great food, love the nostalgia in the store, and the comfort food, definitely a great family restaurant

Been a decade since last Cracker Barrel visit, could be another decade. So plain bland food, average age of diner's 75 plus Love it I guess. Maybe the new CEO can turn this chain around, if not they going outta business. She had a three pick plate, Chicken Strips, Meatloaf with Chicken n Dumplings. With Pinto Beans and Cornbread Muffins. I had the breakfast Burger, would have been great if cool made it medium as requested. Great Bacon topped the Burger was just good. Had new stuffed Tater Tots, the very best thing was the Cornbread Muffins yummy . Chicken and Dumplings so very sad. Great service from Jade, she rock's. It's Cracker Barrel..... if you don't love it, it's you, not them! I can't say enough about it. Great food, not always great for you, at a reasonable price. Anyone on the highways will always pass a Cracker Barrel. If you've never stopped in, give it a go. If you have, then you already know what I mean. I have two "go-to" menu items that I go for one or the other. Momma's French Toast Breakfast or Momma's Pancake Breakfast. I always get a side of their sausage patties because they are phenomenal on their own or, if you're like me, they go great with Cracker Barrel Maple Syrup. The French Toast is light and plentiful. It doesn't have cinnamon which isn't a problem for me, but some people just don't like cinnamon. Although I'll never understand those people, they have a right to their own personal tastes. Butter and Maple Syrup complete the meal beautifully. Cracker Barrel Pancakes are their own. The recipe is good but it's the preparation that is the key. I suspect that they are made on the griddle with a lot of butter. The outside of the cakes are almost fried-like with a little bit of crunch to them. Like the French Toast, the Pancakes paired with generous amounts of Butter and Maple Syrup make these an absolute dream. Cracker Barrel serves Breakfast all day long. They do have Lunch/Dinner items as well, but I've only had a few other things. I can say that their Fried Chicken is also outstanding. They've also got a lot of great sides to choose from. And, if you like, they also have a selection of alcoholic beverages to choose from. I can't list them because I've never ordered any. Given that I'm usually on the road when I stop in, and I'm typically eating a breakfast item, alcohol doesn't mix well with either driving or breakfast. The service is pretty much the same at every Cracker Barrel. Fast and friendly. They have a system down for what they're doing and it seems very consistent from location to location. And then there is the Country Store. If you have a long wait for a table, you'll be able to amuse yourself and kill time by going through the Country Store. You'll find everything from classic candy and toys that you didn't think existed anymore, to clothes, John Deere merch, food, holiday gifts and much more. Would I go back? After going on about it for the last 5 minutes, I want to go back now! Cracker Barrel is great for a quick stop while on the road when you simply don't want fast food garbage or it's great for a family/friend get together. No matter your tastes or eating habits, they will have something for everyone. read more

The ambience is always good and a great place to take kids. If you want to have a quiet lunch/dinner don't go to CB. But then again, it isn't designed for that. I ordered a new menu item. Hashbrown shepherds pie. Don't get it unless you want big hunking meats and large pieces of carrots. There was barely any gravy and hashbrowns were more than a little well done. My husband had the smallest piece of meatloaf available (probably the "end" of the loaf. But the grandkids were happy. I ordered though door dash. At 6:10pm it said Cracker Barrel confirmed and started preparing the food. Hour later o called to find out what was going on. They said they never received the order. so I told him that something happened on their end because they made confirmation of the order and said they were preparing the food. So she told me that I had to go in and cancel through DoorDash and request a refund. I did that and reordered it. This time it was picked up in 20 minutes. Got onto it and they forgot the gravy on the side. They also forgot the cup of chicken noodle soup that I paid extra for. My meatloaf was small and old/ dried out. Carrots were hard. 3rd time with them forgetting something or poor quality. It's a shame I used to love Cracker Barrel not anymore. read more

The food was really tasty! I got the shrimp with fries and let me tell you it was very good! I also got a free hushpuppie which was surprising! The service was fast and I have no complaints! There wasn't a lot of people in there so there wasn't a lot of noise definitely one of my favorite brunch places to go! read more

