First thing, remove the individual responsible for removing real fried chicken from the week day menu. I'm guessing it's the same genius who f'd around with the corporate logo; am I right? I'll never come back until they fix both problems. They used to serve their side dishes in little bowls, well not anymore. My chicken was soaked by the juice from my green beans,as was my mac and cheese. Another reason for the one star review. Due to working schedules and family illness we've not been able to drive all the way to Camarillo to eat at the nearest Cracker Barrel. Imagine my dismay at not being told until the food came that no real fried chicken was available weekdays. Way to go CB! Oh, and the mens room smells bad, no hot water or soap either, hopefully the male employees have another place to wash up. Too many corners cut for this reviewer to ignore, get your act together Cracker Barrel.

This was my first time visiting Cracker Barrel. Upon entering, I noticed that they had a small gift shop attached to the restaurant. The restaurant itself was very spacious, with plenty of tables available for dining in. It offers classic Southern-style comfort food and a nostalgic atmosphere. I browsed through the gift shop while I waited for my table to be ready. For a small shop, they had a wide variety of snacks and other goodies to choose from. I even found snacks and drinks that I've never seen before! For my meal, I went with the chicken tenders combo. I ordered the 6-piece Nashville tenders meal and chose mac and cheese and steak fries as my sides. The Nashville sauce came on the side, which I thought was a nice touch because I was able to control how much sauce I poured onto the tenders myself. The mac and cheese wasn't memorable, but it wasn't bad either. I just wish it had been a bit more flavorful. The steak fries were seasoned with garlic and salt and were cooked perfectly. They paired well with my tenders. The chicken tenders themselves were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. They were also very well seasoned. The Nashville sauce was not one of my favorites, though. It had a smoky, mildly spicy, but also sweet taste. I prefer Nashville sauces that are smoky and spicy, but not sweet. Let's talk about the service. My server was sweet and had great knowledge of the menu, but she wasn't as attentive as I had hoped. I had to flag her down a few times to get her attention. Overall, this restaurant offers a family-friendly atmosphere, comfort food classics, decent service, and a pretty cool gift shop. I'll definitely be coming back again! Polite and prompt service. Ambiance is great with a western saloon look and fireplace going. Cute li'l gift shop as you enter. Lots of cute fun Knick knacks. Tried the grilled chicken breast with 3 sides, baked potato and Fried Apple and fried Okra. Fried Apple with cinnamon taste so delicious like the apple pie filling. And fried okra fritters were tasty too! We picked corn bread/biscuits. Boy that corn bread/ biscuits are goooood. Cracker Barrel knows what they are doing with those biscuits. Will definitely recommend this place and go back for those sides and corn bread/ biscuits.

My family and I had been walking around the outlets for several hours, and by the time 3 p.m. rolled around, we were all starving. Since I had never been to Cracker Barrel before, we decided to stop by and give it a try. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by shelves of merchandise since the entrance leads straight into their gift shop. There were lots of little knickknacks and nostalgic items. We did not end up buying anything, especially since we had already finished most of our holiday shopping, but next time we might browse more when we are not so tired. We were then welcomed by a friendly hostess and promptly seated. I absolutely loved the dining area decor. The walls were covered with old-timey relics like antique telephones, glass bottles, spades, and more. With so many restaurants moving toward a modern look, I really appreciated how themed and cozy this place felt. For food, we ordered the Hashbrown Shepherd's Pie and the six-piece chicken tenders with two sides. The shepherd's pie was flavorful and packed with tender beef, carrots, and celery. I especially enjoyed soaking the biscuits in the sauce. The chicken tenders were also good, with a lighter breading rather than a thick, crunchy coating, which is my preference. Overall, I really enjoyed our late lunch and would definitely come back again. If I had to point out a few cons, the service was a bit slow despite the restaurant not being very crowded, the cornbread tasted more like a muffin with only a subtle corn flavor, and the bathroom could have used better organization and cleaning, as it was fairly dirty during our visit.

