I love me some CB! It's comfort food when you need it., in a cozy environment. I wanted hamburger steak to eat so to my surprise they had it on the menu. It's actually listed on the menu as a 'returning favorite'. There was a little wait before I was able to get seated. The hostess girl was bubbly. Once seated my server came over ready to take my drink & food order. She was very efficient. I'm pretty sure she saw the look of hunger in my eyes! Haha It didn't take long for my order to come out. My hamburger steak fried okra, pinto beans , turnip greens were all hot and very good! There was an up charge of $1 for gravy and onions. The servings were plentiful. We were so looking forward to our meal, but fate intervened. We arrived around 11:47am 7/10/26. Expected a crowd, but the near empty center section should have told us to leave. We both ordered fried catfish filets with Cole slaw and fried okra. The food came out and both were surprised at our okra, I had 13 pieces and my wife had 12, the coleslaw was just shredded cabbage and we think just a cheap mayonnaise. No flavor or seasoning at all. I did eat the okra and the fish. Wife didn't eat the okra just a bite of the slaw. I had two bites. We did complain to the server about the okra and he commented "it's the portion we serve". Average service, horrible food. We thought we deserved better for a meal costing us 40.00 (included tip) Diners beware of Trussville location. This waitress OMG- she wanted to "rush" us to order, on menus stated store had- Salmon - when asked, did not even get but "Salmon" said-"oh, we do not have that, I really wish they would remove that flyer from the menus." My husband ordered, asked her to come back for me with the drinks. She toke order for me, when food was brought- she was literally throwing the basket of breads & shoving plates in our faces (I had a game playing on phone) barley had time to make room for her to set plate. Few minutes later brings ticket, did not see her again. I go to restroom before leaving, in there she is washing hands - looks at me, "do u guys need anything else?" Really!!! In the bathroom!!!!! I have waited tables, I would never have done that. This person acted like it was killing her to be there, & worse to TRY and be nice. Food was ok, had worse, had better. My Country Breakfast, was good the little that I was able to eat, I had to have a to go box to take the rest home to have for my evening meal. My server, was really, nice with a great big smile on her face, as she went from one table to the next. Being a server, is a hard job, it takes special people to be able to handle that job, but she was great. The restaurant was crowded and all, but it wasn't to the point where it was a lot of loud talking or kids or babies crying or such, it was just fine. The lady, whom worked at the check out really nice, had the line, moving ringing people up and getting them out quickly and greeting people as well, as she looked up as someone entered the country store restaurant. Don't waste your time. Even when placing an order online/via the app, I waited over an hr after the pick up time for nothing. Followed the protocol of entering my parking spot number, called the store after sitting for 30 minutes for them to tell me "we're working on it", then finally went inside the time was past an hr after the original pick up time. "The grill is working on it now and it will be another 20 minutes " is what I was told. The girl at the counter thought it was funny and was giggling into the ear piece when I asked to cancel the order. After my visit last night I can see why this place gets terrible reviews and it was the least crowded Cracker Barrel. My Wife and I and our kid stopped in for dinner and the experience was pretty pitiful. We sat for almost an hour waiting for our food because according to the waitress "The kitchen lost the ticket or it was overlooked" despite us being one of 3 tables she was handling. We think it was actually the waitress that forgot to put it in and wanted to blame it on the kitchen. The food was good but definitely our most dreadful experience at a Cracker Barrel. The only upside to this visit was the extremely nice lady cashing me out as she apologized profusely and even offered something free for the terrible experience. Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite places but this was not my favorite visit! They were out of milk which to me is very odd for a breakfast restaurant. When I asked for biscuits I was told they would come out with my meal. Once the meal arrived she told me that they would be a charge ($4 for 4 biscuits... which is insane!) she later came back to say that she found a promo to get them at no charge. Not sure if they have changed their policy but biscuits in the past had always been free to my knowledge. Maybe she was new and wasn't aware of the policies. I ordered the grandmas sampler. The pancakes were great and best part of the menu. Everything is was meh...the hash brown casserole was overcooked and mushy, and the bacon seems to be a cheaper version now. The visit to the store made experience better. Don't slip on their clothes... they actually have some cute options! The kids clothes are always the cutest. Honestly, my favorite part about the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is the old country store part that you walk through to get to the restaurant part. It has some cool things that you can find. Some of the prices aren't bad, but some prices are a little bit over. I guess that could be said about anywhere. The restaurant itself is not terrible, but it is also nothing spectacular. Honestly, you could probably find better at a local mom-and-pop type restaurant. I will say that I find their breakfasts the best option. I like the country fried steaks with the eggs. That is probably my go-to item. The service at this particular Cracker Barrel Old Country Store was fine. The food was okay, nothing special, but nothing terrible either. I wasn't even seated and the wait staff jumped on host for putting me in her section. Honestly, it wasn't busy. I ordered and the food was served quickly. That was the nicest part of the visit. Tonight I wanted to get some souther cuisine and went to cracker barrel. I have not been to this location before, but i've been a couple times to others. We had a reservation so we didn't have much wait time. I don't think i saw any COVID restrictions. They were nice and friendly in taking my order and they had the food ready in a timely manner, even though the place was really busy. I ordered the US Farm-Raised Catfish, and it came with hushpuppies, and I choose green beans and hashbrown casserole as my sides. First time ever going to a Cracker Barrel. I was amazing with the store front they have in the front of the store. They have a large assortment of different candies and treats. As well a clothing. Everything, about the store was "warm and welcoming". When we entered the restaurant they were extremely busy. We had a large party and our waitress did the best she could. I ordered a lemonade and it was good. For my main dish I ordered fried chicken, catfish along side with the apples and Mac and Cheese. The food was just ok! First, the hostess told us and the people before us their wads a 20 minute wait then immediately proceeded to seat us. Not sure if she understands what she's doing. So we sat and sat and no one came to the table. Everyone around us were being served. Finally the same hostess took out drink order but made sure to tell us she wasn't our waitress. Another 15 minutes no one came. So we left no one stopped us. We told the hostess thw issue she just continued to sit like she didn't care. One of the worst dining experiences ever. The server was horrible. The place was a mess, very unclean. The hostess took 20 minutes to sit the people ahead of us and 30 for us. There were only two tables in use. All of there tables vacant and filthy. Piled up dishes every where. The floor was disgusting. The hostess dropped the menu on the filthy floor and picked it up and put it on the table. I ordered pancakes. How you f##k up pancakes so bad that you could not even cut them with a knife I will never know. Ordered tea and dessert to go. After 45 minutes, we just cut our losses and left, we had already paid. Its your standard Cracker Barrel. 5 stars for being in a convent place for people traveling south while trying to avoid Atlantas traffic. It was a Sunday afternoon and we just woke up and decided on good ole Cracker Barrel, we haven't been to this location in about 3 years. We got there and they said it will a 45 wait which was fine with us a 70 minutes later they called on our name. They sit us at a sticky table (syrup left on table by my right arm side) we was sitting for 15 minutes until we got a waiters attention asked if anyone will help us to get any drinks. He annoyed but very kindly asked what we would like to drink and we said Two waters with a lemon. He left and came back with our drinks. Few minutes after our waitress finally comes and asked what we would like and I asked for 4 more glasses of water or pitcher of water so she wouldn't have to come refill multiple times (We were hungover) and we also ordered our food. The drinks came and another waitress brought us all our food and she was extremely nice and gave us biscuits. My salad was eh (could've been rinsed better) and came at the same time as my warm food which my food was delicious! This was my favorite spot for years back in 2015-2018.
