Had the best breakfast I have ever had the other day. It was Rib Eye Hash and soooooo good. I remember hash from when I was a kid. It was always the end of the week with leftovers from the week. This was nothing like that. Couldn't eat it all, so took half home to my grandson. He really bragged about it, too. I keep going back. Would just like to add something I think is fantastic. I have started the Keto way of eating, but like to come here for breakfast on Saturday mornings. What was I going to do? I talked to the Chef and he came up with an omelet that is totally Keto and is fantastic. Thanks to him I can still enjoy my Saturday mornings at Crust & Crumb. Updating my review: so we were in this morning for breakfast and wanted to try something new. I ordered a biscuit and gravy and when the server says BISCUITS and gravy I had in mind at least two biscuits. To my surprise it was one sliced in half with gravy. Yes they are delicious however for $8 I think it's a bit too expensive when the biscuit itself costs $2.50. To add to this we were charged two coffees when my hubby was the only one white drank coffee. I guess that made up for the tip we didn't leave. His French toast was also $8 and was meh. I went there for my first time to try out their pizza slices for $6, 1st- issue was I was given the wrong change from the cashier and had to correct her with the right amount when I ordered a pepperoni slice. Then waited for 20 minutes only to go and ask why is it taking so long and the chef in the back said they were all out of pepperoni and was looking for me which was a bunch of BS because I was looking right at them when they were speaking my name looking around while I was staring at them the whole time... the chef said if I wanted to wait another 20 minutes and I told them NO!! Just give me a refund, there was no suggestion of giving me anything for the inconvenience, he just walked away. then instead of making me a priority for the inconvenience I had to wait for the line of people ordering their food before I can be compensated, this will be my first and last time I ever go to this place due to the lack of training for customer service, maybe the staff can learn to foster relationship with customers in order to get a positive feedback but my experience was terrible!! The pizza here is excellent, as are the sandwiches. Firstly the pizza. The pizza here blows all the other pizza joints in the surrounding area OUT of the water. The crust alone is impeccable. Just the right amount of crisp, and chewiness that one needs in a good pizza crust. They do specialty pizzas which are excellent (the "spanakopizza" was delicious). I would like them to do a pizza margarita because I think they would do a good job. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They made a mistake on our order and comped our pizza! Thank you! The sandwiches are substantial and there is no skimping on the ingredients. No cheap, flimsy bacon, or sickly pulled pork. They take pride in their sandwiches and it shows. The lost star is partly for our beer purchase. My dining companion was on a budget and decided to have the special $2 bud light on tap. However, when the bill came, we were charged $5 for each drink including the bud light on tap. If the special is a happy hour one then it ought to have been advertised that way. The lost star is also partly for how warm it was in the store. Granted it has been monumentally hot this past couple of days but it was warm on the premises and they have no fans, or the AC needs to get better. Finally the baked goods ... are a hit and miss in my opinion (tried the brownie offering and it was chalky and weak). The bagels aren't really bagels, just doughnut shaped bread. First, I would like to say I don't live in Turlock but through a baby shower there. The staff at Crust and Crumb was absolutely amazing! Carisa sent me pictures of the venue and helped me with the ordering process! Not living in the same area I thought would be a little hard but with Carisa's help it was completely easy. One of the representatives from Crust & Crumbs came to my parent's business to advertise their business and request one of our product for their business. The representative provided a brochure of the business's menu, hours, and address. I was fascinated with the business name and thought the restaurant stands out from other pizzerias in the area. The name provides a great picture of what they will offer as a restaurant. I also did not expect to see a bakery and a pizzeria together, so that is a definite plus in my book where a business separates it from other businesses. I decided to visit and try the pizza from this place after working with one of my clients. I was a big fan of Crust and Crumb's interior design and environment. I felt like I stepped in an authentic artesian pizzeria with their warming colors. I was greeted with a huge smile and a greeting from the lady at the front desk. I was indecisive on what I wanted to get from the restaurant. I asked multiple questions to the woman, and she seems to provide me some definite answers for my considerations. I decided on a 12" buffalo chicken and sausage pizza to go because I had another client to work within an hour from ordering. Honestly, I was expecting to take the pizza home and save half of the pizza for tomorrow, so I paid $18 without any hesitation. I waited for a good ten minutes for the pizza which was not too long. They were also kind enough to provide a sample of their pastry while I was waiting for my pizza. One of the workers in the back delivered the pizza to me personally, and I went on my way. My only concern was the size of the pizza and the price of the pizza. For example, I can enter through a Costco and order a pepperoni pizza that is 18" across and pay $10. They will have to compete with restaurants that will provide cheaper and large pizzas. Even though they are an artisan pizzeria with a beautiful name and environment, they will have to provide a nice marketing concept for people who do not have enough money for their pizza. Other than the pizza section of their restaurant, I am confident that they will interest early birds to their bakery section. They have a great breakfast selection on their menu. Overall, Service: Their service is excellent and welcoming. I couldn't describe how welcoming the lady was when I entered their restaurant for the first time. Location: Crust and Crumb are located in the middle of Turlock Downtown which is a fantastic location for local businesses to flourish. The parking can be a huge problem for some people, but parking can be manageable since there are other parking spots in downtown. The location will also gather downtown regulars who work near their location. Price: The pizza's price was very overpriced. The create your "own 12" pizza" option can be very overpriced if a person ordered four items on their pizza (15.50 + 6 = $21 for a 12" pizza). Although the price may seem overpriced, their quality surpassed the thought of overpaying for their pizza. Environment: The environment couldn't be any better. I was not positive on whether the restaurant was music playing in the background, but the music can be a great addition to the restaurant's atmosphere. The restaurant's interior design was phenomenal and made me felt that I was a typical Italian pizzeria. Food: This was the restaurant's strongest point when I was done evaluating the restaurant and their food. Each of their ingredients showed excellent quality and texture which was a huge plus in my experience with this restaurant. I will continue to eat at this restaurant and see whether the other types of pizza meet my first expectations. I would recommend my friends, family, and clients this restaurant a try for their food and environment. Although you may pay a fortunate compared to other pizza restaurants, you should focus on the quality of your pizza. read more
