I don't make it over to Cruisers Diner often, but when I do, I leave very full and happy! A family member and I arrived around 10:45am on a Friday and scored a parking spot in the small parking lot facing Harlem Rd. in Cheektowaga. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked in and were surprised with how busy it was with many tables and booths filled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress told us we could grab any booth or table and she'd be over with menus. I have to give a shoutout to our waitress as she was the only one working, taking care of everyone and doing a fantastic job! She was so nice and personable and made sure to check on us periodically. After we got our coffee and waters, she took our order and let the two of us relax and chat until our plates arrived about 15 minutes later. For breakfast I ordered two buttermilk pancakes and added chocolate chips (an extra $1.99) from the "Hub Caps" section of their breakfast menu. I will tell you right now, any normal person will NOT finish both pancakes! Wow, their pancakes are ginormous! Both were jam-packed with chocolate chips and topped with dollops of whipped butter. They were made perfectly - hot and fluffy! I don't know how but I managed to ALMOST eat both, but had to throw in the napkin about three-quarters of the way of my second pancake. I managed to impress our waitress - She'd never seen anyone eat as much of the pancakes as I did in the two years she's been working there. hahaha I'll be honest, of the breakfast places I've been to around Buffalo, Cruisers Diner, as of 2025, definitely serve up my favorite pancakes, not just because they're huge and VERY affordable, but they are cooked perfectly and they don't skimp on the extras, I mean there were a ton of chocolate chips both inside and outside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cruisers Diner isn't upscale, fancy, but I don't want it to be! The 1950's style diner is comfortable and relaxing with friendly staff, is affordable, serving up quality food, and incredibly generous portions[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Its been open for a while and we needed to eat somewhere new. This place was open and had a lot of few options. I had a beef on weck and my husband had a burger. Both were really good. Waitress was wonderful. Patient while we decided what we wanted to eat. Place is decorated really nice and we will be back to have breakfast. This is a new to me diner on the West Seneca/Cheektowaga border . A cruise night theme is noticed when first walking in and definite 50s diner vibes . The wait staff was great with topping off coffee and busting out the Sunday breakfast orders . I decided on a Texas hot omelet (no onion ) and my dad got The Big George breakfast (which was pretty much everything on their breakfast menu ) . My omelet was tasty (I really liked the home fries ) but sadly half way in , I discovered they still put onions in it . I didn't wanna make a stink about it and was getting full, so I just picked around them . My dad really enjoyed his breakfast but said he would order something smaller next time (it was definitely enough food for 2 people ) . We both noticed the diner china was worse for wear , lots of chips and cracks in the mugs and plates . The server came and seat us immediately. There was only about three other patrons inside when we arrived. The food we ordered was okay. The homefries definitely needed seasoning but they are cooked very well. The right amount of char and they're soft inside with a tiny bit of crunch outside. Yummm There music videos playing across the tv screen. when summer walker came on the big screen tv and they cut it off and a video of Elvis started playing. Yeah that rubbed me the wrong way. Why not let it play???????????? Anyway My review will be like all my reviews are honest. The French toast was not seasoned so it just tasted like bread and egg. I would have enjoyed a sweet flavor perhaps vanilla. The texture was god on the French toast though. The rye seeded toast was cooked perfectly for me. With butter evenly distributed across each piece not just in the middle like many places do it. The omelet was a little crunchy on the ends but it too was okay. It seemed like maybe it was on the grill a little too long but it was okay. Nothing was nasty. I wasn't wowed but this place is really cute. It has an old school look to it. My companion for this lunch ordered a sub. He thoroughly enjoyed the sub. He loved the sun lol. The fries were very good. We ordered peppers on the side because the sub needed a little razzle dazzle. But with the addition of the peppers he was in love. I know for a fact what I liked most was the toast. I ordered an omelet with feta and jalapeños and mushrooms. It was okay when it was hot. Told her I was just looking at the price of their pumpkins and was that not OK even though I didn't know they were closed? She said no it wasn't OK, thank you. If you want people to visit your restaurant and buy any of your food, pumpkins, and whatever, be nicer to the people that visit there or they'll never come back again. I'm sure I won't. The staff very pleasant and attentive The restaurant and bathrooms extremely clean and well kept The menu was very large and if you're looking and desire your favorite is probably on this menu. Cruisers is a very small, but it had huge flavor. It was so good and very decently priced! It took a little while for my food to come out, so I (unfortunately) devoured my Texas Hots omelette before I realized I didn't get a picture. We frequent Cruisers in Cheektowaga several times a month. We decided to order take out for two fish frys. When I went to go pick up the cook,Connie told me that the fish was a bit dark and she didn't know why because she just changed the grease. BS!!!! I can't remember how I heard about this place as it's off my usual beaten path. It fit the bill of