I have been a fan of Cracker Barrel since I was a child. I will always remember ordering the "Uncle Hershel's Breakfast" during a family vacation as we drove to Florida. I think I was 10 or 11 years old at the time, and I could not imagine the look on my face when the server put down 3 or 4 plates of food in front of me! I also enjoy the ambiance of Cracker Barrel - country eclectic. The old fashion candies, to the vintage items on the walls or hanging from the ceiling, to clothing and home goods - just a plethora of items to browse and take in. We also like going through the shop for seasonal items. Service is usually good even on those days when the restaurant is packed. Food selection is good, and prices are very reasonable. Bonus - you can get breakfast any time of day! Their pancakes are a fave of ours - with the flavor and slightly crisp edges = yum. read more

The food seemed to be less quality. Service was ok at best. We never got drink refills. Or a dessert menu.

They used to have a breakfast casserole that was amazing! Unfortunately, they had to be prepared the night before and baked in morning. That's probably why it was removed from menu. It sold out every day. It was the breakfast item they offered. Now, I just go for the chicken and dumplings, lately though, the pieces of chicken have been getting less & less. Bummer. read more

Food ok. But...it's the best gift shop we have in Monroe. No Hallmark. Some gift shop area at Meijer and Walmart. Nothing filled with cute things and memories. Nothing to get excited about collecting or adding to a celebration. Dollar Tree does balloons, gift bags and cards. But there is Cracker Barrel, the closest thing to Frankenmuth Monroe has to offer. Seasonal themes...gnomes are big, as are flamingos and horses. Lots of rural decoration themes...pigs, sunflowers, milk cans. Rival colleges in season(Go Blue!) And baseball and football and cornhole and pickleball; country music and classic rock. Inspirational sayings vie with saucy ones on t-shirts and travel mugs. John Deere in now manufactured in Mexico. SO, forget them. Patriotic themes and trucks. The 4H is welcome. Pretty dolls and good mommie dresses are in the side wall. Things get in early and sell through quick. Christmas will be clearancing by Thanksgiving. But if you love it and really want it, check online. read more

We were there at 02:00PM on a Saturday, and were seated right away. Server took a while to get there, took our drink orders, served our drinks and took our orders. There were only 4 of us we all ordered breakfast. Well it took over an hour and a half to get our food!!!!!!!! No sorry kitchen is behind, sorry for the wait, nothing!!! Once we got our food finally, the sausage and the ham were way overdone, pancakes, bacon, hashbrowns and eggs were okay. The worst part of the whole experience was we were headed to Shipshawana in Monroe, but by the time were done it was to late go. It closed at 5:00 and we wouldn't have gotten there until 4:45 thanks to Cracker Barrel. It was my first time there and my last. BTW the resturant was over half empty. read more

We were seated quickly by a friendly hostess. The menu has changed quite a bit. Hash browns are not on the menu but you can pay extra for them anyway. The hb casserole is what is served now. Server acknowledged toast was burned and blamed it on the walmart toaster. Manager made a modification to the bill, but we just wanted correctly prepared food, not a discount. read more

our server was amazing, she was in training and was doing a great job. the ambiance was very old. very quiet and staring. but the food... my mashed potatoes could classify as a rock, couldn't even try to eat them because they were so solid. when lifted out of the bowl they retained the shape of the bowl, hence the photo. they also forgot bringing multiple items to the table and we had to listen to two people pester us with their take home meals while we were trying to eat our meals. One of our favourite stops. The food isn't great. Always needs doctoring. The servers are always terrific. Most everywhere we go they are funny, down-to-earth folks. There's a crazy fun general store you must enter/exit through. Pretty smart. We usually spend every bit as much money in the store as in the restaurant. Never, ever again. We arrived at 6:00pm on a Sunday and were immediately sat. That should have been our first red flag. Our order was taken and we received our drinks. One hour and 15 minutes later, the manager came by to tell us they were out of macaroni and cheese, and what else we wanted to do. No apology, no empathy, nothing. During this time of waiting, we saw others get up and walk out due to the lack of service, we saw drinks get taken back because the cups were dirty, a gentleman next to us waited 20 minutes (and asked three separate employees!) for salad dressing because the waitress forgot it when bringing out his salad. Our response to what we wanted to do in lieu of the macaroni and cheese was to leave. The manager wished us a good night, and that was the end of it. We will never return to this location. read more

