We had our pool installed in June of 2023. It is beautiful, however within the first few months we had one of the two pool lights (led) burn out. Our igniter stoped working within the first few months also. We were unable to get in touch with anyone at Crystal Cove despite multiple attempts. We have had to also repair a chlorinator as well. The pool is not a year old mind you. Our pool service guy tried to look at the salt cell union this week and it was glued in. Took him a while to remove and thankfully was able to clean & save. We started looking for a pool builder and thought we found our person to use but thankfully they tried to railroad us and we found Hunter with Crystal Cove. I contacted Hunter Saturday February 12 about our interest in doing our build. Being that it was the weekend I wasn't expecting him to come to our house until the following week and considering the next day was not just Sunday but Superbowl Sunday. He came out measured our property and submitted his quote to us within a few business days with his design. We broke ground officially March 18 and the entire process went smoothly. I understand it's construction and the crazy world we are in today with supplies etc. But I can not recall one hiccup the entire build. Hunter consistently communicated with us at all times and gave accurate timelines/deadlines. The workers who came to the house were all respectful and at the end of the day cleaned up after the days job. May 31 we were filling our pool which to me was mind blowing. We didn't have just a cookie cutter pool put in. The detail that went into the work and the final touches was awesome. It's been 8 months since Crystal Cove completed our install. Everyone we dealt with from Crystal Cove was excellent to work with. The project manager Tim was outstanding, provided updated timelines after the weather last winter slowed the process. We had a couple minor issues at the beginning of pool use season that were immediately rectified by Hunter and his team. We had several companies come to our house to provide ideas and pricing. Alex from Crystal cove came listened to what we were looking for and provided ideas as this was our first pool purchase. Hunter came and installed a new pool pump for us and did a great job. He was also supposed to clean our salt cell but never did! We talked about monthly service, but he never showed up again! BEAD BLASTING - I am so impressed with crystal Cove! They have been cleaning my pool for 2 years now! We never had one issue with them. I have an older home with older pool tiles, I am trying to wait as long as possible to redo the tiles. Hunter suggested he could bead blast them. Well I could not believe how the tiles came after he did it. The tiles came to life after all of the calcium build up throughout the years. They look new, clean, and no more white build up. Hunter did and AMAZING job. He even had to get in my freezing pool up to his chest to make sure he got them all. The hiring of Hunter was arranged by a property manager. He started the first week of February. It was late February when we spoke on the phone and I gave him an email address to send the invoice to. I received the invoice on March 4th and he walked off the job on March 6th. To say it was because I hadn't paid the bill that he had just sent 2 days prior is ridiculous. As for the changing of the price, at the end of February, he informed me (through Peter) that he had underestimated the work and I approved an increase of $25. But you don't get to charge that retroactively for the previous month. The correct billing would have been $125 for Feb and $150 for Mar. Since he walked off the job without performing a single service in March, I paid him the $125 for Feb and that was it. My pool is very difficult with 50,000+ gallons and multiple lights, fountains, etc. He underestimated the work and it didn't work out well. Folks, Hunter is a young guy getting started with his own business. Don't let one bad review keep you from giving him a chance. I truly hope this will be his learning experience and he goes on to be very successful. read more

I found hunter through a friend of mine. She has her pool cleaned weekly by them and came highly recommended. During the first call hunter was extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Before even spending a dime with him he was happy to explain his processes, chemicals used, and best Maintanence plan for my size pool. Contacted Hunter at Crystal on Thumbtack to repair some leaks left by a previous company after replacing the pump. Hunter did an excellent job in fixing the leaks in the discharge piping and went through the filter replacing O-rings in both the suction and discharge bulkhead fittings. "Yea" a dry pump/filter pad. Young guy who has a lot of experience for his age plumbing pools and also routinely services pools also. We will definitely use him again if the need arises. read more
