Don't walk, you gotta run and try this place!! All the dishes are Vietnamese fusion and nothing I've ever had before. It's one of a kind and they execute so well! It's so freakin good! Literally a flavor bomb in every bite! They have an extensive menu with so many unique dishes. It was hard to order one dish so we just had to order it all :) The Saltado was the best I've ever had! It was so bomb! The fries were somehow still crispy even though it's tossed in this delicious sauce! Meat was tender and melt in your mouth good! I also loved the burger! We cut pieces so we can all try the different dishes, and I kept cutting pieces of the burger! I've also been on a burger kick lately to try to find the best burger and this one is high up the list! It was surprisingly hot for a good 15 mins. The meat was well seasoned and the onion, cheese meat and sauce all blended so well. Little bit salty and a little bit sweet with the grill onions. The wings were also crispy with this nice sweet chili sauce! Cooked to perfection! I really liked the curry pho! It's a green curry with a little kick to it. They have quite a few different vegan options and this is a dish that can be made vegan. You can dip the Birria tacos in this pho consume which is so fire! It's so good you just want to drink it up lol I added some of their habenero hot sauce and it was just the perfect birria bites. The phorrito is pho filling wrapped in rice and fried! You gotta wash all these delicious meals down with a lychee peach tea! It hit the spot lol it was so refreshing with the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. This is a must try place if you're in the area!
Came in to get my cris & John fix, as it's been awhile. Probably over 3yrs. Sooo happy that they have a new spot because the old one, the wad not cutting it lol.. and honestly.. this one is pushing it too! There's multiple tables.. and there's even a few outside! but the hype is still there which means the line is still out of the door lol. I was privileged enough to get here before the line stretched outside, I'm also happy that they have this little waiting area.. it really helps the inside traffic. Ooo and if you're wondering if parking, yes! The parking got better.. there's over 100 spots
Food/Drinks: As it was my first time dining here, I thought that ordering something tried and true would be the best choice, so I ordered Pho with Rare Steak and Brisket. But the second I had a bite of my partner's Viet Shaking Beef Burrito, all bets were off--I was hooked on my first bite. It was as unconventional as it was tasty--even more so with the sauce they serve on the side--and everything married well together. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was pretty good, with a strong coffee taste, but not overwhelmingly sweet. Service: Unfortunately, our food went to the wrong table, and we were served an item we didn't order. But that's trivial--overall, service was alright. Food came out pretty quick, despite the rush. Also, one of the servers was kind enough to checked in on us and asked how everything was. Ambiance: Casual, cultural, eclectic. Parking: Ample parking. Located in a plaza.
I've been to Cris & John since they were at the original location. I've tried a lot of dishes from them, while some were bad (such as bo la lot), there are still some that are pretty good. This time, I got the Phorrito and the Angry pho with brisket, along with a horchata. The horchata was delicious and refreshing, it had a lot of cinnamon flavor but I wish the drink could be more creamy. The phorrito was great and I love the broth they gave on the side. I think it's a bit more concentrated than the regular broth they use for pho. The pho itself was good, it's not your traditional Viet pho you get outside, it's more of a fusion pho where the broth isn't clear at all. If you're coming here for the first time, I would recommend trying out the platters so that you could try out more food all at once!
Interesting Mexican twist on Vietnamese food, loved the decor and wall art. They had plenty of cool drinks to choose from. The dining experience was not so great the restaurant was and ordering food was difficult due to the how loud it was in there. We ordered several appetizers and they were okay they lacked the Vietnamese flavor. We ordered to pho-zoles, we excited we drove 3.5 hrs from Houston to experience this exciting dish. The meat in the soup was soft and tender and also got plenty of white maiz. The noodles weren't pho noodle we got ramen instead let down. Not what I ordered or expected. But none the less cool place definitely should try it.
