Hubby's cousin was in town with his family (5 kids) so with 7 kids and 4 adults, this seemed like a reasonably cheap option. The place is packed. The servers are constantly busy. With so many people we understandably had to wait a bit to be seated. I was astounded at how many people were coming in all the time, even for a Sunday at 4pm. The food? Abundant. There are ton of options. The problem is that none of it is very good. Actually a lot of it was not good. The King Chicken I tried was overdone to the point of being rubbery, the fried rice is extremely greasy, the sweet and sour chicken is like 90% breading / 10% tiny pieces of dry chicken. The sushi is basically what you'd get at a supermarket but at least it's freshly made since they are constantly replenishing it. It's acceptable for the price and if you want a million calories for your dollar this is it, but don't come in expecting it's going to be anything other than the cheapest possible food they can make. For the point point and quality this is pretty good deal! We came for lunch on a sat and it was AYCE buffet for $16.95. They seated us quickly during 1pm rush and the inside was super clean. We got sushi, chocolate fountain desserts, and the Mongolian buffet noodles that's cooked on the spot. The sushi was pretty fair for it being a buffet- we got some nigiri pieces and some rolls. the workers were always bringing out fresh food so it wasn't sitting out for too long. Overall, the food here was good and the price is hard to beat for a buffet. Chocolate fountain is great and lots of options. However, one of the main reasons I chose to try this buffet over others was the ice cream machine, which was out of order. Pretty good deal for ayce - I'd say you get what you pay for. There's a lot of variety to choose from, which I was impressed with. There's even a station where they stir fry for you. Quality food for the expansive buffet they have. Two highlights were the sushi bar and the habachi. There is a bar in which you can pick out your ingredients the chef will cook to order. I allow myself a cheat meal a week, and have eaten at the Plano location before, and really annoyed it. So let me say that the experience at this Dallas location was absolutely repulsive. They have fans running on the sushi because they refuse to fix the air conditioning. The waitress confirmed our drink order multiple times and still brought out the wrong drinks. The foods were all mixed up, probably due to the enormous amounts of children left unsupervised by the literal hundreds of people packed into this sweat box in gym shorts and tank tops. There was barbecue sauce on the dry pot roast, no one at the hibachi (probably due to heat stroke) and the hot rolls were cold, and the sushi was a disgusting tepid temperature. (Hence the pot roast) When we were seated at one of five filthy post-trough feeding tables, we were assured that the puddles of liquid and food(?) would be bussed, by the time we got back, and when we returned, only the leftover check tray was removed. So after bussing our own table by the window, in a sauna, and throwing away the first plate of food, because it was inedible, I waded back through the sea of unattended children to try something else, the pot stickers were floating in a snotty substance, and the sushi prices had been stirred by the woman in front of me because of a lack of ability to use tongs. It got too hot to eat without vomiting , so Instead of complaining we just paid and left. It's a real contrast to the other location. Won't be back. Avoid unless you like food poisoning. read more

We picked King Buffet because of the great reviews, and they were right. We loved the food. Mike had some of everything! I had some shrimp, mussels, and the octopus salad, which I really, really liked. The sauce used on the mussels was just wonderful. The restaurant and the buffet area were both very clean. They constantly brought out fresh food. There was a nice selection of sushi, and I did have one piece. And of course, don't forget the free ice cream! I know buffets get a bad rep because the food sits out for some time, but this place looked very clean. I love that although it's an Asian inspired /style buffet , there are plenty of options outside of the common Asian dishes, such as roast beef, fried chicken, hot wings, fried cat fish etc. Myself and my daughters eats almost nothing alike . When one wants seafood the other wants bbq . When one wants salad the other wants fried chicken. This is an indeed always a fair dinner place because basically you'll find something for everyone when choosing to eat here. I guess with the surge in prices all around the world , this buffet is one out of the few that we've visited that also no longer serves the steamed crab legs . Such a bummer, but Its understandable completely, for what I use to pay $8.99 for a pound of snow crabs at Kroger's is now $20 a pound , so I get the struggle is real . And food cost isn't a joke . I've never had a bad experience here. Although The hosts/ people at the front are always impatient and kind of rude. I assume they Just be tired of /annoyed with