I finally decided to stop in and see what the hype was about, because this place is always packed…read more Like, "drive by and immediately keep driving because it's too busy" packed. Curiosity eventually won, and I'm glad it did. First off, the place itself is on the smaller side, maybe around 15 tables plus a bar top, but it's well organized and efficient. You're immediately greeted by an employee who asks how many are in your party, and before you know it, you're seated with a menu and water in hand. Smooth operation so far. I went all in and ordered the red velvet waffles (because obviously), paired with a milkshake, and my partner ordered the corned beef hash. The wait time was about 20-25 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how full the place was. When the food arrived, it was clear why people keep coming back, the portions are generous and easily shareable. The red velvet waffles were amazing. Rich, fluffy, and absolutely worth the order. The corned beef hash was clearly made from scratch, you could tell the corned beef was hand-cut, along with the potatoes and peppers. No mystery meat here. It's served with crispy hash browns and an egg cooked however you like, which is exactly how it should be. Service was great too, super friendly, genuinely nice, and very on top of things. You can tell this place has been around for a while because the staff all seem to have their rhythm down. There's a groove, and it works. All in all, this is a solid spot for breakfast or lunch, and now I understand why it's always busy. Just one important note: they're closed on Tuesdays, so plan accordingly. Enjoy!

Our waitress was very sweet, and as far as I could tell, the only one serving tables, so service was a bit slower. Food was tasty and just what you would expect for diner food. Prices and portions were great as well. Around $43 for everything ordered (food is pictured). Definitely would come back for a nice and relaxing breakfast.

I got here at 11 and there was a line if 10 people with every table full. The line doe move quick, but be prepared to eat outside (or take it to go) during peak times. I got the smashwich and fruity pebbles rice krispy. We also got the matcha shokupan donut to share. Everything was excellent. The house made sausage patty on the smashwich complemented the whole sandwich well; it was crispy, fatty with amazing flavor. Pro tip if you have the passport app you can save 20% off! Only downside - I think their space is somewhat awkward for seating and overall flow. However they are doing what they can with what they have so it's not a knock on them per se, just putting it out there that the flow is a little off especially when busy.

The biscuit was good but I wish they gave you the option to warm it up. The rice krispie s'mores was not too sweet and the density was just right. I wish they did smaller sizes so you could try the different flavors or a smaller option. The brown butter bourbon latte had just the right amount of carmely, richness to it. I wish the service was more consistent. The first cashier seemed upset and wasn't very friendly. The second when I ordered coffee was much more pleasant.

Nice neighborhood breakfast spot near Renton/Issaquah - traditional American style breakfast food…read moreand vibes Food: I had the chicken fried steak which also came with hash browns, 2 eggs, and a choice of toast/english muffin/biscuit. Everything was cooked well and I personally didn't think the chicken steak was super heavy. Service/Ambiance: Staff here is very friendly but move at the fast pace you would expect for a traditional breakfast/diner style. The restaurant also has some fun decorations. Everything you would needs for your meal (salt/pepper/hot sauce/half & half for coffee) is readily available at each table which was nice. Note: We've been here a few times now, and it does get packed on the weekends so prepare for a bit of a wait!

My husband and I were looking for a brunch spot in the area and came across this place. We hadn't…read moretried it before, but some friends had mentioned they'd been wanting to check it out too, so we decided to give it a go. I'll be honest--the service felt a bit odd when we first walked in. We were told we could wait a while to get seated at the dinning area or that we could seat ourselves at the bar. Since it was our first time, I wasn't sure if that meant the actual bar counter or tables in the bar area. When I asked for clarification, there was a bit of an awkward pause before someone finally explained we could sit at a table in the bar section. That said, once we got settled, the experience improved. The server who took care of us was very kind and attentive. I ordered my usual go-to at breakfast spots: chicken fried steak with a biscuit. It was really good--definitely hearty and comforting without being overly greasy. That said, it is a heavy meal (fried food plus gravy), so be prepared for a post-brunch nap. The biscuit looked a little underwhelming at first, but it actually tasted great. The overall vibe of the place is very much a local dive bar feel, and the service style matches that. As long as you go in with the right expectations, it makes for an enjoyable, laid-back brunch. Also worth noting--there's a decent amount of parking in the back, which is always a plus. Overall, a solid spot for a casual, no-frills brunch.

The owner, Jen, is an absolute dream, and her staff reflected that same warmth and care. Every visit felt welcoming, thoughtful, and special. This place will be greatly missed, and I'm so grateful for the many wonderful meals I had here over the years. The burrata was always outstanding, no matter the season or preparation -- somehow familiar yet always fresh and creative. From comforting pot pies and rich lasagnas to classic meat-and-potato dishes and beautifully executed cuisine, everything that came out of the kitchen was mouthwatering and made with intention. While it's hard to say goodbye, I'm thankful that Jen still has Brimmer & Heeltap in Seattle, where her talent and vision continue to shine. A truly special place, run by truly special people.

I've also eaten there a few times for breakfast and was equally impressed. Sadly, we've heard they may be closing, which would be such a huge loss for the neighborhood.