So far looking at the pricing very accommodating especially for this economy that's a super plus !! The angry Pho definitely leaves up to its name. The soup with the combination of the tacos just makes everything pop!! Energetically, chaotic, fun space to come with family and friends. They even give you your own personal water jar. Definitely a 10/10 it's on Preston rd come check them out ! It's irresistible delicious // Man oh Man I'm telling you there Agua Frescas be heavenly refreshing the sweet and spicy wings that come on the platter the sweetness compensate the chicken how it's seared instead of meat and then you have the spice that gives you that kick off of that first juicy bite very tasty
Met up with some friends and was looking forward to trying something different. When I pulled up I was happy to see that they have a private parking lot with plenty of parking space. As I walked up I noticed that they have outside seating available (although with the pollen, today that wasn't even an option for me). As I got inside there was a nice little crowd and there was some confusion as to if we sit and order or order and sit however I caught the sign which let us know we order and sit and they bring the food to you. They have a lot of things on the menu to choose from and they even have platters which can feed multiple people. I went with the egg rolls, the potstickers, and the rice plate adding beef belly. The guy tried to talk me into the saltado de carne however I didn't want the fries, so I went with what I ordered. I also got a peach lychee drink. Found a seat and the food came quickly! The egg rolls were my least favorite as it lacked flavor for me. I love potstickers (Mandu), these were okay, however once I was looking for something besides soy sauce to dip them in. The saltado de carne reminded me of bulgogi however has some tomatoes, carrots, and cucumbers on the side. The rice was a little dry for me. My friend liked the peach lychee. For me it was sweet, where undiluted it with water. It also had chunks of I'm assuming lychee in the bottom (think boba). Overall it was a good meal. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. The place has a nice little vibe and I'd come back and try something else.
I had been wanting to come here for so long and i finally made it! I was worried there would be a long wait but there was not at all. We got there at 5:30 pm on Tuesday. You order your food up front then go sit down and they bring everything out to you. I didn't love having to order upfront and then sit down and that's mostly because the decision was really hard on what to order cause everything sounded and looked amazing. I will say the food all came out really quickly and they were really good about finding where all the food went. We ordered a bunch of different plate plates at my table and everything was so good. I ordered the Elote, sweet chili wings, and ginger chicken tostadas, as well as the vanilla cookie Matcha. I took home a lot of leftovers and everything reheated great. The ginger chicken was so juicy and flavorful. I loved how many fun drinks they had. I just wish there were some more options to customize them as far as sweetness levels and milk. The vibes are immaculate. The decor is adorable.
This was not what I expected. I say that because is was way better. So much variety and the flavors were amazing. The team there there was helpful with recommending stuff on my first visit. The seats are metal and no super comfortable, but it fits the atmosphere of street food and eating outside, so I wouldn't change a thing there. The places fills up by noon weekdays, so plan ahead. Important- "Angry" is their word for spicy, so if you don't like it spicy, don't choose anything with "angry" in the name or tell them to not make it "angry". :)
Throughout the years the quality and flavor of their food has definitely improved immensely! My favorite dish is still their pho-dilla (think pho quesadilla with melted cheese). I was surprised at how much flavor was in their Thai curry pho. Our group enjoyed that one. They're always coming up with new drinks and fusion dishes so I appreciate how there's always something new to try.
Came in at around 7 on a Friday and there was a line to the door! The line moved fairly quickly though but be prepared to wait to order/be seated (they seat you at the ordering booth). We got a platter and added the rajas egg rolls which were delicious!!!! The tamarind peach water was perfect too, not too sweet and the tamarind was not over powering. It was lively and bustling inside but with all the art and food it was a lovely experience. Plenty of vegan and halal options!!
Heard great things about this place and decided to do takeout for dinner. Their website and ordering process are very good. Arrived 5-10 min after my requested time and skipped the massive line (the place was buzzing with every table full and a long line at the order counter. The ambiance and vibe are super cute and fun! Will have to dine in one day). Order was ready and exactly as placed. We had the appetizer platter (love the fact they have multiple customizable platters so you can try lots of items), chicken phorito, several baos and tacos, and the noodles. Everything was tasty with some dishes being more unique in terms of tastes like the phorito and the baos. Noodles were standard. Would highly recommend but depending on when you go prepare to wait!
GREAT!!! Amazing fusion menu, with enough options for you and your entire extended family. I came on a whim a week or so ago, and nobody but poc in the place. That's how you KNNNOWW. I got a whole slew of items because I wanted to try it all and everything I got was amazing. The service team was supper welcoming and helped me understand the menu/order process with so much kindness. Also, the whole place has this colorful authentic and upbeat vibe. I want to know who was on aux because I was dancing in my seat the whole time I was there. Will 100% be returning.

