This was my first time trying Waffle House. I've heard a lot of stories about them, so I was never interested until today. Lol. It's a small restaurant that seems kinda busy. The cook was definitely doing her thing on the grill. I ordered my food then sat and watched. She didn't miss a beat. She was the only one cooking which I didn't expect since they were busy, but she stayed cool. I ordered a classic waffle, and a hash brown bowl Togo. There is a fee for takeout, which they didn't advise me of. I ordered cheese, onions, sausage gravy, and ham in my bowl, but they forgot the onions. It wasn't a big deal, so I got over it.. I did like the cheesy eggs.. The waffle was ok. Nothing special but still good. The hash brown bowl was tasty and a decent portion. The prices were pretty reasonable!! The staff was ok. They were busy so the interactions were pretty limited. They weren't welcoming, but they weren't mean or rude or anything. We looooooove Waffle House, food is always great but what I don't love is the young lady (Kylie) making me repeat my order because she's on the phone with her AirPod on. Our drinks were never brought out. Our food came out first then when the other young lady noticed she's the one who brought drinks and the silverware. Felt like customers were an afterthought, but our server was a bit friendlier after we connected a little more. She was still distracted by all the other things she needed to do. This Waffle House is easily one of the best I've been to. The vibe was great, good music playing and the workers were singing and dancing like it was a mini concert. It honestly made the experience so much fun. I forgot the name of our waitress but she was amazing. I ordered my usual All-Star and had zero complaints as always. I rarely ever have issues with Waffle House but this location really stood out. What impressed me the most was how clean everything was. Waffle Houses aren't always known for cleanliness but this one was spot on. You could tell the whole crew was taking care of the kitchen. We visited the Virginia Beach location Lynnhaven on a weekday. School was out that day so there was a wait, which is to be expected. We ended up sitting at the bar. We were greeted quickly and ordered promptly. The food came out in a timely manner but it was cold. Kind of disappointing. read more

