We had a great time dining at this local favorite! We rolled in shortly after it opened at 8am. We didn't have to wait too long before being seated. Our wonderful waitress was enthusiastic about each of their offerings; her zeal was contagious! We ordered their daily special lemon raspberry soufflé pancake, lazy hash brown, and salmon rolled up omelette. We didn't order any drinks since we already had coffee from the Honolulu Coffee Experience earlier. The soufflé pancakes were very airy and light, though not warm. I've had similar experience at another place that offered soufflé pancakes; I think they have to make them ahead since I would imagine these fluffy cloud like cakes take a long time to cook since they cannot be rushed. The lemony coulis was zesty and lightly sweetened. My husband's savory smoked salmon omelette was lovely, and they were generous with salmon chunks and caramelized onions for filling. Hash brown was very well seasoned. Definitely moderately pricy but I guess that's all inflation. Interior was whimsical. I visited Cream Pot in Hawaii with my two daughters and two granddaughters. First red flags: no kids' menu, no liquor license, and everything is à la carte. I ordered the Rum French Toast ($27 "special"), which came with nothing but whipped cream and a few thin strawberry slices. I added bacon and hash browns to have with it. Unfortunately, the French toast had no rum flavor, the caramel was awful, the hash browns tasted freezer-burnt with no flavor, and the bacon was overcooked and tasted microwaved. One daughter's waffles were mushy, like they'd been frozen and reheated -- she couldn't eat them. The omelet was bland, and only the soufflé pancakes were edible (for the kids). Yes, the food looked gorgeous -- totally Instagram-worthy -- but taste was a huge letdown. The kicker? My sister ordered the strawberry soufflé pancakes and the beef stew omelette, and my mom got the French toast with hash browns and bacon. My sister and I also had lemonades. The bill was $180. At first, when they brought out the meal ticket they give the cooks, we thought it was $80 -- but it turned out to be $180. On top of that, they automatically added the tip without asking. For what we got, that price is insane. The service wasn't good, the food wasn't hot, and the flavors were terrible. The plates looked cute and "Instagram-worthy," but the taste did not match the presentation. I couldn't even finish my food, and I left hungry. Otherwise there's coffee, tea, and juice. Minus the refillable black coffee I do think the other coffee drinks where overpriced. The food items however were at a reasonable price point and what you expect nowadays and in Honolulu. My bf and I like to eat. Which is good for trying a lot of the menu even though it was just us two, probably not so good for my figure lol. Both soufflé pancakes we ordered were on the specials and both amazing and complemented each other... one was chocolate and rich while the other fruity and custardy... yum!! The ahi benny was also off the specials and was yum (want to recreate this dish at home!). The "bread" part was a compact rice that was fried into a a rice cake. Great greens, fresh fish. We started with a French onion soup which had great flavor though due to the bowl used didn't have as much of the crusty cheese on the edge as I usually love. The broth and onion ratio was perfect though! Service was friendly and attentive to start but also became difficult to get servers attention. I tried to love this place, but it's just not worth the price to be honest. The ambiance in cream pot is so lovely! It is a themed restaurant and the decor resembles folklore/cottage core. The setup inside is incredibly unique and they have the cutest mascot inside as well, which are the owners dogs (they are adorable!). The service itself was great, our servers were very kind and attentive. They ensured we were having a great time and were very accommodating. Unfortunately, I have to give this place 3 stars due to the lackluster in their food and the pricing of their food. I get it, we live in Hawai'i -- the cost of living is extremely high. However, if I am going to spend around $30-$35 on a dish, I am expecting it to be one of the best dishes of my trip. Unfortunately, it wasn't that. The food was a bit bland and lacked flavor. I got the Salmon eggs Benedict along with the fluffy pancakes. Both were decent, but I would not come back to this place for the food. It wasn't worth it to me. Overall, my experience in Cream Pot led me to write a review of 3 stars due to the missed opportunity in their food and pricing. The staff was very kind and helpful while placing orders and making sure we enjoyed everything. Some food came out later than others which was awkward but fine for us. I enjoyed my strawberry shake but something about the banana-caramel soufflé pancakes tasted off to me; it could have been the caramel and banana mix just wasn't for me. My mom and aunt really enjoyed the pancakes and appreciated how fluffy they were, but my friend and I thought they were fine. They have outdoor and indoor seating available. Wanting to sample a variety of items, I ordered a la carte. I wish the shrimp was available as a side item, but it wasn't, so I opted for the bacon,which was crispy and full of flavor. Yesterday we went to Cream Pot for a belated birthday for my friend. When standing outside in the line for our turn to be seated, the sun was beating down on us. It would be nice if there were a way they could cover that area while you wait because it could be a while until you get in like it did for us. Nonetheless, once we got seated we were inside so it was much cooler and we got refreshing drinks which also helped us cool down. Everything on the menu looked so good, so it was hard to choose. I really wanted the soufflé pancakes but didn't feel like it was a meal so I went with the omelette beef stew. And boy that was the best choice! It was a very generous portion, with the egg omelette, beef stew on the side and green salad. My friends got the banana soufflé, the special