I've heard of this place for years and I was SOOO excited to finally go! First off, definitely try to go during off-peak hours (ie lunch), I went on Friday at 6:30 and the line was out the door. We waited over an hour to get our food, with most of it being in the line. However, they make the food very quick after you order, and it was sooo worth it! They recently got a new location, and even if the line seems super long most of the time you'll find a seat if you wish to dine in. The interior is so inviting and you can really see the owner's heritage being proudly displayed in the restaurant. For food, I chose to get the birria baos and ube horchata. The birria baos were SOOO good. I was afraid the baos would turn out greasy/super oily, but they were a perfect texture. The angry pho was an amazing complement to the baos, the baos soaked up the pho really well! If you have a large appetite I'd maybe ask to get a larger bowl of angry pho to finish after the baos! Beware as if you have a really low spice tolerance it might be too much, though I have a low tolerance and thought it was fine. The ube horchata drink was amazing as well! It didn't seem overly sweet and the two flavors really complement each other well. I hope to come back in the future, there's a few menu items that I'd really love to try!! read more

If there was a "last meal" category, this place would be at the top of the list. It is rare where you have an existential experience eating food, but this place is it! Wait was crazy... like 2 hours at 1:00 on a Friday. Can't knock them too much for that but I think they may be ready for expansion. They were running things as efficiently as possible. I like that they were managing tables to make sure everyone got a seat. Food was delicious. Phorrito and wings were my favorites. Everything is super flavorful so I don't think you can go wrong. read more

Definitely worth a visit for how well executed their fusion dishes are! Overall, food is incredibly flavorful but also very heavy - not something I would eat often. Arrived at 10:50 AM on a Sunday and got seating right away! I came in a skeptic but their phorrito was delicious, truly did capture the essence of pho in a burrito. We got the beef belly banh mi and the phorrito/birria plate - feeds 3 though they say 2, comes with their angry pho dipping broth which is oily but good flavor. Landed in Dallas and had 1 free night. Typically, that's reserved for a pho outing but I saw this fusion restaurant that I wanted to try. It's a fast casual joint. Order at the front and find a table. Food will be delivered to you. Ordered the phorrito and ramenritto with the angry pho and a chicken skewer. The highlight was definitely the phorrito. Surprisingly, it does taste like pho inside a spring roll wrap. The angry pho was delicious but a tad oily. The ramenritto was also good and the chicken skewer was juicy but fairly common. A little hidden gem that fuses Mexican and Vietnamese food. A match made in heaven honestly. The dishes are going to feel like a Frankenstein creation, from ramenrritos to carne asada bao buns. But anything you get is going to be delicious. A must try in Dallas. read more
This place is BUSY on weekends. The staff is extremely helpful and nice considering how packed the restaurant gets. Inside is clean + well designed but not nearly enough space for how busy they can get. Food was all interesting fusion style. Flavors are definitely there but it's a bit on the salty side. The pho and ramen burritos were great in bringing out the flavors you would expect in their respective bowl forms. Personal favorite was probably the sweet chili wings. Despite me coming at peak dinner time and waiting 40 mins, the workers were efficient, food came out hot, and the seating area was so clean. We got the weekly special platter ($30) and churronada with Thai tea ($8) to share. The drink was soo good and you have to specify which type of topping you want or else they'll give you the default coffee jelly. All the food was seasoned so well; from the pho burrito to tacos. The spring rolls and skewers were on the dry side but I'm assuming it's because of the dinner rush. I'd recommend this business to give out more utensils/napkins and for people to come here during off hours or carpool. The parking lot is extremely limited, but even with the long wait time- the food here is well worth it at the price point. read more

We finally made it in, and can finally understand the hype! We actually tried to go once before, right when they opened on a weekend, and the line (understandably) was packed out the door along the sidewalk! We decided to try and come in during the weekday for lunch and were still met with a (smaller) line to order - it took approximately 15-20 min to order at the counter. They offer several sampler platters and we tried the Angry Pho Birria Platter. The angry pho was greasy (similar to Birria grease) preventing me from enjoying the pho soup, but the flavor and noodles were incredible. The Birria tacos were some of the best I've had in Dallas, too! Seating is limited and we were glad we came when we did, but I'd imagine seating could be an issue during their busier times. Seating is not comfortable here and the food was not exactly what I was expecting. Their menu is creative and maybe I ordered the wrong items. The ramenritto was my least favorite, it tasted like five spice and didn't really have that Vietnamese flavor. The French fries were crunchy but the kimchi was not good. The tacos were good and I enjoyed the broth to dip the tacos- I knew this would be greasy, it was good. We also ordered the salad bowl but it was difficult to eat in the bowl it was served in- because the seating is tight, it was a little difficult to enjoy the food. read more
