I came in on a Friday evening for a solo healthy dinner. The restaurant wasn't full as it was an hour or two before closing. The inside decor is really cute definitely insta worthy. There is also a coffee bar in the back left of the restaurant. They also serve baked goods and have a display for it. Once you order at the register you get a number and seat yourself. There's utensils and napkins at the table. The food here is really good everything made from scratch. I got the #2 dark meat chicken with salad, tabouleh quinoa, hummus, and garlic. The order also came with pita. It took some time to come out and when it did I realize they were most likely grilling the skewer to perfection. Soooo I go to a LOT of Mediterranean restaurants. I think I've had a falafel everywhere you can possibly have a falafel. My boyfriend and I are visiting Santa Monica and we just wanted ONE lazy night. We wanted to order food and rent a movie in our hotel. (Don't knock it until you try it... we were walking all day and didn't have lunch!) So anyway we ordered three meals for two people because we were THAT hungry. We ordered the falafel, salmon, and sirloin. All were so freaking delicious... even the salmon which I was nervous about. The rice was also amazing along with the dolmas (grape leaves), fries, and baba ganoush. The quinoa salad was just okay - I wouldn't get it again. The sauces were awesome too... spicy mayo, tzatziki, and tahini = A+ The ONLY thing satisfactory was that the delivery man forgot our utensils! I didn't come here by choice and was actually dragged by my roommate who swore it was amazing Mediterranean food and I hate to admit that he was right. The grilled salmon was simply perfection and seasoned beautifully. The garlic dipping sauce fits well with the seasoned fries and usually gobble that first followed by the salmon and rice. Really enjoyed my meal here! Met up with three friends for dinner here last Thursday around 7:30pm. The first thing I noticed was how aesthetically pleasing the interiors are (that wall was basically made for Instagram...which I quickly realized is pretty common for LA establishments haha). Service was very friendly, and didn't rush us to order when we were waiting for the other half of our group to arrive. You order and pay at the counter, and they bring your food to your table. I ordered the chicken kabob (dark meat) with a side of baba ganoush. Food arrived relatively quickly, and I was pretty blown away at how fresh and flavorful everything was! The chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. The baba ganoush was deliciously smoky and tasted great with the pita. The portion sizes were generous, and I was able to finish almost my entire plate feeling satisfied but not uncomfortably stuffed. Overall, a great fast casual spot for high quality, unpretentious food. Not quite fast food, but not quite a formal sit-down restaurant. It's just a happy medium where you can get a tasty meal at a reasonable price with a shorter wait time than a sit-down restaurant but a lot more comfort and ambience than a fast food joint. They also have a very extensive coffee/tea menu, so I imagine this is a popular spot to meet up with friends for a drink or just a solo work session as well. I first discovered Crimson when we had it catered from the Ocean Park location. We were happy to hear of the second location a few blocks from us. Crimson has never disappointed in terms of food and service. I love their gyros, kebabs, and the garlic sauce, yum! I ordered delivery via GrubHub today and the driver picked up the wrong order and dropped it off. Dalton and his staff were so pleasant to work with and he really went above and beyond to try to remedy this for us, even though they were completely faultless. We wanted to give this place to try and Mari, Must be Ella's counterpart when it comes to dumb and dumber. All the owner does is makes excuses for hiring useless people. This was delicious!!! I called my order in so I can't comment to much about the environment and what not. I will say upon entrance my first thoughts were clean, spacious, healthy and modern. Typical chill SAnta Monica Eatary! The cashiers were courteous and gave me my order right away.I was told it would be ready in 15 min . I arrived a bit before that and my order was ready. The person at the counter answered all our questions and even made some recommendations. Once your food is ready, they bring it to your table. Ours took around 15-20 minutes because we got the dark meat chicken kabob and the salmon kabob. The salmon and chicken were cooked perfectly--juicy and flavorful! I really loved the dolma, which were not too sour. We also got baba ganoush and the fries along with rice and a salad. Garlic dip had a good kick, but we really liked the spicy mayos with our fries. I was surprised by how good the fries were! In fact, all the components of the meal were solid and complemented each other well. There's also self serve water (flavored and plain). Taking up residence in what used to be Inotheke, Crimson is a classy yet casual looking place, keeping a bit of the design from before while adding a Instagrammable neon light to one of the walls. At Crimson, you'll find delicious Mediterranean foods from chicken kabobs to gyros to grilled salmon. It's priced about what you expect for Mediterranean in Santa Monica - perhaps a bit more than Sunnin given the pricing and number of sides offered. The lentil soup is tasty and a good start to the meal. Then after waiting 40 minutes, we received our entrees, even though the restaurant was moderately busy. Chicken kabobs were flavorful and moist and the gyro had a good combination of fixins. Probably wouldn't come back until they figure out how to get food to table in 10-15 min, but maybe worth ordering from if you order well in advance. read more

Knowing how much I LOVE their OP location, I really expected to give this location five stars. However, and this may be due to them still ironing out operations and processes, the service was really too slow to warrant a perfect review. We went in for a late lunch (almost 2 pm) because there was no line and barely anyone in the restaurant (i.e., we expected to get our food more quickly). Needless to say, we did not get our food quickly. Also I was charged for extra sauce that didn't come. However it was still the delicious food I always expect from Crimson, and the new location is clean and cute! The service, aside from being slooow, was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I will definitely come back as it is super close; I just wouldn't come if I was in a hurry. I guess this is in line with how I think of the OP location as well, since it is always PACKED!