Had the old timers breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning in Camarillo. What a cool place. The host was very friendly and professional as was the server. The coffee was good and food hot and tasty. A beautiful day and nice way to start it off at Cracker Barrel. Recommended

We had such a pleasant experience at this Cracker Barrel. There aren't many locations nearby so we were very excited to stop by after shopping at the outlets. We were seated quickly, and every single staff member was so kind from the host to the gift shop register, and our server Amber was phenomenal! She was so helpful and attentive and made sure we had a great meal. We got the chicken tenders, meatloaf, and fried chicken breast, all were great but my favorite were the tenders. But the biscuits...if you've been to Cracker Barrel you know the biscuits are to die for. We got the beignets for dessert and they were amazing, melt-in-your mouth delicious. The gift store connected was super cute too with so many fun knick knacks. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area!

    Cinnamon Apple Shrimp!!
    Cat R.

I ordered the cinnamon apples for myself family to share. They were pretty mushy but that wasn't so bad. What was bad is that I took a bite and it was a breaded shrimp, not an apple!!! I flagged my waitress and showed her what was in my desert and her response was to bring me a new one. I told her no and immediately asked for the check. My son has a shellfish allergy so had he tried the apples before me, we could have been in a bad situation! She came back and said the manager was going to comp the side of apples for me. The entire experience was not great. My kids ordered chicken tender to share and they both said they were too dry and hard to eat. The ambiance was typical for a Cracker Barrel, general western theme. Nothing special. But because of the horrible taste in my mouth (literally), I will not be going back here.

In every state they have their location in, the layout is the exactly the same. New Jersey to Tennessee (HQ), Missouri, Arizona, Santa Maria (permanently closed). It reminds me of a great time with family and friends driving state to state and stopping by this place to feel at home for all parties. I love how you can get some comfort food in California that isn't too far away if you're lazy to cook. And they have a take home meal that's $6 after ordering my meal as well. I'm always looking forward to their dumplings, Mac and cheese, green beans and whatever cute iced coffee drink style they have seasonally. They have a new CEO now so there's no bar here anymore. You can also order holiday catered meals like holiday ham or turkey for large parties starting at $150 as well. Thanks for having Cracker Barrel in California.

    Biscuit Beignets
    Ann T.

Located in premium outlets, we decided to give the southern favorite a try. I wasn't very hungry and decided to share with the Hubbs. We ordered the meatloaf & chicken and dumplings plate which came with two sides and a biscuit. For our sides, we chose the fried okra which was crunchy fun food and not slimy at all and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The hubs liked the meatloaf, but I wasn't so impressed. The chicken and dumplings seemed like large noodles in a white gravy with chunks of white chicken that is on the dry side. It didn't taste bad, but it sure looked clumpy. I liked the biscuit and fried okra the best. My friend ordered the blackened chicken, which was also very tasty. For dessert, we ordered their biscuit beignets which is more of a soft donut covered in cinnamon, sugar, powdered sugar, and a pecan syrup dipping sauce. They were very sweet and very good but then when is fried sweet bread, not good? They also have a store where we loaded up on old-fashioned candy. They have an add on Takeaway meal for $6.99 which is a great deal however we're traveling so we didn't order one.

Did the whole Xmas shopping in the first Friday in December and it was empty! The shops and this Cracker Barrel, immediately found a table by fireplace and had a wonderful first experience. Service quick and easy and food hot and ready in a short wait. Did a breakfast loaded hash casserole and a chicken fried chicken which was fantastic with the white gravy. Great value and will come back!

Funny that living here for many years I never tried this place before. I really had a fun time. Great classic old school American food..One of the best biscuits I ever had. Great burger and mega friendly service. Literally sounds like walking back in time.

From the moment you walk in, that amazing smell hits you like no other! Marcus, the owner, treated us like you're a regular, even on our first visit. Marcus was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the menu. And the food? Absolutely next level. Marcus gave us samples of the chicken gumbo and from the moment it touched my tongue, I was sold. I got a 32 ounce Gumbo and let me tell you, it was plenty. Everything was perfectly seasoned and packed full with some much pride and flavor. You could tell Marcus and his wife are passionate about their business and the product they're putting out. In addition to the chicken gumbo, I got the cornbread with the honey butter. Let me tell you something, I must've died and went to heaven. One of my friends' grandmothers made corn bread back in the day and this made me think of those times. The cornbread wasn't dry and the honey butter just amplified it to the next level. Fried Chicken - 4 Star - I got two pieces. I am pretty sure they were deboned thighs. Seasoned and fried well with juicy meat and flavor in every bite. The fried batter texture is unique, very light and airy almost tempura-ish, but still crunchy, seasoned, and it highlighted the chicken rather then overpowering it. Shrimp Poboy - 4.5 Star - Absolutely nailed the shrimp on this one. Large, plump, seasoned and sauced exactly right letting that sweet shrimp meat really shine. The Cajun/Jerk Seasoning was great and the cabbage slaw took nothing away from it. The roll was thick so it held up very well, but it needed a bit more moisture to be perfect.

