Build your own omelette: spinach, turkey, avocado with amazing sourdough toast!

Crazy beans is a bustling dining in a port town that offers retro charm, small town friendliness, and great food options. Check-in with the host, and expect to be asked to wait outside. They pack in a lot of diners, so there's not much space, not even for strollers (which they also request you leave outside). We went to crazy beans after it came highly rec'd by our Southold friends. Lattes, fresh juices, lobster quesadillas, and a "morning meltdown" omelette (egg white/turkey/avo/spinach) rounded out our order. The star of the meal was the buttered and toasted SOURDOUGH. I asked our server if it's baked in-house or precured from elsewhere (and where?!), but they didn't know. Nor did they care to find out. I can't find it on their website either. But just make sure you try any of their breads. From the looks of their Yelp photos, all the breads look fresh and worth the carbs.

Very good corned beef hash (here with eggs over easy). Everything cooked perfectly: crisp hash, crisp toast, delicate eggs. Excellent.

This is a well-conceived and well-run restaurant that does a few things and does them all very well. Great breakfast and lunch fare, quality ingredients, cooked perfectly, served quickly, in portions that aren't overwhelming, at fair prices, in a very fun room, with super friendly and efficient service.

Crazy Beans Retro Diner is a fantastic breakfast spot with wonderful food and a fun retro atmosphere. The decor is full of character, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We arrived at 9am on a Saturday and were seated right away, which was a great start to the day. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, and the overall vibe made the meal even more enjoyable. We will post more travel guides, photos, and videos from our Greenport trip and other locations at https://ourownpathtravel.com and on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@OurOwnPath

Stopped by here last Saturday for breakfast because I was in the mood for some diner food. I was not disappointed. The retro theming in here is so cute. We snagged a booth and ordered berry pancakes and the hashbrowns with eggs. Both were delicious. My favorite part of my meal was my coconut/hazelnut/chocolate latte which came with a foam cat surprise. It was a great start to our day. Thank you!

Great spot for breakfast or brunch! This is a hot spot so be prepared to wait, but get there and put your name on the call back list and then go enjoy the harbor and do a little shopping. Menu is huge with all of your favorite breakfast and lunch options. The coffee and latte options are plentiful and be sure to check the specialties. We ordered a breakfast burrito (a bit small), chocolate chip pancakes (large) and the pancake quesadilla!

Cute little retro diner right in the middle of town. A good size menu with daily specials. Reasonable prices and fast service. Their homemade corned beef hash is incredible!

If Greenport had a breakfast mascot, it'd be Crazy Beans. Quirky, cheeky, and full of personality -- just like the sailor-core-meets-Beauty-and-the-Beach décor inside. Think seafaring mermaids with a latte in hand. We were into it. We got a text when our table was ready, which gave us time to stroll around and even hit the thrift shop across the street before the brunch rush rolled in. Pro move. Amy had the lavender latte (hot) -- and it was delicious. Bonus points for the cute little espresso cups that made every sip feel fancy. Food-wise, we ordered the Picasso Breakfast, two eggs over easy, and a Benedict. Everything came out fast and hot. The Benedict was solid -- maybe better without the sausage, but that's just personal preference. The place was packed but the staff kept it moving. Service wasn't overly chatty, but they were efficient and got the job done with no fuss. Bottom line: if you're in Greenport and need breakfast with personality, Crazy Beans is worth the stop. We'll be back next time we're town-hopping with the fam.

Very fun and cute North Fork little diner. We needed breakfast on a Monday and this fit the bill. It gets very crowded and there is sometimes a wait. We waited about 30 mins and snagged seats at the counter. As you'd expect, the coffee is delicious and all served from unique, fun, adorable mugs! The breakfast itself was good. We were super hungry. They have breakfast cocktails but we had WAYYY too many the night before. The bill was reasonable, relative to where we were. The portions were great and the marble toast was the kicker!! Overall, loved! Will be back next time we're in the area.

Walked in a little after noon on a monday and they were packed. We only had to wait about five minutes for a table though which was great. It was extremely loud in there until the restaurant cleared out, it's a pretty small space. The food however was delicious. They have a huge menu selection and it's reasonably priced. None of the sandwiches come with any sides other than a pickle though so it could start to add up.

An old-fashioned diner with good food. Try the eggs, many styles, or hamburgers. Ymmmm!

We looked at the menu ahead of time and were excited by the pea salad with watermelon radish and the calamari with cherry peppers. Unfortunately the salad came out with regular radish (big difference from watermelon radish). Just tell us ahead of time and we'd change our order - they said after the fact that they are out of the watermelon radish (the toasted corn was also soggy - seemed bagged or made from frozen). The calamari was good but was missing the cherry peppers - instead they had what seemed like jarred banana peppers instead. Again, not what was on the menu. I guess we were just disappointed when we were changed $22 for each appetizer that wasn't what was described on the menu. This kind of stuff is just lazy to me - it's not hard to serve what's described on your menu and if something ran out, tell us - we'd change our order. I think we'll take a pause on Ellen's for now. I hope this is read and these easy small changes are made as we'd love to come back for what's described on the menu. Positive notes - appreciated the ambiance and the service was proficient, no issues with our server.

Why have I been walking past Alpina everytime I'm in Greenport?…read more Was it the dark atmosphere? Did I think I was getting just another American-German influenced restaurant with only brats and potato pancakes? Did I expect polka? The experience was actually slow and refined, without the white tablecloths. Alpina has German, Swiss, and slightly Northern Italian influenced cuisine, along with a selection of alcohols I was completely unfamiliar with... which made the experience feel full of new things. The most memorable food was actually one of the simplest. The chef prepared incredibly creamy, caramelized onions with a slight sauerkraut tang that was amazeballs. I told our waiter that I'd write him a love letter over it, and here I am! The pappardelle had shredded duck, cheese, and big, fun, chewy noodles that were satisfying to slurp. It just needed a dash of pepper to elevate it. The meat and cheese board included a few things I'd never tried before, and it was so good I was searching for a meat shop in Manhattan so we could buy them again. Portion sizes aren't huge for the price, but it was worth it to us. Don't be afraid of the dark entrance, the ligonberry on the menu, and ask the bartender about the connection between the giant copper gnome and penguin shaker gone rouge.