having good looking menu options and HUGE pancakes which I was in the mood for! Walking in we weren't sure what to do no visible host desk but a server saw us and got us a booth. Typical diner vibe and crowd at 9 ish on a Sunday. I think I was the youngest one there....and I'm old lol. No matter coffee was hot. Service was friendly and the food was fantastic! The mushrooms in my 3 egg fluffy omelet were grilled and seasoned!! The hash browns real potatoes, seasoned and tender add onions, perfect. The order of pancakes (2) no you can't just get 1 had to be the biggest I've seen, seriously. I cut 1 into 4ths to share. Tender, great flavor you know that pancakey smell you can taste? That flavor! Add perfectly grilled and real butter with a tiny dusting of powder sugar. I think I took before and after pics, I hardly made a dent. Boxed up the rest (see, I am old). Weird thing. While we were there then power went out randomly. My mom and I went to Cruisers at 1061 Harlem just past Clinton. I took her there for Mother's Day. (She and my Dad enjoy going there, so I wanted to check it out.) They've been open since December of 2021. Although they're cash only, it was a good experience. They had great food and good service. Their menu is extensive. My mom and I each had a coffee. She ordered eggs, toast, and substituted a fruit cup for the potatoes that it came with. Her fruit looked fresh and better than any side of fruit at any restaurant I've ever been to. I ordered a cinnamon roll, which was pretty good. It had an apple drizzle on top. The icing was fantastic. I also ordered the Texas Hots Omelette which was cut up Sahlen's hot dogs, cheese, and onions in the hot dog with Texas Hots sauce poured over the top. The onions were hidden and I honestly didn't notice them at first. I've never had anything like that before but it was great and I loved it. They have five or six kinds of bread. I chose the sour dough, which hit the spot. Our waitress was Barb. She was pretty busy, as were the other two or three waitresses but she was kind and dug well. The owner came by with roses for all the women. Even though I informed him that I'm not a mom, he said he wanted me to have it. If you pull in off of Harlem and there isn't parking in the front of the lot, drive down the lot towards Consumers. Cruisers has a small lot behind the restaurant. I didn't like that the hi top table that we were seated at was right next to the ATM. Many people needed it because they didn't know that this place was cash only. This place is fairly small but they have a counter you can sit at, if the other areas are busy. I think they're open daily early in the morning until 3pm, except on Fridays and Saturdays, when they're open later. read more

Got our order taken in about twenty minute and then nada. People came in way after us and got their breakfast while we sat there waiting. After an hour got up and left. This place is so nicely decorated...bright and clean! The food choices are great. I had the #3 - 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 sausages, and 2 bacon. The pancakes are huge! And fluffy delicious! The eggs, bacon, and sausage were all cooked as I like them. My husband enjoyed the country-fried steak with potatoes and toast. Good portions...we couldn't eat it all! I just had lunch at cruisers, I ordered the bologna sandwich which was advertised as thick bologna steak I opted to go to bologna with peppers and onions. Sandwich came out and it was not thick baloney at all butt tasty. the curly cue fries that came with it or undercooked and cold so I did not eat any at all. My waitress disappeared never came back to ask how my food was or anything else only time she came back was to clean off the table . She never mentioned the untouched fries nor asked if the meal was good. If they keep this level of service and food they won't be around too long read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. We went for lunch after they first opened and it was great. Today was a completely different story. Server was slow in coming over to the table. She brought the drinks that were warm and flat and said that the ice machine was broken. My husband ordered the triple decker and I ordered the big john, which is the same sandwich but with 3 meats instead of one. His came up right away and she brought it out, without mine. Ten minutes and many apologies later, mine came out along with a swarm of fruit fliesflies. Now, we notice everyone else is getting their drinks with ice. We asked the server who said that they had icice now, but she never told us even though we asked for it. At this point I was so disgusted, I asked to speak with the owner. The server said that she told him twice but he never came out of the kitchen. The third time, she said she couldn't find him. I took my food to go and paid the bill. I'm writing a low review on the customer service that took place a few weeks ago. my 83 yr old dad and 78 yr old mom went to breakfast there. they were busy and waiting for a table. they have there high table and chairs or counter space. The folks wanted a normal, comfortable booth. a group came in after them and were waiting as well. When they came to my parents and asked if they wanted to sit at the higher tables or at the counters they said no, then the guy said well it's gonna be about 20 minutes. My father noticed that there was a booth open and asked the man if he could have the booth for him and my mom. The man said that's a booth for four people, my father said well whether we're four people or two we've been waiting to be seated so why can't we have that. The man was so rude and told my father find you to go sit in the corner... My father turned and walked out after being treated and talk to so poorly. I've been at this restaurant before and noticed that the cute young ladies get all the nice attention, but the older folks seem disregarded. they will never go back.
