Have you ever wanted the perfect breakfast sandwich? Look no further. This little location in the heart of San Francisco has it. We went here for a quick stop for coffee and sandwich. We ordered the The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich which basically melts in your mouth with every bite. It's hard to explain. Your gonna have to try it and see for yourself. It's perfect in every way. Soft, buttery and full of flavor. Pastries are super good. We tried the pan au chocolate too and was yummy. Small place with tables outside but it's cute and has great food. Highly recommend

This place is incredible, especially if you're looking for some gluten free options. Hands down one of the best gluten free toast. Their sandwich flavors are delicious, great smoothies, and rich coffee. Highly, highly recommend this small hidden gem

This is a charming spot for coffee, smoothies, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches and more. Staff were sweet. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant was spotless (and quaint/small). There's counter seating along the window inside. Tables and chairs are available outside. Food was fresh and good.

Such a cute little hole in the wall cafe! The outdoor seating seriously reminds me of New York, and there's also a few seats inside if you want to sit in. The coffee is AMAZING. I got both a vanilla latte and a regular latte and they were super creamy, delicious, and a really good size. Coffee came out fast too, which I always appreciate. The sandwiches were easily some of the best I've ever had, and it was the perfect breakfast that kept me fueled the entire day. I ordered the fresh mozzarella and avocado sandwich with basil pesto, tomatoes, arugula, and balsamic on ciabatta. I added eggs for extra protein ($2.50 more) and WOW, so worth it. They absolutely load it up!! We did wait a little bit for the sandwiches, but everything was super fresh and made with care. I will absolutely be coming here all the time, and if you live in the area I highly recommend checking this place out!

Crostini & Java. I am still glad that i got to stumble upon this cafe. The sandwiches are made with precision and care. Delicious! Their smoothies are amazing! The strawberry smoothie kept me coming back again and again. The owner and the ladies are quite friendly and happy folks. But mind you, this place gets real busy. They have very very limited sitting space including the outdoor sitting so it is on you. lol. Not too pricey at all. Whoever wandering around the city of San Francisco, please welcome! Morning coffee with a spoon of collagen? Early brunch with a smoothie? You get the idea. I am sure you won't be disappointed as much!

Super cute corner shop that is really small but offers a variety of items on their menu. They serve breakfast and lunch items all day!! Service: 5/5 Friendly, quick, and efficient service. You'd order at the front and the employees will call your name once your order is ready or come outside to give it to you if you're seated outside. Food: 4/5 French lavender latte - Creamy and strong but I personally lavender was a bit too overwhelming. Smoked salmon and eggs croissant - A little too oily to my liking and small amount of eggs inside, but it was so flavorful that I actually enjoyed it.

My brother, Lane and I stumbled upon Crostini & Java on our first day in San Francisco on the way to Swans Oyster Depot. We already got coffee that morning, but it was definitely something I wanted to come back and check out since the line was out the door. We came around 11am debating if we were just going to get coffee or also grab something to eat. Since we were short on time we decided to get two sandwiches and eat it there. I had the salmon cream cheese croissant with an iced peanut butter latte and Lane ordered the california crunch with salmon and a hot mocha. I loved the flavor of the peanut butter latte, but there were many sips where I had straight peanut butter. Wasn't a problem, but definitely a bit too much sometimes haha. Lane and I decided to split half half on his sandwiches. Both were humongeous I only ended up eating half of the one I ordered. Delicious and satisfied. Lane mentioned how good his sandwich was and was adding sriracha mayo to it. I had fomo just watching him eat it cause it looked so good. It is very tiny in there with limited seating, but very intimate and homey feeling. Would definitely return if I was ever in the area!

I wanted to grab a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich and came across this one on Yelp. There is no parking. We had to circle the block before I decided to get out And order while he looked for parking. It's a small location. There's were people waiting outside while they waited for their orders. They have 2 tables with seating outside that were taken at the time and a bar sitting inside near an open window. I placed an order for a large caramel macchiato and a smoked salmon and cream cheese on an everything bagel. The coffee came out with in 5 minutes but the sandwich took about 10 minutes. The coffee was soft in taste. The bagel sandwich was ok. The salmon was primary in one area because I took a couple of bite with no salmon. It was a 3/5.

This little spot is well lit, on a busy corner, but it's the perfect hideaway to sit and sip and watch the world hurry by. I ordered a matcha latte and a pain au raisin. Both were perfect and just the taste I was looking for. This place makes a morning in Nob Hill the beginning of a great day.

Crostini & Java has become my go-to spot whenever I need a quick pick-me-up during my lunch break. I always (and happily) get The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich -- it's seriously SO good. I usually substitute the meat for chicken and swap the maple sauce for rosemary aioli, and it's perfect every single time. The staff is always so kind and welcoming, and the service is quick and efficient, which is perfect when I'm on a break. They also have a punch card program -- if you buy 9 coffee drinks or 9 lunch sandwiches, you get the 10th free, which is such a nice touch. Such a cozy little spot I'm really grateful to have nearby. Highly recommend!

