We both had a sandwich - I can't recall the name buy it was definitely a great reason to come back. The staff is super friendly and the environment is spotless. I visited Crooked Tree a couple of months ago for a breakfast date. I was happy to see something stay awhile in this location, it seems jinxed... There wasn't a big crowd and we were seated immediately. Sadly, the experience wasn't very memorable. I don't remember being displeased, I had the Smokey Scramble and I believe I liked it. I also think they had rather large biscuits, always a plus when they're good! However, I did have to order the biscuit a la carte, and that's kind of crazy to me. It's the South - a biscuit or toast should come with a meal for $9.50... I also remember that we waited awhile for our drinks. I really wish the decor was more cohesive. It's as though the owners delighted in having the skeleton of a restaurant to move right into and then just decorated it to appear Southern and quaint. But because they didn't change the bones of the place, there isn't a lot to experience with the meal. I think getting rid of the generic booths and tables, and adding furnishings that go along with their Southern whimsy vibe would go a long way in making the experience more memorable. Something as small as Mason jar glasses instead of the huge plastic tumblers from the restaurant supply would help! read more

We visited this restaurant based on the great reviews. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. While the food tasted ok, it wasn't anything special. Our server was alright, however the service was unacceptably slow. Supposedly they were down a chef, who knows, it was awful. We ordered extra toast, paid for it, and never received it. After waiting 20 minutes for it because it was "on the stove", we left without getting the toast. If the toast was on the stove for 20 minutes, I don't want to eat that anyway. We thought we'd try this place for brunch which turned into lunch. Wait time was reasonable 15-20 minutes. Wait time til food arrived...another 30 minutes, maybe more. Maybe because they were short of helping because they didn't fill up all the tables. Food: well, I had a Smokey scramble and my partner had the house breakfast. I ordered my scramble with brisket- hmmm, I think I'll forgo the boiled brisket next time. It was scrambled into the eggs and was so copious I could hardly find the three scrambled eggs. The eggs were delicious. I'm not so sure about those grits. I like the course texture but the bay leaf over tones just doesn't hit my fancy. Homemade jam is to die for on the toast. Coffee is also very nice. The bacon on the house breakfast was "the best I've had in a long time"! Eggs were nicely scrambled and grits were not appreciated. Price overall is reasonable for homemade everything and and an ambiance that is warm and friendly. We went for a second breakfast this past Monday. Quite honestly it wasn't outstanding. My kids and I decided to check this place out for the first time on Mother's Day. Of course the wait was long, which we expected, but the staff was very kind and really made every effort to seat people as quickly as possible. We will go back on a non holiday to see if the wait is shorter. There is indoor and outdoor seating, although we were attacked by a swarm of ants and several tables asked to be moved indoors. That could be a seasonal issue but should be noted. Parking lot has lots of spaces. We ordered a variety of dishes: biscuits and sausage gravy, smoky scramble, pancakes, breakfast wrap, and the cinnamon roll bread pudding. For the most part, we enjoyed everything -it was very simple, clean, fresh tasting food. Not outstanding but very good. The bread pudding, however, was incredible, so I will be trying to get my hands on that again. The breakfast wrap should have spinach mixed in with the eggs instead of it being fresh because everything slides out against the surface of the spinach. I would've enjoyed it more if it were all mixed together and then wrapped up in the tortilla. (jus sayin) It is definitely better than a lot of the breakfast franchises we have in the area, so I highly recommend it if you want to try something different. It is a family owned business and has a very casual, welcoming feel. The hostess was super sweet and had a great smile on her face when everyone arrived. Definitely want to update my last review. It has been quite some time and thought I would give another chance. Other than the outside appearance which needs some help and TLC the inside looks great still. The bathrooms were not super clean, even my 6 year old commented on the bathroom lack of cleanliness. However, the meals and the staff this time were much improved. Sure my eggs were ordered over medium and I got then over easy, but that is somewhat minor. The food was really good this time. I had the brisket hash. The pineapple jelly was good. Both my kids liked the food, which is hard to come by with those two as they are both a pain in the ass when it comes to eating out. So this time around, I will give it 3 stars. The staff was the real thing to mention here. Our server and host were really good. I wish they would freshen up the outside and signs to make the curb appeal a bit better. But all in all, I do think I will come back. The price is right here too. If it were any more, I would have stuck with a 2 but everything seemed pretty good this time. I would have the bathrooms smelling and looking clean especially during covid times. read more

They serve made to order breakfast items such as pancakes, biscuits with country gravy, eggs, and more. They even make an assortment of different jams. Also, if you are not a breakfast type of person they do have a limited lunch menu, burgers ect. Only downside is the wait time. If you go on the weekend do expect a 30-45 min wait. read more

