, full of merchandise. Head toward the back and find the Hostess podium to check in and place your name. On this particular Saturday afternoon, there was no wait for our group of 6. At first the hostess tried to seat us next to the hostess station. I'm not fond of getting a continuous stream of foot traffic while eating, so we asked for a different table. We were seated in the back. Fortunately one of my friends looked at her seat. There was water all over the seat, probably from the bus tray they used to clean the table. We had to swap out our chair, and report it. Our server Paige was friendly but not the brightest. We asked her for the Soup of the Day, and she actually told us "I don't know". She thought it was vegetable. We asked her to go find out. She finally came back and told us the soup of the day, and we each placed our order for food. We also asked her another question about the menu, which she didn't know. The food came out fine, but she was terrible about refilling drinks, especially my friend's cup of coffee, which we had to ask twice. She also forgot to give him butter, but lucky there was plenty of butter with the biscuits. Three stars for the service. It was average. The food at Cracker Barrel is always the same. Its American comfort food, where the portions are decent, its tasty and the prices are very reasonable. read more

It was a Monday night dinner hour and the server tried. Our party had 3 wheelchairs and we had to ask for different seating. Food was ordered and delivered with in an appropriate amount of time. Taste was fair. Nothing amazing but nothing bad. My big complaint was the bill for dinner was delivered with the food. The Server did not return to fill our drinks. A member of the party dropped their plate and it shattered on the floor. I picked up as many pieces as I could but no one came with a broom to help. read more

First time to eat at CB - didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! Hubby and I on our last leg of a very long road trip from SoCal - AZ - TX - NM - AZ - heading back home to SoCal. We had driven by so many CBs on the trip and thought, why not try their breakfast. Our server, Sandy, was great and the food we ordered tasted like comfort food. We arrived in the middle of lunch rush... Had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. Lots of stuff to browse while waiting and it's super adorable to be able to play checkers while we wait. The chicken fried steak was as good as I remembered and I'd recommend that anytime. Mac n cheese was just better than ok this time.... spice rubbed pork dinner was super tough and that was a big disappointment; the fried okra wasn't very good either.
