It's the rare place that blends casual atmosphere, excellent food, and first rate service (thanks to server Max for tuning the TVs to Little League World Series for our son and handling ample changes and substitutions). Hostess with 5 inch fake eyelashes, worn jeans, sweatshirt and long unwashed fake red black hair didn't seat us where we wanted. Instead seated us under a loud speaker and hovered behind me on a sill right behind me with a coworker talking loudly. I told her and other lady I had no privacy and they didn't seem to care. My fiancé asked waitress and she moved us. She was good. Food was great. Small loud place. Bathrooms are mixed gender. I understand it's Ogunquit but not everyone is comfortable with that. read more

Unfortunately dinner was very disappointing. After a long day sightseeing we decided to have several appetizers for dinner (before going for ice cream). They were out of Tuna Crudo, which happens - no biggie, so we ordered the Shrimp Ceviche - it looked beautiful (see photo) however the taste was very much less impressive. It basically had no flavor. The Lobster Arancini were ok, there were large chunks of lobster in them. The aioli saved the flavor otherwise they were bland. Steamers were next and frankly they were inedible. Every single one was so sandy we were literally crunching as we ate. I've never before had steamers served in that color broth (see photo). When the waitress found out, she was very apologetic and immediately removed them from the bill and brought the dish back to show the kitchen. At this point my appetite was gone and I just wanted ice cream, so we called it quits. The cocktails were strong, no cutting corners in that department. read more

It's been a few weeks but I had to wrtite a review as we had two outstanding expereinces here. The first time we ate at the bar--the drinks were perfect and the food absolutely delicious. The second time we went with friends and had brunch and, once again, the food was fantastic. They give you large portions and the drinks we had (coffee with Frangellica) could not have been better.l Shout out to our waiter, Ulises. He had only been there a week but you never would have known it. After a day at the Ogunquit Beach, my wife and I required sustenance and drinks!!! We walked a quarter mile to the center of town and walked into two prime seats at the bar at Crew. We weren't really inside as all the windows and doors were open on the beautiful first day of July. Our bartender was Athena, who was working her THIRD shift in this landmark establishment. She was awesome, from Worcester, MA, not far from us, so we talked about home and how she liked it in Ogunquit. We had oysters, delicious! My wife loved the minionette. We had squash rings with onion aioli, very good. Also Cajun dusted haddock bites. They were very good, with a remoulade not much Cajun spice though. Made reservations online months ago and received multiple confirmation emails and text messages, only to show up and discover that they haven't been taking reservations for months, according to the hostess. We were still seated immediately and had our order for drinks, appetizers, and entrees taken at the same time. I stuck with water, however my boyfriend ordered "The Jungle Bird" off of the cocktail menu. That arrived promptly and he says it was very good. Isaiah Bennett was performing and we enjoyed listening to him. Definitely would see him perform again. About an hour after being seated, we still had not received our appetizer and no one had stopped by to offer my boyfriend another drink. In contrast, the table next to us had arrived 30 minutes after us and was already finishing their meal. Our waitress was seen waiting on other tables but still had not stopped back at our table to check in or give us an update. The hostess, whose name I did not get, took it upon herself to come check on us because she said she had noticed no one else was. Only at this point did our waitress come over and tell us that there had been some kind of "miscommunication" between herself and the bartender (who we later found out was also the manager). Still no ETA was given for our ever-elusive appetizer. At this point, we asked to speak with the manager. The manager came over and again said there had been some sort of miscommunication (we're still not so sure what the miscommunication could have been as the bartender/manager had no part in our order until this point) and that our food was coming right up. We finally received our appetizer maybe 10 minutes later. Still no offer to refresh my boyfriend's now empty glass, though. About 20 minutes after receiving our appetizer (and about an hour and a half after ordering), we received our food. My boyfriend ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, which he said was good. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was alright. It was around this point that the owner, who I believe was named Scott, came over and apologized to us for the "miscommunication". He made things right by comping our meal and finally offered to refresh my boyfriend's drink. The hostess also came by once or twice to check on us because our waitress was still mostly MIA. Overall, I would recommend visiting when they are not so busy. We had stopped by the day prior for lunch and had no issues, but we were also the only people there. Wow. Our food was amazing. I highly highly recommend the crème brûlée French toast and veggie fries. Both were outstanding. The owner is also very sweet. He happened to overhear we had a 45 minute wait for a table and he jumped into action and was able to get us seated In 5 minutes. I think the bread was made in house