I wanted so much to treat the lovely missus to a Cracker Barrel Old Country. She was the navigator on our road trip, and now we are just past that ringroad 202 on the I-10, coming from Lordsburg NM. I saw the sign and thought that would be a wonderful treat. There is no problem with parking in the middle of the day when everyone is looking for coolness, and we entered the store/ restaurant. Not wanting to shop, we asked to be seated. 2 of us, please. The hostess was clueless, holding that tablet in front of her. She took us to a table Midway in the restaurant where you could have a good view of everyone coming and going out of the kitchen. We looked at the menu, and I am always game when it comes to Fried Chicken plate. So we waited for staff to bring water or take our order.... even took a trip to the RR to wash my sweaty hot hands from driving in the AZ heat. Lovely missus says nobody came to the table....25 minutes now while we watch and tried to summon. A waitress says oh have you been helped?? And then proceeded to attend to another table...at the 30-minute mark we left ....no drinks...no food...no service. A kind lady patron helped to make sure the reading glasses were not forgotten. At the checkout counter, two ladies were informed of why we left as well as the hostess that seated us. Where is the manager? Oh, he is somewhere in the kitchen. Breakfast: Service slow, food cold. Ask for crispy bacon, crispy hash-browns. Served, next to raw bacon and almost cooked hash brown potatoes. Other breakfast, eggs must have been placed on cold, tough ham, because eggs cold Our two breakfasts were the worst tasting and cold breakfasts we have ever been served. My server didn't introduce herself to me as she did to the guests next to me. She told them what the specials were, I didn't get that. The coffee that she splashed on my table was luke-warm. You never know who you're serving so consistency is key. I, too, serve the public by way of food, and I would never serve .y customers luke-warm food. I've been dining at C.B. since the 90's, so I know the texture of their pancakes. I know the difference between fresh off the griddle pancakes and those that have been nuked. Our server Giselle was very soft spoken and all four of us had a hard time hearing a lot of what she was trying to say. My husband and I tried out this location about a month ago and unfortunately I wasn't super satisfied. The staff was kind and friendly and the store part of the business is always so fun to look at. The food however was not my favorite. I have never been a huge fan of Cracker Barrel but wanted to give it a fair shot and try it out again after 8 years. The food was okay but honestly not that great. We did order a decent variety of things to try but overall we were not super satisfied with the value considering what we spent. This was my husband's first time visiting Cracker Barrel and he is a major foodie but also had the same impression of the food. They do have a cute setup though and really play into the theme of the restaurant well. Just not happy with the food. read more

We decided to go to Cracker Barrel in Buckeye for lunch on a Wednesday about 11:30. We were seated right away. We waited for 20 minutes for service before we just gave up and left. Not really that busy. We watched as server after server just pasted us by. No one even asked if we wanted some thing to drink. I handed our menus back to the manager who was at the podium and explained that we had been waiting to order for 20 minutes. Her response, she just took the menus from me and threw them on the podium and never responded. We had hoped that service had improved since we were last here two years ago. Stopped in for a quick bite. Of all the places around not sure why here but here we are. Place was not busy. Got sat quickly - it was dinner time by the way. Server came over. She seemed fine. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Service was terrible- even with so few customers we waited and had to go find our own napkins and such. The food was nasty. Came tonight to this location at 7:45 pm. It closes at 9 pm. It's Thursday special: Turkey & Dressing Dinner. There was no Turkey Dinner. There was no Meatloaf Dinner. There was no Roast Beef Dinner. We left. Didn't eat. Just drank our water. Horrible kitchen and GM management that can't foresee the restaurants needs for it's customers. Can't even order enough food for the restaurant. Service was so good, we had the sweetest waitstaff. They were packed but it didn't affect their timeliness at all. Word to the wise, if you bring your young kids, be aware that to get to the restaurant you have to walk through a giant gift shop and they may be asking for all the toys and candy lol. Visited this Cracker Barrel today at approximately 2:45 pm. The hostess arrived the stand, asked how many (3)... The hostess stated "this way" and proceeded through the minimally occupied seating areas to arrive far in the rear corner. The hostess put menu items on table and walked away. As she walked away, I realized the table, chair and floor had food debris. I immediately headed back to the hostess stand and waited for the hostess to return. When she arrived, I told her the table, chairs and floor were filthy and asked her if there was another table that we could have. With an attitude, She did not say a word, just upsettingly grabbed silverware, menus and walked away. I guess she expected us to follow her... we proceeded to follow her, however, only a few steps into the dinning room she dropped the utensils, napkins and menu's on a table and continued walking (never turned Around, nor said anything to us). I took this to be quite disrespectful and personally disturbing! I then stated; "let's get out of here and go where we are welcome! We departed immediately and will never return! I use to love this place have been going there for many years and no complaints ever. One of my favorite dishes was the chicken pot pie use to be a Wednesday special! Then they changed it what a disappointing so called dinner. I don't mind paying more for dishes things cost more! However when somebody thinks it's a good idea to charge more then skimp on how it is made by not adding the same serving ingredients as before! Needs a reality check ( if it's not broken don't fix it. This