Stopped in for dinner and had a good visit. We have eaten at many Cracker Barrel's across the country and they are pretty standard. I had the chicken fingers with some honey mustard and the new Nashville hot sauce with a side of dumplings. The Nashville hot was good with just the right amount of kick. Four stars because our waitress was overly obviously unkind to my my mom. I got the biscuit Benedict and it was really good. My daughter got the berry waffles and my grandson's split the pancakes and bacon. My mom got the steak bowl. Cannot complain about the food, however, we were in town visiting family and the waitress seemed to take an immediate dislike to my mom. Everyone else at the table was catered to but my mom was 100 percent ignored, whether it was asking for a coffee refill or asking for her toast that wasn't delivered with her food. Had that not happened with my mother, who lives with n a totally different state, so it couldn't have been personal, I'd have given 5 stars. But the Benedict was perfect and the peach tea was beautiful. Both my daughter and her boys cleared their plates, which is almost unheard of for any of them. read more

We visited for our annual Black Friday breakfast at Cracker Barrel. As we were shown to our table, we were advised the menu was very limited. They were correct. Few breakfast options to choose from. I struggled to understand why beer and wine choices were on the breakfast menu. These choices took almost as much space as the breakfast options. Prices were considerably higher since our last visit. We were advised that the biscuits offered with the limited breakfast options, may be delayed. We were told it might be better if we replaced the biscuits with toast. We said no thanks! 20 minutes later biscuits arrived. Not impressed at all with the rebranding and menu changes. The conclusion of the four at our table was this would be our last visit to Cracker Barrel. Rather sad this institution has declined this much. read more

Awful experience! Get there and submit my kids meal (burger & fries) order cause my 2 year old was hungry I noticed the man who came in after us and order after us got his FRIED CHICKEN before my kids food came out. After a waitress came to get my order where she let me know my waitress had a emergency and had to leave this waitress proceeded to ask my kids order which let me know it haven't been submitted at this point. So now I have a new waitress for all of 5 mins before her shift ends. So finally our food comes out and lo and behold the waitress who had the emergency and left is who brought our food out. When it came out I was missing one of my sides and cornbread. My gf didn't get offered cornbread or biscuits WHICH COMES W ALL MEALS so she didn't get any! The food was excellent! Service was great, it was a little loud, but with a store being attached to the restraunt, it was understandable. For one of the first times, I actually got full on a meal. Our server's name was Nathan, he did a really good job. Definitely will come back one day. read more

Could it get any worse... What a mess, from the food to the service. Not only did our order come out in 2 separate parts, but they came out 20 min apart. One side of our table could have eaten their entire meal before the other even got theirs. We ordered biscuits, but sat for 10 min before we finally got any butter. Sausage tasted like soap too. THE KICKER: Mold in our drinks... At first we thought it was just one, and slowly but surely at least 3 of the 7 of us had it in our drink. This is beyond unacceptable. My husband and I were traveling really early this morning from Lake City Florida headed home. We left the hotel about 4:45am. We started looking for a Cracker Barrel around 7am as we were approaching Tallahassee exit. This Cracker Barrel didn't open for 15 minutes when we got there it was 6:45. I decided to get out of the truck and sit in a rocking chair on the porch. I never get to do that as we are always in a hurry. When I sat down looking back at the parking lot...I noticed all 5 garbage cans on the porch area were full and overflowing. There was food scattered in the parking space in front of me. It was obvious this was all left over from the previous day. My husband walked up and I told him... I'm sitting here looking at these full trash cans and he immediately said "let's go we aren't staying here to eat". The outside appearance says ALOT about what the inside might be. I looked up the reviews on that restaurant and sure enough!!' They were not good reviews. Be proud that your restaurant (Dothan) is clean! People notice!! keep up the good work. read more

This is the second time we have come in 3 months and l can say they continue to make menu changes which move further and further away from what has made them one of America's favorite breakfast places. The food is often cold after waiting an extraordinary amount of time for your order to arrive. You get one cup of coffee and in spite of placing the empty cup at the tables edge signifying you would like a refill, it never gets noticed! The waitress serves the food often missing items when in reality they should have caught the disparity before the order ever left the kitchen. Their store in the front end of the business is full of overpriced, cheap Chinese stuff that is nice to look at but better left in place and not purchased. The bacon is really good with a hint of hickory but somewhat under cooked. The cheesy potatoes were not so cheesy. There are no omelets anymore and when our check finally arrived it had OJ on it which was not ordered at a cost of $3.29 + tax. Never got a coffee refill from a waitress with 4-stars on her apron. This is a very, very busy Cracker Barrel because of its location. Even though it was busy, we only had a 10 minute wait. It took longer to pay than to wait for a table. Okay, we all know that 99% of Cracker Barrel's are identical in the food and usually in the service department. Which is decent at best. Well, I found the exception. This cracked barrel is hit or miss. The service is sometimes good and other times is bad. The food is the same way. It's either really good or ehhh. Sometimes there is an in between with the food. Many times I have had to get up and wait by the kitchen door to ask for something because the waiter wouldn't show up again. This is a pretty standard Cracker Barrel. The food is what you would expect which is fine, the service was pleasant and good (prompt with the food etc). My big beef was with their policy on the disposable cups. My kids ordered milk which came in a carton, I brought my own straws so they could drink out of the carton, however the waitress places the plastic cups down and I decline them but they still have to throw them away creating unnecessary waste because they were placed on the table. She was there the whole time their bottom touched my table for all of 5 seconds. I can understand if she had left and not been able to confirm that they had not been touched etc. I don't fault her for this, it's the restaurant policy. It's a dumb policy. If they are going to roll that way they should at least ask if you want the plastic cups/ straws etc. read more

I ate here a few weeks ago ordering the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. I did get my food quickly and I think that was part of the problem with the food. When I started eating the meat loaf I found it was room temperature. It actually tasted good so I didn't worry about it. It became colder as I dug into the middle as if it had not been heated at all. I had eaten about half the dish when I decided to try the mashed potatoes. They were very cold as if they had not been heated in any way. I told my waitress. She apologized and suddenly the manager was at my table. While he was friendly enough the way the conversation started struck me as he was already on the defensive. It was something in his body language and tone that made me feel uncomfortable. I explained the problem and he apologized and told me the steam table must not be working. He made sure a fresh plate of food was replaced. When I told him that is all I wanted was fresh food his attitude changed. He relaxed and seemed more genuine. I had the feeling he thought I was going to try and push for a free meal. I was only looking for what I ordered.. nothing more. My waitress took my drink off my check though I insisted there was no reason to do that as a fresh plate of food was brought in place of the other. When I left the waitress brought out a free desert to go and apologized again. Because of her caring nature I'm leaving this a four star. The food was very good. I saw a quick review someone else left and they were also complaining their food was served cold. I've never had that problem at a cracker barrel in the past.