This is a nice location just off the Interstate (I-75, exit 15). Head just west and make a left at their (small) sign on the south side of the road. Plenty of parking here. The store and dining rooms were clean and well maintained. Short wait to be seated. Food was delicious and plentiful. Service very good and friendly. As always, a great value and fun time. read more

Visited several months ago and found the dining area to be very dirty. Sticky floors, sticky tables. I can tolerate the slow and poor service but this gives all Cracker Barrel restaurants a bad name. I'm afraid to think of how dirty the kitchen area might be. read more

To start our waitress Jess was amazing! 2nd it was the worst food and the place was so dirty !!! I have never experienced this nastiness in my.life at a restaurant. We have eaten here often, whenever we are traveling north or south along I-75, but it has been a while. This one, like many Cracker Barrels, has sometimes been crowded and we've had to wait as much as 30 minutes for a table. Today it was not crowded at 12:15pm and we were greeted and seated immediately! Our server was Drew and she started with our drinks while we briefly pondered the menu! Our favorites at Cracker Barrel are Chicken & Dumplings (always a given), Lemon Pepper Trout, and Grilled Haddock dusted with Corn Meal. Since it has been a while, I had to order the Chicken & Dumplings! My wife was intrigued by Thursday's special, Turkey n' (Cornbread) Dressing Dinner for $5.99!! These came with choice of two sides and Biscuits or Cornbread, we took one of each plus Corn that we both like. Drinks came out right away and our food followed in just a few minutes. Gourmet? Maybe or maybe not! But it WAS delicious and filling Comfort Food served hot and fast! We've always had great and friendly service here and Drew has continued that by checking on us just enough to see if we needed anything! I made a review already when I receive my food it was raw my sausage was raw. My bacon was raw and my ham was raw. And my hash brown casserole was burnt to a crisp The email that the manager gave me to respond to her I was never given a response back. My experience was absolutely horrible! Hair in my daughter's pancakes. Dumplings came out basically cold. My wife's whole meal was unbelievable, complete waste of money. Her chicken and dumplings had literally 1 tiny piece of chicken in it and hers and my daughter's hash brown casseroles were hard as a rock. We first asked to speak to a manager only about the hair in the pancake but the manager was rude and basically didn't care. After that my family started trying to eat and that's when we realized how bad everything was. Asked for manager again and she told us that's how everything was supposed to be. She told us "that's the new recipe for the hash brown casserole". Overall everything but our sever was a huge disappointment. Dirty tables all around us. Workers getting yelled at to come clean up tables. Just not the night I wanted with my family. Tasty food, excellent service. On our way to Toledo Zoo, stopped here. Convenient, right off of 75. Breakfast was great; grits were standard Northern style grits (a little soupy, not thick like Southern style). Fried chicken is tasty, but it was reminiscent of Banquet from the freezer section. A friend gave us a $25 gift certificate to cracker barrel so we thought we would try the one in Monroe Michigan what a mistake, we got there at 8:00 p.m. and we're told that the items on the menu that we wanted were sold out and unavailable we thought we would try to meatloaf what are disaster everything was overcooked they were out of gravy and everything was cold, I thought well at least it's not going to cost much because we have a gift certificate when we went to check out we were told that although the gift certificate was valid The machine would not process it and we would have to call the number on the back and get the card reissued, needless to say I'm not going to bother but I will never enter that store again read more

This location is a nightmare. Keep driving or eat elsewhere, trust me. Sat us at a dirty table, all around us dirty tables, not bussed, dirty dishes everywhere. Asked to be moved and was told impossible it was the only table that was able to be served, had a waiter available. Got up with my family and asked to see the manager. Manager says her staff is overwhelmed and several just went on break(6:30pm / Dinner time) Was told they will get me seated when they can. Walked around the store area with my family, 15mins later called us, and sat us at another dirty table. lol 20 mins later the server shows up, taking orders from our table and another next to us at the same time. Dirty tables all around. Finally get ordered,,,20 mins later server shows back up with waters and says they are out of dumplings and hamburger buns for the hamburger my daughter ordered. lol finally just gave up and walked out an hour after we got there Was talking to the the 3 other tables around us, they received their soup ice cold, no drinks offered to any of our tables, etc, etc All 3 tables walked out, including us. Management just makes excuses, and clearly is not managing ANYTHING.
