To sum up our first visit - over-priced, esp cocktails whihc are priced double compared to other similar restaurants and it's very loud! Our first time here with a party of five; they gave us a booth which was a bit 'tight seating' with 3 on one side. It is loud here so be prepared if you go. We did get a peek at the roof top (which isn't open yet) and even tho' it's on the smaller size, it will be a nice setting. We all ordered cocktails - just to compare, their prices are all double what Bardenay's charges for one cocktail AND they use a ' mediocre never heard of brand' of vodka! And no one could actually taste much, if any of this 'off brand' of vodka they use in their drinks. Salads are large but if you want bread w/your salad, they charge 'by the piece'. The burgers were a big hit, very good, altho' they tend to fall apart and you may end up having to use a fork. Key lime pie was delicious but $$. For a party of five, our bill was $200 (tip included). If we go back, it will be for the burger (and no cocktails.) If you decide to try them, suggest not ordering any cocktails and share a dessert with the table. read more

Loved the decor. Very nice! We Didn't love how the booth we sat in was closed off from seeing the rest of the restaurant and bar though. Wish it was more of an open feeling. Who likes to so isolated? We ended up here after our usual places were closed. So glad we did. All the food was excellent. There was a small problem with my husband's ribeye being a little tough, but he was more than happy with the flavor. They fixed him a new steak right away. My son loved the cioppino. We took some very good friends to Crave on Sat night in August and Irma was an overall great time. I made reservations a few weeks prior because they do book up fast. That have outdoor and indoor seating but I wasn't able to set a preference on the reservation. So I recommend calling if you have a preference. There was a few groups surrounding ours and it was quite loud indoors. Our waitress was amazing and refilled our wine whenever it was time. She also was excellent on her timing. Could tell she's had some great experience and training. We all loved our meals and finished our plates. Definitely recommend the braised short ribs. It's become the new hot spot in town because of the hoity toity urbanites moving to the area, but similar to urban restaurants in others states, the prices are high and the portions are small. Wanted to have my 55th bday party here in April, so hit it up for the first time tonight to check it out. Fri nite @6, there's a wait folks, 45 minutes. They took my #, text when table ready. Only took 20 minutes! Weeeeell, I wasn't impressed with the food. We started with a Blue Moon for Rik, an espresso martini for me, and spinich & artichoke dip. Martini was luscious, beer good. The appetizer bowl was blister-your-finger hot but the dip was tepid, with the chewy prosciutto saltiness over-riding every other flavor, and it was a little runny. Entres: Rik had ahi tuna with grilled shrimp, crab fried rice, and house-pickled veggies. I had Chilean Sea Bass with blistered tomatoes and sautéed spinich. Rik's tuna was seared, but ice cold so they seared it beforehand and kept it in the fridge? He loved the pickled veggies, and surprisingly I did, too. Crunchy, tangy with a sweet finish. The crab fried rice, though...DAMN. Forbidden rice, nice chunks of crab and mushrooms - perfectly seasoned. That's an eat-it-by-the-bucketful side! (Sorry Colonel). Rik's tuna was drizzled with a kimchi vinaigrette which again over-powered the tuna. My Chilean sea bass was a disappointment. After verifying they shipped it in fresh, I happily ordered what should've been an inch-plus-thick cut of fish. Instead I apparently got the tail, because it was long and thin, about a quarter inch thick. The middle third was cooked to perfection, but the left and right thirds were overcooked and chewy. Nicely pan seared, it might've actually been crispy IF THEY HADN'T PUT IT ON A BED OF WET SPINICH. Morons. So I had soggy, chewy sea bass. Chilean Sea Bass. FORTY FUCKING DOLLAR Chilean Sea Bass. IMALITTLEHOT. And the tomatoes weren't blistered, they were crushed and soggy. We ordered the chocolate mousse raspberry dessert. A little cake, a lotta mousse, it was easily 4 servings !and 3 teeny-tiny drops of raspberry sauce on the plate WITH SEEDS, with 3 raspberries on the cake. Sigh. SMDH. Brennan, the server, was a breath of fresh air - new, clearly, but sweet and attentive. Overall a 2 star experience for 4-star dining. We went to this establishment when they first opened, and was really happy we found a new spot. The dishes were your typical comfort food but with a modern fusion twist. And I usually do not like "fusion". For the next 2 months, we returned to this place quite a bit, hosted two birthdays and brought numerous friends here. The food was different, the recipes and taste were just right on. However, after about 3+ months in, we started noticing "the trend" that happens with too many great restaurants over here. The quality and taste started changing. The food was getting a lot saltier, and so many restaurants seem to do this. And we noted that and on the following visits, we specifically asked for less salt and it was still salty. After another try, we wrote this spot off. Fast forward almost a year later. We were looking for place to go to in a different direction than where we normally went and wanted an extended drive. So we decided to give Crave another shot. We ordered 4 appetizers (since we like a variety), soups, and three entrees. I was really impressed at how great the food was. Reminded me of when I first visited the place and my wife and I were both talking about how we'd found a new regular spot. Once again, I really love their different sauces. I had to ask my server to leave finished dishes because I wanted to use those sauces with my meals. I only hope that it will remain that way. Best restaurant! My favorite place to take family and friends visiting. Anyone have another similar recommendation?

