Found this gem next to super cheap gas station off the Merritt in CT. Pizza by the slice. Huge slices. Tasty pizzas. Pie by the slice. The Oreo bash was sinfully delicious. The bacon chicken ranch thin pizza was scrumptious. The thicker chicken carbonara and chicken bacon pepper slices were also great; the crust was stupid good as well. I would like for the owner to know about the excellent service we received last night. We placed an order for pickup, the person whom we paid was very polite and helpful as was the staff. When we got home, I realized 1 item was missing. I called and asked if they could deliver the item (because parking can be difficult to get after 8 pm at my condo). Always busy, but a great place to grab a slice for lunch or a couple pies for dinner. A lot of Trumbullites hate on this place (as Trumbullites love to do!) but the pizza is great and the guys who run this place are great dudes. It's not the best pizza place in town...that title belongs to Massimo's Corner Deli down the street...but this was the closest to my house, so they tend to get more business from our family. I wanted to like this place. I really did. When I saw this was going to be a pizza place, I got excited! I love pizza! I was a fairly regular customer when this place was a convenience store, never tried it as a taco place.. watched anxiously as they transformed and then finally opened as "Crown Pizza". First, there are no lines in the parking lot. So unless there are a bunch of cars in the lot, parking can be disorderly. Second, this place is TINY and tight. It seemed bigger before. Next, the pricing kind of surprised me as they are 2+ dollars higher per pizza than average places around here. On to the pizza itself. Again, I want to stress, I REALLY wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, the pizza was not good. I don't mean it was terrible or inedible but you can get this level of pizza or higher literally anywhere. I mean on Main Street alone, Old Towne is just a couple blocks away in the Stop and Shop plaza - in the opposite direction Mario The Baker is across from Price Rite Supermarket, then San Remo, Captain's, etc. This is a pizza heavy area - if you're going to open a pizza place that is going to last long term you've got to deliver VALUE, EXCELLENCE or BOTH.. and sadly, you provide neither. In passing, I've seen kids hanging around on their bikes, so maybe they cater to selling slices to the immediate neighborhood? I don't know. All I know is as often as I pass this place, I won't be stopping in again. Way too many good pizza places in the surrounding area to even consider Crown. Sorry guys. Place is pretty solid for trumbull... Gave 4 stars considering its local. If the best competition was closer these guys would be 3 stars tops. Slices are a bit pricy, grabbing 2 and a drink brings the total to $8ish. Usually tasty enough but it does vary. Getting a whole pie is a good choice if you have a family. I usually drop in various pizza places just for the slices though. read more

Crown's food is sometimes greasier than expected for a pizza joint. That being said, some of their signature pizzas are acceptable. My personal favorite pizza is the buffalo chicken; it is actually the best buffalo chicken pizza around here. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. read more

I am so happy that Crown Pizza is here. The biggest thing that Trumbull was missing (in my opinion, being a "pizza brat" from NY) was a "slice joint". The selection of slices you can order here is just like you would see at a pizzeria in NYC. You must try the Nonnas pizza. I haven't had anything other than the pizza - and I believe it to be be best pizza place in town. They had a bunch of issues when they first opened but I believe that they've worked thru them, so don't let some of the early reviews deter you from giving this place a try. read more

I really like the pizza at this place. However I took off a star because it is very expensive for no reason. I got a small Cobb salad for 8 bucks and it was SO SMALL. Side salad small. I was very annoyed but didn't say anything. They are just starting so I expect them to be slow. But it's a hit or miss with how slow they are. One time my pizza was ready in 20 minutes, another time I called and they said 20 minutes but it took an hour and a half. So I sat there for an hour waiting. But I keep in mind that they are new and still learning. Always call ahead! read more

This review actually doesn't have anything to do with the food because we didn't get to eat but the people that work there are certainly 5 star humans. My husband and I pulled off the road because our 5 month old was screaming after a long car trip and the guys who were working behind the counter could not have been nicer. They offered to heat up whatever we needed and made us feel so comfortable and calm while we fed the baby. Literally the best pizza I ever ate in my entire life . I ordered a Brazilian pizza , Frango com catupiry and it was delicious . It was supper warm when it arrived at my house and so much toppings on it . Not only that but the olives they used on it were to die for . This just became my new favorite pizza location ! So I'll start off by saying that we moved here from NY about four years ago and was so happy to find them thinking they were the closest to NY pizza we could find in the area. Even though they haven't always been consistent with their food, we continued to order from there. Sometimes we get a fresh order and sometimes we don't but tonight had to be the straw that broke the camels back. Got home from a long day and was starving. Placed an order and it took over two hours to arrive. We specified fresh wings not drumsticks and we received the worst dry and old drumsticks we've ever had. Waste of money because we had to throw it all out! Must've been left over from the night before or something. Pizza could've been a lot better had one slice out of the pie and could continue any further. Will be looking to give it away to some poor hungry soul.I think it's time to switch. The first time I decided to order from this restaurant was after I received a mailing. It was A+++ However after ordering several times, things have gone down hill. My friend called tonight to advise them the pizza we ordered was cold and had burnt crust, and we received an apology. However; after tonight I am done. The grinders we ordered I received very little Mozzarella cheese and once again a mistake was made; we ordered a small Caesar Salad and we get Italian Dressing!! Really?! Having lived in Trumbull for the last 5 years, I have seen this location turn from a Deli, to a Mexican Grill, to a pizza place. And yet, the quality and service has remained the same - terrible. I ordered two small pizza's and a zeppoli dessert at 5:30pm. After being told it would take about 25 minutes, I arrived to pick-up my order at 6:00. I was told it was almost ready and should be out soon. I checked in with the girl at the register again at 6:20 (who by the way was actually very good at her job, especially considering the numerous impatient customers lined up waiting), and after checking, she again told me it would be another few minutes. At 6:40 I asked for a refund. I think it was the manager who came to try and persuade me to wait just another 15 minutes, but after refusing he offered to deliver my order to my home. It was a nice gesture, and in all honesty I was tired of watching 6 'cooks' dance around each other constantly opening the one pizza oven they seemed to have in operation. At 7:00 the order arrived at my house. The pizza was hot, the zeppoli was not. The pies were average at best, mostly chewey dough with a tomato sauce that was uninspired, if not canned. This place may very well be a decent spot to grab a salad or a wrap. But I would pass on the pizza-for-dinner idea, and the pizza's by the slice looked pretty grim. Sorry to say, but this place will not last a year unless they get organized. read more

Found the grocery store sticker on the pepper in my grinder. Need I say more. This place is a brazilian restaurant trying to sell italian food. Not even close. Mostly a bread grinder for $9, garbage.