and it was killer. Really unfortunate experience. They had a singer in a small space with an amp turned all the way up. But maybe they wanted a party atmosphere. We would love to have partied, but we saw our waiter 3 times. At the greeting and when he served our drinks in 2 trips and the. took our order. Never again until we left. Owners and managers were at other tables near us. Not ours. We would have liked a few more rounds of drinks. But no one ever came to take our order. Blaming staff shortages? The room was really focused on a table of 27. Too bad. Could have been fun. Food was ok. Steak and cheese wontons were horribly greasy though. We stepped into Crew without a reservation on a Friday night and were quickly seated. They were setting up some tables and making space for live music. The space itself is moody, but coastal with dark walls and lots of white features and furniture. The neon sign is always a crowd pleaser. At our table we got a small menu with their options and drinks. I ordered a burger which came with two super juicy meat patties, lettuce, gooey melted cheese, and their Crew Sauce - which is fancy special sauce. Moral of the story: big hit. I liked the Caesar salad for the side. After a day of eating out I wanted some greens and it was refreshing. My fiancé ordered the garlic fries and honestly, I wish I could have gotten those too! Amazingly crispy and the perfect amount of garlic. I ordered a beer to go with my burger and though they had a decent mix of craft IPA beers they had one cider and zero sours - which is really what I wanted. Though I enjoyed my meal, I couldn't really talk to anyone at our table because the music was so loud. I was torn because the artist on that night was really good! Four of us went to dinner at Crew on Friday, 10/27. Our bill came to ~ $250 BEFORE I used two gift cards totaling $65. We had drinks and wings to start. My drink (a gin and tonic) was served wrong TWICE (no tonic, it was soda water) - I gave in and drank it. The wings were overcooked a bit, but edible. Two of us has fish and chips (which appeared bland and small portion of fish) and two of us had the lobster thermidor which was NOT lobster thermidor. It was hunks of lobster meat in a bowl of unknown mash. Maybe stuffing of some sort. Definitely had too much wine and almost no gruyere cheese and was not presented the way lobster thermidor is done. VERY poor. For $42, we could have done so much better food wise. It was hugely disappointing. The service was marginal (server did not understand the difference w/ tonic water vs soda water x2) although he was very nice. The atmosphere is OGT so that is a 10+ always! We will not return for any type of food (just too many good choices around, and less costly!!!!! We wasted money on that meal). We will, however, return to the bar for drinks only. My family came today for lunch. Super appreciate that they are open year round because anyone staying after November 1st knows that finding anything open before 4pm AND on a Monday is rarity. Staff was wonderful, owner Lee introduced himself and also helped clear plates while our waiter went over the drink menu and his favorites with us. Everyone was so kind, from the girl behind the bar all the way to the other patrons that chatted us up. We had a burger, chicken sandwich, croque monsieur, and a regular grilled cheese! All the food was wonderful and came with almost too many fries on the side!!! They also gave us a taste test of some new pork they will be adding to the menu in the upcoming week and it was great. Bar had a lot of craft draft beer choices (husband and dad happy) and cocktail choices (mom happy). And the inside was cozy and clean! Looks like on the weekends they do live entertainment which is definitely a plus. As my mom said, "sad bessies retired but Atleast we can still get warm comfort food and a stiff drink!". After a long day at the beach with 2 kids in tow we found this place to be very inviting and family friendly with a good menu and live music. Food came out quick from the kitchen and tasted great. Decided to stay for dessert for the kids and get a drink. Kids finished the dessert before drinks even came out. The owner earlier in the meal stopped by each table to greet the guests and was gracious for us to be there. When the kids started losing it and we knew our time was up we canceled the drinks and he immediately went into action acknowledging "they blew it". He found a coloring book for the kids and promptly got us drinks to finish out a great night. One of our first stops this year and what a great choice! We were a party of 6 that called ahead for a spot on the wait list . When we arrive some 45 min later as directed we were seated in a great spot. The staff were great , very accommodating on a busy night . Our starters, the pretzels and the corn crab dip were a delish beginning. We had the haddock, the salmon, croque monsieur along with the chowder and the shrimp ceviche. All perfect in presentation and taste! A great contemporary spin on some Maine classics. Horrid congested spot on the convergence of main streets. I gave it a year to improve, and now it is worse with surly servers and plenty of noise and a bunch of drunks hanging out. In the corner was a bandstand so it would be worse at night. Food was mediocre or worse with unripe tomatoes, overcooked hardboiled eggs and a rotten avocado in a salad. The obnoxious server took my credit card and never bothered to provide a receipt. The lunch with a salad and tea cost more than any lunches I had in Boston, Brunswick or Ogunquit during this trip, and the salad was not stellar or inventive or fresh. Head somewhere else. read more