This place is busy in the summer of 2021, so make a reservation. We didn't have one, even at 5pm, so waited at the bar for 30 minutes and tried an appetizer. The beef short rib dumplings were ok, but the price was very high for seven little dumplings. The fried chicken sandwich is big and is excellent. The fries on the side were adequate, but not anything special. The service and high energy and professional staff were very evident. The management appears to be doing an excellent job of hiring and training. If any servers or bussers walked by our table, and we needed refills or dishes cleared, or even if food was ready in the kitchen, it was handled immediately and with enthusiasm by the nearest server, even if not assigned to our table. It is an impressive operation. It is loud in most areas, and it has more of a California feel to it than a Boise feel, and a lot of people were focused more on drinking than eating, so it's not quite my style, but a lot of people 40-70 seemed to like it. read more

WOW! What a great experience! Our second time here. (We are new arrivals). Our first visit was just a few days prior for lunch with our Realtor. This visit was for my wife's birthday on November 3. We usually go to a well known steak house chain for special occasions but after our first visit to Crave I decided to surprise my wife and take her back to Crave. And I am so happy I did. I ordered a dozen white roses, her favorite, and had them delivered to Crave. Hostess Brenn took care of everything. She was fantastic, attending to every detail. She knew it was a special occasion so she reserved a Special table for us. (Great choice, Brenn, thank you). We had never met Brenn so when we arrived she greeted us with a big "knowing" smile and led us to our table where Renee's roses awaited her. After twenty two years of marriage it's always a challenge to surprise her but with the help of Brenn we pulled it off. Our server was Tara who was fantastic!!! She was very professional, warm and welcoming, traits every server should possess. "Service with a smile" is her motto. I don't think she knows how to frown. And that smile makes every customer feel special and comfortable. Tara tended to our every request and in a timely manner. And it was nice to meet Manager Ken who wanted to make sure we were enjoying our dinner. He's not like the "usual" manager who goes through the motions of greeting their customers but rather he genuinely likes conversing with his guests and we really appreciated meeting him. We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank dayshift Manager Chris and server Cory whom we met during our first visit and were most responsible for us making our second visit to Crave. Late afternoon party of 5 for drinks, appetizers & dinner. We had so much fun. The drinks were great, especially the spicy margarita . Appetizers were exceptional, the sushi roll was special - ordered more of them. I had fish tacos, others had salads and a pork chop. Everyone was pleased with food. If you want a steak sandwich don't bother. The ciabatta sandwich was a disgusting disaster. It was a soggy gross mess. I wasn't able to eat a single bite and it was removed from our 300 lunch check with 6 people but nothing was brought to replace such a disgusting mess of a sandwich and the owner didn't seem to care. We had 8pm reservations for my birthday dinner and I had asked for outdoor seating in my reservation. My friends arrived first and were seated in the bar area. I went to the hostess and asked if we could sit outside. She said of course and they would turn a table for us if we could wait a few minutes. We left our table and waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes. She finally came and told us they had changed their minds and were seating a large group on the patio so we had to go back to our bar table. The bar area is incredibly loud, we spent the next hour or so yelling at each other to be heard. Our wine didn't come out until the appetizers, so we had nothing to drink either. We left before having any dessert, exhausted from having to yell. Not the birthday experience I wanted and there's just no excuse for the nonsense the hostess pulled. If you're in a big group, you get priority, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Its too bad cause it is 5 minutes from my house. read more

