Got off from work and wanted to try the crawfish and to order a Long Island Ice Tea. I ordered the special Crawfish and Shrimp. The crawfish was terrible and small and majority of them were dead already. So I wouldn't recommend this place for crawfish. The main disappointment was the Bartender, she needs to be fired, she's after sitting down at the bar she does not acknowledge me and continue to gossip to the waitresses. Finally when she came over I informed her I wanted to order the Watermelon Long Island Ice tea. She acted as if she didn't understand so I informed her again. She begins to get loud and refuse to make the drink. The manager comes over and inform me she will make my order. I didn't get names.. but the manager is a black full figured female with locs and the other bartender had a rag on her head bald headed and have a tongue piercing. She actually looked like a janitor instead of a bartender. To identify her she worked Wednesday around 7:30 pm on January 29th. She needs to be fired because she's going to cost you, your place of business to lose money. Bad experience and the food was not good. read more

I really like this restaurant. The spicy boiled Seafood is great. The service is usually good, but was outstanding today. My sausage, shrimp and snow crab were delivered quickly. I ordered the comined flavors-the bomb, and fire hot is my choice. Excellent. Corn delicious. Potato a little overcooked for my taste, but tolerable. I also enjoyed a Margarita with taking, superb. Absolutely do not recommend this place. The table and bench were dirty and sticky. The service was slow and our server did not communicate well. The hostess sat us in the far corner of the restaurant where the staff hangs out and I had 3-4 people standing right behind my husband watching me eat the whole time. The food left much to be desired in both quality and quantity. And, to top it all off they gave us a flimsy little plastic fork to eat with, no spoon or knife and no napkin! I have friends that rave about the Crafty Crab so we decided to eat there. Big, big, big mistake. We were seated right away at around 5:30 PM. The menu was easy to read. The waiter was semi-attentive and made some recommendations. My husband ordered the fried oysters and I had the snow crab special. He did not eat a large majority of his order. He said the oysters had no seasoning on them and tasted very bland. My order came in a large plastic bag hot. I had the crafty cajun mild seasoning on my food. That seasoning was nasty. I cannot even describe the taste. I tried to like it and ate one snow crab. The seasoning had a rancid taste and I could no longer eat anymore. My husband tasted it and said it was horrible as well. Well I spent $78.00 that was including a $10.00 tip. I will never, ever, ever, go back. Normally the waiter is attentive and when you complain to them about the food or they see the food is still on the plate, they ask you about it or tell the manager. I love crafty crab but i was so disappointed. me and my friend came here to enjoy some crawfish as we always come to this location but mid way eating we found a spider in our seafood boil! I called the manager over to address the spider in my friend's boil he comped her food but he wouldn't comp mine or even offer it at a discounted price. i don't mind paying but when i seen a spider i just totally lost my appetite and wasn't even able to enjoy my food or eat any of it. read more

Yesterday we waited for 20 minutes after being seated without a waitstaeff ever once stopping by. Not to greet us or even offer a glass of water. I have always enjoyed my visits here with the family. So I stayed patient, then 2 other tables were filled and within minutes waitstaff was attending to them. We sat in the middle dining room and still were never seen or attended to. After I got up and ask a very disinterested employee who was the manager on duty. It took another 10 minutes for someone to casually walk over and halfway apologized for being left unattended 30 minutes in a slow time slot. The place was 25% filled if that much. Her lack of interest in how poorly this reflects on this establishment really frustrated me. My dining partner asked me this question in the employees presence that made his opinion make sense. Love, do you really want to eat in a place where the welcome starts out this way? The answer is no. I have no intentions of returning but saddest of all. I have no intention of ever recommending them either. I use to all the time and in a city with so many options competing with them let's just say. This place is great!! With one hiccup, which is why I took off a star. The hiccup: I visited on a Saturday so I understood that there would be a wait for a table but there was an available seat at the bar. I asked if I could sit at the bar and order a drink before my table was available and I was told by the hostess that the bartender had requested that they not seat anyone else at the bar. I explained I just wanted to sit while I wait and get started