The reviews for this place definitely drew us in. We love pho and so any twist on that item had us intrigued. We arrived to a long line about an hour after they opened on a Sunday. However the line moved very quick. They have a system where you order your food and then you are able to sit at a table. For it to be so crowded though there was always a table ready for a party right after they ordered. The space was clean and the decor in the restaurant were definitely a vibe! We loved the signs throughout. We ordered a phorrito (with the spicy chili tofu) and the veggie angry pho. We also had a lemonade that was great. The pictures on the menu really helped! Overall the food was terrific! The phorrito was unique but it had great flavor. We were heat it and at first because we didn't know how we felt about a tortilla with pho noodles but it was actually the perfect combo! Definitely well seasoned and a good amount of sauces which was great. The pho itself was also delicious. The angry broth wasn't your typical pho broth, but super good nonetheless. The only complaint we had was it the broth was a little more greasy that we would have expected for pho broth. Cris and John was one of my most highly anticipated restaurants to try! I came for dinner on a Sunday, and the line out the door was moving so slowly that we decided to go elsewhere. I decided to try again for lunch today, and despite coming around 1:40pm, the line was even longer. Negatives: -Parking is horrible. The lot is incredibly tight and it is difficult to find a spot, especially with so many people circling around to grab one -They take their sweet time checking people out at the counter - today, we watched two ladies talk to the cashier for over 5 minutes as everyone else waited in line to order! -At exactly 2:15pm, every order becomes a takeout order (despite them closing at 3pm). We were told our food would be ready in 20/25 minutes and to expect a call as they asked us to wait in our car instead of at a table. We never got a call and after waiting for more than 30 minutes, we had to go in and ask for our food. It must have been sitting there, forgotten about for a while because it was not hot when we opened it. -We requested jalapeños on the side (instead of on top) with our fries, and this was never added -The food was very messy. The broth container was soaked in the broth and got all over the plastic bag and our hands Positives: -The food was AMAZING. I can't possibly describe how good it was, but definitely in my top 3 restaurants of the year. So flavorful, creative, and delicious -Lots of options for vegans and vegetarians -Pretty affordable considering how large the portions are Unfortunately, despite all the negatives I will have to return because I can't stop thinking about this food! I had the street fries and the ramenritto with tofu. I will try to go during the week and see if the line is more bearable - it's tough, especially in the Texas heat!! read more

There are only a few priceless things in life and one of those things is a good family experience. I'm forever thankful to Cris and John for the imprinted memory of amazing food with my family. This Viet-Mexican street food restaurant provides a packed menu with a packed house of people who can't get enough. The atmosphere gave me a dark bar vibe. Filled wall to wall with people. We ordered the crispy burrito, Bao buns, and birria tacos. All were fire. So much so that I would have tried the entire menu had I not been full. They have a parking lot which was key for me, being from LA. I recommend that if you make a trip to go, please show up early as possible. Don't go near closing time or busy hours. The staff was so kind to communicate instructions with the patrons because of the rush. The line was out the door and the wait time was about an hour. All in all, nothing but good things to say about Cris and John. Whatever they're doing it's working. Would love to see them expand! read more
I can now say I understand the hype. This food was fresh and delicious. From the tacos to the wings to the fries. I am so happy we finally stopped by. My favorite were the Birria tacos and the pho burrito. I have told so many people about this restaurant because it is that good! The servers were fast and helped us get everything. Expect a long wait. We came here Sunday at 4:45pm and there was already a long line. We got to order around 5:40 and sat down and ate within 10 minutes. The food comes out pretty quick for how busy it was. I was a fan of the phoritto. The bao was okay for me. The Vietnamese rice paper was a lot and can get messy to it. The pho burger was what I really wanted to try and was hoping there was some pho flavor but it was lacking. It's a good try if you're in Dallas but the wait may be deterring.
