Overall, the experience was totally satisfactory, though it came with a few minor hiccups. Walking in, the menu is exactly how I remember it being from my last visit years ago, though like everything else these days, the prices are a tad more expensive. I opted for the Country Boy Breakfast, which comes with sirloin tips, biscuits, gravy, and my choice of sides. I went with the dumplings and the hashbrown casserole. The flavors themselves hit the spot and tasted exactly as I remembered from previous trips. The hashbrown casserole and biscuits were solid comfort food. However, the steak tip portion was a bit of a letdown. My wife ordered the steak and eggs, and her portion of steak was easily double to triple the size of mine. It felt a little mismatched considering both are hearty breakfast plates. We also ran into some standard Sunday crowd service hiccups. Our server fumbled our drink order right out of the gate and wasn't very attentive when it came to checking back for refills. At the end of the day, it is perfectly serviceable if you want a massive, nostalgic country breakfast. But if we did not have that leftover gift card balance to use up, it would probably be a few more years before we felt the need to return. read more

If only I could give 0 star. Waitress refused to give me my bill. She kept ignoring me for over an hour. Even though I asked and was standing and waiting . I had to ask the front to help get my bill because I was running late for an appointment . When I did receive, It was the wrong bill!!! I refused to pay for someone's expensive meal!!! We decided to stop here for breakfast. This was my first visit to Cracker Barrel. The main entrance enters into the retail store. We were seated immediately in the main dining area. The decor was very interesting, old photos, instruments, a deer head, even a gun. We placed our order with the waitress. For anyone that knows me, they all understand that I have serious love for Cracker Barrel! I beyond excited to dine at Cracker Barrel while passing through on our way to NY. With that being said, I walked in feeling elated and left feeling dejected. Let's start with the positives! Cracker Barrel is one of those country chain restaurants that is known for its cute country decor inside and out. The exterior has the wood panels and anorak chairs on the porch. Walk inside and you'll see the cutest country store in town! They have some kitchen accessories, toys, Americana decor, clothes, and candy/beverages for the road. When we walked inside, there were 2 ladies working at the cash register. They assisted people as they paid for their meals and souvenirs, but they never signaled for a hostess to help the rest of us. We all stood around at the hostess' booth for about 10 minutes. No one came to assist us. The lady behind me walked into the dining room and let them know that she had a line of people waiting to be seated. They had cleaned off tables, but we were still standing around trying to figure out what was going on. Finally, they seated us and we were already frustrated. But that was done and over with. It was time to order our food! I ordered the fried shrimp meal with a side of mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. The meal already came with biscuits, so I was happy. Their biscuits are usually pretty good, so I was ready to eat! The biscuits didn't taste the same. They were super dry and they didn't have the same taste or texture that they've had in the past. I am convinced that those country fried shrimp pieces were cooked in the same coating that they use for chicken. It was super bland! The mashed potatoes didn't taste as fresh as they usually do. The meal was nowhere near what we've had in the past. Keep in mind that I LOVE Cracker Barrel and we've been to multiple locators across the US. So, this was nowhere near what we're used to when we dine at their restaurants. Also, when I got up to wash my hands in the restroom, there was another line of people waiting to be seated. One gentleman said that he'd been waiting so long. If they didn't acknowledge them and attempt to seat them that they were leaving. There were plenty of empty tables that were cleaned off when I went back into the dining room. Yet again, the hostess was nowhere to be found. For what it's worth, the decor gives the feel of a true Cracker Barrel restaurant. The service is incredibly slow and for the record, it wasn't even busy. The food was bland and service was slow. It didn't seem like the place was understaffed, so I really don't know what the problem was. Nevertheless, I'm going to have to agreed with other Yelpers. They really could do better and they have a lot of work to do to keep their customers happy! read more