with the grass fed beef of rice cakes and a miso wasabi sauce, the regular omelette, and the salmon Benedict. We all really enjoyed our meals. The staff were all super friendly. The only reason why I feel like it deserves 3 stars is because they charged us way too much on tax and then we tipped off of that so we paid way more than we should've. I would come back, but just make sure our bill is correct before we leave next time. All in all, a very cutesy place with really cute decor. It says no pictures but one of the waiters was nice enough to take a picture of us right outside the restaurant. The food is very tasty which was a plus for me. We decided to sit outside and we were SO GLAD because inside was VERY NOISY. You could hear it whenever someone opened the door. Both my daughter and I commented that we would've been upset had we sat in there. Our waitress and I'm assuming the manager were extremely nice and attentive. Now to the food. Of COURSE the menu had changed from when I was last there. Instead of regular pancakes they now only serve soufflé pancakes. I ordered the banana ones with dark caramel sauce $26 or $27. My daughter ordered her meal ala carte from sides. Bacon, 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and hash browns. I think her meal ended up being close to mine in price. NOTHING came with the soufflé pancakes. I ordered coffee and there is a 1 time refill ONLY. Laughable. It didn't take a super long time for food to arrive. The soufflé pancakes were PERFECT soufflé pancakes. No real complaints outside of the price and disappointment of STILL not getting my breakfast fix. Not sure if I'll return again. However, if I do I'll make sure to check the menu. LOCATION Cream Pot is in the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel on Niu Street in Waikīkī. It's just off of Ala Wai, on the corner of the hotel. Make sure you get the driveway to the Monarch Hotel; otherwise, if you don't, you'll have to go around the block because Niu Street is one-way. The entrance to the restaurant is on the Ala Wai side. PARKING Parking is in the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel and free with Cream Pot validation. Street parking is also available along the Ala Wai. The restaurant is a walkable distance from most of the hotels in Waikiki. DECOR The decor here has a very European vibe and is very kitschy. The restaurant's interior is set up with wooden tables, black wire-back chairs, flowers, vases, porcelain pitchers, etc. The space they occupy is a little small but includes several tables in an outdoor patio. You can't see the sidewalk because they line the edge with substantial flower pots. MENU The menu features a variety of breakfast and brunch items such as crêpes, french toast, Belgian waffles, eggs, etc. Cream Pot also features a Daily Set Menu on a board located in front of the entrance on the hotel side. They are known for the soufflé pancakes, which you find in Japan. I decided to try the fresh strawberries with the strawberry coulis on the side. I'm not a fan of anything sweet, but the coulis was not oversweet; it just had the right amount of sweetness to add to the soufflé pancakes. The pancakes were very light and fluffy inside, which you expect of a soufflé pancake. To complete my meal, I added an iced latte as a drink. Overall I read a few reviews before I went to eat here, and one of the themes that recurred was the price of the food. It didn't surprise me because the prices are on par for it being in Waikīkī. I would come here again because there are other items that I would love to try. I didn't expect anything less from the service that was provided since this is in Waikīkī. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and is open from 8 am to 2 pm. We did get there around 9:00 am, and it took about 35 minutes to get seated. read more

I was recommended this place by my Yelper friend Marthie. Definitely worth the visit here, I probably would've never come here if it wasn't for her. Every dish was around $25. Yes it was a little steep and I didn't do my homework nor take any cash and was told this place is cash only. They do have an ATM outside the restaurant (which is on the inside by the exit). We also got a fresh squeezed OJ, which was $8 and you can get it without ice for $1 more which was probably the best dollar we've spent here. Tables were a mix of twos, threes, fours, and smack dab in the middle is the communal table that they put parties of two together , but sat every other seat. We chatted with a couple from Texas and their travel agent had recommended this place to them. After trying a bite or two of every dish, I would say the pancakes were my favorite. They're not dry, not raw and really fluffy. The omelette was done correctly, but the beef inside the stew was not fork tender. It has hints of red wine sauce that sort of cooked on a crock pot. The eggs benedict was good, but honestly I've had better. Their side frissee salad did knock it out of the park though. It was light, tangy and fresh to each bite. So yes, this place felt like one of those theme park places. If you have never been, you should come try it. Food is good, service was great. It did set us back $100 after tax and tip so it was not cheap as I could've probably fed a party of five with the same amount at Zippys. Thank goodness the other two people in our party was still sleeping. Heh. The bathroom is at the exit toward the right. Oh yes, the line starts outside at the corner of Ala Wai. I do not like the way Cream Pot charges a 20% service fee or that it goes to the owner, not the employees. A former worker said that cash tips left on the table disappear before the servers can get them. Maybe slip a tip directly to the server, if you want to tip on top of the 20% service fee. read more

Portions are super tiny. I usually give 25% tip or more if the service is good but when you add a 20% service fee, that is a total turn off. You just limit your servers to 20% because that's all they're getting now. I will never eat here again and will tell others about this BS read more
