Apparently at 5pm they had none of the chicken made, so I had to wait about 8 minutes. No big deal, I suppose. It happens. As im waiting, a person behind the counter wearing gloves and a hooded sweatshirt with a beer logo on it is in the food prep area sucking on what appears to be a fruit puree squeeze snack for children. She slurps it down, takes customers money, and prepares food all while im waiting. The arms of the hoodie keep slouching down and she keeps having to pull up her sleeves with her gloves. She does this and doesnt change her gloves once! Not even ONCE after touching all these things, switching stations, slurping her snack. I couldn't belive she was a regular employee with how disheveled she looked. Due to a concern with cross contamination, I discarded my food right after leaving. Not cool. I wont be returning for some time. They also had a very expensive POS computer and peripherals sitting in the lobby. No big deal, but I am suprised they didn't put them in the back after delivery. Someone could have easily walked out with the main pc unit. Very carefree people I suppose. I don't care anymore either now.

It's Salvadoran fusion, with curtido and a whole pupusa stuffed inside a tortilla! There's of course tender and flavorful beans and rice and some good quality grilled carne asada as well. The meat, in particular, is tender and completely trimmed of all fatty and gristly parts. It's a great preparation. The pupusa adds tons of sweet masa flavor. It's stuffed to the brim with cheese, including some that oozes out and griddles to create excellent caramelized portions. The crunchy curtido inside adds some crunch and some sweetness and acidity that just works so well with the rest of the ingredients. While they offer salsa on the side, it's not needed at all in this burrito; there's plenty of moisture and flavor. It's an interesting and inventive burrito, and is really delicious. (5/5) El Balcon certainly serves some delicious burritos! While on the expensive side, the portion size is easily large enough for two people. Now I like this little off the road burger and shake shack. Reminds me of Burger Beach Shacks in California. Friendly service, fast. Greasy onion burgers but just tasted good. People standing waiting for their orders keeping up with the popular trend of walk up food places. They are close to the National Tavern. Not enough parking during busy time which was of course when I was there.but was told people park on street and walk back just for "the burger." Will come back. Parking discourages me though as don't want to park a block away. read more