I arrived Tuesday evening around 6:30 and had no trouble finding a seat. The restaurant was 1/3 full and seemed well maintained. The tables were cleared in a timely manner and the floors were swept. I ordered the southern fried chicken with fried apples and okra, hash brown casserole tots, and a peach tea. The peach tea was sweet, with a candy-peach artificial taste, but still refreshing. The tots were slightly crispy, I wish they were crispier. This was served with thick cut bacon bits that had a nice smoky flavor. The whole dish quickly left an old-oily taste in my mouth though. The biggest offender had to be the southern fried chicken. I've had better chicken at Popeyes. The pieces were small, barely crispy, and very dry. Hardly any seasoning at all. This remains my favorite place for family breakfast. They have really good lunch and dinner too, but in my head Cracker Barrel means breakfast. If there was one criticism that could be improved, it's that the tables here wobble horribly. At table I'm currently sitting, you can see a 1 inch gap between the foot of the table and the floor. That's enough to splash drinks around and annoy customers during the entire meal. I can see another table leg that has literally a half inch of napkins wedged under one of the seat. Stop letting a few of your workers ruin your rep! I have frequented Craker Barrel for over 25 years. The one in Linthicum regularly, and a whole lot of other ones when traveling. This location my wife and I always enjoyed. Greeted nicely when going to the front to get seated, until the time we left and paid for our food and the extra things we picked up. This week's visit during lunch seemed like we were getting punked! The guy that waited on us told us to follow him, it was just my wife and I. He walked ahead if us so we had to walk with a fast pace to keep up. He got to the table before us, set the menu's down and started to leave. I said excuse me to get his attention, and asked could we move to one of the wall tables (1 was about 2 tables away). He looked at me and didn't say a word, grabbed the menu's and tossed them on the next table. I said thank you and he didn't respond. My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief, and she proceeded to go catch him and tell him to his face how rude he was to us. He apologized to her and didn't come over to me and apologize. He was probably saying it to get her to go sit down. After that encounter, the service was great. Everyone we talked to was as nice to us as we were to them. We even tipped our waitress 30% because of her kindness. This guy obviously was either having a bad day, or that's just his character. I hope it was just a bad day, because if this is how he acts all the time, then this guy is representing your company in the way you would not life. If he worked for my company, I would have let him go before he tarnished my companies reputation. Don't let one negative person spoil everything else that's good. read more

Decided to stop by for a quick dinner one evening. We went on a Thursday around 7pm and were seated right away. This place is extremely inconsistent. I used to have a great experience with them, and the food is normally good, but today was a mess. I ordered from DoorDash and they totally mixed up my order. Then I ordered again so I could pick it up myself to ensure I had the right order, and when I got home, the chicken that is usually warm and juicy was cold, hard and extremely dry, like they used old food. Cracker Barrel is a go-to for brunch time. This is the only Cracker Barrel in the area, so it's usually packed, but the wait isn't 2 hours long. The longest time I've had to wait may have been 50 minutes, but if you're with a fun group, you can shop around the store or even walk around the area, and the wait goes by faster. We have had some instances where the service was bad, but usually the server is friendly and on top of it. Table tops are usually clean, but your plates and utensils may have some residue. Nothing a simple ask of new utensils can't remedy. Now, the food. Is it healthy? oh no. is it delicious? yes. Unless you're ordering a salad (do they even offer salads?), your meal will have buttery carbs with a side of warm cheesy carbs and deliciously salted meats. We usually order a platter that comes with pancakes, eggs, sides and a meat. Can't go wrong with pancakes here as they have a crispy edge, unless the cook is having an off day. read more

I drove 30 minutes and walked in and paid 49.27 and was advised it would be a few minutes. I was told at least three times 10 more minutes. I finally asked for a refund and nobody to include the manager gave me any kind of explanation to why my food wasn't ready 40 minutes later. At least if they gave me an understanding of what was going on that would have been fair but from the cashier to the manager no explanation was given. I often order the chicken and dumplings family meal and normally I my wait a few minutes for my food but they always explain why its taking so long but this time I seemed more of a bother than a customer. We had a new experience at the Cracker Barrel store near the Thurgood Marshall Baltimore/Washington Airport. We were able to reserve a spot online (25 minutes) prior to our arrival. The restaurant was packed on a Sunday afternoon, but we waited maybe 10 minutes, and we were seated shortly thereafter. Our server Kaijayah was outstanding. She was sweet, knowledgeable about the menu and even suggested the Cinnamon Roll pie to my husband, he loved it. She checked on us periodically throughout our meal and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our breakfast. The food was amazing, fresh and hot.
