Very big disappointment. There were 6 in our party, consequently the tip was built in (1st disappointment). Clam chowder (2nd disappointment) The roux was not mixed well and was lumpy like glue) 3rd disappoint. Scallops had been previously frozen (4th D.). Red Snapper was on the menu and since we were local Wellfleetions and had previously owned a restaurant in Wellfleet we knew that the snapper had been imported (5th D.). Was really excited to try this new place and add it to our repertoire of restaurants in Wellfleet. But when we arrived we found out there's no kids menu and nothing I would even consider kid friendly so unfortunately it doesn't work for us and or other families that I know. I've dined in here before and it was great - I ordered take out and the pizza is completely oversauced and tastes doughy even though it's fully cooked because it's so wet. I ordered the hush puppies because I liked them so much last time, but they forgot the maple butter which wrecked the whole concept. Disappointed. read more

Great atmosphere, especially outside on a spacious lawn with a fire pit at night. Very good food. We went as part of a large group, many of whom consider themselves sophisticated eaters from San Francisco or NYC. Everyone had a small complaint... this sauce needed a little extra sharpness, or that dish should have been served in a bowl rather than on a plate, french fries could have been a tad crisper, service was a little slow, etc. But we all came away satisfied. Good for kids too, which is surprising considering the rather sophisticated menu. Food of this quality would be priced 50% higher in San Francisco and a full 100% higher in NYC. As of this writing, C-Shore is a very new restaurant. We're rooting for it to thrive. read more

Well, it's the lobster risotto. We come to Wellfleet once or twice a year. Over the past 2 or 3, I've looked forward to a takeout order including C Shore's lobster risotto. I recall that it had a richness from a certain amount of cheese, but not so much that it overwhelmed the important and delicate lobster. This time was different. A good classic risotto would rely on good stock and white wine, maybe a little onion or chives, herbs. Simple, delicate. I would be happy if it didn't head down the cheese road at all. But what I had last night is what a future archaeologist might find in the back seat after a cheese meteor had crashed into a cheese volcano that then erupted and buried my car. Hey, you might be asking, why is that a bad thing? I'll admit, taste is a personal thing. If you enjoy that curiously popular form of lobster abuse, drowning it in a gurgling glop of mac and cheese, this definitely may be the dish for you. read more

We came up to Wellfleet in April this year and experienced a wonderful dinner at C-Shore. Loved the ambiance indoors and can't wait to come back to enjoy the fire pit/patio outdoors. The menu truly has something for everyone. Every dish accented with such fresh ingredients including local micro greens. The crab cakes were amazing and the lobster risotto... to die for! Great service, fresh cold Wellfleet oysters, plain or Rockefeller and really tasty shrimp scampi entree. I would never recommend this restaurant. The best part of my experience was our server. They have the audacity to charge $9 for a simple small salad, $15 for French Onion soup. Waaayyyyy over priced, and not worth it. My Pad Thai was terrible. The chef should stay away from trying to copy Thai food. It didn't work. They are 1 of 2 year round restaurants open year round in Wellfleet, so they gouge the public. Never again. Don't waist your hard earned money. read more

We were only in town for a few days, but after our first dinner here, my son insisted we come back for dinner on our last night, too! I'm so glad we did, because we certainly weren't disappointed. Usually while on the cape, I always go for seafood. The first night, we tried the Wellfleet oysters (so fresh-can't go wrong!), chicken burrata and Wellfleet clams. Everything was delicious. The clams came in a broth that made you want to keep dipping bread and fries into it. They also have a good selection of both wine by the glass, and local beers. The second night, I changed things up and went for the strawberry, goat cheese and beet salad which was a perfect (healthy!) prelude to the Jake burger, which honestly was the best burger I've had...maybe ever? Perfectly juicy and well balanced with both hot sauce and a cooler ranch sauce, cooked just right. It was burger heaven, I'm just sad that I have to wait until summer vacation next year to have another! Service was fast and gracious, even on a busy Friday night. We were so looking forward to trying the food but unfortunately, we never got to order. We arrived on a clearly busy Thursday night and were seated outside. There were 2 tables, with 2 different waitstaff, a waiter and a waitress tending to them. Both walked past us numerous times while taking care of the other tables and never acknowledged us. We understood they were busy, and had they said we will be with you shortly, it would have been fine. No hello, no I'm sorry, no we'll get to you as soon as we can, nothing. We sat there for 30 minutes. The waiter was very chatty with his table so he wasn't overwhelmed, just rude. We got up and left. Both the waiter and the waitress saw us leave, and still ignored us. Horrible service. I did speak to the hostess and she was kind and apologetic. I asked her to please let the manager know so that this can be addressed. read more

This is probably the best restaurant in town. We've been coming to Wellfleet for some time now and are happy to see a restaurant with nice mix of seafood and comfort food. Wanted to try a new restaurant last night, checked out the menu online and it looked perfect, something for everyone. Got to CShore around 6:30 prepared for a wait knowing that this is the busiest time of year. We were pleasantly surprised when the very sweet hostess said she could seat us outside right away. We picked out cocktails that sounded fantastic and waited for someone to take our drink order. And waited. And waited. For thirty minutes. There were two other tables seated on the patio as well, both of whom had drinks, snacks & a server. We were patient knowing that although it might not seem busy outside it was definitely busy inside. We were never acknowledged by two separate waitstaff that were tending to the other tables. No hello, no someone will be right over, no drink order. After sitting for half an hour my friend went inside to tell the hostess we were leaving and what was going on. While she was inside there was a waiter at the next table chatting up the family with all the time in the world. The hostess was very apologetic, despite the fact that this issue had nothing to do with her. My friend came back, we got up to leave, noisily due to all of the gravel and yet neither of the waitstaff that were out there even flinched. This is a new restaurant this season in Wellfleet. My wife and I went there last Sunday evening. Everything was great, the food and the service as well. They as planning on staying open all year which is great for the community since most of the restaurants close for the season. read more