with my first drink. I've never heard of that and think that a business would lose money this way. My first time here. I ordered the 1lb of snow crabs with boiled headless shrimp, mild with buttery garlic. It came with corn & potatoes. The server recommended the mixed flavor, so I got that. On both visits the crawfish was seasoned ok...however the only way i could really taste it was when i dipped the corn in to the juice but the crawfish was seasoned however it tasted was watery. On the second vecond visit i didn't enjoy the crawfish at all, taste was watery. There was a 45 minute wait on a Sunday evening, but I decided to wait to give this place a try. The food was good but not great. I enjoyed my seafood boil, mainly the shrimp. The shrimp were a good size and not over cooked. The snow crab however, was small and slightly over cooked. The flavor was good. I had the flavor that mixes all three sauces together. I had medium spice which was not spicy at all. The sausage was tasty as well as the corn. They seemed short on staff so it took a while to get someone to take our order. Our waiter was nice but it took him a while to do follow ups, but I'm guessing it's because they were short handed. I will go back, however, there are other places in the area where I prefer the seafood boil over this establishment. read more

I just want to share this: Today I ordered takeout online and paid online. Once I got to the restaurant I decided I actually wanted to eat inside. I asked the woman at the take-out counter if that was fine, she said she'd check with the host. The host said it was, sat me at a table, asked if I needed anything. I stated "yes, I'll order a soda so that I can leave a tip." He brought the soda. 10 minutes later here comes this woman with an apron...she proceeds to think it's in her best interest to explain to me how restaurants work and how I was sitting in someone's section. As a former server and a long time customer service lead I think that was BEYOND inappropriate. None of that is the customers business. Sorry. ‍. I shouldn't have been sat if it was an issue but since I was that was something they should have discussed back of house and carried on. That should not have been brought to the guest as they are in MID BITE of food. I proceeded to tell the woman I'd ordered a drink so I could tip the server on my card and informed her I planned to leave a very generous tip. However, she continued to go on and on? (If it was THAT important she also could have had a little more class and shared that information with me AFTER my meal while I was closing out in a light, casual manner) I politely gathered my bag of half eaten food and left. This was my second visit here. The first time was the very first day they opened. The food and service was horrible then and horrible now. I ordered the fried shrimp basket and my friend ordered the fried oyster basket. The fried oysters were still raw inside of the batter. When you bit into it the grease oozed out and the batter fell off leaving you with the slimy oyster on the inside. The shrimp were the same. Golden brown batter that fell off at first bite. And honestly the shrimp could have been cooked longer because they were barely done. The fries were the best thing on the menu. This place obviously needs a new cook!!! There's a bar and quite a few tables but it wasn't crowded. Our food arrived in about 15 minutes. The drink was a frozen hurricane but it tasted like frozen NyQuil. It was definitely rot gut liquor!! Be prepared to spend a night on the toilet when you go to this crappy place. Probably should stick to the crawfish only at crabby crab! Make sure you have some Pepto on hand. Called restaurant at 8:45 pm to inquire closing time and wait time. Informed they closed at 11pm and wait time currently 35 minutes. We were placed on the waiting list. Arrived at 9:08 pm to check in. Three young ladies that worked there were standing around the hostess station talking loud and unprofessional. When we inquired about our location on waiting list, the hostess pointed at a hand written list of names and phone numbers in a small spiral notebook in front of her. She stated we were not on waiting list. After informing we called 20 minutes prior, another hostess shuffled some pages in the tattered notebook and found a blue post it note with our group information. She then placed our group at bottom of list and stated the wait would be another 35-45 minutes. We were told we could wait outside (as no seating in waiting area) they would call cell phone number provided "three times" when table ready. About 30 minutes later I check status on waiting list. Response "The kitchen closed at 9:30 and we not taking no mo orders". Informed that we were on waiting list to be seated and have been waiting outside per their instructions. Response, "We called you to tell you kitchen was closed" Long story short after dialogue with three different people, including the manager, they acknowledged they didn't call us. The atmosphere is amazing. The