Friendly enough until we asked about waiting too long for order and then had to let him know half of our order didn't get to the table. Ordered two eggs over medium, bacon and toast. Preset cam with one slice of bacon. Whoever receives one slice of bacon? When questioned he answered " well how how many did you want"? Wife ordered catfish with tarter sauce and greens with pepper sauce. When asked to bring it he gave her a hard time and argued with her. He said "I told you I had a table to clear, I'll get it when I can". Very argumentative. Friend ordered hamburger steak with gravy. Guess what!!! No gravy. I ate there today and ordered a breakfast with 3 eggs sausage patties and bacon as well as toast. I also ordered the hash brown casserole as well when I saw how small the eggs were. Toast was just warm bread. Sent it back to get toasted. The bacon and sausage looked like it had been sitting around already cooked for hours. Hash brown thing was awful. Yes I adore all the rocking chairs of various sizes outside. I love browsing through the items in their store. End up buying a pair of sandals for the baby and 2 toys for the toddler. We used to come here all the time and had great experiences. Not sure if they got new management or what, but we came in with a party of 8. We were told it would be 15-20 minutes. 45 minutes later, no table and no update. We went to ask and they said, once again, 15-20 minutes. Every single 2- and 3-person party got seated shortly after they came in. Another member of our group approached the hostess and asked nicely if it was possible to push a few tables together, as we'd waited long over what we had been told. The hostess gave them a very unkind look. Come to find out, a group of 7 came in just before us and was told the same thing, then approached the hostess stand shortly after us and was also told 15-20 minutes again. So we'd have had to wait for them to be seated anyways. As we left, we saw 2 empty 4-tops right next to each other through the window. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I've worked in food service and we put tables together daily for large parties. Very unprofessional; I would not recommend them especially if you have a big party. read more

It was a toss up between Cracker Barrel and Finleys. We hadn't stopped in here since breakfast time late last year, the visit was overdue. Sundays require a wait time of about 15 to 20 minutes because everyone wants to enjoy one of the best. I ordered the haddock with Mac n cheese,okra and small salad . The Mrs. had the sirloin steak with seasonal veggies, okra and small salad. Wife's beverage was raspberry lemonade, her favorite here. Had the most wonderful waitress; thank-you Rozlyn. We waited for 45 minutes for a to go dinner. The dinner had been at the register for a little while but the failed to call our name like they said they would. Cashier was rude and didnt even attempt any sort of apology for making us wait longer than we had to. I will probably not go back. Staff needs to learn good mannerisms. I really, really like the caps they have, though. I could see buying one as a special gift for a loved and admired friend or relative. They have baseball caps with sports, veteran and service member themes and they appear to be of very high quality. They have lots of homey things that look homemade with little mottoes, prayers or inspirational messages on them. Everything very tasteful. On to the restaurant. The decor is homey and nostalgic. My waitress was an older woman but very cute and nice. Our food appeared so quickly it was almost like magic. Everything was perfect except they missed the lemon our friend ordered with her glass of water. My wife and I both had coffee and it was very good black. My wife and I both had Uncle Herschel's Favorite Breakfast with grilled catfish. The catfish was delicious, the eggs were perfect and the biscuits I almost stuffed in my pockets. Went to dinner with my family of four, was seated appropriately at a table top for 4. Salads were brought out, and shortly after meal was delivered. Waitress Theresa was unfriendly, hesitated when placing dinner plates on table and never removed empty glasses nor salad plates. We had to eat dinner with limited space and with dirty dishes on our small table. She never asked if the children wanted a dessert or additional refills and we had to go to register to get our bill. We had great service. I came for breakfast with my husband and father. We all order the Country Boy Breakfast with sirloin steaks. My steak looked like a scrap piece! Misshappen and very thick at one end. When I cut into it, there was a big slice of tough silverskin. I pointed this out to the waiter who immediately took care of it. He ordered me a new steak. While waiting the manager came over and said we wouldn't be charged for my meal. The replacement steak was one of the best I ever had; perfectly cooked. We go to Cracker Barrel quite often. They serve my favorite meal in town, which is their grilled chicken strips. I get them with corn, and either mashed potatoes, or a baked potato. The food is perfect every time. Sometimes they skimp on portions, but the quality is always there. Breakfast is always good, as is the sugar cured ham. They have great salads, and ice cream also. I stopped in here after a long day sitting with a family member who was in the hospital to get a quick bite before returning to my hotel to go to bed. I was exhausted and when I walked in there were people everywhere and I was convinced there would be a long wait. But I was seated quickly and the waitress took one look at me and said I looked like I could use a nice cold drink.
