I have been really skeptical of all HVAC companies in the past 5 years. I have been burned by so many HVAC techs and wasted so much money. 4 different companies went through with different shadiness levels giving me different answers for the same HVAC issue. Every company kept telling me my freon was low and i most likely had a leak. One company even told me to just replace my brand new system cause "it was from China" The Jaguar tech (Jeff) definitely gave me some disappointed head shakes at previous work but was the only one to truly put his head down, work, and diagnose the root cause of the issue. He checked every part of the system before he gave me an answer on what he believed was wrong. After the diagnosis he detailed every part of the HVAC unit (and attic unit) and explained to me what he was looking for, what he found, and what he believed was the answer. I never felt like he was up-selling me. It wasn't even a freon issue to begin with and the filter drier needed to be replaced. After another visit and a 4 hour procedure my HVAC unit has been running smoothly all Summer 2026. I will seriously only call this company from now on.

They sent Thomas out to take a look, he was very up front about the condition of the unit and advised that there was alot of issues, which we totally get. He was very thorough and took a lot of reference photos and explained what he was doing. We agreed to look at getting a new system and set up a meeting with Kyle for later the afternoon. Kyle was also amazing and went over the pricing and options, you never want to pay for a new AC unit but it's a necessity here so and they made sure we had a great deal. They were quick to take my money and install it but failed to install it correctly by finishing it with a final inspection with the city as agreed on our receipt. Its been 5 years that I've attempted to reach out to RPM and all I get is "we are to busy continue waiting". This is not ok! They even mentioned installing a light in attic due to new regulations and they have yet to come back.

Unfortunately, to further troubleshoot they would have had to open the engine, a bit time consuming and a costly repair if the piston components were damaged. The news was unfortunate but I just wanted an honest assessment rather than just shotgunning parts like the last shop that tried to troubleshoot the issue.

We had a really great experience with Chronus Heating & Air over Memorial Day weekend. From the first phone call to the final diagnostic, everything was smooth, responsive, and easy. They were able to get us a same-day appointment, which we honestly didn't expect during a busy holiday weekend and heat wave. We also have a baby at home and were starting to worry about his room getting too warm, so getting everything fixed quickly was a huge relief. Our technician, Alex, was awesome. Super friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and very thorough the whole time. He even wore protective boot covers inside the house, which we really appreciated. Alex quickly figured out the issue and explained that our capacitor had failed, so power wasn't properly reaching the condenser. He walked us through everything in a way that was easy to understand and showed us exactly what was going on. Once we approved the repair, he replaced the part quickly and kept running additional checks to make sure everything was working properly. He checked the refrigerant levels, made sure both cooling zones were working correctly, and even came inside to measure the temperature difference between the return and supply vents to confirm the system was cooling like it should. Overall, we were really happy with the experience and would absolutely recommend both Chronus and Alex specifically. We recently hired Cronus HVAC to install a third zone in our home to make the master bathroom more comfortable for my wife, and the results have been beyond my expectations. From the very beginning, they completely set themselves apart from the competition. Other companies I called had little to no experience with adding zones and just tried to push me into buying an entirely new system, instead of adding zones. Alex, on the other hand, actually listened to what I needed. He came up with a brilliant solution that works perfectly with our existing system, while also ensuring it is future-proof for when we eventually upgrade to a variable-speed system. Last year my home AC started to have issues cooling the house down and would run constantly. I had another company come out and they diagnosed I most likely had a minor leak in the evaporator coils as they had to add 5 pounds of refrigerant.....they checked the outside unit but did not check the evaporator coils upstairs. Their recommendation was to just add refrigerant every year as needed as the other option they presented was to just replace the entire system which would cost upwards of $20,000. I had the same issue this year and called Cronus Service based on the reviews left by other customers. Alex showed up the same day and diagnosed the problem. He checked the system and found it to be completely empty of refrigerant. Alex went up into the house and found the leak in the evaporator coils easily. He showed me pictures and stated it could be repaired without having to replace the entire system. In a few days Ivan and Alex came back and replaced the evaporator coils, added refrigerant and tested the system which is now working perfectly! This company is professional and they know what they are doing! I highly recommend them and will only use them for any future services. read more

Prior to this, I had my AC inspected by a maintenance expert I've relied on for years. He replaced the motor, but my AC remained ineffective at cooling and the coils would excessively get frosty. Given the scorching summer, I needed a professional intervention. Sergei arrived punctually, as promised. He meticulously inspected and diagnosed the issue. Firstly, it was evident that my AC was severely dirty and in dire need of cleaning. Secondly, the previously replaced motor was incorrect. Sergei provided the cost of the proper motor but committed to finding a more affordable option for me. The technician, Alex, was very professional, very respectful of keeping things clean, provided different possible solutions, and the estimated price of those solutions. As we discussed the solutions and I decided on what I think was my best option I was giving a quote up front before any work was started. I was given a very high level of confidence in Alex's capabilities based on our interactions. Alex fixed my refrigerator as quoted, and especially to my satisfaction, demonstrated the refrigerator was operating as required, and cleaned up the work area and refrigerator to look better than when he started. My AC stopped blowing cold air yesterday morning. After looking at different HVAC companies and their reviews. I called Cronus first thing this morning and luckily, they were able to get someone out here by 11. I got a text message from the company about an hour before the appointment letting me know that Ion D is on their way. He showed up and checked everything. Very respectful and very honest. Come to find out my capacitor broke. He suggested that it get replaced as well as getting the maintenance package and he showed me that the coil was completely covered. The technician was on time, and conducted a free diagnosis. He identified the problem quickly and explained what was going on. I understood and it made sense. He gave me a written estimate on my phone and I agreed to the service. He ordered the parts and came back in a couple days to make the repairs, which were a circuit breaker and a capacitor on my condenser unit. Since, I wasn't home when he made the repairs he took pictures of everything, without me even making a request for them, and sent them to my phone. I had a great experience with Cronus! My heater went out overnight, so I called them at 8 AM, and they were able to come out that same afternoon to diagnose and repair it. I had the pleasure of working with Vald twice over the years. Both times he did an excellent job! Not only did he fix the problem quickly, but the same issue had never happened again over the years! This is a "wow" review. I sent in a "Yelp request" for HVAC service Saturday at Noon, hoping to get an appointment for the following week. Within 5 minutes, they reached out to me, and said they had a guy out already near my house. Alex came a few hours later, and he worked on my A/C for 6 hours to get it running, but get it running he did! Thank you, Alex! After 5 years of breathing terrible fumes every summer from my new unit, He CARED ENOUGH to REALLY troubleshoot my specific issue and not just sweep it under the rug!! I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.