The lack of communication and basic customer service was frustrating and unprofessional. It wasn't about the timing it was about how it was handled. Standing there with no acknowledgment and then being turned away last minute is just bad service. Definitely not the experience we expected.

My wife had the cream of mushroom and I had the pazole. Both were excellent. We also ordered the same dish which was the avocado chicken sandwich. The service, food and ambiance were perfect. Highly recommended.

Mother's Day Was Ruined. And I Need the Owner to Know…read more Let me tell you something. I've worked in five-diamond restaurants. I've worked Applebee's got the pin to prove it. Fried chicken spots. Everything in between. So when I tell you what happened here, know that I'm not some customer who doesn't understand how restaurants work. I know exactly how they work. My best friend lives in Camarillo and honey, he has been raving about this place for months. Every time someone comes to visit, he brings them here. He made our Mother's Day reservations well in advance. Our party of six. This man has easily dropped thousands of dollars in this restaurant. He loves this place. Loved. We arrived early. Server was ok. Seated us at 11, full house, two-hour window we understood the assignment. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Everything came out hot and fast. We're laughing, talking, having the best time and then I look down at my plate. There is a bug. Crawling. Through my eggs. My son grabbed his phone and got the picture. My husband God bless him, shot up to find a manager because that's what you do. That's what any reasonable person does. He found her. Her name is Cheryl. And Cheryl said... "You should've taken it up with the server." Strike one. Then she walks over to our table with an attitude and before I can even hand her my plate, she looks at me and says, "How do you want your eggs?" Like I'm supposed to take the same food back. The food with the bug in it. I was stunned. Not just by the question by the energy. It was off putting. She was annoyed. Like somehow WE were the problem. My kids were horrified. My best friend, the man who loves this restaurant was completely embarrassed. I asked to look at the menu. I wanted something different. Reasonable, right? We waited. The server came back, completely in the dark, said something like "I guess something was wrong with your food?" Sweet kid. Felt terrible when we filled him in. I said I'd just take a burger. He said of course they'd remove the chicken and waffles. THEN he came back. "We're going to have to charge you for the burger." WTH, I thought he had lost his entire mind. He disappeared again, came back, apologized I believe he genuinely felt bad. This has happened before when I have been a server and a manager is more than happy to offer you another dish and take off the other one. But Cheryl? The manager? Never came back. NOT once. Instead, she made her rounds to every single table AROUND us. Laughing. Greeting people. Interacting with guests. For 15 to 20 minutes, we sat there and watched her deliberately avoid our table. And that's when it hit me the thing I didn't want to think. I looked around. Really looked around. And we were the only ones. WELL, I was the only one who was African American woman. Me and my kids. My bestie and my hubby are of European descent. I don't SAY that lightly. Honestly? It makes me sick to even say it. But I couldn't find another explanation. Neither could my friend, who sat straight up in his chair and saw it too up close and personal. He was angry. I had to calm everyone down and say this wasn't worth it. I canceled the burger. We left. It was the worst Mother's Day I have ever had in my life. I have never been treated like this before. It's 2026. People have diverse families. What happened?! To the owner -- I'm hoping you're not her, and I'm hoping you read this. Your friend lost a loyal customer who brought everyone he knew through your doors. You lost our table, our money, and our trust the moment Cheryl decided we didn't matter. The moment she decided that she couldn't be bothered. I travel all around the world speaking, training and I have never been treated to poorly. I called hoping to speak to the OWNER. Cheryl called me back. Are you for real? She HAD a chance to make it right. But clearly she didn't care. She had every opportunity to make it right. She chose not to.