Cute small corner cafe with a small amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The sandwich menu is huge and everything sounds yummy! Lots of coffee and smoothie options too. I got the works bagel which came on an everything bagel and had bacon egg avocado and a really good maple dijon sauce! Super big portions and very flavorful and fresh. The sauce was delicious. Reasonable prices too. Service was super friendly and the food was ready quite fast. Would definitely come back for a quick breakfast or lunch!

I have updated my review based on the amazing response from the owner and barista. I had a misunderstanding with the barista regarding my drink. I said matcha she heard latte so I said matcha latte thinking she was correcting me. But when I commented in my review I felt unwelcome because I got the sense they were so busy to even try to pay attention unless you are a local , the owner replied less than an hour from the interaction and immediately asked their staff. It was a misunderstanding and the owner had an amazing response. I also want to mention the barista reached out to me. We had a misunderstanding but I appreciate the willingness to just make it right and clear misunderstandings. Because I requested to change it but she was busy. I thought it was because of my accent sadly I had some bad experiences but their reaction very changed my mind about their ethical way of handling a situation. I appreciate the time and consideration from the owner and the staff because when I came back it was not awkward. They made me a matcha drink which is awesome because I love coffee bud can't wave it due to health related reasons. came here on sunday at 10:30 and ordered a pumpkin spice latte, double espresso, california crunch sandwich, and french breakfast sandwich. second time coming to this cute shop and it always seems crowded but line and service goes fast. Filling and for a great price! The sandwich flavors are so unique and delicious with super fresh ingredients. I want to keep coming back here to try all the sandwiches on the menu. Small coffee shop vibe with limited seating inside and more tables outside. This chicken pesto sandwich was the best I've had in a very long time! My boyfriend tried their popular ultimate breakfast sandwich, it was also really good. We were trying to find a breakfast-y spot and we ran across Crostini and Java. The food itself was so good, I would definitely go back here if we're in the area. The matcha latte felt like there was more milk than matcha, but the strawberry smoothie we had tasted good. It didn't taste like we were drinking something powdered. It seemed like it was made with fresh fruit and not a mixture. Parking to get to this area is mainly street parking but for a Friday morning, we didn't struggle to find a spot really close to the shop. There isn't too much indoor seating, so if you're trying to find a place to sit and try your food, you might not get a spot inside if there's a lot of people. There are also seats outside too. Our food came out in a timely manner, it didn't feel like we waited 20 minutes for two sandwiches and drinks, but we also just beat the rush that came in so we got lucky! read more

When you need a quality breakfast or brunch pick-up, Crostini & Java never fails to deliver. My partner and I got the French breakfast sandwich, "The Works" sandwich (everything bagel), a Matcha latte (sub almond milk), and a house coffee. Both of the sandwiches were great. The flavor is there, and they don't skimp (see the pictures)! The owner will tell ya it's the dijon sauce. The Matcha latte was good, and the house coffee was okay. If you're a dark roast lover, you will enjoy their coffee. However, that roast level isn't my personal preference. Overall, it's a very solid place in our neighborhood to grab a quick breakfast or a bite to eat with a hot or cold beverage. I'd come back! The peanut butter latte is a must for peanut butter fans like me! Also had their ultimate breakfast Sammy. Sadly, it wasn't as ultimate as I imagined, but still yummy! I loved how small and cute it was. I'd love to own a tiny cafe like that! Eggs on the Sammy are pre-made and not fresh. Just a heads up in case you care about that. Worked for me, but also good to know! I'd def return for their PB latte, and maybe a pastry and some hangs. So cute. read more

What a great hidden gem! The staff are quick, the food amazing - and the service is exceptional. I stumbled on this café about a year ago near my office and it's been a favorite of mine ever since. They also have a nice outdoor seating area out front (great for people watching). On a side note- if you're the type of person that likes to try fun new drinks- I can't suggest the Peanut Butter latte enough! It may sound unusual- but it's pretty epic I definitely suggest stopping by Crostini & Java if your in the neighborhood. read more

Personally I was not impressed. I was taking a stroll and it seemed like a local place and said I have to try it due to the ratings. I ordered a French breakfast sandwich. Ok, the bread was warm but the ham was cold, making it unbalanced and not very appetizing. The order taker was not friendly, I got a smile and better service from what appeared to be either the waiter or cook because he came out to give me my sandwich where I was sitting. He spoke broken English and was very nice. I ordered an cappuccino and although warm, I think it could have been warmer. Not sure but maybe I should have ordered something else. I gave the place a star just on the service and smile I got from the help. read more