food was amazing as well I loved my sweet potato fries and my fish. However I didn't quite love my gumbo it tasted like cambells chuncky gumbo with added small shrimp. The tarter sauce was good but heavy it was like it was mixed with mayo. I typically am cheap when I grab food lol. For example I go to H.E.B on Fridays on Beechnut Street. There is a restaurant outside the store. I purchase the fish box and receive 2 Sides delicious fries and hush puppies for $6 With my fish. The regular price Is around $9 at the H.E.B. However At this Restaurant I payed 12.99 for 1 side. I chose the sweet potato fries. So the basket came without the hush puppies they sell 10 hushpuppies for 3.99. I didn't want all 10 but that's how they sell them. so with base price 12.99 and Additional 3.99 fee for the Hush puppies the total is 16.98. I refused to get the 2nd side because of the price. The price is $6-$10 from what I usually pay. Even though the basket will be with additional hush puppies I only could get 1 side. Luckily I'm a negotiator and managed to have my dinner dates to order different with the onion rings you get less but they did not charge more which was great. The Onion rings was extra crisp. I preferred lightly crispy but they was fresh. I definitely won out the 3 choices fries ,sweet potato fries,or onion rings. I chose my sweet potato Fries. So In my eyes I payed the extra to literally take Pictures in there restaurant and to eat and be served in the restaurant so atmosphere and customer service is everything. I feel our tip was good to the waiter he was cool I mean he got everything I asked for and had no problem taking the gumbo off my bill after I wasn't satisfied. Typical the waiter at other restaurants want to get manager approval and some forget to take it off so he gets a point for that. He greeted me immediately as soon i I sat down he get a point for that. He brought the lemon and sugar I always ask for promptly and the to go bag promptly. The bar wasn't open yet. The restaurant only been open 3 weeks. There allowing you to bring beer and wine until the Bar opens but not heavily promoting that and trying to get there bar up and running within the next 3 weeks. I'm a crab leg kinda girl. I ordered 2LBS of crabs, with their house seasoning. I was given potatoes and corn as a freebie, inside of the bag, which was nice. Unfortunately their crab legs are too small for the price and are a little over cooked to where the meat sticks to the shell once it's cracked. I recently tried this place and the combination of crawfish and boiled shrimp with some boom sauce. The flavor was great and the amount of crawfish and shrimp was pretty good. I thought the shrimp would be headless but maybe I clicked the wrong thing online. The selections when ordering online is a bit confusing. The food was good but they should do better in cleaning the seafood particularly the shrimp and the crawfish are pretty small. Not sure if that's just how they are coming in lately. We've passed this place numerous times but it was always in the evening and crowded. We decided to try it for lunch on a Saturday. I was pleased to see the place had an A rating from the health department and seating was immediate though the hostess was nowhere to be found and when she finally came to the front I wasn't aware she worked there as she had on regular street clothes and seemed to be a customer. Everything seemed clean and the waiter was very nice and courteous. We ordered the catfish basket and a cherry limeade from the bar menu. The drink was ok...syrupy sweet and nothing special but the fish was good. Often establishments will serve catfish with the silver backing making it taste like the lake it was swimming in but I was very pleased to see that the silver backing was lacking here! The fish was light, fresh and crispy. You get 3 nice size filets (or maybe 4? I can't remember) and everything was piping hot and delicious. The hushpuppies were light and delicious as well. The only drawback, besides the hostess, was the huge TV in the middle of the restaurant. I found I was constantly distracted by watching Red 2 (good movie!) while I was eating. No biggie though...next time I'll sit with my back to the screen. Music is nice and not too loud. All in all a pleasant lunch. read more

Crafty Crab just opened down the road so we went and gave it a try. Let's start with the positives. Food was pretty dang good. I ordered the combo snow crab and shrimp. As spicy as they get. It wasn't spicy enough but still tasted good. Seafood didn't taste old and came out piping hot. The server(forgot his name) was attentive and very polite. Now the negatives. I found a long, blonde hair in my food. I pulled it off and kept going because I'm not that freaked out by it but it isn't great. The other drawback was the oppressively load rap music blaring the entire time. I'm a fan of hip hop so it wasn't the choice of music so much as the volume. I'd like to be able to carry on a conversation with my family. Call me old fashioned.
