Just had my first Crepe ever at Crazy Crepe in Selden. Staff friendly , service excellent , decor nice. Food. Being that I never had a Crepe before I really enjoyed it. Had the grilled cheese Crepe and really didn't know what to expect. Light fluffy , quality ingredients actually ate it in about 6 minutes. Nice sized portion did not feel stuffed at the end as I would in your local diner. So yep Crazy Crepe is on my list of Saturday morning breakfast stops while out an about. The only reason I did not give it a five star is because I usually reserve those for full service restaurants. I got more of a corporate vibe from this place. Walked into the crazy crepe on middle country road and had the oddest experience. The girl behind the counter was soo rude and mean and just downright miserable. I asked if she was ok and she just walked away from me leaving me standing there with my 7 year old son. Another girl came to take the rest of my order and the girl that walked away from me went to make my drinks. Like who would want to drink a drink that she's making at this point, I mentioned that to the new girl but she brushed me off like I was the weirdo. I've been to this location several times and will continue to do so. When I need something sweet, nothing is better than Nutella, so I'm obviously in love with "the crazy crepe" crepe. Only $6.95, I think that's a decent price for the size and ingredients inside and it's always delicious and nice, clean presentations when they deliver it to you. I bought my mother a gift card there so she'd have a reason to try and she absolutely loved it and cant stop talking about! Always friendly staff too which is nice. When my mom went to pay for her crepe with the gift card, she also had a $1 off coupon to which the lady at the cashier had said "oh, it's either the gift card or the coupon." Since when is a gift card anything like a coupon or special? She gave her the coupon with the gift card at the end, but still, it's a buck, give her a break. I'll try to keep it short. I'm no crepe-expert, but what I had today was truly quality. The clean interior offers a few 2 and 4-top tables as well as a lunch counter at the window, (should you want to gaze out at the ineffable beauty of Middle Country Road). There is a long counter where they display their salad items, and an even longer menuboard behind it with all the creations CCC's offers. My sole experience with crepes was during a Santacon where I ended up with Nutella all over my fake Santa beard, so this time I was careful to keep it out of my real Castro facewarmer and used the fork and knife like a civilized person. Being lunchtime, I went with the Buffalo Chicken Crepe (buffalo chicken, cheddar, bacon, blue cheese) and it was ready under 5 minutes. GOOD crepe! Enough to fill me up without feeling bloated, and for $10, it came with a side-salad which I always like. There are a few salad options, and a diverse smoothie menu, as well as a plethora of breakfast/savory/sweet crepes to choose from. A pair of people came in specifically for soup, and seemed really sad when it wasn't ready yet. Sorry soupophiles, but that is a good mark as far as I'm concerned - it shows that they're making things fresh! I'll have to come back to try the soup myself... The only thing I would change about this place is their hours - they state opening at 10A, which for me is usually way too late to be eating breakfast, and are open until 10P - which for me is usually way too late to be eating a crepe. This is a relatively new business, so I'm sure they'll figure out what works best for them. I think I know where I'll be going to lunch on the days when I have a few hours between classes - the free WiFi goes a long way to help with that decision! I just figured I'm not a fan or eating meat on a pancake essentially. So I moved onto the desert one Nutella with strawberries. There was far to few strawberries on it. And i just didnt like the overall taste. The nutella completely took over and I couldnt even taste the strawberries at all. Okay so there you have it. I did not like the food at all. It was such an odd pairing of tastes and the wrong amounts of ingredients lead to me not wanting to come back. Now the place, it was decorated really cute and the place is super clean. Full disclosure never had a crepe before so for having one for the first time today it was pretty darn good. Because it was my first time went in at about 3:00 and had the Club Crepe which is turkey, ham, bacon, tomato, ranch, and your choice of cheese mine was cheddar for $8.50 with a side salad and washed it down with a Strawberry Smoothie which had apples, scoop of ice cream, banana, strawberry, an non fat yogurt for $3.99. Now for the review on the whole the crepe was a very nice mix but as I read the ingredients that were in it, I would have wished for the bacon to be more pronounced and the tomatoes were not memorable again on the whole it was good. The smoothie was as good as any others that I have had and able to be drawn through the straw without passing out. Was greeted immediately by the staff who both were friendly, the order was taken and food was brought to the table which was a nice touch. While the experience on the whole was good, I think if they wanted to take it up a notch and they wanted my opinion it would be the following: They knew that it was my first time, yet I was not asked for what I "like" or suggested towards something that might be a safe bet. They have free Wi-Fi but it is password protected and I was carrying my iPad yet they did not volunteer to offer the password and I did not ask since Optimum was just about as strong. It took me a bit to order my crepe and when I did I then said it would take me a bit to decide what smoothie I would order, I figure at this time they would start on my crepe well no, the person waited for me to order the smoothie before they would start my crepe. On the plus they both were extremely friendly and checked in after the food was being eaten to assure that all was well. The place was very clean. I was really impressed that not only when I got in there was a table of 2 seated but then another table of 2 showed up and then after them another table of 2 showed up this all occurring after 3:30. In the end I think these guys when they figure out their "sweet" spot will and I hope find much success since they have been only open about a month I will revisit and re-review. Prior to the pandemic I did not care for this restaurant. I had tried it a few times (Dine-in and Delivery) and the quality was really poor. I did not return but a friend wanted to give it a try a few months back so I tagged along. I do not regret giving it another shot. I'm not sure what happened, but the quality is out of this world. The crepes are hot, fresh and delicious. This restaurant is also attached to a grilled cheese place and runs several other ghost kitchens as well, most of which I have ordered from, and every single one follows the same great standards. I went to the Crazy Crepe with my wife and got the Buffalo Chicken Crepe. It was great. The place is very clean the staff was nice and they have a big selection of Crepes and other stuff too for those of you that don't like Crepes because now I do. I will be going back again and I recommend this place to others. Crepelicious! Small but very clean cafe with an extensive menu on their blackboard. This place is an excellent place for breakfast, brunch or a light dinner, however not the place if you want a big meal. I tried the Banana and Nutella Crepe which was delectably done. No other fruit blends as good with this hazelnut chocolate like banana does and I gobbled my crepe in no time. No sharin' this yummy treat! The staff, from the girl behind the counter to the guys that cook the crepe, are very friendly and helpful and give this place a warm feel. Stopped in for the first time and enjoyed a savory crepe for a late dinner with my hubby. It was plenty to eat, tasty and satisfying. I love crepes and this place can really make a damn good crepe. Nutella, bananas, and strawberries...YUM! The crepes are descent size; they're actually quite large. This place offers a large variety of combination for crepes whether it is sweet or savory. I haven't tried any of the savory crepes, but it doesn't really interest me. Presentation is really nice. They don't just flop it on a plate and give it to you. Service is fantastic from my experience. The staff is friendly, helpful, and informative. They definitely aim to please. The serve Hampton Coffee Company here, which is pretty good local coffee. They used to serve that at Stony Brook University, so it reminds me of "the good ol' days". I usually go to this place at least once a week. The crepes are good and they have a wide selection of smoothies. The coffee is super delicious, however, I ordered a Nutella espresso yesterday and it was so hot I couldn't even drink it until I got home. I like to drink the coffee and eat the crepe at the same time. I wish the crepe itself were thinner, crispy, and less doughy. That's how I remember it when I was in Paris. read more