Nice farm-to-table place to eat and pretty crowded even on a Wednesday night in the fall. The setting is warm and inviting. We had a butternut squash dish and a simple burger with fries plate. Both dishes were high quality and done well. Even the bread and spreads were generous and tasty. I think we found a new go-to place on the Cape. read more

Yesterday I celebrated my birthday at the Cape, so after being at the beach I'd worked up an appetite. I looked at reviews on yelp and I was lead to C-shore. I can't even explain how much I enjoyed my experience here. The service was great and the food was even better. I order a new dish that was on the menu called the Lobster Thermidor. It took my breath away. This was by far the biggest lobster I've had in my life. Seasoned to perfection, stuffed with Crab and spinach. I had it with a mixed vegetable melody but I was so enamored with the lobster I barely touched the veggies. I highly recommend this place and whenever I'm in the Cape, I will definitely go back. Seems like they're new at this. Breakfast was tasty, but not without issues. Our waitress had to remove our coffee cups and refill them elsewhere when we needed more coffee...what's up with that? French toast was good, but skimpy portion and served without butter...asked for butter, which was brought, but it was rock hard. Couldn't get an English muffin with the omelette...HUH? Couldn't get strawberry jam for the toast, no orange juice available, home fries were tasty, but soggy. Practice is needed, hope they get it right. Let me start off by saying I have run restaurants for the majority of my professional career. That being said I've dined at some of the best to offer from our country as far as restaurants go. I had super high hopes for the food after reading a lot of reviews which gave glowing reviews to the edible offerings but did notice there were a fair amount of reviews in regards to slow or poor service. As a lifetime food & bev-er I usually disregard these reviews as I have been in the business a long time and know what it takes to run a smooth service from front and back of house. However, my hopes had been diminished as we walked in on memorial day weekend and things appeared to be a little (a lot) out of control. There seemed to be a kitchen wait (although that was not relayed to me I did notice there were plenty of open tables). That happens and I actually applaud businesses when they know their weaknesses and don't insist on serving a table when they know they'll be waiting an hour for food or have inadequate service. LOVE THAT MOVE by a manager or owner, so kudos guys. On the other hand though I will say that when we walked to the outdoor bar there were lots of tables in disarray and needed to be bussed all while the bartender all while also being the only patio server had to serve the entire main outdoor area and make everyone's drinks. To me that was the first sign of trouble. I feel like the poor girl (who remained calm through it all) looked defeated beyond the painstaking nature of the ever dreaded MDW dinner rush. In my opinion she was set up to fail by ownership or management but she succeeded about as much as she could. The hostess or MOD and her were then heard going over why they weren't seating anymore out on the patio and then went back and forth on everything that had gone wrong in front of the guests at the bar. NOT a very comforting sign and I feel like whoever was the MOD should've ensured their staff was set up for success. A 6 table section and bartending an entire outdoor bar would NOT have been their best course of action for future reference. I get that our on-season is very limited and we are in the business of turn and burn but take a cue from the kitchen wait move and try to properly staff your outdoor area. That being said, our bartender/server etc was great and never let us see her sweat. Great job!! There was another server floating around that was crying at one point which additionally made our initial impressions at C-Shore super awkward..all before we sat down for food! Then we were told we had a table ready for us in the bar area and when we went to ask the hostess she simply shrugged and said "I don't know" and only gave us one menu to share amongst the four of us. Again, not a big deal but overall a lack of energy from the staff. We were then greeted by Mal a young male server who took amazing care of us and our food was incredible from the first bite to the last bite (except for a somewhat dry ricotta cheesecake). I was honestly really surprised given how our first 30 minutes had been there. Overall an awesome albeit awkward first encounter at the C-Shore but I will definitely be back. They have some management kinks to workout but with it being MDW I'm sure and hope they will learn and set their service staff up to be successful. read more

We were out for a ride looking for a place to have dinner this past Tuesday when we happened to pass C Shore and decided to give it a try. The outdoor patio and lights caught our attention. Upon entering we were greeted by a hostess and seated outside on an upper deck. Very quickly a waitress arrived and introduced herself as Lilee. She proved to be excellent offering suggestions regarding menu and drink selections and gave great service. Lilee was friendly and polite and even brought a sampling of bloody mary mix to taste prior to ordering. We enjoyed our meal and had a very nice dining experience and will definitely be back. read more

Our first visit to this relatively newcomer to the Wellfleet/Eastham area. Very pleasantly surprised. We were a party of six so we had to wait for a table, but the waiting area was a circle of Adirondack chairs surrounding a campfire--nice evening to sit by a fire and chat. Our server, Josh, was knowledgeable about the menu and willing to make recommendations. I started with Smoked Old Fashion cocktail. The garnish was a thick slice of smoked, pepper bacon - rather unique and quite good. We had an order of their mac & cheese to share as an appetizer--incredible five cheese blend. Several suggested that it would be our main course next time around. We also shared the pork dumplings--okay but nothing special. The chicken burrata dish was praised by two of our party and the lobster risotto was excellent. The ultimate surf and turf was my choice. The sliced ribeye was terrific and the scallops were tasty. The key lime cheese cake dessert was large and very tangy and the s'mores in a jar was also well received. We were all very happy with our dinners and our dining experience. read more