Best breakfast I've had in a while. Simple dishes served by attentive local crew. Today we had pineapple and strawberry jams with our biscuits. The biscuits were fluffy, hot and jams were absolutely delish. Also ordered a breakfast style biscuit with meat, eggs and cheese- served hot and savory. Banana pancake was fluffy and served with powdered sugar and a sweet banana purée topping. The roasted potatoes had a good seasoning and were cooked through with a nice crunch on the outside. I really wanted to try the food here because of the many good reviews. I was in the area so was glad to finally get a chance. I came in about 11:00 AM for a late breakfast and was the only patron when I came in. A friendly waiter took my order and brought coffee. I waited maybe 10 or 15 minutes and he brought a refill. He then notified me that they were doing maintenance in their kitchen so there would be a delay in preparing my meal (I just ordered a basic egg breakfast). I said I needed to get out of there in about 15 minutes. He said it would probably be longer than that. I left without getting my breakfast. This doesn't seem like a good way to run the business--they basically closed their operations without posting any sign or even telling their waiter. I wasted a good portion of my morning coming to this place and waiting. Why couldn't they at least have posted a sign that they were closed rather than let someone in, take his order and have him wait 15 minutes before telling him the kitchen was closed? read more

This place is always great for the crooked tree breakfast, but today I deviated and had the vegetable hash with fried eggs of course I had the mandatory pancake with no powdered sugar and cooked brown. But the vegetable hash was a little disappointing. I was imagining big chunky vegetables with potatoes like mushrooms, toms, onions, peppers and instead what I got was green beans, collard greens, 1 piece of pepper, 1 mushroom, 2 pieces of onion and 3 potatoes. This place. THIS place! A hidden-in-plain-sight and unassuming gem in Marietta. I have passed by several times for months and kept forgetting to check it out. A friend and I wanted to try a new place for breakfast and I'm so glad we did. Their menu is perfect. Not too large, but with enough of a selection to please just about everyone. My friend having to deal with a low fat diet and me having to begrudgingly survive a vegetarian diet, makes restaurant selection difficult. But this place is now our go-to for breakfast. Their vegetable hash with eggs is hands-down the best breakfast item I've ever had. No. Joke. It comes with red pepper jelly that is not too spicy, works really well with savory items, and it not too sweet. My friend got his with eggs whites and a side of chicken sausage. Folks, chicken sausage is on the menu. He said it was, and I quote, "off the chain." They serve cool beans coffee which is not only the best in the area but shows that they focus on supporting the local economy. Bonus points!! The staff is super friendly and know the menu well enough to offer suggestions for different diets. Oh, and they make their own jellies and they are amazing. You've got to try this place out. What a delicious little breakfast spot on Cobb Parkway North! It's a smaller place, so if you get there late, you may have a short wait. But the smokey scramble and other breakfast items are certainly worth the wait! And the wait is short compared to some other local breakfast spots in the area. Make sure to order a biscuit with whatever you get so you can try their homemade jellies and jams! It's always fresh and different (the last time we went we had 1 pineapple and 1 strawberry jam - YUM!). When we first walked in unfortunately our host was rude we requested a seat outside and were denied most likely due to short staff so that much we understood. After about 15 minutes we were sat and what seemed like a uncomfortable spot that most people would not want to eat by but we sat and ate our food nevertheless the service however was much more underwhelming than anticipated. It was not that our server was rude however they were very short with us and seemed to be the least bit of interested in trying to understand us as consumers i.e. if we requested that our eggs be sunny side up and asked if they had any other condiments to offer they would roll there eyes never bring it and then when we reminded them they look surprised and annoyed that we even remembered. My order was the signature brown sugar nut and white chocolate pancakes while my girlfriend ordered the Horchata French toast and chicken chorizo. The food was absolutely delicious on my end however they used maple syrup and I'm used to syrup with more of a high fructose so it sticks and isn't as runny. The lack of options was a little disappointing on the other hand. Because none of the food was described to us we had to go on a limb of what exactly we were ordering yes we know the menu was there but the lack of server knowledge or lack of care in informing us was a bit unfortunate so for anybody who has particular allergies they most likely will not inform you of what the food contains. My girlfriend's chicken chorizo was delicious she thoroughly enjoyed it however felt as if the Horchata French toast was underwhelming and lacking in flavor they also used old over cooked rice with sugar and water to make that flavor instead of a rice pudding. They also do the card scanning on a square right in front of you which makes customer discretion null and void so if you were expecting to tip later or even have your card scanned to have a small conversation they take away that whole element. All in all we may have just had an unfortunately bad experience with service which takes away from the potential of how good the food was we may come back and try again and here's hoping that it's much better. read more

Today I was looking for a good breakfast joint while traveling in between work locations and found the Crooked Tree Cafe on Yelp...looking over the reviews I quickly made my decision. One warning pay attention because this could be easy to miss along the road. Walking in we were immediately greeted by our server and escorted to our booth. One requirement for me at a diner or breakfast/lunch spot is to nail some good coffee. This is unfortunately a way some places like to cut corners, but you have to get this right. Well Crooked Tree gets this right and another thing I like is they have the full gamete. This to me shows they truly care about their customers. Places that only serve sugar and sweet n low need to get with the times....hello this is 2016 people in the most part have move away from the pink packets. Looking over the menu I decided on the mushroom scramble add the chicken sausage. My co-worker got the homemade biscuits and sausage gravy. After a very short wait our food came out. Have to say this place was perfect in every aspect. My scramble had great flavors and everything was so delicious. I would have to judge my co worker by the fact he cleaned his plate and if not rude he would've licked the plate clean. While at lunch we got into an interesting discussion about how companies, retailers, restaurants etc and how they lost their way. The reason this came up is we both agreed it's a simple formula deliver consistent good food+ great service and people keep coming back.
