Uninteresting menu and fairly pricey. We had fried shrimp and it was good, not fabulous.

So crafty crab is trying to hide my review!!! How does yelp allow this? Straight outta rehab is my title you will see why later. Crafty Crab not very crafty. So from reading previous reviews about how poorly the service is I was skeptical but figured I would give it a shot. From the moment we walked in and talked to the hostess I knew the reviews were going to be correct. We walked up and asked if we could put in our name. The hostess looked at us with this odd look on her face and said we don't take names. Then she just stood there quietly and we're like OK how do we get our table? She said we give out numbers and then just stood there oddly. So we were asked "can we please get a number? She's answers "oh yeah here you go" and gave us a number. It was very strange that we had to ask about the process instead of her just saying we don't take names please take a number. After our number was called and we got to our table the restaurant looks nice and I was looking forward to some good food. Then enters our waiter.... STRAIGHT OUTTA REHAB and he had zero knowledge about anything on the menu and wreaked of withdrawals. His big thick silver chain around his neck that he bought at the thrift store under the lake worthless bridge. We looked at each other at the table knowing the night was going to be interesting. We tried to order beer but of course a month after opening they have no beer on tap so we had to order bottles which is fine but they didn't have any IPA beers available. We ordered apps and when they came to the table they didn't bring plates or silverware. We ate off of paper towels it really had that that new apt in the ghetto kind of feeling. So if you're into that this is your place. When our food came out it's on a platter in a plastic bag and even though the presentation wasn't great the food did taste good. During our meal the staff was ghosted. Couldn't get anyone to help us. We had a large table so our table had stuff everywhere. The manager walked by and asked how everything was and we asked if we could get the table cleared off. He said he would send someone over. A few minutes later someone came over and partially cleaned off our table but never came back. The manager walked by and asked if they took care of us and all he needed to do was look at our messy table and say I'll get someone back over to clean this off. It was a little unreal the manager couldn't tell the table wasn't cleaned off by using his eyes. *see attached picture* We wanted desert but nobody cleaned our table off so we asked for the check. Then as our silver chained jittery rehab waiter brought us the check and he just stood there as we filled out our tip. I've never had anyone stand at my table as we paid our tip. He kept saying we did very well for such a large party and our bill wasn't high. He was correct. The place is cheap but our bill would have been higher if staff was around to give us more beer and desert. Oddly, He stood there hovering and telling us he has 7 kids as we signed for our bill. Sorry bud I don't have a weak spot for you and I think you should not have anymore kids. He apologized for not being helpful because they got really busy and he was at other tables. Buddy I don't care how well you helped other tables because we only saw him twice during the meal. The kitchen brought our food out, not him. So Stay off the drugs and I'm glad you're back into society working but the manager really needs to train the staff on how to do their jobs. We left hungry so we walked down to carvel to get icecream. I felt like grabbing a pizza from little Ceasar's but like prom n... I've had enough disappointment for one night. If you're looking for great service, this is NOT the place. If you're looking for mediocre service, this is NOT the place. Want bad service? This is your place! To start, not everything on the menu is available because they "just opened". I'm not sure what their definition of just opened is because I believe it's been well over a month. It would be nice if they provided you with their availability right away but they wait until you're ready to order their missing items to inform you. Ordering drinks was a long process because they have nothing available on draft as advertised. Everyone has to rethink their order because all they have is domestic bottles. I ordered a Corona and it came without lime. I asked for one and was provided with two dry limes, probably cut last week. To start, we ordered the calamari and fried oysters. Both were good but the oysters came with fries which is odd. Seems like they're added as a filler to make it seem like you're getting more. Our party wasn't provided any plates or utensils so maybe their intent is to eat with your fingers and put our food on the butchers paper tablecloth. We asked for these and they eventually turned up during our meal after asking for them again. Dinner came and everyone was happy with their choice of crab. Well cooked and seasoned and came out pretty quickly considering they were busy. We inquired again about utensils and they finally made their appearance about mid-way through the meal. There's not a knife in sight. Your utensils package consists of a regular fork, cracker and wet nap. A smaller seafood fork would be nice since you're there to, you know, eat seafood. This is where the service ended. Getting our server back to our table was an event in it of itself. Our garbage can was overflowing, drinks empty and in desperate need of more napkins. We sat and waited for someone to attend to us. Finally, a manager showed up to ask if were OK with everything. We said we needed a few things snd to send our server over. He came over and by this time most of had finished their meal. We asked that he start clearing and he did, but only a quarter of our items. We really enjoyed that . We had enough of staring at the crab carcasses and asked for the bill. It came and so did the attention of our server finally! We filled out the receipts, while being hovered over, which was incredibly annoying. Overall, the food was good. They are in desperate need of experienced staff and the items listed on their menu, AVAILABLE. Two pretty basic goals for any restaurant. For those two reasons, we won't be back and wouldn't recommend. It's South Florida, there's a lot of competition and your money will be better spent at another establishment. read more