Food actually was okay except for hot tea which was lukewarm when I finally got it. My hearing is bad especially in a noisy place so likely miscommunicated with waitress. What she brought me was quite a bit more money but I couldn't pin it on her. My main complaint was another employee (and there were many people working there). That was the cook. He's a hard worker, did fine cooking, fine cleaning the floor, but was it necessary to squirt me with sanitizer? I was sitting at a table near the grill and I felt liquid hit me in several places but thought nothing of it. But then I saw cook guy with squirt bottle of sanitizer and then I got angry. I think he squirted me from the back but yet I could not prove it so decided to keep quiet. But when I saw guy it annoyed me, big guy, big shot, lording it over the younger waitresses. I have seen it all before from my years at McDonalds but never seen a fellow employee squirt a customer before. Uncalled for. If I had seen him do it of course I would have caused a scene. First of all this was my first time ever at Waffle House. The customer service made the whole experience INCREDIBLE. My friend and I met for a quick lunch and mentioned splitting a couple of items while we chatted. When our lunch showed up it was already split for us. As soon as you enter, you're greeted with a smile, asked if dining in or carryout. A table is immediately cleaned. Waitress was polite and friendly. I typically call my orders in for pickup but they RARELY answer the phone! I understand not being able to answer the phone on a Sunday morning when they are slammed but random times in the day or evening time and I try calling every 10mins for 30mins and NOTHING. It's so frustrating. Makes me think that if they aren't likely to get a tip (like with pickup orders vs dine in) then they don't bother. When they do occasionally answer the phone the order is typically ready by the stated time (i.e. 15-20mins). The parking lot is very small but the inside is typical Waffle House set up. So took the kids for breakfast. Place was busy it usually is, got a seat rather quick and only a short wait to order and our waitress was amazing. I ordered a coffee when it arrived it had some salt around the rim i hadn't noticed before I took a sip so the salty coffee was not very good but she swapped it for a Mr Pibb and it was better. Food was not seasoned at all. I did not even get through half of my cheesesteak bowl because it was so bland. There was syrup spilled on a tray in the back which was attracting flies and they kept landing on the syrup container so the kids opted for waffles with no syrup. While this was not my regular Waffle House, I will say the service and food were pretty comparable to other nice Waffle House restaurants in the area. My waitress, "Ineeda", was pretty funny and very prompt with service. Overall, this location was pretty clean . . . I have seen some Waffle House restrooms that still give me nightmares to this day. Fortunately, this location was not one of those places. Although this location is not my regular Waffle House, I'd definitely return when I have a craving for an MVP breakfast special. This location was right along our route so around 8AM, we made the pit stop. For a Saturday morning, at prime breakfast time, they weren't busy at all. I've been going to this location since it opened. This is my favorite Waffle House to go to. Great service and can't beat the price of the food. I've never been when it was too packed but I hear it can get packed on the weekends. My favorite thing to get is the all star meal. You can a little of everything, the last few times I went my waffle was a little soggy in the inside, from now on I just request that they leave it in a little while longer. When I placed my Togo order over the phone the server could barely hear me, I had to yell, she said it was loud in there but when I went to pick up my food it wasn't loud at all. I order the exact same thing every time I go and the price changes and depends on who is taking the order. I get 2 egg and cheese sandwiches , no meat , not a melt just plain toast sandwiches, and a drink. Sometimes my order is less than $10 and sometimes it's almost $20. We walk in and seat ourselves. Our waitress comes over and is pretty much lifeless and takes our drink and food order. Foods cheap, so the food is meh. We order and don't wait long. What got this place a 1 star is the incompetence of our waitress. My husband gets the bill and went up to pay. He should have asked her to recalculate but he doesn't like confrontation. So I go up and ask her to do math in front of me because there is no way 2 waffles, 2 hash browns, and a coffee come up to a little more than $22. She does the math and again comes up with the same amount. Really, lady? I pull out my phone and show her its roughly $13. She then blames the calculator, and looks for another one even though I showed her the calculations in front of her. Some other employee tells her to just go and finish her tables while she does the refund. The new lady goes: was it her fault? I look at her stupidly and go: who else's would it be? She fixed my bill, did the refund, and then gives me coupons for free waffles. I laughed because why would I come back? My dad wanted to take me and my step mom out for breakfast. They come here often enough to know the regular staff people... I think my dad really enjoys the jukebox that's available and when we came here it was not crowded (probably since people were still staying indoors due to snow). He was able to have it all to himself. Service was quick. Food was satisfying. No flavored creamers...boo but coffee was still good. I ordered the All Star breakfast. Last experience at a Waffle House was on Indian River road. Not great. This location is brand new and very close to my house so the family and I decided to give it a try. We walked in with a 10-15min wait which didn't take long at all. So we sat down at the table and I noticed a few things, flies were buzzing right by the window and the sauces such as ketchup and steak sauces seemed to look sticky and they were. I ordered steak and eggs and I customized my hash browns by smothering them with sautéed onions and sautéed mushrooms. I also ordered a sweet tea for a drink. Food arrived pretty quick, presentation looked similar to how I prepare breakfast at home, nothing to special. The quality of the steak wasn't that great either, I hope it's not the $1 steak from the dollar tree! I had to smother it in steak sauce to enjoy it. I was about to ask the server about my hash browns since I didn't see the mushrooms and onions but then I lifted the hashbrowns and there they were on the bottom! Why advertise on ways to smother your hashbrowns if you are just gonna throw them on your plate and throw some hashbrowns on them. Prices are pretty cheap though. Food was ok, nothing to shabby but I'd rather go to Village Inn, IHOP, or Denny's. I would only go here to have a waffle.... and that's it. read more

We came here on Wednesday at 9:30 am. The menu is very small and straight forward. Breakfast on the front and dinner on the back. They have specials if you ask. Our server I forgot her name but she was blonde with tanned skin and petite. She was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The waffles here are the bomb!!! 30+ years of eating at Waffle Houses all over the country, and I have to say this was the absolute worst dining experience I can recall. Food not made to order, sent back, returned identical. Still wrong. Paid for onions and mushrooms that never made it to the plate. Texas sausage sandwich melt had an entire half of a patty of sausage. "Iced tea" was steeping warm. Ordered a side of bacon. Under cooked and looked "old"; was not able to eat. All for $18. What a meal. Also noted that the sign they use to track the eggs freshness hadn't been update in a day and a half. Restaurant dirty overall. Ironically counted 7 employees "working". Only myself, one other at bar, and one couple in a booth for customers, so not remotely busy. read more

So far I'm giving them 4 stars. I've been there 2x and both times I've almost cleaned my plate! I've failed to take pics of the food because I was near starving and had to dig in..sorry. I got the scrambled eggs with raisin toast, sausage and hash browns. So good!! My daughter got the chocolate chip waffle (was very big!) and she ate every bit. My boyfriend got the BLT and liked it but wished he had gotten something bigger. The coffee and tea are very good also. The service will get better I think. They are located in between several neighborhoods, basically the heart of Green Run, and I'm thinking this might be a first job for many there. It's ok and they can only get better by experience and understanding from people. Can you remember your first job and how awkward things were??!! The prices are very affordable.