mixture was a soupy mess. I found a few good chunks of chicken but nothing else, no potatoes, a few shredded carrots instead of chunks like it used to have and very little peas as you can see all gravy muck don't waste your money on it, a Marie Colanders frozen pot pie has this beat by far( I did not eat it except for the crust.) when you go in if you do notice that the serving plates have gotten smaller the portions have gotten smaller and this is to make it look like you're getting just as much but you are not! the quality of the food has gotten worse. it's a shame for a company that's been around forever to have to take steps like this to make money. I don't think I will ever go back to this place again, after so many years of good service and food. This is a huge disappointment to me. 8/8/2023 Ok here we go again, I have to say that Cracker Barrel contacted me with a phone number to call and repeat, but I had just said on this review. We only paid around $30ish for all of these meals and sides pictured, and STILL had leftovers! I want to go back so bad. There's more on the menu I still need to try. Ahahaha. We can heartily recommend: 1) Maple Bacon Chicken Tenders (these are legit the best tenders I've ever had in my LIFE. SERIOUSLY!!) 2) Battered fish (yum! Had a great breakfast with the family. Customer service is so friendly and outgoing. I appreciate the suggestions since it's my first time ever visiting. I was bummed out the hot chocolate latte machine was broken I ended up with orange juice which was very fresh. The French toast and hash brown casserole was on fire. Then a worker dropped a glass plate and it s started all over fortunately I was done eating it else it be concerning. Cracker Barrel, if you have never been to one, then you are missing out. I get the chicken and dumplings meal with extra dumplings. Just a great meal and will fill... you..... up. They lose 2 stars for me as they are so hit and miss as far as how well you are taken care of. You can go in there and get some pretty good service with a smile and your drinks stay full to this last visit when you never saw the server and when you did she was reaching across 2 people and over everyone to refill a drink, that she seriously could have just walked around to the otherside to fill up. The food can either come out in less than 10 min or take 30 min and the food is the same you ordered last time, at the same restaurant, on the same night. They say consistency creates credibility.... well they are credible for being inconsistent. Met up with my parents for lunch today. They love eating here. They know how much ch the kids love it too, but they were at school today so we were able to have a nice adult family lunch together, laughing it up, like we always do. My dad is known for prancing the servers or just making them crack up, so it was nice seeing him in his element. We are all so silly. Enjoyed my visit here first time that I actually stayed. The first time I was here at this same location they were very rude and never served us we actually got up and left not that anybody noticed because they never came to our table but yet they are serving others. Anyway they redeemed themselves surfer nice very professional Covid update they use mask social distances ask you if you want paper or use your phone for the menu. Food was good and waitress Deirdre was super sweet. Enjoy the surroundings loved all the stuff they have in the walls all the nostalgia use Google to see what some of the stuff was. Christmas is here all year around in the store prices in the store are pretty reasonable outside in the porch they have comfortable rocking chairs paid and purchased those if you want. The food the country gravy was good portion was small the biscuits were amazing hot and fresh right out of the oven first time I had fried apples they were good on the sweet side but I guess you should mix them in with your grits don't care for the texture of the grits. Super disappointed in Cracker Barrel. My son has a tree nut allergy. The manager and staff have always made a small accommodations to cook safely for him. Basically they cook his pancakes on the egg side so it doesn't come into contact with tree nuts on the pancake griddle side. But today and going forward they will no longer try to keep it safe for him. Disappointed. We have been coming here safely for over 10 years. We drive across town Because this location used to care. Must be under new management or they are just not concerned about food allergies. Or maybe they are just plain lazy. Definitely . Service was going down since covid hapenend. Buckeye (West Phoenix), Arizona. I love me Cracker Barrels. Had some terrible and wonderful pleasantries at various CBs throughout the nation. This is a chain/franchise so the servicing will be based on the local staff and the stuff they had to deal with leading up to our visits. I come to this CB often as I leave Phx or enter for football Sunday since the location is strategically convenient. Food - COVID has a limited menu with the general fixings. I only eat breakfast at this spot. The general steak, eggs, hash, and biscuit meals are provided. Steak & Eggs. The cut they use is generic. The beef isn't savory but the price sure is. Biscuits - Warm, buttery amazingly delicious. I love the biscuits~! As mentioned in other reviews, would highly recommend or at least try a biscuit with the apples versus butter or jam. The biscuits have a ton of butter on them already ergo either only jam, gravy or apples are needed. I tried mixing all three or some other dual combo and it didn't go well per my palette. Potatoes/Hash - Unique mash. Not the biggest fan. Service: Great. Staff does their best to keep the coffee mug full or water class ice cold. Host is pleasant with adequate hospitality. You pay in the front so don't expect the wait-staff to take the bill although they will at times. Pricing: Cheap AF for what you get. Majority of breakfasts are around the $10 range with free refills on biscuits depending on package. Parking/Accessibility: Large lot in a mall area. I regularly eat here. I'm so disappointed in the food lately. The rolls are burnt and food isn't up to par. Examples: Chicken is tuff, chicken included with the fish, meatloaf dry and burnt. Hoping this gets corrected soon. read more