My wife myself and 2 friends who live in the development behind crave went there today. We entered at about 12:30, it wasn't busy so we expected decent service. We ordered an appetizer around 12:35 and drinks, the spinach dip didn't show up until 1:30. The drinks were good but my old fashion didn't have any ice. The server didn't tell us what was going on but came back and took another drink order, she was nice but The drinks took 15 to 20 mins as well to show up. The food was ok, my tortilla soup needed salt but was ok, the Cobb was presented nicely , the side salad was a little small. I was expecting a little bit better service and higher end communication since lunch with just 1 soup, 1 salad and 3 drinks was 75 with tip. read more

So the waitress came back with our drinks I thought at first it must be some kind of PRANK because I have never been served a glass of wine where it was few sips full. Seriously. This is NOT acceptable I'm sorry. Especially if you're paying 12.00 dollars Then our meal came and even though it was very well presented it was probably the only thing that made up for the whole experience. My husband and I joined a friend for a late lunch today. Crave is a convenient location with a lot of parking. The physical building is stunning on the outside and posh, but casual on inside. There was an upstairs patio bar that we did not tour, but our waitress Alex said it had a more relaxed menu with some sushi options. We stayed inside on the ground level, but there was an outdoor dinning option on that level as well. There was also a private dinning room for parties up to 50. There was adequate social distancing and wait staff were wearing masks per health department's Covid requirements. We ordered a variety of dishes including tortilla soup, ceviche, and Cobb salads. The portions are generous. The consensus was that the tortilla soup was the best we have ever had. The ceviche was fresh. The Cobb salad was served with a ranch dressing rather than blue cheese. It had more flavor when a side of vinaigrette was added. Overall, it was an excellent dinning experience with good food in a pleasant environment. This was Crave's second day open. Kudos to a new restaraunt and new staff for making such a wonderful first impression. read more

We've been here several times now. The servers are always great. The food is okay, but not overly impressive for the prices. The last time we were in tonight... will be the last time. We talked to the bar manager? after our server said we had 2 choices when we ordered a bottle of Justin Isosceles. He came over and showed us both bottles and talked about the difference. We were all very clear in saying we were great with the original one we ordered... not the more expensive Reserve. When the bill came he had charged us for the reserve... which we did get.. but failed to notice the extreme subtle difference during conversation at the table. It was an additional $100 on top of a pricey bottle of wine. It's not the money, but the principle. I feel like he tried to up sell us and sneak it by figuring if we were spending money what do we care. It was dishonest and I'm very unhappy with this guy taking advantage of the situation to pad his sales. Crave is all the reasons I left California. Food was good but over priced. The chef won't allow ranch or bleu cheese dressings in the building because it's beneath him. He frowns upon having to substitute your side if he feels it doesn't pair well with the meal. On a 100 degree day, sitting on the patio downstairs, they refuse to allow me to order the frozen Rose' because they only allow it to be served on the upstairs patio. Based on the other reviews I was excited to try Crave. What I found was that my experience was micromanaged which led it to be unenjoyable. read more