the consistent busyness. A huge buffet with lots of choices! Some items were a bit mediocre, but I enjoyed most of what I tried overall. I especially liked the teriyaki chicken on a stick, house chicken, roast beef, various sautéed vegetables and the fresh fruit selection. The waitstaff were attentive to filling our drinks and clearing the plates. We had plenty of time to get as much as we wanted and didn't feel rushed. For what it is, it's a pretty good value. They have multiple seafood and fish options as well as the traditional beef/chicken dishes that you would expect. One of the things that makes this place different than a normal Chinese Buffett is their Mongolian grill that is included. Thing genghis grill, but included with your meal. They do have sushi, which several people I've gone with have eaten in the past, but I'm just not comfortable with the thought of Buffett sushi. You do see the staff constantly bringing our fresh food during busy times. Side note: go on your birthday and you can eat free if you have four friends with you. Bring the printout coupon from their website and be prepared to show your ID. They will play a really weird version of children singing happy birthday and bring you out a cake. I went to King Buffet for the first time for a weekday for lunch. They have their own parking lot and I was able to find a space quickly at 11 AM. Inside is huge with plenty of booths and tables to choose from. You will be seated and asked what you want to drink. I recall drink costs are extra. Yes, it has a humongous selection of all kinds of foods mostly Asian, with plenty of fresh fruits and desserts to pick from also. Also, an amazing selection of vegetables and seafood choices prepared many different ways on the hot tables. Next time I will try the Mongolian buffet which is part of this buffet. In the Mongolian buffet you select certain raw items into your bowl, and then hand the bowl to a cook who will stirfry it all in front of you. You can't leave hungry from here. Be aware that they will charge you an extra fee if leave too much leftover food on your plate. read more

I've been here a couple of times, and the first time it was just so crowded that it was barely worth the effort to wait for the food. The seating area is cramped and if you're elderly, don't expect anyone to offer a place for you to sit. There was a strong fishy smell wafting in from the waiting area which is never a good sign. The Mongolian grill area is definitely recommended, however. The grill served our food fresh and hot and it was a good experience. The buffet line was a different experience altogether, as there are entirely too many families who don't watch their children picking out food with their bare hands, and some of them even sampling and putting what they dont like back. There was even an employee who had two hands full from bussing a table and coughing with her mouth open while walking between tables. It was our first time here, and we have several things to say, both good and bad. Our experience only applies to the weekend, specifically a Sunday evening which was very busy. Environment / Location / Parking: The location is definitely easy to find, but the area isn't great. As soon as we parked, we were approached by a lady -- soon after by the entrance, there seems to be a man, with a bicycle, who was presumably "on something" because he was out while sitting and had a lot of lesions on his arms. Upon entering, not many seemed to care about social distancing or face coverings; even when we were placed at a dining table, we were practically sitting very close, arm touching even, to our neighbors. The place was very crowded, but there was really no wait time. Price: The prices were average for what you get. There were no crabs or oysters -- there were shrimps and mussels; however, it should be noted that prior to visiting, I was told that there would be cheese mayo mussels, but there weren't any of it. Customer Service: The service was fairly good -- we had our drinks refilled when needed, without asking, and our plates were taken at an appropriate time. Food: The food was better than other Asian buffets within the same price range, but the restrictions are very lax. What I mean by this is that the customers are able to do whatever they want to the food and plates. One of us encountered a lady who picked up several plates, just to put them back in the same clean pile she found them in -- wasn't wearing gloves nor did she used sanitizer. There were several kids who were able to grab their food with their bare hands, with no parental supervision (I'd stay away from the chocolate fountain). There were several flies flying around, in which one of us saw a fly land on a piece of sashimi. Aside from these, there was some food that was better than others -- none of the seafood tasted fresh, but their chicken wings were fantastic. The desserts were mediocre, but overall, the food was good. Would I come back? No. At the time, I was not aware of the flies or the food touching. Yes, they provide gloves, but most customers do not use them. It definitely could be better. read more