Bad bad attitudes by the staff from the moment we walked in...... I was with my mother and we requested a booth and we were not going to be given one because it was not convenient to the next up server. The waitress had no idea what kind of clams were being served and had no idea what kind of wine from the bar because "she doesn't work the bar and they have only been open 2 weeks "!! All I can say is wow !!!! Ran out of gumbo and the waitress had no idea until the manager came over and informed us that they ran out 2 tables ago, wow!! The place is huge and colorful and for that the ambiance is quite cheerful! The Boom sauce is delicious, I had it with both the snow crab as well as the king crab. Honestly I don't recoommend the pound of kind crab because you only get 2 legs (and no I don't mean two halves of a crab), literally just two legs and it worst if you get the half pound cause you only get one leg. You get a better bang for your buck if you get the pound of snow crab. I will also say they are a bit pricey than any other sea food boil that I have tried. Gumbo was seasoned just right. Fried oysters and sweet potato fries really good too. Oystered cooked perfectly. Crispy, hot and not greasy. 10 fried oysters in the basket. Crawfish boil with butter garlic sauce was pretty good. Crawfish were large so couldn't just pinch tails cause shells were hard. Butter garlic sauce was great especially on the corn. Visited the newly opened Crafty Crab in Boynton. We had the shrimp and snow crab combo for one and I had the fried oysters with half dozen raw oysters. The presentation was great. The crab and shrimp came in a blown up see thru plastic bag..steamed to perfection...you have to see it. The shrimp were large and juicy. The oysters came out on a bed of ice and the fried were a generous portion..I'll want to try the gumbo on my next trip.. Place was quiet as we came early..staff was friendly and efficient. I was surprised to see bibs and plastic gloves..a nice touch. The coleslaw had no detectable added sugar which was nice to see. read more

On vacation staying at ,my sisters/BF condo down the road from the Boynton, Crusty Crab. figured give it a shot. looks like a restructure of Joes crab shacks but much nicer. found out they only opened a few weeks ago. still some stuff to workout as a New place, Service was great. food was awesome. I have tried the Boynton Beach site on two occasions. I was hoping to find another hidden treasure like the crafty crab location in Maryland. The Boynton site has an awesome atmosphere. The food would be great If it was cooked fresh and served hot! On both occasions the food was served cold. The sad reality is I can see the food potential. if the workers in the kitchen were advised to cook the items in a timely fashion and to send them out immediately verses placing them under a heating lamp. Timing is everything. Many businesses are using the excuse of Covid as an excuse for bad service and bad food. Business is not an excuse; it's a reality. I called to make an order since their online portal was not working. While on the phone a gentleman walked into the restaurant told the woman I was on the phone with he was put on hold for 8 minutes and forgotten about so he needed to put in a to go order. The woman then proceeds to tell me she's really busy and to call back in 5 minutes. When I asked if she was serious she said "yea it's really busy I can't do it right now" needless to say I saved myself $50 and just went to the Publix seafood department. read more

the worst crawfish I've ever had. I'm from Louisiana and have been really craving. They have the sauce down so 2 stars is solely for that, but the crawfish is not fresh. This is not what the texture and taste is supposed to be like and the sauce cant mask it. I cant say for anything else since I havent tried. Great food. Terrible service. We had to get out of our seat 5 times to request silverware and had to take napkins off another table. Liquor on menu, but not available. My friends an I were there last night. They charged for food we did not receive, it took forever to get anything... including water, and then the manager spent the better part of an hour looking at surveillance cameras to make sure we actually didn't receive our food. First off , I got dragged here during the corona outbreak being a server myself we are all taking precautions for safety for ourselves and our guests. Idk if they missed the memo on some of the precautions , but that's besides the point upon arriving we were sat, greeted within 5 mins asked for a high chair and sanitizer which we got but idk if the server didn't want us but she threw us to another server! Oh well not a big deal. We then sat another 5 minutes before getting our drink order then 10 minutes to get our drinks. Food did come out fairly fast , but then never seen our server again. I asked for a refill as she passed by me , it was water nothing to crazy. Waited 20 minutes until finally I asked another server , then waited another what seemed to be 10 minutes to which I got myself up and walked over to the bar to ask for some water to where I was told to ask my server haha like are you kidding. I'm the type of person that's very lenient when I go out to eat , I'm very minimal in sending things back unless it's absolutely disgusting I have patience, etc and I never tip less then 20% no matter what. Today I broke that and tipped 15% it broke my heart to do it but there's just a time when enough is enough. But for a guest to have to get up In the middle of their meal to refill their own drink is horrifying !!!!!! I understand the outbreak is happening and you only had two servers but the place is UNORGANIZED AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!! It's peak dinner ours why the hell do you have two servers on that can't handle their tables accordingly that they can't even get a water refill. You either need to hire better servers or get a little more organized on the sections. Okay that's all. 3 stars because I did enjoy my meal. BTW Bring back the sushi place!!!! read more

The reviews had me a little nervous. I went to check it out and we had king crab, scallops in boom sauce and a big seafood in the bag of mixed seafoods. Everything was so fresh and delicious and that boom sauce is out of control awesome. I don't like messy food with my hands so I put it on the side for my crab I didn't even want better I just dipped it all in there. The wine selection is not great but aside from that five star. First time here and the service was awful. It wasn't just my server either. The table next to us were complaining as well and they had a different server than us. The place wasn't even busy... if it were I could give the benefit of the doubt. The only reason im giving 2 stars is because the food was not bad and the place on the inside is cute. This place is also overpriced... I have been to other similar places and didn't spend that much. The calamari is not good at all. It literally tastes like frozen rubber. Crafty crab was extremely disappointing. I ordered appetizer that came out cold and then got a watered down Drink. $9.50 filled with ice. I had 2 sips and my drink was gone. Ordered blue crab, which I know is small but tasty, and 4 super duper tiny crabs were served with almost no meat and cold. I would never return there or recommend. Good luck if you do. read more