Good customer service, yummy drinks, and fresh bagel sandwiches! There can be a somewhat long wait for your good since it's a small shop with few staff but it's worth the wait. They have some tables outside you can sit at too. I got the Egg and Avocado sandwich on an everything bagel and the Earl Grey Vanilla Latte. It was the perfect amount of flavor (not too bitter) and sweetness (I don't like overly sweet things). My friend got the Avocado Toast and a Matcha Latte. I ordered a peanut butter latte and an egg and cheese sandwich, which was fantastic (especially the aioli). I'd definitely go back. The latte was quite disappointing, though; I barely tasted any peanut butter; I think it all just settled at the bottom of the cup. In short: service was okay, drinks were average, and the breakfast sandwich was great read more

Small unassuming place with a great menu selection and delicious food and drinks. Very busy, but the staff is helpful and quick. We ordered an iced london fog tea latte, iced lavendar latte, and drip coffee; they were all amazing (coming from 3 hard-to-please people). For breakfast we had an avocado egg everything bagel with rosemary aioli, swiss cheese and turkey on ciabatta sandwich, and brie cheese apple turkey apricot mustard whole wheat toast. One of my favorite places for breakfast sandwiches! You have to try the Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich served on a buttery croissant, your choice of protein, fluffy egg, and a good mix of veggies: tomato, spinach, avocado with a maple dijon mustard. The sweetness of the maple dijon might throw some people off but I love my sweets and savory combined together. I was eating my way through Eater's 11 Outstanding breakfast sandwiches in SF and this was not on the list. This sandwich definitely takes the cake for one of the better sandwiches. I won't name names on the list but other sandwiches were oily, heavy, one note flavors... no thank you. I wouldn't return to any of those. More of a grab and go spot, there are seats inside and outside. Staff here is really nice. You can also order on Grubhub to save time. read more

My sister delivered us sandwiches for a road trip! She drove an hour to deliver and the sandwiches were still super delicious! We enjoyed these sandwiches before our long road trip. I really liked the ratio of the BLTA; of bread, veggies, and bacon. This sandwich came with wheat bread and it was rly good. The veggies were really refreshing with an awesome added texture! I love their lavender latte and the peanut butter mocha. They even have whiskey or rum to add to any drink which is nice for a café. For food I'd say the breakfast sandwiches are the best (Ultimate, French, English). Normally I'm not that picky and a breakfast sandwich is a breakfast sandwich but here they are extra good because they are very flavorful, you can tell they use quality ingredients. The space is small so it's better for grab and go but there are about 2-3 tables outside. The street is on a steeper grade so the tables are at an extra slant. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.

Staff was kind and patient with explaining drinks, especially since this location is newer. I got the caramel latte cloud espresso and was very pleasantly surprised!!! I usually get specialty drinks half sweet, but forgot this time - the caramel latte cloud espresso was actually just right without adjusting the sweetness. The cold foam on top was light and delicious. They only had one size and it was pretty big. The applewood bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on brioche bread was also amazing. Very savory, not too heavy either. It was mostly just bread though. Definitely coming back to try their other drinks when I'm in the area!

The place is nice inside with some Latin or European, I guess, inspired feel. The music was an unusual mix of songs in Spanish, French, American blues, some Rolling Stones and Madonna. The exterior of the cafe looks dull but the employee said that a sign and an awning will be installed soon and will look sharp. What made me like this place is the fact that they bake their eggs for breakfast sandwiches in a real oven. An unusual method but so much healthier than the microwave that most small cafes use. Two thumbs up for that. I had an Ultimate Breakfast sandwich on a croissant and it was superb with some tasty, looks like homemade sauce. Coffee was excellente. I hope they fix their exterior appearance soon. read more

I've had many great experiences ordering from this restaurant! Every time, the sandwiches are consistently delicious, with warm and soft bread and a wide variety of tasty options. What really sets them apart is their attentiveness to dietary preferences and allergies. On my last order, I ordered a sandwich and requested no garlic or onion. They followed my instructions perfectly, but also placed the pesto (which contains garlic) in a separate container with a note, just in case I still wanted it. I recently visited Crostini & Java while staying at the Fairmont, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The avocado toast, English breakfast sandwich, and oat milk latte were absolutely incredible. Each dish was perfectly seasoned and the toast was just right - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The convenience of walking over from the Fairmont was a bonus. Had the pleasure to visit this lovely cafe while on a business trip. The French Sandwich was so delicious and the service was above and beyond. I accidentally knocked over my coffee and the waiter insisted on him cleaning it up, despite my own attempts to fix the mess. They even gave me a free refill, which I definitely did not expect! Great cappuccino, served at a nice temp (not burning hot) and good flavor. Also at a nice location with a nice view if you're sitting down. I like that they have proper mugs to drink your coffee in if you're drinking it there. I didn't try the food but it looked really good, next time I'll try something. read more

Honestly I am too lazy for reviews but this place was truly the best! I want to come back and try EVERYTHING on the menu. We got fresh mozzarella with avocado and I think the pesto was homemade. I've been eating in this cafe since they've opened a couple of years ago. The breakfast sandwiches are to die for, no wander they are serving them all day. Order the Ultimate and you will be happy till the rest of the day. Espresso drinks are just like in Europe, smooth and strong. read more
